Ok so the next three weeks are going to be a terror. I have two jobs and a finals for this semester and wow I might just die from stress Not really, but it's going to be extremely tough and I won't really have time to be on at all. I might go for days or more without getting on, so just be prepared.

Jina was finally starting to get it together. The hell-like sickness had seemed to pass and she was able to stand. The woman with the gun had left her and Jina looked over at Huī. He appeared to have no major injuries and was too able to stand.
Happy that he was okay, and also fearing for her life, she coaxed him to his feet. Promptly, she jumped on his back and began to run the opposite way of the battlefield. Not only did she want to get as far away as possible from these demons who called themselves men, but she was hoping to circle widely around the camp and see if any of her fellow Date needed assistance. She did not see Kei and Nao before she left.
After she had gotten a far enough distance away to where none could see her, she arched her horse in a wide circle.
[[Ooc: Jina is attempting to ride to the Armory or the Main camp, too afraid of the Amakusa to stay in the battlefield. If she is allowed to return to either of these locations, she will. If not, then her part in the battle is over. She fled.]]

Jina watched as the woman pointed the gun at her. She had no intentions of dying today and would do exactly what the woman said unless she was 100% sure that she could get away. She didn't want anything more than to just get off the battlefield. She sat there as instructed, her body still feeling poisoned, nauseated and unwilling to move. Jina was scared.

Jina laid on the ground and stared up at the woman with the gun aimed at her. She would do as the woman said, Jina wasn't ready to die.
Her stomach continued to churn and without notice, Jina threw up the water and bread she had eaten just minutes ago. Her head was dizzy, she couldn't move if she had wanted to. All she did was nod at the woman, hoping that his would be enough to keep her from being killed.

She had calmed slightly since her short outburst and was able to slow her words some. Being in the presence of a woman made Jina unbelievably more comfortable and happy, and she felt as if it were okay to ask questions like this. Though, she was worried that Katsumi would judge her.
"I...I was married back in China. My husband didn't care about me, he just cared about his military status and having a son. He didn't really care who with. I once caught him in bed with a whore, but thought little of it. I never loved my husband.."
Her voice trailed off again. "I would like to marry someone I truly love someday."
As the fish finished cooking, Jina sat in waiting for it do be done. She had eaten last night, a bowl of rice. She often had little to eat, but she hoped this phase would pass. All she had to do was complete the task that the man had set out for her once she really learned how to ride Huī.
The fish finished cooking and Jina ate two of the four, mouth watering at the well cooked fish. "Where in *insert god name here*'s name did you learn to cook like this?" Jina wished she could have another one but her stomach, and mind were telling her NO MORE.

Jina chuckled at his comment. "The real question is if SHE wants to be married. She's a tough cookie (what's a cookie?) and I don't know if she would be ready to be tied down any time soon."
She paused for a few seconds, "we once had a sow who didn't want to be mounted. Suffice to say, the poor piggy got a nasty kick to his family jewels. Protect your jewels Haji, don't mount her too quickly."
She attempted to contain her outright laughter but couldn't and got many stares from the soldier around her. "God she would kill me if she heard me comparing her to a pig I once owned. Don't get me wrong, pigs are feisty creatures, but Kat is too graceful for that."
Jina watched as Haji stared at her blankly, maybe he didn't understand the joke (maybe he didn't find it funny). Jina didn't really care and she stood up from where they had eaten. "What now?" she asked.

Jina knew that this was a matter of honor. In fact, she had just planned to request the funds from her officer, but accepted the man's money with a smile.
"I would be more than happy to take this to them. You are a good man, and I hope you do well from here. You know where to contact me if you need something, I will do my best to assist as long as the Big Bo-....Lord Date allows it."
She put the money in a small coin purse, counting as she dropped it in. The money was actually more than she had planned to give the family. Glad that they would be fully compensated for their help, she bowed respectfully toward the man in front of her.
"Come and see me if you plan on joining up with the Date. I'll put in a good word."
"Zai jian" She smiled. In her home country, this phrase is one that is said when two people are leaving each other. It roughly translates to "We will meet again" and this is exactly how she felt about this man, Hake. She hoped to meet him again.

Day 11 - Admittedly, Jina was glad that the two had eaten the boar last night. Both of their stomachs were full, too full for breakfast. Remenants of the boat had begun washing up on the beach and the two unlikely (and still unwilling) pals began building themselves a raft to escape this horrid place.
Day 12 - Raft building unsuccessful. When they had collected all the wood they needed, they realized that they had no rope and nothing to tie the raft at all. Jina began weaving (as best she could) rope from the bark of some of the softer trees on the island. Kazuhiro remained useless, having no experience with his hands. He weaved like a newborn.
Day 13 - Weaving continued. Half of the weaving was accidentally burned and as much as she didn't want to admit it, the burning was Jina's fault. She expected to be yelled at by Kazuhiro, but he remained quiet, attempting to weave his part of the rope.
Day 14 - Rope weaving continued. Jina stopped yelling at Kazuhiro and instead clicking like she would with a dog. That didn't last due to Kazuhiro's explosive response. He refused to be treated like a dog. Yeah, he was right, she agreed. She began just looking at him funny when he messed up.
Day 15 - Rope weaving finished. Kazuhiro had stayed up all night finishing the weaving. Jina was so happy upon waking up that she actually cried. Kazuhiro just looked at her until she finished. They spent the rest of the day attempting to rope together the raft.
Day 16 - Raft completed. Yey! Boo. The raft fell apart in the water. The two lost all of their rope, wood and supplies. Fresh water and food were lost as well. Later in the evening, some of their things washed back up on the beach.
Day 17 - Rope weaving began again. Kazuhiro was much faster with this now. The two had almost finished the rope weaving when they found that there was no more bark to be peeled. Jina and Kazuhiro had to begin searching for something new to make rope again.
Day 18 - Just before sunset, Kazuhiro found another tree that was growing higher on the mountain with soft, peelable bark. He collected as much as he could and carried it back to the camp. Jina was once again happy, but this time didn't respond hardly at all. As much as she was glad that he had found something, it was almost as if she held a small grudge from the first few days. Lately it seemed that Jina was screwing up instead of him, and she was embarassed.
Day 19 - Camp was attacked by some kind of small wildlife. The animal took their food, put out their fire and took a s**t where Jina had made her bed. Wonderful. Kazuhiro snickered at her, so she flinged the poo at him. Ha, poo face.
Day 20 - Weaving of rope once again completed. Jina and Kazuhiro not speaking due to the poo-flinging incident. They had planned on starting the raft the next day, but things were looking...bleak.

Jina could hear what Katsumi had said, but chose to ignore it. The woman obviously had some kind of issue in her past that wasn't ready to be touched upon, and Jina wouldn't push. The fish cooked fairly quickly, crisping up around the edges but still flakey and juicy. She always enjoyed a good piece of fish and this woman, Katsumi, sure knew what she was doing.
Before she could stop it, a small string of drool fell from the corner of Jina's lips, sizzling on the fire. It was almost as if she was in a trance, her face moving closer and closer to the fish (and flames). The sizzle startled her and she pulled her head back. She was glad that her hair hadn't caught fire, and smiled awkwardly at Katsumi.
Until the fish was fully cooked, Jina decided to lay back on the ground once again, keeping her from being too weird in front of this new friend. Her fingers played in the strands of grass.
She sat up quickly, a thought in her own mind having caused some panic.
"I'll be able to get married again, won't I?! They couldn't possibly expect me to still be with that bastard of a man, I can get married again, right?!"
Her words spewed quickly from her mouth, her voice a bit raised and her eyes wide. Jina longed for a real relationship and was scared when she thought about her past having followed her.

Jina cracked a smile, she was glad to hear that Haji had no conflicts with being Kat's forever. She knew what it was like to be forced into something you didn't want, and she was glad to see that two starcrossed lovers had somehow found each other. She wanted them to be happy, it was something that gave her hope for herself.
Jina genuinely wanted to find someone someday. Her husband was not someone she chose, wanted or even was attracted to. The man simply wanted a young bride and Jina's father had agreed to the dowry (Chinese Bride Price) that the man had offered her father. She remembered her wedding day...
She hoped that one day, she would be able to remarry. She wanted to find a man that meant as much to her as Haji did to Kat. She was saddened by her own loss, but brightened at the same time by Kat's. She wanted nothing more than for those she cared about to be happy, and she certainly cared about Katsumi.
"I'm happy to hear that." Jina paused. "Wouldn't want to see you disembowled." Her face was serious, but only for a moment. Then she smiled widely, showing that she would do it if need be, but didn't expect that she would have to.
"When you guys get married, be sure to invite me. I want to make Kat look...well, I want to make sure that she takes the air straight from your lungs when you see her."

Jina looked back as the woman with the fish came running towards her. Just as she was about to get close enough to have a comfortable conversation, some kind of large bird of prey came swooping from the skies and snatched the large fish from the woman's hand.
Jina chuckled, the fish had been given as a gift to the woman but she had been reckless and given it to a hungry bird unwillingly. The woman's feet stopped immediately and her mouth hung open, slightly in shock and slightly in anger. Her fish, a gift, had been taken from right under her nose....literally.
"Ma'am, I hate to tell you this but, that was your fault." Jina said this between her heavy giggles and watched as the bird flew out of reach on top of one of the roofs. A woman on a horse was riding towards them as the fish guts flew from the roof on to the road below. The fish didn't stand a chance.
As the bird finished his meal, Jina continued to watch. The woman had left her a while ago but the creature fascinated Jina. She had never been this close to a bird of prey and the way it at fish reminded her much of her own self.
God...Jina loved fish.

"On the east side of the city, there are escorts. They will take you where you need to go, for a price. I've heard the cheapest ones are somewhat shifty...so you might want to just pay the higher price."
Jina chattered on about the places to eat and the different shops. She told him about the "rules" of the city, and warned him of the Date patrols. "You're right, not all soldiers are as..honorable as you would hope. Don't get yourself caught in a back alley, even if you're doing nothing wrong.."
"There have been some horrible stories."
The city inched closer with each step until they were about a hundred yards from the gates. "If there is anything you need from me, please let me know now. Otherwise, we may never see one another again."

"The Date didn't expect for a man to steal my rice."
Truthfully, she didn't want to fight. She knew that this man would crush her like a bug, but he seemed...less violent than before. For that, she was glad. She knew that something bad could still happen, so she watched her words but continued.
Though, she did feel as though she needed to defend herself. "I was only searching him so that I could still afford to eat." She didn't move and her breathing slowed. She was calm, but calculating.

Jina wasn't stressed by having to help this man to safety. She was glad that they had only taken one break so far, since it seemed his strength was coming back. The man's stamina clearly wasn't high even at full strength, so she felt confident in their progress.
She often reminded him that they were almost there. Soon enough, as the road crested at the horizon, the site of the city could be seen even in the distance. Cheerily, Jina pointed this out to Hake and hoped that he smiled from inside his cloak.
She was sure that they looked like a wretched couple, a cold, panting man with a walking stick and a Date soldier. Jina didn't really care what the people thought of it, she was glad to be helping him.
"Luckily, I haven't had to use them for...defense against men's advances. I've been quite lucky in that respect. Though, my husband was never really attracted to me anyway..."

"One should not be ashamed of fear. If dying is the weak way out, then fear is what would save me." She wasn't really afraid much anymore, though she felt as if something were crushing her. It was a strange pressure that she hadn't felt ever in her life, plus the man's eyes turned red.
Okay, maybe she should be afraid. "Fear is the reason any of us survive, and it is the reason for your strength. I am not ashamed of my fear, because it is real and justified. You are a man to be feared and I have no doubt that you could kill me."
She wasn't talking to save herself, she knew that it didn't really matter what she said, if he wanted to kill her, he would. She was afraid, but not afraid because she would die. She was afraid that she would die and hadn't yet given her ancestors a reason to accept her. Jina wanted to do something serious and worthy with her life, and she didn't think she was ready to die.

"I also met...Hiroshi by the river." She wasn't sure how to go about it, but if Haji knew of Kat's identity, then he would realize what she meant by her next words.
"He was bathing when I found..him" To just anyone, those words would have meant nothing. To Haji, she hoped that he realized that she also knew of the woman's other identity.
Jina watched at Haji choked slightly and listened to him talk about their closeness. It seemed...gay. Well, only if Hiroshi was a man, which she wasn't. So it's not gay, right? Jina had actually never encountered male partners before, so she assumed now that Haji knew of Kat's true sex.
"She really loves you, you know." Jina spoke with a mouthful of food, sprinkling rice onto the table in front of him. Then her voice got serious, "So you better not hurt her."

Jina nodded when the man asked for a moments rest. She was actually pretty impressed with how far he had made it already and had no problems with giving him a bit to relax.
When they sat down off the side of the road, Jina started a small fire and warmed them a bit, even with the wind blowing, a large rock standing near the fire kept it from blowing out.
"Men know not to disrespect me." She pointed to her swords, "they wouldn't survive long if they tried to make a move. While I don't particularly like violence, I would protect myself until my last breath."
After they had warmed for a while, the two set out back on the road. Jina hoped that they could get to the city before nightfall, as they were moving much slower than expected.

She chuckled at his words. Taking freedom over ones own food. While she ate, she engaged herself in a deeper internal discussion about freedom. She wondered if around the world, there were other parts of the lives of the people that weren't regulated so harshly.
She had often heard of people who worshiped a god and forgot their ancestors, but they were far to the west of anywhere she had ever traveled. She imagined these people to be unsophisticated an unintelligent, but thinking of it as the freedom to choose who you worship was something she had never even considered until now.
It seemed to shine a whole new light on things...
By the time she had finished her own mental debate, the food in front of the two friends had disappeared. Both seemed more pleasant, satisfied and happy. Food had a way of doing that, especially for Jina. Good food reminded her of her mother.
"So, Haji. How did you and....." she paused, hardly remembering what Katsumi's other name was. "Hiroshi...meet? You two seem close." Jina was careful to disguise her words, still unsure of if Haji knew of her identity. From their last conversation on the beach, he appeared to have known but the discussion never unfolded enough for her to be sure.

"I'm Zhuo Jina, from China." She began walking with him as she began her tale. She had bundled up before stepping outside into the nippy temperatures and was pretty used to the cold winter of Oshu. "It is a rather interesting story." She grinned, remembering it herself.
"I grew up in a small village in China, the land country to the west of here. Once I was of age, I was set to marry a man that my father new from the army. After we were wed, he was gone often. More often than when he was around."
Her tale continued, recapping various things that happened including how she had gotten to Japan. "Pirates from this country attacked the city that I lived in with my husband. Lucky for me, they took me hostage and after a while, brought me here." She continued, "I was a mercenary before joining the Date. I haven't always been a woman of strength, but I suppose army blood runs strong in me. Even my ancestors all had a war to fight in.....
I guess this is mine."
After a few more hours of chatting, they found a road which had been traveled since the blizzard. The snow was brown and dirty, foot prints and cart tracks made depressions in the hard white blanket. "This is the road we will take. It won't be long now."

Jina glared at him. The "breakfast" he had collected was some kind of squirrel, barely the size of her fist and some eggs that he had gathered from nests in the trees. There was barely enough for one person, but the boy seemed so proud of himself.
Instead of actually saying anything, Jina began skinning and gutting the squirrel, letting some of the blood fling over onto Kazuhiro's clothing.
They ate breakfast in silence, using wood with holes in it as a bowl. As the day wore on, so did the fire. Jina had spent a few hours checking out the island, looking off into the distance for land and gathering things she thought may be useful.
Truthfully, she spent as much time away from Kazuhiro as possible. She was already furious enough and his nonchalant attitude made it even harder to keep her cool.
The next morning, she woke up and he wasn't sitting near the fire. Instead of trying to find a way out, Jina spent DAY 3 catching herself a meal for the night. The wood on the island was dry so it was easy to always keep a fire going. The only problem now was finding fresh water. She had been savoring what she had left after the ship wrecked (she had grabbed her "wine"skin before the boat capsized).
DAY 4, Jina spent looking for water. She encountered one of the boars that Kazuhiro had mentioned and had managed to kill it. Instead of water, she got more meat. The night of DAY 4, they ate like kings....well, kings of the island.
By DAY 5, both were becoming dehydrated and the search for water became more drastic. On this day, Jina screamed at Kazuhiro for being clumsy about one thing or another. She didn't really have an excuse why, but she felt so stressed, anxious and afraid that she was starting to break. They needed water.
DAY 6, luckily they found a small brook at the base of the mountain. Both drank freely and breathed sighs of relief.

It seems like it is pretty out of hand.
As for the timing, I think there should be an allotted wait time for posts. It can be ridiculous sometimes how long people wait to post in a dungeon thread.
As for rewards, I think players are given wayy to much good stuff too early. I think back to my days playing WoW and I remember the first dungeon. It was hard as hell if you were level 20 but you were given items to match your level.

"Lucky for you, you don't look like a warrior." She grinned widely and let go of her weapons. The man did not seem nervous at all and it didn't seem like he had anything to hide. There was a small sadness in her from hearing the news about his failed trading (and his proposed punishment). He seemed lighthearted about the whole situation, which was good news for him again.
She let go of her weapons and chuckled a bit. She was glad she had made the right decision in saving this man. "There's no need for you to continue on your own. While I cannot take you south from here, as that is not my patrol territory, I can take you to Yonezawa, the main city outside of the Date camp. From there, you are free to go."
She smiled at the man, glad that he was now at least given a chance to live. "If you are in danger of losing your life because of a trade mistake, I offer you the chance to go through Date training to see if you are fit for our faction. You seem intelligent, and as a small army, we welcome anyone willing to aid our cause."
