Jina was pleased to see that things had been taken care of so easily. She was a little nervous about the traps as the Constantine progressed but she stood back. Jina didn't want to be caught in whatever may, or may not pop up. She hadn't been one of the ones to take care of the enemies, so she figured it would be in bad taste to grab at whatever the treasure in the chest happened to be.
Jina used her wisdom to attempt to sense if there was any kind of trap near the chest, since she figured a bunch of corpses wouldn't be protecting the glorified treasure that people spoke of in Numa Castle.
"You might just wanna watch it...There may be some traps laid around the walls and on the chest itself"

It happened on accident one night in the pirates cove that Jina stumbled upon some kind of fighting club. Here, the pirates just fought. One at a time until there was a nightly champion. Whoever could defeat the most challengers would win for the night, and win some respect amongst the men.
Jina had been going for a few nights when she finally decided to step up as a challenger. The previous three nights, each of the champions had won three battles. The night was about half way over and the man currently in the ring had already won twice. She had been watching him and assessing his moveset and was sure that she could defeat him.
When the "host" called out for a challenger, Jina pushed her way through the pirates at the front of the crowd. "It's my turn to fight, boys!" Jina stepped into the fenced circle, the boards of the fence cracked and some broken from previous fights. The air smelled like booze and the ground was splattered with blood.
"You expect me to fight some lady?" The challenger asked the host. He shrugged, having heard her reputation from the guys who had brought me to this land.
The guys outside the ring began chanting for the current challenger, they were sure he would whoop her ass. Jina knew the guy wasn't stronger than her, and she was smarter and quicker.
When the fight began, the guy in front of her circled briefly before he came at her, swinging. The ring wasn't all that big, maybe twenty feet across. Jina dodged his hasty attack to the right, ducking under his arm. He was tall, and that was his disadvantage. She came around from the the right and slammed her elbow into his ribcage, effectively knocking the wind out of him. "Ooof!"
"Don't," Jina kicked her foot in a sweeping sidekick into the back of the man's knee, still standing to the side of him as he doubled over from the first hit, "underestimate me."
As he fell to his knees, she once again swung her elbow around against his nose and a loud crack could be heard in the room. The man fell bleeding into the dirt and Jina stood up. The crowd had quieted sometime during the fight, but the adrenaline had kept Jina from noticing.
Jina walked away from the man and yelled, "NEXT CHALLENGER?!"
The next man who stepped into the ring was bigger. He looked stronger than the last but probably wasn't. He was shorter, more compact. In fact, he looked angry. Jina could use this to her advantage. The last guy was probably his friend and he couldn't let the honor of those he associated with be cripple by losing to a girl.
The host signaled the beginning of the fight with a loud hollar, the pirates around the ring could be heard making bets. None of them were betting on Jina, even after the last fight. Her opponent was circling, ready to defend himself. Jina was grinning, she was actually having fun. She was glad she hadn't been hurt in the last fight, because she had not seen how her new opponent could fight. When he didn't come at her, Jina decided to take the offensive. She ran for the side of the ring nearest her opponent and her quickness allowed her to jump swiftly onto a pole supporting the fence. She didn't get a chance to stand there as the man began moving toward her, motioning as if he was going to grab her legs. Instead of allowing him to get any closer, Jina used her long legs and front kicked him in the face.
Her opponent wasn't expecting it, but it hadn't been a very powerful kick. Jina jumped over the head of the man in order to escape his grasp, as he recovered quickly. He turned to face her as she squared up. Without giving him time to swing, she jabbed him once in the stomach, hitting mostly muscle and then did a quick uppercut into his chin.
Jina spun around and elbowed the guy in the solar plexius and then stomped on his toe in the same moment. The crowd was once again quiet, but Jina didn't care. She moved out of the way of her opponent as he lazily swung at her. His punch grazed her shoulder, it would probably be bruised in the morning, but it wasn't really enough to impede her.
Jina let the man swing again, off balance because of a broken bone or two in his foot. He stumbled past Jina and she did a backwards kick into his lower back, sending him head first into the wooden fence, snapping the pole that was laid into it.
The pirates became angry, many of them had lost money because of her. They were screaming and yelling. "This woman won TWO FIGHTS!" "SOMEONE KICK HER ASS" "FUCK HER UP, I SWEAR!"
Jina just smiled at their words. "Any takers?"
Another guy stepped into the ring. He was smaller than the others and moved with grace. He looked like a guy who would wield a sword much like her own.
When the fight began, the guy stayed back but didn't hesitate to square up. He was a fighter and knew better than the other two. He was likely more equipped to deal with her mentally. Jina threw a hook and the man dodged to the back. As he dodged, he grabbed her hand and pushed it back at her. Quickly, he grabbed Jina by the throat. "You stupid bitch." Jina was ready though, and sent a truly powerful kick directly into the man's family jewels. The man's grip fell and as he fell to his knees, she kneed him in the nose, sending the man flat on his back.
"A word to the wise boys, Don't Call Women Bitches."
The pirates cheered, more of them had decided to bet on her now, winning some of the money back. She reached up and rubbed her shoulder where she had been hit during the one fight. She was glad that she was smart enough to outwit these three knuckleheads, but she knew it wouldn't always be this easy.
"What's your name, Miss?" The host asked. "Just call me Jina. I'll be back tomorrow." She smiled as the guys who had won back their money cheered for their new champion.

Jina wasn't all that excited when she heard about the task ahead of her. Once again, she had to prove herself to some man that she wasn't a shrimp with no abilities. The guy, to prove her worth as an employee, set up a trail for her. He told her that she had four jugs of water that had to be carried on a bamboo beam ontop of her shoulders. She was to wade through four miles of river until she reached the mountain. Still carrying the jugs, she needed to reach the top and then somehow retrieve a medallion that rested at the highest point.
What. That was the only thought Jina had at first. Then, This is ridiculous. She sighed and asked the man when she should begin. His response? "Now"
"Ugh." And with that, Jina removed her armor, all except for her shirt, pants and her good luck charm. She knew that trying to walk through the river with extra clothing would just make her job more difficult. She removed her shoes, knowing that they could get stuck in the mud at any time and she would have no way to "unstick" them.
The bamboo stick was placed centered across her shoulders with the jugs of water balancing ontop. "Go, I'll see you before sundown." Jina sighed again and began her journey.
The river was flowing against her legs as she dipped them into the water. Luckily, the water wasn't moving extremely fast, but it was just fast enough to put pressure against each step she took. Again, she sighed. After about twenty minutes, her legs were feeling a burning sensation. She strained against the river but she wasn't ready to face being a failure.
About another twenty minutes passed and she had almost gone two miles. It was then that she considered resting, but knew it would just be harder to get back in the water. Plus, the guy told her that she had to carry the jugs the whole time. Would he really even know?
Jina shook the thought from her head and continued on. Another hour and a half passed before she reached the mountain. Her hair was drenched from the splashing of the water. Her shoulders were almost numb from the weight of the slim stick and her quads felt like they were on fire. Other than that, she was cold. She didn't dare shiver, knowing that any wrong movement could knock the jugs off.
She climbed a muddy bank carefully, not wanting to slip. Jina looked up, the mountain path stretching around the rocks ahead of her.
"Uhhhhgggg..." Instead of stopping, she just continued the journey. The sun was just two hours from setting, so the man seemed to know the distance ahead of her was reasonable. So up she climbed, no shoes with stones stabbing at her soles.
She winced in the face a couple times, small cuts being made on her uncalloused feet. Soon enough, though, she reached a small home. Jina was sure that was where the water was supposed to go so she walked up to the door and kicked it. She didn't really have a free hand, plus her arms were totally numb. She was hoping that someone was home to help her with the jugs.
After a couple minutes, no on answered. She walked around to the other side of the home and noticed a table that was thin. It looked as if it was meant to hold these jugs, as rings were marked into the wood. She looked around again. Nobody was going to help her. She knew that if she tried to move the jugs all at once, they would fall.
Somehow, she managed to scoot one of the jugs onto the table while balancing the weight using her arm strength. Trying to put enough pressure on one side strained her arm a lot and pain started shooting up to her shoulder. She quickly turned and managed to get one off of the other side. Two jugs remained, but that was easy. She finished her task with the jugs and pushed them onto the spots with the rings.
Satisfied, she looked up the path and could see a large beam a few hundred feet away. Her feet pounded the ground as she ran to the beam, not even feeling the rocks under her feet. She was ready to be done with this task, and felt light as a feather without those jugs on her shoulders. As she approached, she could see the medallion hanging off a small hook at the top.
"Greattttt." She muttered, she really wasn't happy about this. Jina didn't have any of her weapons or even a sheath to support her weight enough to climb the pole. She found a branch laying a little farther up the path and grabbed it. It was thick enough that she couldn't break it with her knee, but she was hoping she was light enough that she could use it as leverage up the pole.
Jina placed the branch on the opposite side of the pole, leaning away from it as she held it. She reached it up as high as she could and began her decent. The friction of the branch with the pole along with the pulling of her arms was able to hold her weight. After a little over half way up though, the branch began to crack!
Just as it broke, she released it and wrapped her arms around the pole. At this point, she was just a couple of feet out of reach of the medallion. If she could use her feet as leverage, she could try and pull with her arms. It took enormous strength but she was able to make slow progress up the pole. She had to hurry though or her arms would give on her.
Just as the medallion came into reach, Jina grasped it, pulled it into her body. She slid down a bit, causing her feet to bleed from the cuts earlier and soon enough, her arms did give out. She fell about ten feet but was light enough (and knew how to fall) and was able to stand without injury.
"Finally" She began walking and made it back to the river in no time. Her feet hurt but she could barely tell, she was sore all over her body. Once she got in the water, she could basically walk twice her normal speed as the water carried her down river. The water felt good on her aching muscles and she arrived back to where the man had left her. He was snoring against a tree when she reached the spot.
She quietly got out of the river and tossed the medallion against his chest. She flipped her hair out of her face as his eyes opened in shock. "Do you believe i'm strong now?"

"Goddamnit I can't use this!" Jina's voice could be heard from across the street. She very rarely yelled, so when she did, something had to be up. She exited the store and slammed the door back into the face of the merchant, throwing the bagged item onto the ground. The man had been instructed to clean a shirt that Jina had gotten bloody, and somehow in that process, he had torn over half the stitching. The shirt was ruined and now she had to go find a new one to put under her armor. She decided this one should be black, as to not show the stains."How about next time, you do a job right!" Jina was furious, and some patrons of the resteraunt had turned their attention to her. She went inside, letting the door shut behind her. She sat down by herself, grunting as she landed. As she looked up though, she saw Katsumi with her bow drawn at some large men who were surrounding another woman."Ahhh shit you guys picked the wrong day to mess with Kat!"Jina jumped up and drew her rapier. "And, I'm in a bad mood too. I don't think you guys will enjoy this."Jina began walking quickly toward the men...

"Yeah, I have a small place just a short walk from here. My horse has a shelter there, but yours is welcome to stay in the riding area."
Jina smiled, she just assumed the woman who had nowhere to stay, would stay with her. Jina didn't mind, the place was well insulated and had a roof, which was more than she used to get while she was wandering. She had a place over on the east side of the island for a while, but she seemed to prefer the company of less organized people. That's why she moved near the pirates cove.
"You should clean up first, you never know when your next bath will be!"
Jina was giggling, clearly excited. It felt like she was a child again, actually having a friend! Someone who would talk to her as an equal, not as a woman or an employee, but a friend! Her heart was racing and more thoughts than she could handle were running through her mind.

"Agreed."
Jina noticed the scars striped across the woman's back. She wondered what horrors she had suffered before and blinked as she looked away. The woman was violent, but she also spoke as if it was necessary. This was something Jina could understand, now living off the work of violence.
"Do you have somewhere to stay?"
Jina had no fear of the woman. She was glad to finally have met someone like her and, having a caring nature, wanted no more harm to come to her. Jina would be wary but felt as if friendship was an awesome concept that she looked forward to having if possible.

Jina was still confused by the whole situation, but pretended like this was some kind of normal occurrence for her.
"Uh, yeah I did. His name is Huī, meaning Brilliance in my native language. One of the guys at the cove sold him to me, well...is selling. You see, I have to learn to ride him and until I do, I pay almost all of my wages to the Groom. Some kind of test, I think..."
She munched happily on the fish. She didn't eat much other than rice because of the deal for the horse. She was tired of the bland grain, but glad to have such flavorful fish. Maybe that's a skill that I need to learn, too. Jina was enjoying the fish so much that she briefly lost track of what was going on around her.
"Uh, sorry. It's just so good."

Jina was pulled through the middle door by a dark force and the stench of death seemed to slap her in the face as she was rushing through the air. She squealed a little bit when she hit the ground but she had trained herself on how to fall properly. She rolled with her body, making for a soft landing.
It wasn't too long before she heard the sounds of the corpses coming to life. Knowing she had to act quick, Jina drew her sword and attempted to focus her eyes in the dim light. She could see a few soul-less creatures coming at her and she would attempt to puncture each in quick succession through the heart. She wasn't sure how these creatures died, having never encountered anything non-human before. She did figure though that it needed it's heart so survive, so that was what she tried first.
Her sword would pierce through the skin and straight out the other side of the creature's body, if the hits landed. Because of the thin nature of the sword and her recent weapon upgrade, the blade should slide cleanly in and out of the rotted skin.

Jina's feet felt a little unsteady, but she didn't feel like she would fall. She entered the room, finding a bed and a nightstand. There was little open space with a small closet-like room for travel bags.
"Wait...where will you sleep?" Jina muttered, assuming since he only got one room, that he was intending to stay. The culture she was raised in didn't have a proper instilled reaction for a situation like this. Women didn't really drink, certainly weren't carried off from the bar by a handsome man to an inn with one room.
It didn't really matter. Jina's eyes were drooping slightly and she just wanted to sleep. This man had been very kind to her and she felt bad for being tired. She could guess that there was something more that the man wanted, but she couldn't really fight her body.
"I'm pretty tired." She smiled sheepishly. God, why does he make me feel so comfortable?

[[Ooc: Prose. Thoughts. Words.]]
Jina dropped from Noel's arms, falling flat on her back. What an asshole. She stood up quickly, realizing that he had not dropped her out of rejection, but that there was something very serious about to happen. Just as she looked up, Noel's hand let go of the abnormally large sword, throwing it at the other two.
The other woman, Nao as Noel called her, and the guy with the big mouth were entwined in chains with the big guy about to slash the woman's chest open. Shit...
At this point, there was not much Jina could do. Noel did the only thing he could and Jina's flimsy weapon would do no better than the huge sword flying at them.
Jina screamed, "Watch ou---!" She winced, not sure of what would happen next. If the sword hit Nao or the guy with the big mouth, there would be huge bloodshed. If the sword was thrown just precisely enough, it would block the slashing of the man's sword. The other option would be that the sword would miss the group all together, lodging in the ground somewhere and Nao would be slashed.
This is a badddd situation.

Jina laughed quietly. "I understand. I had little faith in the people around me in the life I used to live. The women were gossips and the men were angry. In truth, I couldn't care less that I left them all behind. Since I have been here though, I have met some intriguing and, frankly, amazing people."
Jina paused to climb out of the river. She once again laid on the bank, letting herself air dry.
"As hard as it is to believe, I'm happy living this way. I've never felt happy since I was a young child."
She smiled at her own words, knowing that the truth of them was a hard pill to swallow. She may not have suffered any abuse, but sometimes even the silence of the world around you is enough to drive you mad. That's exactly how she had to be back in China, silent.
"Thank you, Katsumi. I'm so glad I called out to you, glad I used my voice."

Jina quickly hurried after the lady pirate. More than anything, she knew that if we only had one person with a ranged weapon, she had to be protected. It was NOT a good idea for her to go in first, so her intent was to stop the woman and let one of the men proceed ahead.
Jina tapped the pirate lady on the shoulder, "How about you stay towards the middle of the group? You're a precious asset to this team."
Jina hoped the woman would listen, knowing that things may not end well for any of them if the other woman was injured early on.
After speaking, Jina did a quick armor check and made sure that everything was in order.
Was she really ready for this?

"There are many bad words said about pirates, but the men I encountered were respectful to me." Jina had a fairly pleseant experience aboard the ship. The men had kept her chained below deck, but did not bother her except to feed her. Once they had left the port though, the men had unchained her, seemingly guilty for taking her away from her home. They even told her at one point that they had only meant to hold her for ransom, but never received a word about her husband wanting her back.
The men in Jina's life had never been abusive to her, but had been giving her a dose of harsh reality. "I could very well say that I liked those men. They are, after all, the reason I am here today."
Jina could sense that the other woman was lightening up. Her body was now clean, but she stuck around to enjoy the other's company. She liked the idea of having someone like her to interact with.

Her eyes had lit up when Noel picked her up. Jina really had never been touched by a man. Even her husband from across the sea had little interest in her, and certainly nothing this intimate had ever approached his mind.
Jina's heart was racing and with her mind just a little foggy, she wasn't really sure whether this was okay or not. It felt comfortable, that was for sure, but there was a little alarm going off in her head.
Jina chose to ignore it and instead just smiled widely at the Date man. She really did appreciate what he was doing, but she was worried that when it came time to leave the inn, she wouldn't have the money to pay for the night.
"Uhm, I'd rather just stay out in an open field or something...." Her voice dropped off.

Jina's mouth hung open slightly. There was quite a bit happening around her and she wasn't sure how to react. The twins were fighting each other, there was a guy with red eyes, Katsumi was here and someone seemed to have exposed her secret and there was the possibility that it was all drug related.
"What...." Jina murmured, "...the hell..."
Her hand was extended, ready to be handed a plate or stick of fish, but her mind was swirling with all of the craziness. She shook her head slightly, a physical indication of the clearing.
"Uh...what?"
Damn, was that all she could say? Other words were supposed to come out of her mouth but she was so utterly confused that she wasn't sure what else to say.
"N-not to be rude," Jina started, hoping Katsumi would remember that she had never actually told Jina her pseudonym, "I forget your name." Jina wasn't sure if the man actually knew she was a girl, so she figured it would be best to play neutral for now.

Jina couldn't sense any particular right or wrong direction. She too figured it would just be best to let the others decide. Jina didn't want to be put in a position of blame later if the situation went sour.
"Whatever feels right sounds good to me."
Jina spoke to the group as a whole, attempting to take careful note of their names. She wasn't totally sure where she would fit in the formation since she tended to be better at close range. The corpses made her nervous since she knew that more than anything, she would have to take careful note not to get hit by any of the guards.

Jina hesitated. She didn't know these people and the curious statement from one of the twins threw her off. "Are they drugs...?" Jina asked hesitantly. She didn't want to be drugged of course, and these were just five men sitting around a fire.
She didn't wait for a reaction, but did sit next to the kind one that offered her some of their fish.
"I'll take one without the flavor sticks." She smiled at the man as she talked, "if you don't mind."
She had just been going on a walk on the beach and did happen upon some nice strangers. She had been eating rice for weeks, having to give almost all of the paycheck she received to the man who sold her a horse.
Jina noticed the few horses standing around. "Can one of you show me how to jump some time?"

"Well," Jina began, "We weren't actually on the sea too long. The city where I was living with my husband was attacked by pirates and I was taken hostage. The pirates fled the city with me on board.."
Her voice seemed to trail off, as if in a memory. "It almost feels like a past life. The pirates really gave me a fresh start. And here I am, sword in hand, earning my own money!" It was almost a dream. None of the women back home had ever been given the chance to work for their own money. All of them were forced to stay home and take care of the children, cooking and various other, seemingly unimportant tasks.
Jina had always wanted to be a part of the men's world, and now she really had the chance. No family, and no one to bring honor to except herself.

"Yeah? That's too bad. I was just starting to like you." Jina smirked and moved herself off the wall, walking towards the exit. "Only had enough for one drink. Suppose I'll be going too." She stumbled slightly, had she really drank that much. She tried to play it off. An untied shoelace or something.
Jina exited the bar and stood there, looking at the surroundings. Uh, where was she supposed to go? It was dark out now, and the bar itself didn't have an inn attached. Plus, she didn't have the money.
Reluctantly, she began heading the direction back to where she had seen some clearings. She would make a fire and sleep out there for the night. "See ya--" She stumbled again, still waving back at the Oshu army man.

Jina scoffed lightly, she wasn't intending for things to go this way, but truly she didn't mind much. He was a handsome man, far more so than her husband. I'll never see him again. She thought to herself, happy that she was out of that nightmare of a life.
"Saving someone's ass, as usual." She smirked, trying to lighten the mood.
"I wouldn't take your eye off that monster for too long. You can take me out tonight, if you'd like."
Jina lifted herself into an upright position and turned her attention back to the fight. The big guy had just taken it pretty hard, but he was strong enough to tug back on the chain. She didn't know who the woman was, but to be throwing around something that heavy, much like Noel, she had to be stronger than she looked.

Jina, seeing that the other woman was cheerful and a pirate, she felt more than comfortable in her presence.
"Zhuo Jina, call me Jina. You're a pirate?" Jina had been taken to this land by the Japanese pirates who attacked the city where she and her husband had been living (if only briefly). She smiled, loving the new life. She was able to be more carefree, and had taken quite a liberty to do so.
"I was brought here by pirates." That was pretty much the end of the conversation on her part. She wasn't particularly ready to reveal herself fully to these new people.
"Anyway, glad I'm not doin' this alone. I've heard some pretty nasty stuff about this place." She was rather impressed by the timing of all the separate people who showed up at once. With this size of a group, they shouldn't have too much trouble getting to the treasure. Though-she feared-splitting it would be a problem.
