On The Warring States, you are given the option to create your own quest, of sorts. To do this, you must fill out the form below, and post it in a new thread. If your quest is approved, a member of staff will GM your quest for you.
Type of Quest: This can be a siege, a stealth mission, a training exercise, anything you can think of, that hasn't already been given to you in the SPQs. Be creative; this could also help push the story, if used correctly. Quest Info: The run-down of the quest. What's the purpose of it? What are you gunning for? What do you want to achieve? Tell us here, so we know what to GM! Location: Where does this take place? It's kind of important! People Involved: Is it just you? Are you going to train with two other people? However many people are involved, let us know. Plot-Important: Are you going to try and affect the plot of the story? Let us know if that is your intention.
Rewards will be based on the type of quest and handed out at the GM's discretion.

Your lordship has requested that all units work on their leadership and teamwork. Because of this, he has had his men set up small fields for skirmish. Two companies of twenty men will have a mock-battle against each other.
Objectives: Your company has lost half its men, and the opposing company has the rest pinned down from constant arrow fire. Your task is to set up a victory for your men any way you can, whether it be through flanking or blitzing. Try not to lose any more men than you already have.
Rewards: Up to +3 Wis.
Location: Outside your faction's main camp.
Prerequisite: You must have completed the Rebuilding SPQ.

In a recent training exercise, your army's accuracy with a bow has proven to be pitiful at best. Your lordship has sent his most skilled marksman to give your camp a lesson in archery. All units are expected to hit a target nine times out of ten, under this marksman's watch.
Objectives: You must hit a target from 100 yards in the head. You will be given twenty tries, and you are expected to complete the task with a 75% success rate.
Secondly, you will be given a moving target. You are expected to hit it in the legs. You will be given ten tries, and you are expected to complete the task with a 80% success rate.
Rewards: Up to +3 Dex.
Location: Your faction's main camp.

Name: Oda Nobunaga Faction: Oda Ethnicity: Japanese Age: 26 Gender: Male Height: 5'11'' Weight: 165 lbs Eye Color: Black Hair Color: Black Appearance:Underneath his armor, Nobunaga is a very well-built, statuesque man. His physique is nearly flawless due to his warrior nature, but this has also left him with more than his share of scars. All over his body, you will find reminders of battles fought. He views them as trophies, testaments to the ordeals he's triumphed, and the battles to come. Personality: Nobunaga is a very cold man. He is realistic, yet ambitious. Lives are expendable, if there is something to gain from their loss, and he will not hesitate to make battle with someone who was once close to him. The unification of the country is his current goal, and he will stop at nothing to achieve it. History: Nagoya Castle, 1534, Oda Nobunaga was born. In 1549, he gained control of his father's estate. Several times, he has seen battle with neighboring lords, seeking to take his land, but never have they succeeded. Through conquest and alliance, he has set out on a quest to unite all of Japan under a single banner, the rule of the shogun. Musou: Upon activation, all of Nobunaga's attacks become imbued with the Dark element, allowing him to negate all armor effects when striking his opponent. He can also send out blasts of Dark energy, which seem to do the same thing. Dark Ball: Nobunaga forms a ball of Dark energy in his hand. He can use this to strike an enemy dealing damage equal to his Spirit stat. If he were to strike the ground, he would deal damage equal to 1/2 his Spirit stat to anyone within a 10 yard radius from the blast. Dark Poison: Anyone struck by Nobunaga while using his Musou is left with a dark poison seeping from the wound. This poison lingers for three posts, doing 1/2 Nobunaga's Spirit stat for each post. This ability is stackable. Dark Doppelganger: Nobunaga can summon a doppelganger of pure darkness with stats equal to his Spirit. The doppelganger is constantly in Musou, dealing Dark damage with all of its attacks, and has Nobunaga's equipment and abilities. Lasts one post for every 10 Spirit. Stats:Strength: 30 Dexterity: 25 Constitution: 35 Wisdom: 30 Musou: 30 Inventory:Slot | Item(s) | Weapons |
| Primary | Demon Fang: A sword fit for the Daimyo of the Oda. This blade radiates a dark glow around it, and it seems to pass through armor with easy. +10 Str Power: All attacks with this weapon negate Con boosts.

You will be given weapons to start with. These are totally free! Of course, this also means they will give you no money if you were to try and sell them, but they're here just to get your foot in the door.
You may pick two one-handed weapons, or one two-handed weapon to start. This will use both your Primary and Secondary weapon slots.
Short Katana: The blade is dulling, and the reach is limited. Still, it serves its purpose as a blade. +2 Str
Blacksmith's Hammer: Two hand. This requires both hands to wield because of its weight, but it sure packs a punch. +3 Str -3 Dex
Short Bow: The wood is rotting, but a bow is a bow. +2 Str when firing arrows, +1 Str when striking with the bow.
Monk's Staff: They say it's a monk's staff, but it just looks like a long tree branch. +2 Str
Stone Axe: It looks like you tied a sharp rock onto a stick of wood. Is that thing going to break if you use it? +2 Str
Short Spear: Two-Hand. It seems like a poorly-made spear, with a shorter handle than usual. But at least the blade's a little longer! +2 Str
Hidden Dagger: Limited in range, this blade is typically used for assassinations. +3 Str when stabbing
Dual Sickles: Two hand. These two sickles are connected through a chain, making it hard to use just one. But at least you won't lose 'em! +2 Str +1 Dex
Katar: A dagger that is held with a horizontal grip rather than vertical, making it more akin to a push dagger. +1 Dex and an additional +2 Str when stabbing.
Small Iron Kunai: These kunai aren't exactly well-made, but they're good if you're on a low budget! +1 Str +2 Dex
War Hammer: Two-hand. This large hammer has a heavy head and doesn't look all that durable. But hey, at least the reach is decent! +3 Str, -3 Dex
Katana: A standard katana, though the blade is dulling and the reach is limited, it serves its purpose as a blade. When worn together with a wakizashi, it is the official sign that the wearer is a samurai. +2 Str
Wakizashi: A shorter variant of the standard katana, known as the companion sword when paired with the katana, this one looks like it's seen a fair amount of use. +1 Str, 1 Dex
Special Weapons: If you would like your character to use something eccentric (and this is highly encouraged), send a staff member a PM, and they will build a starter weapon for you.

Weapon Rules You may use any type of weapon your imagination could divy up! This includes sickles, giant hammers, scythes, double-bladed swords, double-sided spears, juuust about anything! The tricky part about having more eccentric weapons is that they're less likely to be found lying around, and they won't be in the basic item shops, but that doesn't mean you can't make them in the custom item shop! There are some ground rules when it comes to weapons: - No modern or futuristic weaponry. Given the time period, those would be a problem. - Whatever bonuses the weapon gives, stats or effects, are only active when striking with the weapon, unless stated otherwise in the weapon description. - Your Strength stat affects just how well you'll be able to use heavier weapons, like two-handed swords, and great axes. - Your Dexterity stat affects just how well you'll be able to use smaller weapons, or more weapons at one time.

Don't see anything you like in the basic item shop? Wanna make your own items? You've come to the right place! The custom item shop utilizes three features to help build your own, unique item: materials, stats, and powers. Materials are each give their own potential to give your item a unique power, and as such have a huge effect on the end product. Below, you will find the material list. Material List Iron: (5 lbs) 40 Yen Power Potential: Strength Enhancement Steel: (3 lbs) 60 Yen Power Potential: Unbreakable Wood: (5 lbs) 40 Yen Power Potential: Defensive Enhancement Gunpowder: (1 Barrel) 80 Yen Power Potential: Explosive Glass: (1 lb) 40 Yen Power Potential: Illusion Stone: (10 lb) 60 Yen Power Potential: Weighted Cloth: (1 lb) 40 Yen Power Potential: Mental Enhancement Straw: (5 lbs) 40 Yen Power Potential: Speed Enhancement Leather: (1 lbs) 60 Yen Power Potential: Additional Force to Elements Mystic Pendant: (Single.) 60 Yen Power Potential: Healing, Light Demon Medallion: (Single.) 60 Yen Power Potential: Elemental, Dark Stat Purchases You may purchase stats to put on your item for a fee of 200 Yen each. To make your item, you must have a minimum of +1 to any stat. A maximum stat cap when you purchase your item would be +5. These stats may go to any category you wish: you can put it all in one category if you want, or have one point in each. It's up to you! Power Purchases The basic cost of a power on an item is 1000 Yen. This means that any item with a power will cost at least 1000, not counting stat and material purchases. Your power may be anything, so long as it pertains to the materials you purchased for the item. This means you cannot have a mystical power on a weapon made from only iron and steel. Be creative, just don't break the boundaries you set on the item. Powers don't have to be bought along with the immediate item purchase. They may be bought with any upgrade, though this will add 1000 Yen to the cost of the upgrade. However, you cannot buy a power upon creation of your item, and then buy another power upon upgrading. You may only buy a single power for your item. Upgrades Your item can be upgraded to increase its stat value! They do not, however, add extra powers. The information on upgrades is as follows: - Your first upgrade, you get +4 to any stat, your second you get +5, and your third you get +6. Any upgrades after this will give a flat +5. - If you add another stat category to your item in an upgrade, this will cost an additional 120 Yen. Ex: Your item gives +5 Str. You want to add Dex on the next upgrade, but it does not already have Dex. this will take the upgrade cost plus 120 to put the Dex on your item. - Your first upgrade will cost 800 Yen, your second will cost 1100 Yen, and your third will cost 1400 Yen. Every upgrade after this will increase the price by an additional 1000 Yen. This means a fourth upgrade will cost 2400 Yen, a fifth will cost an 3400 Yen, and so on. - With each upgrade, you can change your item description. The color, the actual item, everything about it. The only thing that cannot change is the type; weapons must stay weapons, armor must stay armor. - Powers may be bought with an upgrade, if they were not previously on the weapon. This will add 1000 Yen to the cost of the upgrade. - Materials may be purchased along with an upgrade, if you wish. - Basic items bought or found may be upgraded like any custom item. They may also receive powers, but you need to buy materials for the power first. Item Purchase Form Item Name: Materials: Stats: Description: Power: Fusions You can fuse any two items together, and these essentially count as an upgrade. In fusing, you void the stats you get from upgrading (+4 for your first, +5 for your second, etc.) and combine whatever two items you want into whatever else you want to make! There are some rules, however. 1) Fused items can have a maximum of two powers. 2) Weapons fuse with weapons, armor fuses with armor. No exceptions. 3) Fusing two items with two different powers will result in a higher cost, depending on the powers. This may go anywhere from 300 to 1000+ extra Yen in your purchase.

Musou is the energy in one's body that allows them to perform almost supernatural, or mystical feats. Were one able to properly harness it, they could bend the very flames of war to their will, or gain control of the elements themselves. However, very few warriors seem to be capable of utilizing it, as most seem to lack knowledge of how to tap into it. Musou Acquisition To obtain a Musou, characters must do all of the following: - Reach the rank of Samurai (150 posts) - PM a staff member with the Musou you would like - Pass a GM-run trial, assigned by one of the Seven Lucky Gods The type of Musou you would like determines which of the Seven Lucky Gods comes to you, which in turn determines what sort of trial you will have to face. Complete the trial, and the Musou is yours. Fail, and you must attempt a different trial. Musou Rules The strength of your Musou, and how long you can maintain it, is based solely on your Spirit stat. The higher the Spirit, the stronger the Musou. Also, higher Spirit means better defense against someone else's Musou! Certain items can be obtained to boost your Musou strength and defense as well. The items are not purchasable. "But wait, what can my Musou do?!" Well, I was just getting there! What Your Musou CAN Do: - Elemental Control: Earth, Wind, Fire, etc. All of these can be manipulated by Qi! Of course, you'll have to pick one. - Harnessing Light and Darkness: Even these can be controlled! One or the other! - Enhanced Senses: Your character can up their senses drastically! This even includes seeing through walls! - BE CREATIVE: There's almost no limit to the possibilities! What Your Musou CAN'T Do: - Stat Boosts: For the sake of fairness, there will be no stat gains through Qi. But hey, don't fret - there are PLENTY of things you CAN do! Exceptions: All Daimyo and Shogun are expected to have a Musou ability. They are staff run, and as such, it is to be assumed that any you meet can and will have a Musou.

Money In The Warring States, there is a money system (Yen) that will play an important role. It will be very necessary in gaining useful items, such as supplies, weapons, and armor. There will be a variety of ways to obtain it, which will be listed below. NOTE:: Though we use Yen, the numbers have been simplified, for ease of use. Posting: Every post, you will earn 4 yen. It's that simple! Post, and you will be rewarded! Looting Opponents: When you defeat an opponent (GM-opponent, or Player alike) you can loot the money on their person! Banking: There is a bank option on the board! You can put your money in the bank, and every day, you will earn 4% interest! How nifty is that? Completing Quests: From single player quests, to major battles, all of these will yield monetary reward for participants! Items: Items have many types and a variety of uses. They can turn the tide of battle, if used properly. They are also the only things that allow you to break your stat cap. The different types of items will be listed below. Consumables: These items are only usable once, they they are gone forever, and they are the only kind of item that can stack in number. They can offer a variety of bonuses that can last anywhere from a few posts, to the entire thread they are used in. The bonuses can be small, or large, defensive or offensive. Stats can be momentarily boosted, wounds can be healed, all depending on the consumable. Armor: Armor generally gives you extra stats. The armor you get can also provide some nifty effects, depending on what you get. Certain types of shoes can make climbing easier, some gauntlets can serve as bladed weapons, and so on. The possibilities are endless! Armor is going to be your best friend! Don't neglect it! Weapons: Weapons will always give you some sort of damage boost, at the very least. Other effects can vary greatly, from extra damage boosts to elemental attacks. Weapon types are also great in number. You won't be restricted to sword use - there can be fist weapons, dual swords, sickles, giant axes - there are some serious options here! Strength bonuses from weapons apply only when striking with the weapon, unless they state otherwise. When wielding more than one weapon, you will only get the stat boost of the weapon you are striking with. For example: You have two katanas that give +2 str each. You strike with just one. This one strike does not give you +4 str, it gives you +2 str. The same applies for other weapons on your back, or feet. They only apply to the weapon used.
