Conquering the Swamp [Dungeon|Open]

[Morei Haji]

Takehiro to the rescue. The guy was a beast, and I had to give him a lot of credit for being such a badass.

I saw up with a sigh of relief, noticing that both Katsumi and myself were okay, and that Yukimura was fine as well. The group here was a solid one, and I was glad that it was them by my side to endure these weird things from hell.

I got up, sheathing both of my blades. My guard would still be up, just in case, but I would stay near Yukimura as he checked out the void, ready to provide backup as necessary.

"Maybe he's right, Takehiro. You ought to sing to the darkness instead of the treasure." I said as I observed it, tempted to touch it. Maybe not.

[Shinomori Katsumi]

The creature was impaled and launched off of her, and Katsumi turned on her side and quickly got up, drawing her bow and preparing to kill anything else. But nothing was there, and she lowered her bow and leaned over, gasping, catching her breath. Releasing a sigh of relief, Katsumi stood up and bowed to Yukimura.

"Thank you, Sanada-san."

The others moved forward, and Katsumi stood back, observing her surroundings carefully. Eventually her gaze fell to the ground and she rubbed her aching jaw, dark eyes narrowing. That had fucking hurt, and what was it with being attacked and bullied all of the time? It seemed like being tackled to the ground was a past time of hers.

Grumbling to herself, the woman began gathering her arrows and finally stopped, picking up a severed head. She stared into the vacant eyes, thinking back on quite a bit. That night, her past. Walking towards the group, the archer grit her teeth and chucked the head into the abyss, growling, and ending with an irritated huff, "Fucker...!"

As Takehiro began singing and approaching the void, it seemed to stay there. Katsumi threw the head, which landed dead-center in the void - it seemed to be pulled, really - and it disintegrated. The corpses in the room would be pulled into the void, each one swirling into a single mass of dark energy, before the void exploded into rays of light, with four orbs of dark energy flying into the air. The path was clear, and they could escape! But...

Those four orbs of energy would charge back from the ceiling, each one slamming into a different member of the group, knocking them several feet back toward where the chest was. The orbs would circle around in a single spot for a few moments, and would each take up the form of a large knight of darkness. Each of these knights would be facing off against each member of the group, and if they wanted to escape, they'd have to get around these guys, or go through them.

[Amakusa Takehiro]

Takehiro was legitimately about to start serenading the void. But, the beam of light surprised him, and so did those ORBS OF DARK ENERGY HOLY CRAP. He flew back as it collided with his stomach, dropping the chest close to the doorway, and he landed on his back, sliding a good three feet afterward.

"WHAAAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

He continued screaming, turning around and picking up his spear as he watched the beastly knight of pure darkness materialize in front of him. He scrambled to his feet, getting to a defensive position, rather than making the first attack.

"-UUUUUUUUCK?!"

[Sanada Yukimura]

The severed head Katsumi chucked causing him to jerk slightly in surprise, but that wasn't the most surprising thing. What was, was the beam of light... and then ORBS OF DARK ENERGY.

"GAH!"

He would roar out as it collided with his stomach, causing him to fly backwards, his arms crossed in front of him, as he landed on his back and slid along the ground, eventually coming to a stop.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?"

He cried out, as he would turn and retrieve his spear just as a knight of pure darkness materialized in front of him, towering over him by a good four inches. Quickly scrambling to his feet, he would hold his spear in both hands in a defensive position in front of him, not making the first move, because IT'S A F**KING KNIGHT OF PURE DARK ENERGY.

"GOD DAMN IT!"

[Morei Haji]

I watched as Katsumi tossed the dead guy's head towards the portal. "I don't think that's a--"

I got interrupted as I was sent flying backwards suddenly, landing on my back. I groaned in pain and rubbed the back of my head as I looked to see what the hell had hit me.

"Oh fuck me..."

IS THIS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN KATSUMI DISRESPECTS THE DEAD?! HULKING KNIGHTS OF MADE OF DARKNESS ITSELF?! THE DEAD WERE ANGRY! THEY WERE GOING TO DRAG US BACK TO THE UNDERWORLD WITH THEM! OR MAYBE THEY HATED TAKEHIRO'S SINGING! MAYBE THEY HATED YUKIMURA AND ME FOR ENCOURAGING IT!

I drew both of my swords, holding them in front of me as I adopted a defensive stance. No way in hell was I going to make the first move. I was hoping they only looked tough but were actually pushovers, but when was our luck ever that good? I was scared as shit.

[Shinomori Katsumi]

Right after she chucked the head, weird shit started happening. The head seemed to disintegrate and Katsumi froze, eyes widening, and she then took a step backwards.

"W... Wha?" she began to whimper.

This wasn't right. Something wasn't right. The corpses were pulled into the abyss, and some mass of energy burst into rays of light and the girl winced. There were dark balls of energy, and Katsumi panicked, beginning to rush backwards. Yelping, her instinct was to draw up her bow, but she was knocked onto her ass when the ball hit her in the chest.

Tears brimmed in the archer's eyes and she scooted hurriedly backwards, scrambling to her feet. The light began to materialize into a figure and, going on instinct, the girl hurriedly shot at its center, continuing to move backwards as quickly as she could, drawing another arrows, eyes bulged, terrified.

[Oda Nobunaga]

Takehiro: A glaive materialized in the dark knight's hands, and it held it over its head menacingly. It charged over to Takehiro, looking to slam the glaive down upon Takehiro's head and cleave him in two!

Yukimura: The knight charged toward Yukimura, materializing a dark spear from its hands, thrusting it toward him in five jabs in quick succession!

Haji: Dual swords appeared in both of the knights hands, and it charged toward him, bringing one down upon Haji's head!

Katsumi: The knight moved back, swatting the arrow away. Its arms mimicked Katsumi's, and a bow appeared in its hands. Nocking an arrow of darkness, it would fire a single one at Katsumi's chest!

[Amakusa Takehiro]

Takehiro would attempt to sidestep the blade as it crashed toward the ground, taking his spear in both hands. He would do a full 360 spin, aiming to slam the spear into the fucker's helmet, looking to crush it. If it hit, he would try to dash forward and slam an explosive fist into the guy's side!

[Sanada Yukimura]

Yukimura would duck low and attempt to evade to the side, to avoid the rapid thrusting of five jabs at him. If he was successful, using the length of his spear, he would attempt to get behind the knight and jab the blade into the back of its helmet. If he didn't hit the back, he could at least hit the side of its helmet and hopefully knock it off.

[Morei Haji]

I would sidestep, attempting to dodge the blade as it came down. This would bring me to the knight's outside, safe out of the way of the other blade. I would take the katana in my hand and thrust it straight into the opening in the joint under the knight's shoulder, stabbing it into there. If successful, I would tear along and attempt to remove the knight's armor, if not his entire arm.

[Shinomori Katsumi]

Despite her fear, Katsumi caught on to the fact that it seemed to mimic her movements, and swat her arrow away. She continued to back up, noticing the shadowy figure aim at her. Immediately ducking down, she would (hopefully) narrowly miss the shot. The archer would take out two arrows before swiftly shooting twice, aiming for the eyes, before jumping to the side, and dropping and rolling. (Kat would do this whether she could fire or not.) She needed to be quick and move in zigzags. Kat couldn't afford to be shot.

Takehiro: Takehiro's spear shattered along the knight's helmet, and it was no longer usable! Before he could get any punches off, the knight's arm took Takehiro by his side, flinging him through the air, and he would land on his shoulder, rolling a good few feet before stopping. It felt like something was shattered! The knight would appear at his side, glaive in the air, aiming to bring the blade down upon Takehiro's neck and decapitate him!

Yukimura: Yukimura would successfully maneuver behind the knight, planting his blade in its helmet! It quickly responded, however, ramming the butt-end of its own spear into Yukimura's stomach! Almost instantly, it would whip around, slicing at Yukimura's stomach! If he did not dodge, he would have a deep, searing gash!

Haji: Haji was successful! He dodged the attack and got his blade in the shoulder joint of the knight's armor, where he could rip the spaulder away from the being! It let out a shriek, spinning around and back-handing the boy across the face!

Katsumi: Katsumi successfully dodged the arrow, sending her own into the knight's eyes! While it did not have any physical eyes, the arrows pierced the helmet and it shook, all movement ceasing afterward for just a few seconds! Katsumi had to act quickly, because it would nock three dark arrows and shoot horizontally at her stomach!

[Amakusa Takehiro]

Takehiro let out an audible grunt as his elbow struck the ground, and he could swear something cracked. He didn't have time to figure out what, though, as he had a glaive aimed at his FUCKING NECK. He flexed his core, raising his head so the blade would pass just behind his head. Pushing himself back to his feet, he would attempt to get behind the bastard and slam his fists into the fucker's sides over and over.

[Sanada Yukimura]

The blunt-end of the knight's spear ramming into his stomach, causing Yukimura to let out a grunt of pain, he did the first thing that came to mind when a spear was whipping for him: He would dive underneath it and somersault, to hopefully dodge it, and if he managed to get into a crouching position, would quickly pivot on his heels and try to strike the knight in his armpit, before quickly slashing his spear downwards to bring it into a defensive position in front of him.

[Morei Haji]

YEAH! I DID IT! I mentally rejoiced before being backhanded by a fucking demon knight of darkness. It caused me to stumble, and it hurt like a bitch, but I would use that momentum to spin around, bringing the blunt end of my sakabato directly to his chest, planning on crushing the armor there. Afterwards, I would attempt to stab my katana directly into the joint on the demon's inner elbow, planning on destroying that too.

[Shinomori Katsumi]

Immediately after her arrow hit and the shadowy figure was momentarily paralyzed, Katsumi wouldn't even give it the chance to fire at her before she started moving again. The archer ran to the side, rushing in a circle-formation around the towering creature. Once coming upon its side, she would move forward, towards it. Removing another three arrows, as she ran in a zigzag to try and prevent from getting shot, Katsumi would attempt to shoot in quick succession at the cracks in the armor of the shoulder of its predominant arm, before dashing to the side and away from the creature, hoping to pull out more arrows from her quiver to be ready for additional shots.

Takehiro: The mercenary would avoid decapitation, and whirled around to the knight's back! His rain of blows dented and eventually destroyed the breastplate, but not without repercussions! Takehiro would find himself swatted to the side by a dark-iron gauntlet to the face!

Yukimura: Yukimura was able to avoid the slash, but as he tried to go for the shoulder joint slash, the knight caught the spear with one hand, tossing it to the side! While Yukimura would be stumbled, the knight grabbed him by the throat and held him up in the air, choking him!

Haji: Haji was able to strike the elbow joint, ripping off the gauntlet! The knight's arm became useless, and one of its swords fell to the ground! However, that arm could still hit things, so a fist of darkness rammed into Haji's nose!

Katsumi: Due to her running, the woman's accuracy would be affected! Along with the fact the knight began moving once again, only one of her shots made it through the armor, rattling the knight for a moment before it charged forward and swung the bow like a bat at Katsumi! Its ends were bladed, so if she were struck, she would find herself disemboweled!

[Amakusa Takehiro]

Takehiro would take the hit like a champ, turning his body a little as his face was struck to try and lessen the pain. Quickly, he would duck under the knight's arm and jump up, sending two explosive punches to its face. He didn't know how to hit the darkness, so he was going to go with just wrecking all of the armor it had on, and hope that worked.

[Sanada Yukimura]

Managing to avoid the slice to his stomach, he was not fortunate with his counter-attack, and would end being sent off-balance by the knight grabbing his spear and flinging it off to the side. Finding himself grabbed by the throat, still gripping his spear in one hand, with the other, he would try to grab one of the katanas on his back, and flipping it around, holding it like a dagger, would attempt to repeatedly stab the knight's hand over and over again, to get him to let go of him.

If he was let go, after dropping to the ground, after placing the katana back in its sheath, and with spear in hand, Yukimura would try to strike for the shoulder joint once more.

[Morei Haji]

Man, was I on a roll! But this thing sure loved to hit me in the face in return. I reared back in pain as I got punched in the face, and it felt like my nose was bleed. Angrily, I took my short katana and threw it straight for the thing's eyes. I would quickly run and grab the sword that the beast itself dropped, backing away a reasonable distance in a defensive position with his sword and my sakabato at the ready.
