While under the influence of the Uesugi and having gone through a set of trials, Katsumi had taken a good look at herself, delving into her deeply rooted anxieties and prejudices, and her troubled past. There was a lot to sort through, one of which her constant guise as a boy, her identity as Hiroshi. With it being a man's world, even so she still saw the logic and safety of her mask, but she began to ponder. Would stepping out of her guise from time to time, such as during stays in towns or villages, be such a threat? She had never gone as a woman once in her life, always keeping perpetual fronts up and living in lies. Would it be a relief instead to go as herself and not as Hiroshi just a tad, even if only amongst those her knew her well? Around her allies?
Katsumi wasn't so sure herself, but her mentor seemed to sense the change in the air around her. What could she hide from that damned Kenshin? There was mention of a small gathering, with only a few members coming together for a dinner and he invited her... as Katsumi. Around Kenshin, there was a sense of security, and with so many women in his army.... well, what was there to hide really? While nervous after so many years of living the way she had, the mercenary eventually quietly agreed the invitation for her (and presumably Haji) and the next day in the room she stayed at (again, presumably with Haji) in the local village after going out she found a package containing a beautiful, colourful kimono with hair decorations, an obi, and the works. With help from a trusted assistant of Kenshin's, Katsumi was dressed and prepared, although the dinner was not until the morrow. It was a chance to set eyes on herself and grow accustomed to the style of dress. It was breathtakingly beautiful, and Katsumi couldn't help but stare at her reflection, scarcely recognizing herself with her hair up and decorated, her face lightly painted, and her body adorned in feminine dress. Was this really her? Was this really... Katsumi? Hiroshi had faded and an unfamiliar woman had been left behind. Just who was this girl?

Just as Katsumi began to calm herself and was about to begin washing her hair and form once more, a scream rang out, words from a language she did not recognize. Dark hues widened sharply coupled with a sharp gasp and Katsumi backed further into the water, using her wind musou to push her away. Water flew up as a result.
A man with light coloured hair ran out of the bushes, screaming nonsensically to the woman, wait. Was that a snake he was throwing about? and she panicked. A man. And she was without clothes! In fact, they were over by him. It was bad enough now that she wasn't alone on the island, but the other person was a male and they had to run into one another in these circumstances. Katsumi was petrified that her cover would be blown or that it already had, and she swallowed roughly, sinking further into the water.
Whatever was she supposed to do?!
Thoughts quickly sped through her head and an idea came to mind. While he was distracted with bashing the snake or whatever it was on the tree, a forced gust of wind picked up Katsumi clothing as she moved to the other side of the stream. The petite woman caught the clothing and she ran out of the water, swiftly wrapping the men's kimono top around her form, leaving her legs bare. There wasn't the time for the wrap, or to dry off, or put anything else on for that matter, and Katsumi frowned, closing the kimono with the belt. Dark eyes were narrowed and she used her wind musou to bring the bow to her hand. While she did not aim at the other individual, her stance indicated that she was ready to shoot to kill in a moment's notice if necessary.
"People don't like being spied on," she called out with a false tenor. Tilting her head, Katsumi looked him over. He seemed vaguely familiar, but she couldn't quite place him yet. Suspicion was undoubtedly clear within her tone as the cautious merc interrogated the man. "So... who the hell are you? And why were you watching me? How long were you there?" 'What did you see,' she thought in slight panic, swallowing again and tensing.

Yukimura took up the talking, and Katsumi was grateful. She was far too overwhelmed to really talk and deal with the people at the moment. All Kat wanted to do was shrink away and disappear, and go back to where they came from. This place was scary and the people were strange. Friendly enough, but odd, and Katsumi didn't like all of these questions and such.
When Yuki talked to the blue girl, her blush seemed to increase, and Katsumi found that particularly odd, but didn't say anything.
"Overflowing pa..." Katsumi murmured quietly, sweatdropping at Yuki's words.
Because he had been talking, everybody's attention seemed to be drawn to him, and Katsumi hid further behind her friend. The girl with the tattered clothing laughed the loudest and exclaimed, "Oh man! He's super into it. Holy shit! Hahahaha!"
"Yeah, you rock, man!" giggled the pink-haired girl.
For some reason, the girl in blue seemed to blush when Yuki said overflowing passion. Katsumi peered around Yukimura and furrowed her brows. Tugging at his clothing, the archer whispered nervously, voice like a frightened mouse, "W-Why is... is that man d-dressed like you? I... I d-don't like this place. I wanna go home..."
Yukimura yelled passionately, and she was just as confused as he was. As much as she didn't want to speak and desired to just run away and hide, Katsumi swallowed roughly. "I am... S-Saito Hir... Hiroshi."
"Never heard of that character. From what series?"
"Maybe doing an original character...?"
Katsumi furrowed her brows. Character? Series? What the hell were they talking about? She shifted uncomfortably, hands still gripping at Yuki. "T... That's me. I'm... I'm Hiroshi... I'm not some... c-character in a s-story..."
The pink-haired girl jumped up in the other boy's face and grinned victoriously, poking him in the chest. "HA! TOLD YOU! Totally a real life bishōnen! Aww yeah!"
He seemed dismayed and shook his head. "W-What?! No way!" He went up to Katsumi and looked her up and down, and she move to Yuki's side to try and continuing hiding from him (although he just kept walking around to look at her.) "Even under those clothes, with those hips, and that face, and hair, and how tiny... and... and tha-"
"PERV!"
His hands rested on Kat's shoulders and he looked down at her, pulling the archer towards him a little, so that she was facing him. "Are you seriously a boy? My perv senses xD instinct tells me you aren't. You... You are just so pretty. Come on! Tell me you are just jerkin' me. You gotta beee!"
This shit was freaking Katsumi out, and when he grabbed her shoulders and pulled her closer and said all of that, the girl squeaked and, after hitting his hands away, a sudden gust of wind blew him back.
"Holy shit! You okay?"
"W-What was t-that?!"
"Wooow! What the fuuuck?! How-? What-?"
They were looking around, trying to figure out what the source of that was, and Katsumi went back to clinging to Yukimura. The pink-haired girl didn't really seem to notice, figuring her friend was just being clumsy and fell back. Instead, she was scrutinizing the two and she blurted out, "So are you two, like, gay lovers or something, or is that just part of the cosplay?"
"W-W-Wha-at?!?!?" Katsumi stammered, a deep blush colouring her cheeks. She fell back from Yukimura and held her cheeks.
The pink-haired girl pointed at Kat, "Uke," and then at Yukimura, "Seme." She then nodded enthusiastically and giggled. "Yup! Most definitely~! Will you kiss each other~? Teehee~!"
"And look who's calling me the pervert," exclaimed the teenage boy. He had brushed off the wind as just some weird coincidence.
"Shut up! You are still totally more perverted than me. Touching a little boy!"
"Yeah, and you are telling them to go make-out. And lalala! Don't believe it still! Nope nope!"
Oh Susanoo! How did he know? Katsumi was so confused and overwhelmed, and she felt like curling up in a ball on the ground and crying, tears brimming in her eyes. Her chest was rising up and down, and it was clear she was struggling with breathing properly, breath a little ragged.
The oldest of the group seemed to notice something was off with Katsumi and he remarked with a sigh, "Guys, it seriously doesn't matter. Lay off."
They continued to argue and bicker, and he merely rolled his eyes, pushing up his glasses, and moved over to Kat. He knelt down, concern in his hues, and he asked quietly, voice hushed, "Hey, you alright? They don't mean anything by it. They're just stupid and obnoxious, is all. Name's Takashi, by the way."
Katsumi didn't really understand what was going on, but this was definitely a different dimension, or world, or SOMETHING. Were the gods fucking with them again? Was this another trial? With the girls exposed as they were and nobody thinking anything of it, Katsumi felt like it would be alright to at least admit to this one. Maybe. Really, Kat was just overwhelmed and he seemed to be reasonable and not so intimidating and strange.
She bit down on her bottom lip and wiped at her eyes, whispering back, "K... Katsumi. And... just... o-overwhelmed..."
He sighed and shook his head. "They overreact towards cosplayers. And they are both perverts. Nothing to be done about it really. But... it seems like this might be your first time since those guys are bothering you so much, so I'd suggest not cosplaying next time. Yeah?"
This guy seemed really down to earth and pretty... nice, actually. Still, she didn't really understand what he was talking about, and she murmured, "I... uh... well... I don't... r-really know... w-what you mean... by... co...su...prayeru..."
His eyes narrowed slightly, but not in anger. There was genuine confusion and honesty from Katsumi, and this confused the modern guy. "You don't... What?"

Her abusive father had made it so that Katsumi was well-trained physically, but before meeting Kenshin she had never really trained her spirit. She had never really believed in the gods, knowing very few stories about them. Perhaps once her father had been a godly, religious man, but never when Katsumi was alive. She had never even entered a shrine until more recently, and her belief and faith in the gods and magic only born within the last few months after all of her various encounters with them and now having a musou.
She was very grateful towards Kenshin, for him helping her train, especially with the mind, and was now before a cave. Kat was to go through it, and had been given a vague warning about how this would be a great challenge she would need to overcome... from within.
Trusting in Lord Uesugi, Katsumi entered the cave and immediately realized what he meant. Her senses... they all disappeared and the archer found herself wandering aimlessly. Even with the warning, Katsumi was frightened. She had gone without sight, working in the shadows plenty of times, but to not hear or even feel... it nearly shattered her. Katsumi was probably crying, but the tears rolling down her cheeks registered nothing. She had seemed to collide into something, and Katsumi figured it was the wall of the cave. Having tripped a bunch of times, the archer kept on the wall to give herself balance. While she could not feel it, she knew it was there and continued onward. Perhaps she could not trust her own senses, but Katsumi could trust the wall to lead her where she needed to go.
Time slipped by and Katsumi worked on calming herself down while heading forward, telling herself what she knew and that she would make her way out of this, and eventually back to the Uesugi camp. She would succeed for Kenshin, showing him that she was not a waste like her father had claimed over the years, and then she could see Haji. Be in his arms again. Hold him. Yes, those kept her going, and eventually everything came back at once once she exited the cave.
Never before had sunlight felt so incredible. Tears streamed down her cheeks, and Katsumi fell onto her knees. Her fingers ran through the grass and she rolled on the ground, breathing in deeply, enjoying all of her senses, realizing just how much she had taken most of them for granted. She stayed there for several house, resting and enjoying herself, feeling peace of mind for her revelation, before finally heading back. But this time she was not afraid as she traveled through, knowing what to expect and that she was far stronger than she ever realized. Even without her senses, Katsumi could keep going, and that was an incredible thing.

For a while now, Katsumi had been doing a lot of work for the Uesugi faction, and now even work for Takeda. Learning more about the two, she realized that that wasn't exactly orthodox and probably wouldn't have made either leader (or members) of the factions very happy, so she kept it to herself. Katsumi had people she cared about and respected from both, and would not choose if she didn't have to. She was a mercenary, through and through, and so she felt that she didn't have to truly ally herself with only one group. … Right?
Katsumi had been spending time with Yukimura, and things were getting hectic with the Takeda faction. There was a lot of work to do, and he was swamped with jobs. Hoping to lighten the load, so to speak, Katsumi offered to take some of them on, hence why she was now weighted down with gear, with a wooden crate on her back, trudging up a mountain.
Well, this sucked. But a job was a job, and it was to help a friend...
The wind was fierce, but Katsumi lessened it with her musou, making at least that part easier for her. But the snow was falling quickly and what would have been snow at most people's ankles was practically up to her knees, and it was fucking freezing! Katsumi's teeth chattered and she trudged along through the cold.
She probably could have stopped and rested, for twenty miles was a long way, but Katsumi was afraid of freezing whilst asleep, so even as night fell after traveling many miles, she continued her journey, body aching and weary.
As more time and miles passed, Katsumi heard the howls of wolves and she stiffened. The girl must have appeared to be easy prey, small and slow, and she grimaced. Removing the crate and setting it down, she pulled out her bow and slowly turned, searching for the wolves. The howls continued and there were snarls, and Katsumi knew this was going to turn into a fight. Wolves were typically fine, but they were hungry and she was by herself. The opportunity was seemingly perfect.
They charged at her, but she quickly took some of them down, and the others fled. With a sigh, Katsumi took the crate and continued on, struggling through the snow all night. It was daybreak and she could barely keep going, forcing herself to move on. Eventually she reached her destination, practically collapsing in the building. She was glad to be by a fire and to get food in her belly, and to finally rest. Very glad.

Katsumi wanted to say that she was sorry, blaming herself for the whole ordeal. Yukimura of all people didn't deserve Takehiro's (or anybody, for that matter) wrath. He was a good man, an honorable person, and incredibly loyal. Katsumi trusted him with her life and her secret, and the girl so terribly wished she could magically fix the damage that had been caused. But she could not, and Katsumi remained silent as her friend continued to speak.
There was even more that was done, it seemed, and the girl's brows knit, bottom lip being nibbled as well. All of what he said... why, it was incredibly troublesome, and the situation for Yuki was much worse than she anticipated. Even Haji was avoiding Yukimura, and that saddened her.
But she had no change to respond or really reflect on much, as they suddenly found themselves someplace.. well, Katsumi had no words for it. Her eyes widened sharply and she gasped loudly at seeing some large object rolling at a great speed towards them, and Yukimura pushed her out of the way, narrowly missing whatever it was away. Katsumi quickly stood up, glancing about wildly.
Everything was different, much different, and she was soaring, odd-looking buildings, and things made of materials she had never seen. There were all sorts of sounds all around her and Katsumi twirled about, chest heaving up and down. A loud noise (screech) sounded right behind her, followed by a repeated sharp noise (honking), and Katsumi swiveled around. It kind of looked like the same thing that nearly hit them and as it nudged forward, the sounds coming in quicker intervals, Katsumi backed up, convinced this was some sort of monster.
"G-Get away, beast!" she yelled, fear filled within her eyes.
Katsumi attempted to use her musou to move it, but it hardly did a thing, and she consequently removed her bow, aiming for the car. The spirit arrow appeared and before she fired, there were shouts from nearby.
"Wow! That's amazing cosplay!"
"Yeah!"
"Hey, get out of the road! Come over here! Convention is over this way. Going to get your asses arrested if you take the cosplay shit too far."
"Yeah, that's no place for the road. Hurry on up over here!"
She glanced over at them and they were definitely people, about her age or so, although they were dressed peculiarly. And she had absolutely no idea what the hell there were talking about, besides moving over to them. More of the large, scary objects/creatures were stopped, what looked like people inside shouting while the sounds were being made, and Katsumi grabbed Yukimura's hand and dragged him over to the teens.
Kat was panting heavily, panic-stricken, yet she managed to bow her head. She clutched at her chest and her bow, and murmured, "T-T-Thank y-you. W-What... W-What are t-those t-things, and... and w-where are w-we?!"
The teenage boys and girls looked at each other and began to to laugh. One was a boy of average height with shorter, spiked up hair, dressed in dark clothing and with a weapon that was not made of any metal or material Katsumi had ever seen (in fact, it didn't glimmer properly), while the other boy, who appeared a bit older, was taller with short, combed back, brown hair and a more serious, concerned expression. Three girls were with them, all just as excitable as the first boy. One had pigtails and pink hair, wearing an outfit that was quite revealing and nothing like Katsumi had ever seen (mini skirt and tube top lol), while another was wearing a long, blue dress and had hair cut at her chin, and the last, who had a really short cut (yet was clearly a girl with her figure) and had numerous piercings, was wearing pants made of some strange material (jeans), and they were tattered, and some odd shirt thing. Was that a jacket? Katsumi couldn't be sure. She was on overdrive and didn't even have the chance to take everything in because suddenly Yukimura and her were surrounded, bombarded.
"Man, she is really good. Totally convincing."
"Haha yeah! And she? Don't you mean he?"
"What? No, definitely a chick."
"Nah, he's definitely a pretty boy."
"What do you think, Kata-san?"
"What? Uhh... I dunno..." the girl had been staring at Yukimura (mostly his abs), and she blushed a little, glancing over at her friends and Katsumi.
"Whatever," the girl waved off her friend, who went back to nervously looking at Yukimura (and his spears heh heh). She then stared at Kat and asked abruptly, "What are you?"
"Girl, right? I can always tell~" The teenage boy stepped closer to Katsumi, leaning in and winking, and she grew very uncomfortable. His tone and the look in his eyes made her squirm, although she wasn't quite sure why.
"Gross, perv!" she punched the teenage boy in the arm. "No, he's definitely a dude! A super pretty dude! Right?!" she looked over at Kat, who was on overdrive, eyes practically spinning in their sockets.
Off on the side, the girl in the blue dress inched towards Yukimura, brushing at her hair nervously. "You work out a lot, d... don't you? Ahem..."
"Way to be obvious," the other one snickered, and Kata blushed deeply. She looked at the two of them and raised her brows. "Those weapons are seriously impressive though. They look almost real... Are they?" She grinned. "That's definitely not allowed, but I won't tell. Heh."
"Yeah! How did you get your bow to light up like that. That was fucking bad ass!"
"She still hasn't answered our first question."
"He!" she chimed back, and they squabbled some.
"I... uh... ah..." Katsumi clutched Yukimura's arm and began to hide behind him since they were preoccupied. She was beyond freaked out and entirely bewildered.
The tallest amongst them rolled his eyes at his friends and sighed, shaking his head. There was a seriousness within his eyes as he looked at both Yuki and Kat, and told them, "Seriously though, you are getting too into it, you two. You could've gotten yourselves killed. Next time, avoid the streets. Tone down the alcohol, drugs, imagination... whatever it is. Okay? And real weapons aren't allowed..."
"Stop being such a fun killer, Takashi-kun~" remarked the pixie-cut girl, hitting him in the arm and grinning widely. "He was class representative back in school. Just as serious back then. Boring as ever. Haha!"
"At least I'm not a yankee..." he murmured, eyes narrowing slightly.
She waved her hand up and down, dismissing him, although it was evident that his claim for her being in a gang held some truth (not that Kat knew wtf they were talking about). She stuck out her tongue at the end. "Ignore him. Eh heh~ He's just a sour, old man. At twenty-five, he'll be dust."

Oh Susanoo! What in the world was that sound?! Suffice to say that as she jumped, Katsumi's eyes widened and she gasped, glancing around and above and below her. What the fuck???
She shook it off and landed safely. Ahead, Katsumi saw... weird, likely drug-induced (she is convinced she is high lol) creatures The young woman had never seen anything like them, and furrowed her brows. They appeared to almost be... guarding the tower, with chains keeping them secure. Clearly they were fast asleep, and Katsumi knew it would not be wise to wake them up. She had to get past them stealthily them, as there was nowhere she could really land safely on the tower. In fact, there didn't even seem to be windows (besides perhaps tiny ones Katsumi could not see), and Katsumi immediately pitied the lord's daughter.
With a soft sigh, Katsumi used her musou to jump in the courtyard, landing softly on the ground, and she crept quietly, sticking to the shadows. As she drew nearer to the creatures, the girl slowed her pace and breathing. She slowed down to nearly a crawl, hoping to Susanoo that she could slip by these creatures without any trouble.
Katsumi eventually stopped and bit down on her bottom lip. It seemed too risky, and so she moved over to the nearest wall, pressing herself against it. Picking up a stone, the archer chucked it as far as she could, hoping the creatures would leave to investigate and she could slip into the castle while they were distracted and not be detected.

The whirlwind was tiring, but at least it worked! And that was all that mattered to her right now. But the giant snake retreated again, and Katsumi hissed in anger. She checked quickly on Haji and paled at seeing him in such a state. Tears brimmed in her eyes and Katsumi sniffled. "I... I promise I will p-protect you, Haji-kun. I'll... I'll ensure you make it through this. I... I p-promise."
Using a gust of wind to move objects to block off the entrances after resetting her blade on fire using the same strategy as before. Katsumi walked about warily, dark eyes warily searching her surroundings.
"Come out, you bastard!" she shouted. Normally, Kat wasn't one to talk much, but she was infuriated and didn't have much time left.

{Str: 20 (45) | Dex: 40 (116) | Con: 20 (48) | Wis: 37 (64) | Spr: 32 (55)} Katsumi remained silent as Yukimura explained the location, her excellent eyes searching warily. Despite her power, she would always be on edge. It was not wise to let one's guard down. Hence when another appeared, Katsumi lifted her bow some, ready to aim and fire if necessary. Dark eyes rested on this pirate girl, head tilting to the side as the merc looked her up and down. She didn't appear to be any trouble, but one could never be sure.
The merc did find it curious though that this one was openly a woman, and Katsumi bit down on her bottom lip a little, holding back her questions and curiosity. They were inappropriate and so the disguised female continued to not say a word.
Although it was not as though Katsumi would have had time to ask anything, as they were pulled into a vortex, very much like at Numa Castle. It was less of a shock this time, and upon entering the new room, Katsumi had her bow drawn, ready for anything. She caught sight of a treasure chest a ways away, and immediately suspected traps. Like at Numa, there was simply no way it'd be that easy.
Putting her bow on her back, Katsumi stepped forward and looked up at Yukimura, replying, "Yukimura-san, my ability... it is best suited for such. I can be in and out within moments..."
A long jump supported by wind to the very end, grab the chest, and a single push and gust to jump back. Sounded simple enough, as long as she didn't fuck it up. Right?

Katsumi stuck close to Haji, focusing on enemies farther away and acting as support. If anyone tried to attack him, those near them, or herself, she would shoot to kill. If they came too close, she would use gusts of wind to push them back or, if necessary, use the bladed bow to block any attacks and slice at the enemies. Her careful eyes searched for enemies and potential dangers, and sought to take them out, or at the very least avoid them.
She knew this couldn't be easy for Haji, and hoped primarily for his sake that the battle would end soon.

She nodded in agreement to Yuki's words. "You're right."
Katsumi was surprised to see Shou coming up to them, and he began to say her name with uncertainty. To show him it was alright, she shook her head, looking over at Yukimura with a nod. She remained silent as the two talked about Takeda matters, as it was not her place as a mercenary. When Shou spoke to her, Katsumi bowed her head and her brown hues were warm. "It is. Katsumi's hands went idle, and her walk slowed momentarily. The girl swallowed roughly before forcing herself to move back to her previous pace. Her dark eyes focused on the sharpening of the blade, and she murmured quietly, body language clearly portraying a sense of nervousness, "You... know what happened..."
Her lids drooped and there was a glimmer of sorrow in her eyes.
"I... cannot be a further burden on him, Yukimura-san. On Haji-kun. They... They are friends, and... I won't hinder that. But... I can't... I cannot be around him, Yukimura-san."
She stopped there, closing off her emotions. If Katsumi pondered it too long, she knew the gates would open up fully and that she wouldn't be able to close them. Fear and memories of the past would wrack her, and Katsumi would be overwhelmed. She didn't want to deal with that right then, and so she released a soft, slow sigh.

Since the girl had met Lord Uesugi and began to work for him as a merc, she had been sent for quite a bit of training. The archer was quite used to training, but Kenshin made her train in ways she was not used to (and instead of taking multiple jobs, as what was normally expected with her being a mercenary.) But her deep and growing respect for the God of War made her not question him, really. She did what he said without question, definitely noticing a difference in her various performances since somewhat going under his wing.
But now she was expected to train her spirit, and Kat didn't know what to think of that, only having trained herself physically over the years. But, like with everything else since Kenshin had earned her respect, the archer did as he asked.
And that was how she found herself sitting beneath a waterfall.
Katsumi had endured much pain and discomfort throughout her life due to her harsh and abusive father, and living the life of a mercenary. It was not the waterfall crashing down on her that was the problem. Her mind was able to overcome such a matter. But about halfway through, Katsumi found she had to pee, and not too long after that, she really had to go. And the sounds of the water and being soaked to the bone really didn't help. Unable to leave her position, Kat grit her teeth through it, shifting every so often uncomfortably.
Time ticked by, the water hitting her body, wracking at it, and, with that, her need to pee simply grew worse and worse. But if she got up now, Katsumi would have to start all over. All of this would be for naught.
When the two hours were up, the archer couldn't have been more grateful, practically sprinting over to nearby bushes. After a minute, she walked back out and sighed satisfactorily. It felt good to be relieved.
But things weren't over yet. Putting on a coat and warmer shoes after putting on dry clothes, Katsumi proceeded to trek up the mountain, heading towards a temple. At first, it wasn't so bad, but upon going further up, the weather worsened and Katsumi kept running into trouble, again and again. At first, there was a damned bear. It was hungry and territorial, and Katsumi was forced to quickly take the beast down by shooting it with multiple arrows. Then there was a narrow path on the side of the mountain. While hugging the snowy wall, the ground gave way, and if not for the woman's wind musou, the girl would surely be dead, able to use gusts to rise her up to safety. With her tiny height, getting through the snow was even more difficult, and she had to dig her way to the temple.
By the time Katsumi arrived, she was exhausted and quite grouchy. Yet even now she still wasn't done. The only reason the girl didn't snap on the monks unintentionally was because their temple was warm. Meditating in a warm building was much better than out in the cold, right? Katsumi was really trying to stay positive.
After removing the winter clothing, Katsumi began to meditate, having plopped down on the floor. She closed her eyes and remained in a sitting position, trying to focus on what Kenshin had told her. To find inner-peace. That was something difficult for Katsumi given her nature, and so it took all of her will-power to block the outside world out and search for inner-peace. Hours passed, and many of the monks went to sleep. Yet Katsumi stayed at it, sitting there until the sun came up and the monks left their futons to meditate in the morning. As the sun's warm rays washed over Katsumi, she felt... satisfied, and calm.
Dark eyes fluttered open and the girl nodded. She had found inner-peace.
"I hope this pleases you, Kenshin-sama," whispered the girl to herself. For now, it was time to sleep and rest before heading back to the Uesugi camp.

Normally Katsumi was always with Haji, sticking close to her lover, but for a short time, she hadn't been. After the ordeal with Takehiro, Haji, and Yukimura, she was quite petrified of the former, but didn't wish to tell Haji that. Those two were still friends, and the last thing Katsumi wished to do was harm their relationship due to her own paranoia. And she didn't want Haji to worry about her either, but she was afraid he would begin to suspect her fear and question her as a result. That would lead to concern, and Haji had enough to deal with. Katsumi didn't wish to be a burden on him even more than she already felt that she was.
And so she took on work for the Takeda. Yukimura was one of her very few friends, knowing of her real identity since they first met and proving his trustworthiness. Since he was important to the Takeda, Katsumi felt more comfortable taking on work for them right now.
Since she had been around Yukimura, the girl had noticed that he was quieter than usual, gloomy even. Considering her personality and the fact that she herself was uneasy, Katsumi had not inquired the young man about his behavior. He would tell her in due time, or not at all. It wasn't her place to question him, right?
Since Yukimura didn't speak, Katsumi sharpened her bladed bow whilst walking by his side, keeping her hands busy.

He seemed uneasy, but Katsumi didn't really understand as to why (if anyone should spar and could trust to not get too injured or killed, it would be with a lover, right?), and so she didn't respond, instead waiting for an answer. At his response, Katsumi nodded. "Good. Alright, Haji-kun."
The woman rolled down her hakama and returned her men's kimono to its normal state, and Katsumi then lowered into a fighting position. Inhaling deeply, she closed her eyes, before snapping them open at the exhale, and she swiftly charged forward. While she fully intended to train herself hard, this was a spar, and so Katsumi would only throw a simple jab, right arm guarding herself and left hand going for a punch to his stomach (because she's a short shit xD). Normally Kat wasn't one to strike first like this, but she wanted to gauge Haji, see what he would do.

{Just gonna pretend that Katsumi has been with Yukimura the whole time}
Since after the whole ordeal with the fantastic four, Katsumi stuck to Yukimura, far closer to him. Takehiro made her nervous, his unnecessary attacks and anger frightening her and reminding the archer of her abusive father. He now petrified her, and Yukimura apparently had his own drama with the man. Since Yuki was one of her few real friends, one she could trust and who had earned her trust, Kat had stayed near him after coming across the man not too long ago. Having nothing better to do, the girl decided to help him with his work for the Takeda. The pay wasn't much, but she felt safe near her friend, and that was what she needed most after the earlier scene.
There had been rumours about a temple, about power and evil; it reminded Kat of Numa castle. Believing in the supernatural now, she was not deterred, having her own power now. Instead she was intrigued, and so she continued to follow Yukimura there, leaving the ship with him and heading towards the temple.
Upon entering, Katsumi gripped at her bow, dark eyes glancing about warily, but with a curiosity as well.
"I wonder... if this will be like Numa... What do you think, Yukimura-san?" she inquired, gaze sliding over to the Takeda soldier.

If everything worked out accordingly, Katsumi would sigh upon seeing Hidenori and move over to Haji. She took his hand and nodded, thumb stroking over his flesh.
"Yes, Haji-kun. Perhaps," she paused, biting down on her lip and shifting a bit uncomfortably, eyes casting downwards before sliding over to Haji, "next time, we... can meet under better circumstances. This... is not how... I wish things had gone..."
But this was not the time to talk. Squeezing Haji's hand, she would move towards the main group along with Haji. And when enemies were within sight, the archer would fire as swiftly as she could at as many targets as possibly, using her wind musou to manipulate shots if need be.

Katsumi pursed her lips, before they went back into a straight line. "Mm. I would say... I am the luckier. We both... are quite lucky."
The archer listened to the man carefully, curious about a few things, and surprised by his words. Was she really among the first for him? Was Katsumi not the only one who clammed herself up to the world so severely?
"Am I... really... the second?" inquired the girl softly. Her gaze rested upon the man and after a few moments, Katsumi closed her eyes and bowed her head to show her respect. Maybe to others this wasn't a big deal, but it was huge for the girl. "I... am honored, Hidenori. Thank you... for trusting me with something so... important."
She would quiet and small hands would rest on her lap, tugging at her charcoal hakama. The young woman pondered over the lord of this land and what Hidenori had said. Haji's brother seemed to really look up to the man and after a minute or so, Katsumi would ask, "Kenshin-sama... what... is he like?"
She had heard the title God of War thrown around some, but besides that she didn't really know a whole lot. The reason why she came here in the first place was just to look for work. It was someplace new for her, so Katsumi figured there was likely job opportunities here.

The enemies retreated from the armory. Good. Now their troops were able to transfer the weapons back to their camp. Katsumi nodded in slight satisfaction, but the relief didn't last long.
Upon hearing Haji make an exclamation next to her, Katsumi turned towards him and blinked. "Haji-kun?"
Next thing she knew, her lover jumped off of the chariot and she blinked again. Wait. What just happened? Pulling on the reigns to stop the demon steeds, she looked over at him.
She shouted, "Haji-kun!" When he ran towards someone she vaguely recognized, her brows furrowed and she bit the inside of her cheek. "Tch. Damn it, Haji...!"
The girl glanced back towards the armory and then to Haji, going back and forth. If the enemies were defeated and the armory was in the clean, with an exasperated sigh the archer would sprint after Haji (if not, disregard the rest of this and she would continue defending with a mixture of her wind and arrows.) Upon closing the distance, Katsumi discovered Haji's brothers were there as well.
Well, this was a weird family reunion, or at least that is what Kat assumed. Most family's were like hers where violence was rampant, right?
Having a soft spot for the Uesugi, Katsumi aimed at Mikhael and shot at his sword arm, if able to take the shot, manipulating it with the wind. She didn't want to kill him, but Katsumi also couldn't allow Haji or those on her side to get hurt. If they would simply stand down, it'd make things significantly easier.
"I'm sorry," she would say after firing, words genuine. Katsumi really didn't want to do this. But the situation was complicated. Very complicated.

{I'm so sorry. I literally forgot entirely about this thread. x__x}
Katsumi glanced down at the body and shrugged. Who cared if he died? He caused trouble and fought them. If one of them died, it was their fault. It was a harsh world. One where people had to fight in order to survive. Some lives, many died trying. All died in the end. It was how the world worked.
As the girl thanked them, Katsumi merely bowed her head, still keeping up her male persona as well. "We did what was... necessary. They caused trouble. There is no need... to thank us, really."
She nodded at her words and as the girl offered them food, her eyes slid over to Jina. Katsumi wasn't going to say anything and remained quiet, but she was sure Jina would jump on the offer. If she did, Katsumi would partake as well.

Katsumi didn't expect Haji to offer to train with her or to agree. She figured he would fight her training in order to heal, and she had not been looking forward to such. Katsumi would not have acquiesce, even if she was prone to do so. So him agreeing simply made things easier, and the young woman sighed in relief.
"Okay," answered Kat, who picked herself up.
She was not wearing any armor, nothing to boost her strength or speed. Katsumi was working solely on her base strength, her base speed, her base everything. Every kind of practice was crucial, even spiritual, something she was not used to training before gaining her musou.
The woman glanced at her weapons on the ground and then back to Haji, tilting her head and quirking a brow. "No weapons? Does that.... sound alright?"

Katsumi simply sat in silence, legs crossed and eyes closed. It seemed as though she was meditating, and the girl was clearing her mind as the fish cooked. When she peaked open an eye to check on the fish, Katsumi could have sworn she saw a string of drool hanging from Jina's lips.
How odd. Was she really that hungry? Katsumi's brows furrowed slightly. When did the other woman eat last?
The archer decided perhaps two fish wasn't enough, and stood up as Jina laid down. Still wrapped in the cloth, Katsumi went back over to the river and did as she did before, catching the fish with her bare hands. It was only because Katsumi was practiced that she knew how to do this in the first place. It wasn't about speed, but the right timing and having the proper grip.
After catching two more, the girl would proceed to gut the fish and cook them as well. As she shoved the sticks in the ground, Katsumi tensed, started at seeing Jina suddenly sit up. Kat's dark eyes were widened. Was something wrong?!
And then she heard Jina's question, and Katsumi blinked.
"... What?"
Jina said bastard, and Katsumi wondered if what she had said earlier triggered something just then for the Chinese woman. The archer shifted a little, gaze dropping to the ground and going back up to Jina. It went back and forth.
What the hell was she supposed to do? Say?
"What... do you mean, Jina-san...? softly inquired the archer.

"Hmm... perhaps... you are right, Shou-san."
Living a life on the road sounded quite idealistic to Katsumi. To keep things as they were. To constantly be on the move and taking up jobs. Katsumi couldn't imagine life any other way, and as long as she was with Haji, Katsumi would be happy. She wondered if Haji thought the same, and her lips pursed together.
Thoughts of past flooded back to her as he mentioned travelling with someone and the possibilities. Now that the gates were open, she could not close them. With a sigh and a distant sadness in her eyes, Katsumi spoke slowly once she was sure Shou was finished, "I... used to travel with someone. But... it... was worse than being alone. It was... hell. And then I was alone and... just... surviving. I didn't... really realize how terribly alone I was until... I met him. I never... had anyone... show me kindness... and... l-love me before. Now, I.... I don't ever want to go back. I can't... be a breaking, empty husk again."
Inhaling deeply, she pushed back her emotions. Katsumi was feeling herself get emotional, and this wasn't the time. And there was no point. She was happy now with Haji, which was why she so desperately wanted and needed him to smile again.
She turned her head, looking over at the man. "Do... you want to travel with someone, Shou-san?"
At realizing how forward she was, Katsumi blushed and turned her head away, biting down on her bottom lip. "I... I'm sorry. I did not mean... t-to pry."

{SHIT I THOUGHT IT WAS BRANDON'S TURN THIS WHOLE TIME. BEEN WAITING LIKE A MORON! OMG I AM SOOOOO SORRY! DDDDDx Oh, but so prepare for super feelsy, btw. ;-; </3}
She thought Yukimura was going to calm down, but then Takehiro attacked him. Goddamnit! Katsumi glanced over at Haji, hand squeezing his, and in her tear-filled eyes, she told him, 'Please... trust me...'
Because yeah. Kat didn't want him to flip his shit for what she was about to do. While Yukimura started screaming at them, Katsumi's shield of wind dropped, and the girl jumped up, scrambling away from Haji.
Using her wind musou, the archer leaped over to Yukimura as the whirlwind of fire began and her arms wrapped around him, the girl tightly embracing him from behind. It was unbearably hot, the tears steaming down her cheeks evaporating from the heat. And it was so hot that her flesh burned. Everything hurt so terribly, but she didn't care. No matter what, Katsumi wouldn't let go, wouldn't release her embrace, and she buried her face against Yukimura's back, fingers digging into his chest as she held onto him with all of her might.
"Please, Yukimura-kun!" exclaimed Katsumi. She had never called him such before, always using a formal title. But... she really did see him as a friend. One of her few real friends. He had kept her secret, lied for her. Yuki had been so kind to her. The very last thing she wanted was to hurt him. Katsumi clenched her eyes shut and cried, "S... Stop this. Please! I... I fucked up. I... I'm so sorry! I... I never wanted to hurt you, especially after... after everything you have done. After... After you kept my secret and... and were so... so kind. You... You are my first... real friend, Yukimura-kun. Someone... Someone I can trust and that... I care for."
It was true. It wasn't really fair to call Haji that, as they were definitely something more than friends. They were lovers. And even with Takehiro... they had had such limited and circumstantial meetings. They were mostly acquaintances until more recently. But Yukimura... right from the start when he didn't hurt her like she had expected and brought her to his sister-in-law, after that time in the hotspring... they were friends. Katsumi had never had a friend before, not in her sixteen years of life.
"We're... We're friends... aren't we?" her voice ended with a hesitant squeak. Kat's knees began to buckle, her body screaming from the pain, and a soft, agonized cry sounded from her parted lips. She only held onto him all the more tightly. "Please... I... I don't want to lose the... the people who... who took me out of my hell and the... the ones I... I hold most d-dearly to me. You... You all are that t-to me."
She continued to hug him tightly, holding onto him for dear life, even as she felt hers slipping away. How long could she endure these flames? This heat? Kat's breathing was labored and the smoke from the fire caused her to cough, and the girl whimpered in-between, "Life... is finally... worth living. It's... It's too... too early to e-end it now. So... let's all... l-live it together... Yuki...mura...kun."
The fingers on his chest would loosen, hands slowly falling down, and she leaned against his back, her legs unable to support her small frame any longer.
