Conquering the Swamp [Dungeon|Open]

[Amakusa Takehiro]

Cursing under his breath, Takehiro rolled to the side as the katanas came down. He attempted to avoid getting impaled, 'cuz he liked living. If out of the way, he would put his hands on the ground behind his head and kick his legs upward, striking the guys' chins and flipping back to his feet. If successful, he would charge the guys and sent his fist toward their necks!

[Sanada Yukimura]

Feeling arms wrapping around him, one under his left arm, sticking it straight out and hindering the joint, while the other wrapped around his neck, putting him in a choke hold. His right arm free, he would try to grab hold of the arm around his neck and try to pry it off enough that he could at least breathe. If he was successful, while continuing to wrestle with the zombie, he would attempt to hook his right foot behind the zombie's leg, before yanking it forward, to send both of them to the ground, Yukimura effectively trying to crush the zombie beneath him.

While they fell, he would twist his body to the side slightly, to reduce the impact on his body, and would let out the air in his lungs upon landing, to avoid having the wind knocked out of him. He'd then quickly roll off the zombie and retrieve his spear while also picking up the katana left behind by the zombie he had decapitated, and return back to formation.

[Morei Haji]

The undead soldier's blade passed my stomach, and upon his decapitation, I realized a sharp pain. Looking down, I saw that his blade had cut me pretty deep, and I started to panic as I saw the blood seeping out. I had no time to tend to my wound, however, as I soon found myself tackled by another one of the soldiers, knocking me to the ground. I was met with more pain as the bastard started to headbutt me, my head aching and soon I found myself woozy.

"Agh... son of a..."

I gritted my teeth, I wasn't going to let myself die in a place like this. I wasn't going to let my comrades down. I would attempt to push the undead soldier off of me, wrestling my arm free from his grip and punching him in the face. If successful, I would grab my sakabato and slash at his neck as well, hoping to decapitate him just like his friend before him. I needed to help the others get through this as soon as possible, I was afraid of losing too much blood.

[Shinomori Katsumi]

She made the hit, but there was no time to be satisfied or to even move to fire off another shot. Suddenly, the girl's legs were grabbed and she was tackled to the ground, effectively knocking her bladed bow away from her. Gritting her teeth, Katsumi grabbed her knife and kicked at the head of the undead to pry it off of her, before scrambling over to it and stabbing the creature in the face hopefully.

Takehiro: The mercenary was able to maneuver as he wished, his feet slamming the undead jaws in, causing them to stumble back! As he recovered and dealt his blows to their necks, the gunpowder in the chamber ignited, sending out a powerful force that snapped them, causing the undead to fall to the floor, re-dead!

Yukimura: Yukimura was fortunate enough that the zombie's body was weaker than his, and his escape worked! He would retrieve the weapons, and get to safety!

Haji: After a few headbutts, dazing him, Haji was successful! His blade would cleave through the zombie's neck, effectively decapitating it!

Katsumi: Katsumi was lucky enough to kick the zombie away, but he didn't feel pain, so he was able to react quickly! Just before the woman could stab his face in, she was dealt a hard punch to her jawline, though she succeeded in ending the monster's life! AGAIN!

With just one undead left at Yukimura's feet, yet another blood curdling shriek could be heard! If they looked up, they would see five creatures crawling along the ceiling, charging at the group! Two bounded toward Takehiro, and one each targeted the others!

[Amakusa Takehiro]

Takehiro reached for his spear, just as he heard the shrieking. He looked up, just in time to see the bastards charging at him. He stepped back, swinging his spear in a wide arc overhead, looking to slam it into one of the creatures' sides, and then continue pushing, so that he get smack them both down to the ground. If successful, he'd jab his spear forward, clean through their necks.

[Sanada Yukimura]

With one undead soldier left, this one at his feet, lifting his foot up, Yukimura would try to stomp its head in. If he was successful, just as he smashed the soldier's head in like a melon, another blood curdling shriek would reach his ears, causing him to visible wince, as he would spot another group of creatures on the ceiling, charging towards them. Stepping to the side, he would then try to thrust his spear up towards the creature, to try and impale it, before letting out an almighty roar and try to swing his spear with the creature still on it, up and over and slam the creature into the floor.

[Morei Haji]

I was successful in defeating this soldier as well, making two decapitated heads. I kicked the body away from me in time to hear some inhuman shrieks. Looking up, I would see some freaky ass monsters climbing along the ceiling. Shit.

I would back up against the wall, crouching against it now. One of my hands was on my stomach, keeping pressure on my wound, trying desperately to keep the blood from flowing too much. My other hand would thrust out, sword in hand, aiming to impale the creature as it came at me. I only prayed I was successful.

[Shinomori Katsumi]

While killing the undead creature, Katsumi was hit across the face and her head whipped to the side. A hand rose up, cradling her jaw, and the girl spit up blood.

"Ugh," she groaned a little, narrowing her eyes. Katsumi was more annoyed than anything, and wasn't looking forward to the bruise she'd get later.

Scrambling to her feet, she hurriedly sheathed her knife and ran for her bow. Just as she picked it up (presumably), another screech rang within the air. Glancing up, Katsumi's eyes widened at seeing more monsters. This place was fucking insane!

Pulling out two arrows, Katsumi jumped back into her position, pulling back the string of her bow and firing at the creature that was headed towards her.

[Oda Nobunaga]

Takehiro: The mercenary knocked the two beasts out of the air! His spear impaled the first's neck, ripping it's head clean from its shoulders. He went to strike the other, but it put up a little more of a fight - which didn't mean much. Fortunately, the mercenary was fast enough to cleave this one's head off as well!

Yukimura: The samurai would crush the undead soldier's face, smashing his skull in. As he quickly reacted to the other creature, he was able to impale it through the stomach, which seemed to make barely any difference! It ignored the pain, bearing its claws and gripping tightly to Yukimura's shoulders! As the samurai flung it overhead, it would land on its skull, shattering it and eliminating it! Though, Yukimura had deep gashes along his shoulders, now!

Haji: The creature's body would meet the sword, and it would pierce through like butter. It seemed to make very little difference to its mobility, however! Just like Yukimura, Haji would find claws digging into his shoulders, and the creature roared in his face, covering it with even more deathly spit and decay!

Katsumi: Katsumi was able to get a single arrow out, which struck the beast in the shoulder! It performed a backflip in mid-air, landing on all fours, and charged at Katsumi, aiming to tackle her! If she didn't move out of the way fast, she would be tackled and the beast would claw her face, leaving deep gashes!

[Amakusa Takehiro]

Wasting absolutely no time, the mercenary flipped his spear around, holding it up like a javelin. He eyed the creature about to tackle Hiroshi and, just as soon as it jumped, he launched the spear forward, aiming to impale the bastard somewhere. Just in case his spear missed, the mercenary also charged forward as fast as he could, aiming to tackle the beast either out of the air, or off Hiroshi. If the tackle was necessary and successful, he would rain fists down on the beast's face!

[Sanada Yukimura]

Letting out a roar of pain as the creature dug its claws into his shoulders before being ripped free as Yukimura slammed the creature into the ground, though he managed to take it out, he was left with deep gashes in his shoulders. Though it hurt, seeing Haji back up against a wall and a creature bellowing in his face, he would fight through the pain and charge towards the creature, coming at it from behind.

Slamming the blunt end of his spear into the ground as soon as he was close enough, he would try to swing in an arc around to the side of the creature and kick it in the head, hopefully knocking it away from Haji.

[Morei Haji]

I screamed in pain as the monster dug its claws into my shoulder, the spit on my face seemed so trivial at the moment. I really felt like I was going to die in this place, against some weird ass monsters I didn't even know existed. This had to be a bad dream.

As I held the beast off, I could see Yukimura coming in for an attack. If he was successful in kicking the monster away from me, I would make my move, aiming my blade for the beast's neck, planning on decapitating him as well. If Yukimura failed in his endeavor, however, I would kick at the beast and attempt to knock it off of me, from there I would perform the same strike with my blade.

[Shinomori Katsumi]

She hit the creature, but it still charged at her, and Katsumi eyes widened sharply.
"Shit!"
There was no way she could attack the creature. Stepping back, Katsumi would quickly jump to the side, raising her bladed bow up defensively, and sticking it out so that one of the blades could be used as a counter-measure because fuck you, monster!

[Oda Nobunaga]

Takehiro: The blade of the spear struck the demon in the side of the head, with some killer aim! It fell limp to the ground, and Takehiro successfully saved his comrade!

Yukimura: The kick struck the back of the monster's head, but it seemed unfazed! Instead of falling back, it pushed itself off the sword, ripping its claws away from Haji and in Yukimura's direction! Yukimura would have three cuts along his cheek, and his armor on his chest would have been torn through, leaving a gash across his skin!

Haji: When the monster lashed at Yukimura, it struck Haji's face as well, leaving three gashes across his cheek, one extending over his nose! Though, it left his blade, and he was able to kick it back and cut its head off, after some damage was done to him and his pal!

Katsumi: She's safe now! Zombie died.

The doors at the far end of the hall seemed to glow for a moment, until they shattered with an explosion of light and wind. The stench of decay seemed to be cleared from the chamber! Behind the doors, on a pedestal, was a chest of the daimyo's treasure!

[Amakusa Takehiro]

Takehiro cheered as the bastard hit the floor, and he ran up to his speer, ripping it from the thing's flesh. For good measure, he stepped on its face, juuust to make sure it was dead dead. He rolled his shoulders back a little, sighing, and he checked on Hiroshi. "You all good?" He turned, extending his question to Haji and Yukimura.

If his group said they were all okay, he'd start heading over to the treasure box. The exploding door didn't surprise him after this clusterfuck.

[Sanada Yukimura]

Letting out a roar of pain, Yukimura would clutch at his chest as his chest armor was torn, leaving a gash across his skin and three gashes on his cheek. Haji wasn't fairing as well either, but at least the creature was decapitated and taken care off.

"Just... peachy Amakusa-san."

He was bleeding in multiple places, and though the door that held the daimyo's treasure behind it glowed then blew apart, he'd take the precious time they had to eat one of two rice cakes he had with him. The merchant that sold him them to him gave him some song and dance about how it could heal most minor wounds instantly, and though Yukimura was skeptical, at such a steal of a price, how could he not go for it?

With his wounds healed, he would go around to grab a second katana and sheath, placing both katanas at his waist, for easy access, while keeping an eye out on their surroundings while Takehiro went for the treasure.

[Morei Haji]

The monster was now dead, and I had managed to save both Yukimura and myself. I stumbled a bit, using my sword to stop me from falling as I leaned on it, panting heavily. My arm came up, wiping my face off, and as I pulled the sleeve away, I would see a mixture of saliva, sweat, and my own blood stain the fabric.

"I'm... I'm alright, Takehiro..."

I replied to him. Following suit with Yukimura, I would reach into my kimono and pull out the smaller rice cake that a merchant had sold to me previously. I figured it wouldn't hurt, it was supposedly magical and was able to heal most wounds. With my beat up state, I had nothing to lose, so I wolfed it down right there. My wounds healing up would just leave me with dirty, bloodied clothing. It beat having a body torn asunder.

Immediately afterwards, I would go to find the katana I threw previously, sheathing it, but keeping my sakabato drawn just in case. For now, the room seemed clear, but in this place, I felt being on our guard was the best course of action.

I would walk over to Katsumi just to check up on her. "How are you holding up?" I would ask. Once Takehiro began to move towards the daimyo's chest though, I would follow suit just in case he needed back up.

[Shinomori Katsumi]

Katsumi sighed in relief when she wasn't tackled in the floor, instead Takehiro backing her up and killing the creature. At seeing no more enemies, she lowered her bow, inhaled deeply, and turned to Takehiro, bowing her head respectively.

"Thank you, Takehiro."

The girl proceeded to gather her arrows and put them back in her quiver, and at hearing Haji she turned around, only for her eyes to widen and to gasp. She quickly rushed to him, eyes filled with concern, and a hand grasped his arm.

"H-Haji-kun! Are y-you alright?!" she asked quickly, stumbling on her words. And yet it seemed that his wounds were healing, and Katusmi bit down on her bottom lip. "I'm fine, but..."

With whatever was said, she would follow Haji, sticking close to his side. Brown hues searched carefully for any movement. While nothing seemed to be there, her wariness never faltered, distrust coming far more naturally to her. It was why she valued the people here so much, especially Haji and Yukimura. Takehiro... well, there was plenty of time for her to get to know him more in the future, right?

[Oda Nobunaga]

As Takehiro neared the chest with his group behind him, once more, they would all hear deathly shrieks filling the air. Ten more of those creatures they'd just fought were running along the walls, just as swiftly as they had been previously. They circled the group, finally jumping down to charge the lot. Four of them leaped menacingly toward Yukimura in the back, three charged Katsumi, and three charged Haji. Before Takehiro would be able to react and save his team mates, five dark circles would appear on the ground in front of him, and another breed of creatures appeared from them. All five of these crawlers charged the mercenary.

The group was effectively separated, putting Takehiro on one side and the other three on another. Each would have to fight their own battle here if they wished to help one another.

[Amakusa Takehiro]

Takehiro whirled around to run and assist his teammates as they seemed to be swarmed with those damn zombie bastards. Before he could do anything, though, it seemed he had to face an entirely new opponent, an armless one which seemed to rip through some portal of complete darkness.

Cursing, Takehiro ripped his spear in front of him in another horizontal arc as the beasts charged, looking to knock them away from him and give himself a chance to think and consider his options against these monsters. He needed to measure their speed, and if he would even be able to hit them.

"DON'T LET YOURSELVES GET SURROUNDED!"
