First Impressions Last...? (Open)

[Katsurayama Haruyuki]

It was a fine day in a marketplace in Oshu, and a very fair-complexioned person, wearing a light-blue kimono patterned with cherry blossom flowers was seen moving from one store to another, looking at the wares that were sold in each shop. Sometimes the person saw something that could be of interest, and purchased them without bargaining, as if the person always lacked time. Some of the males could not stop looking at the person, as the person had a very beautiful face and smooth hair; the type of woman that anyone would be proud of having as a lover. Some even followed the person in secret, looking to have even a glimpse.

After some time the person became tired of carrying the things that was purchased, and so went to a restaurant for some refreshments and food. But just after the person sat down on the table and waited for the order, some people who seemed to be outlaws yet very infatuated moved towards the table. One of the outlaws moved forward and said to the person, "Hey, it's nice to meet someone who is very beautiful. Well then, sweetie, want to have a ride with us atop a horse? You would really like it." The person, seeing the intent of the outlaws, shrunk into the chair. The one who seemed to be the outlaw leader, grabbed the silky arm of the person, and, seemingly more driven by sexual desire after holding that arm, said, "Ooooh, you've got such fair complexion with such beauty, eh? This would be a good day for us!" The other outlaws also decided to go near the person, with their eyes brimming with sexual desire.

[Shinomori Katsumi]

Katsumi sat by her lonesome in a restaurant, silently sipping at tea and eating a bowl of rice and meat. She had entered the village looking for a job and, upon it reaching noon and not finding anything, the woman donned as a man decided it was time to eat. Almost reaching the amount for another horse for Haji and wanting to purchase it here, Katsumi had purposefully come up with an excuse to go by herself. She wanted it to be a surprise, after all.

As Katsumi sat quietly in the corner, she overheard a conversation and the archer peered up, tilting her head to see better. The petite merc observed some large men bothering someone, and Katsumi's eyes narrowed. Glancing about, she saw that everyone else was nervous. With a sigh, she realized no one else would do a thing and stood up from her seat. She was not in full-demon gear, so as not to frighten the villagers, but she was still fast and strong without those one or two pieces that changed her appearance.

"Pretty sure she's... disinterested," remarked the archer with an entirely impassive expression. Her eyes were cold, unreadable, staring straight at the outlaws. Fingers rested on her bow, but there were no arrows in a quiver on her back. Plus, the merc only stood at four feet ten inches. She was far from intimidating appearance-wise. It must have looked odd indeed. "I highly recommend leaving..."

"What? You gonna shoot us with imaginary arrows?" taunted one of them. "Fuck off, kid!"

Another sigh. Pulling back the string of her bow, a spirit arrow appeared and, upon releasing, it passed by one of the men, cutting his cheek, before hitting the wall and disappearing. They appeared appalled and shocked, stepping back.

"Leave. Next time... I won't miss," said the archer, pulling back once more and aiming straight at them, dark hues narrowed.

[Zhuo Jina]

"Goddamnit I can't use this!" Jina's voice could be heard from across the street. She very rarely yelled, so when she did, something had to be up. She exited the store and slammed the door back into the face of the merchant, throwing the bagged item onto the ground. The man had been instructed to clean a shirt that Jina had gotten bloody, and somehow in that process, he had torn over half the stitching. The shirt was ruined and now she had to go find a new one to put under her armor. She decided this one should be black, as to not show the stains.

"How about next time, you do a job right!" Jina was furious, and some patrons of the resteraunt had turned their attention to her. She went inside, letting the door shut behind her. She sat down by herself, grunting as she landed. As she looked up though, she saw Katsumi with her bow drawn at some large men who were surrounding another woman.

"Ahhh shit you guys picked the wrong day to mess with Kat!"

Jina jumped up and drew her rapier. "And, I'm in a bad mood too. I don't think you guys will enjoy this."

Jina began walking quickly toward the men...

The situation really escalated quickly as a youth moved forward and aimed an unarmed bow at the outlaws. The person was shocked while the outlaws laughed at the display, thinking the youth was crazy not to arm the bow with anything. But when the youth released the bowstring, an arrow, which seemed an ethereal one, was released, as if it was fired from the bow. The outlaws were taken aback by the display, but it seemed that they were still unafraid of the youth.

"You may have surprised us with that trick, but we will not fall for it again!" One of the outlaws roared, and was to charge at the youth, his katana drawn, when suddenly, a woman wielding a rapier walked towards the charging outlaw, and with a quick advance and a pierce of the rapier, the outlaw was disarmed, the katana dropping to the ground, and the outlaw roared in pain while grasping the arm that was pierced, blood generously flowing from his wrist, until he dropped down dead. The leader of the outlaws, seeing one of his comrades dead, released the arm of the person and was about to charge at the two when suddenly...

"KYAAAAAAAA!" A shriek was heard by all of the people in the restaurant, and the leader dropped down on the ground, and seemed to be knocked out. The person then could be seen with the right arm raised as if the person slapped someone. Looking at the leader again, there could be seen a reddish mark that looked like the hand of the person, except that the pinky of the hand mark is missing and the person had a complete hand. The outlaws, seeing how their leader fell, talked with each other. One of them said, "I'd rather not be slapped by my prospective wife that way," as they walked away from the restaurant.

A lot of shit happened, and all Kat could really do was blink and stare. Although, when the one man tried to charge forward, Katsumi did shoot him in the foot before Jina of all people hopped in seemingly out of nowhere. There the girl the outlaws had been messing with slapped one of the guys. He must have been the leader because the others were suddenly disheartened after he fell.

"Don't cause trouble again," murmured the archer dressed as a man. Looking over at Jina, she only sighed. Fortunately, she only said Kat and her name was already gender-neutral. But still...

Walking over to the one they had been man-handling, the petite Katsumi inquired, "Are you alright?"

Katsumi wasn't entirely too concerned, especially considering this person had help put the outlaws in their place.

[Zhuo Jina]

Jina grinned, happy to see Kat again. She was fairly certain that Kat was still in disguise, her voice at an ambiguous tone. She had lost her cool a moment ago and had let slip her nickname.

"Put them in their place, huh?"

Jina sheathed her sword and faced the other two, smiling. "Didn't mean to hurt him too bad, oh well." Jina kicked the body slightly and grinned widely. Katsumi made Jina feel so comfortable.

The situation around the restaurant had died down after the outlaws left. The person who had been harassed by the thugs still seemed to be surprised while staring at the hand that felled the bandit leader. It seemed that the person was still shocked by the turn of events, since that slap had made the outlaws leave without a further fight.

But after some time, the person, seemingly recovered, moved towards the two, and said, while bowing profusely, "Thank you for saving me from those thugs!" The voice was somewhat low, yet enough for others to perceive that it was a girl's voice. "I don't know how could I repay you for saving me, all I can give you is a treat here!"

Katsumi glanced down at the body and shrugged. Who cared if he died? He caused trouble and fought them. If one of them died, it was their fault. It was a harsh world. One where people had to fight in order to survive. Some lives, many died trying. All died in the end. It was how the world worked.

As the girl thanked them, Katsumi merely bowed her head, still keeping up her male persona as well. "We did what was... necessary. They caused trouble. There is no need... to thank us, really."

She nodded at her words and as the girl offered them food, her eyes slid over to Jina. Katsumi wasn't going to say anything and remained quiet, but she was sure Jina would jump on the offer. If she did, Katsumi would partake as well.

Shin was enjoying his peaceful day in this beautiful marketplace of Oshu, but thanks to some people who he saw causing so much trouble. ' why must this all happen now of all day, i finally had a day off and now this just great ' shin thought to himself. he did see one of date's members Zhou something and Katsu----- what ever he didnt know everyone with in date's group and actually was pretty pleased he didnt know these trouble makers. " hey can you guys please stop destroying the peace of this nice place " shin yelled at them not know the full extent of the situation and he then looked and saw a dead body and shook his head, ' this is going to be a Long day. ' shin thought to himself once again placing his hand on his head wondering what in the world did he just walk into.
