The man issued a reply, "Remember that I came from a family of blacksmiths, General. When the prestige of the Murai family is restored, I would hand you a full set of battle armor that could withstand and effectively transmit what you have received from the gods themselves." He then paused and said, "Pardon me for being direct, but the person who was responsible for my arrest was one of the Danjochu of the Takeda and the person who ruled Takato Castle in Shinano where the Murai family worked: Hoshina Masatoshi. If you were shocked at this revelation, I understand. If you think he couldn't do such a thing, you could treat me as a criminal when we meet again, for I came here at your presence either to clear my name, or confirm that I am the enemy of the Takeda for what I have caused." After he said those words, he saw another man coming towards them. As the man came within 50 paces from him, the cloak shuddered, and then an explosion was generated at the location of the cloaked man, the dust on the ground generating sufficient smoke that the man could not be seen within it. When the dust dispelled, the leaves of the trees within the site rustled, and no man was found on the ground on where the man formerly stood, leaving a scroll on the blasted ground. The scroll, when unrolled, reveals the map that led to the former smithy of the Murai family in Shinano that was destroyed by the explosion.

While a man was sorting out his weapons, he heard a faint sound of a man walking. When he came out of his house, he saw no man, but only a small scroll at the steps of the house. He opened it, and when he saw the matter with why the scroll was there, he went out of the house, cloaked in black and with a simple straw hat on his head. Seemingly, he carried no weapons, but a paper flying by at his side knew the ferocity on his bearing: upon nearing the man, it was sliced in twain.
After firing an arrow towards the camp of the Daimyo Iwasaki Takeshi with a note informing his presence and resolve to fight the usurper, the man proceeded stealthily towards the walls of the castle, and fired an arrow tied to a rope on the wall of the castle. If the arrow would hit, he then would scale the wall of the castle via the rope.

Ryunosuke replied to the boy, "Yes, Young Master, she is here to meet with the Daimyo. It would be about our situation with the Chosokabe, I think, for she came here on the behalf of her father Chosokabe Motochika." He then turned towards the woman, and said, "Now, may we entertain you for some time until the Daimyo is disposed to meet with you and talk about your sentiments, Lady Chosokabe?"
He then pondered on how short he really was. The son of the Daimyo beside him was only nine years old, and yet he was as tall as Ryunosuke was, who was already turning 19 this year. To just think that he was only as tall as a nine-year-old somewhat irritated him. He wondered when would he become taller.

Ryunosuke was surprised when the giant held him by the scruff of his kimono. But he let the giant do his thing, and he was hurled towards the advisor. He then would try to attack the advisor on his unprotected area of his body, though he would take note of the advisor's every action for he knew that his attack could be dodged or blocked easily. In the event that the advisor would dodge his attack, he would utilize a second jump towards the advisor when he was three paces past the advisor's location, and then attack towards a new blind spot of the advisor, while keeping out of the attack of the giant. On the event of a block, he would use one of his sickles to keep in touch with the advisor's spear, and then attack on the unguarded part of his body, whatever the direction the spear would turn to defend himself again, or even when the advisor would move to dodge again, as he would pull himself towards the advisor with his sickle connected on the advisor's spear, and attack. He then would utilize a second jump in the air to dodge the giant's attack.

Buying:
Steel Chain Sickles: Two-hand. These are very well-made sickles, connected with a chain for deadly use. +5 Str +3 Dex 600 Yen
Upgrading the following to:
Steel Chain Sickles (Iron): *UPGRADED ONCE* Two-hand. These are very well-made sickles, connected with a chain for deadly use. +5 Str +7 Dex Power: A sickle or two can be hurled towards an enemy in mid-range, dealing extra damage equal to 1/3 of the user's Dex. When that effect is used, the weapon bonus with that weapon towards an enemy while the sickles are used in melee would decrease by 1/2 of its value for every sickle hurled. The post succeeding the post when the sickles are hurled could be used to retrieve the sickles, to return the weapon bonus to normal. After this, the power can't be used for 200/(Current Dex + Weapon) turns, rounded up. The power could also be used to make the weapon act as a grappling hook, with the same consequences.
Upgrading:
Hitoshirenu-Mi: Two-hand. This large two-handed Nodachi is of amazing quality, and bears the mark of the Kitbatake. Having been taken from one of the Kitabatake Brothers defeated in the battle of Ise. +5 Str when striking, +5 Con. Power: This weapon when held in hand becomes completely invisible. While carried in other way, such as sheathed, or on on a strap it is visible.

A quick reply was issued by the cloaked man. "Because you're the only person that I can approach. All of the others higher than you in status cannot be approached by everyone, not less than a person who was treated as a criminal like me. I am sought to be killed by a person that I thought having that bearing, because of the evil things that he had done in the name of the Takeda, that directly brought the name of the Takeda into criticism in Shinano. Although you might have proven that the five soldiers were actually spies, the warrant against me, Murai Ryunosuke, to arrest me dead or alive, was still in force, and was marked with the mon of the Takeda. And that warrant was made, as far as I can think, by the same man who ordered the five spies to apprehend me. As long as that man holds an important role in the Takeda, to issue edicts in the name of the Takeda in Shinano, would mean that your problem with the spies of the Miki faction would never end. I have spent these two years to gain enough strength to withstand any foe, and now I am here to have your aid to reclaim the honor of the blacksmith family of Murai and, as you have said it, to purge all Miki spies in Shinano."

Ryunosuke watched as Shou meditated. After some time, he felt a strong glare at the corner of his left eye. He turned towards that direction, and he saw a figure of a man glowing beside Shou. It was an awesome sight, but it was also familiar. He had seen the same thing days ago when he defeated the bandits in the marketplace of Totomi. He then realized something about the person in front of him.
"You have also been blessed by Izanagi, right?" Ryunosuke said, a faint smile evident on his lips. "Anyways, you're right in your assumption, a moving target is even better for training with a ranged weapon than a stationary target, as it also boosts awareness of approaching enemies. The doppelganger that you have created is a perfect idea. I thank you for expending your energy to help me do a good training." He then bowed deep, but he was also ready for anything that might start the training.

Although Ryunosuke and the militia were doing a good job in eliminating the real enemy soldiers and were eager enough to continue on, it seemed that the main force didn't share their eagerness. A sizable amount of their soldiers fell as the real enemies struck them. And so Ryunosuke decided to put a stop on those illusions as fast as possible.
As they continued to fire towards the real enemies, he scanned the battlefield before him to search for something odd. Then he saw three whirlwinds clashing towards each other. At the middle whirlwind, which were clashed on by the whirlwinds of his allies Takehiro and Toshi, was another person. The sword in that person's hand glowed, the sign that he was producing the illusions. Once he could get a clean shot on that person, he would fire his howitzer towards that person, to end the illusions once and for all.

Understanding that with such a large weapon comes great weight, the red-haired boy gave a quick breath before lifting the weapon out of the counter with his right hand. But it would seem that he just lifted the weapon without any difficulty as he looked at the sword with keen eyes. It was not apparent with his stature that he could do so, but beneath his small frame was a very great core strength. He then continued to stare at the weapon as he said, "As expected from the blacksmith Kanbe-san that was revered by the Daimyo himself. What could be originally done by the ordinary blacksmiths with the katana, Kanbe did with a very large sword like this. And he made great additions on this sword. If I'm not wrong, what's inside these capsules at the back of this sword was..." He then touched one of the capsules with a finger of his left hand and then licked the finger. "Gunpowder, as expected. But I would dare think Ichimura-sensei could produce weapons similar to this, so..." The boy then stared at the giant, "What refinement do you desire with the edge of this weapon? It's still very sharp, so ordinary sharpening would never make any sense other than chipping its edge. The sword is a tough one, but it could get tougher so that ordinary sharpening could give it a keener edge. We have the necessary materials to do that, and it comes for a minimal price. What could you say about that?"

Ryunosuke was shocked at what he saw. The number of enemy soldiers suddenly increased with more than a hundred soldiers appearing out of nowhere. It might have something to do with the faint glow that he earlier saw from far away. If a person managed to generate that much number of soldiers, surely he could overrule any army that would march against Ise. He wondered what should he do in that situation.
Fortunately, Ryunosuke again heard a voice in his head urging him to move towards the flanks to shoot at the enemy while the enemy was disposed on charging towards the main force. Cannons and arbalests were seen firing towards the enemy, and that gave Ryunosuke an estimate of what's going on. Some of the soldiers were unaffected by the gunfire, and some were panicking when there was an explosion near them. And the soldiers who seemed unaffected by the explosions were the ones he saw that appeared out of nowhere By that event alone, he knew that they were just illusions and unable to hurt anyone. Now, the only thing that left was to shake the real soldiers into disarray to make the illusions useless.
He then commanded his soldiers to shoot at the distracted soldiers, while he fired his howitzer towards those which had a large concentration of attacking enemy soldiers, to distract any real soldier among them. That way, they could successfully pick off all the real soldiers within the army without being distracted much by the illusions. If anyone would counter fire at them, the would also fire at them before continuing on with the soldiers. Ryunosuke would stand at the front line, ready to tear apart anything that would attempt to engage his soldiers in melee.

In spite of the show of force that Yukimura had shown, the cloaked figure still sat on his position, and from his back could be seen a bladed iron bow and a quiver of arrows slung behind him. But he drew neither of them as he continued speaking.
"Although I appreciate that that might be a ruse to smear your lord's reputation, but still you might have not known of the true cause why a then 16-year-old blacksmith like me decided to leave your service."
He then stood up, although still not drawing his bow.
"I am not here to fight against you, in fact, I have been searching for you to clear my name. If the act of the five soldiers were done by an enemy of your lord, indeed the problem about hidden enemies within your lord's bureaucracy does not stop there."

Ryunosuke just laughed and said, "Yeah, it seems that no target could be able to withstand the arrows from this weapon." He then aimed the scorpion at a tree. "Why, you want to suggest yourself to be a target for this one?" He then lowered the scorpion, thinking that there's no spot in the tree that could be used as a target, and it was doubtful that the tree could hold back the arrow from the scorpion.
He then turned again towards Shou, and said, "Then again it is doubtful that a target of steel could withstand this weapon without breaking." He then pointed at the broken iron target. "By practice, steel is often harder than pure iron, but it is more fragile. And so, if an iron target could not withstand the arrow without breaking it is doubtful if a steel target could do it."

The cloaked figure just stood on the ground, not making any movement. A voice again emanated from the figure, "I have known you for some time I have served the Takeda, a man whose sense of justice was unsurpassed by any other general in the land, though you might have not known me, though we had brushed shoulders with each other for three, no, four years."
The cloaked figure then sat down, and his shortness was apparent that his sitting height was of little different with his standing height. "You might have known about the news, about a blacksmith who wanted to leave the service of the Takeda two years ago killed five soldiers who tried to stop him by force."

Not far from Yukimura, a man of short stature was looking at the shiisa statues. But it does not seem like he was looking, for his eyes were covered by a black cloth. The man himself was clad with a black cloak and a straw hat was set on his head. The man's hair was brown, and the way he tied his hair was shabby. He seemed to be spaced out on something, but not long after, he noticed the glow emanating from Yukimura's body. He just smiled confidently, and moved away until he was out of reach.
Not long after, the cloaked man appeared behind Yukimura, still keeping his grin. Not long after, a voice emanated from the figure, saying, "General Sanada Yukimura, am I right? Are you here to take a criminal in?"

Ryunosuke wiped away his sweat with his left hand as he carried the large weapon with his right hand. The weapon's capabilities were outstanding as he researched it, but he did not expect the strength of the weapon to be like this. Truly, the rumors about that ancient weapon that could behead a soldier from a small distance was indeed true.
When he heard someone addressing him, he turned around to see who that was, and was surprised that it was the person who he had helped to retrieve his liege's treasure: as much as he could remember his name was Yamabara Shou, an officer of the Takeda. Fortunately he had not caught wind yet of what happened 2 years go in Shinano, and so he could still converse with him.
"Yes, Yamabara-san, it's me, Ichimura Ryunosuke," he said, turning towards Shou. When asked about the weapon, he just replied, "Uh, this?" while holding the weapon with his two hands. "This was one of those I came to know while researching about every weapon within the world we live on. People in the far reaches of the world call this weapon a scorpion, due to what it looks like before. I just made it to something that more resembles the animal." He then loaded a steel arrow into the mouth of the scorpion. "The reason why I trained to use this weapon while outside the towns is that it is meant to be used as a heavy war weapon, and could easily undermine any defense. It is known for its very ferocious firing and accuracy capabilities that it could behead a person from a near distance."

The steel arrow already fed at the mouth of the scorpion, a diminutive man aimed it towards an iron target far away from where he stood. Judging from the numerous broken targets made of different kinds of material, it should be taken note that he had used these targets, but without knowing the true strength of the weapon, all of them broke into pieces when the arrow from the weapon came in contact with them. This was the final target within his reach, and if this one also broke due to the arrow that he would fire, he could not practice again unless he would squander his fortune to buy a large amount of tamahagane to forge a steel target with those. He would hope that he would not resort to that.
He then aimed the scorpion towards the target 150 yards away from him, and then, with a push of a lever, a muffled explosion sounded from within the scorpion, and the arrow swiftly moved its way towards the target, until it lodged on the bulls-eye of the target. Seeing what happened, Ryunosuke jubilantly rejoiced on both his bulls-eye and the fact that the iron target withstood the arrow... or not. Cracks formed on the iron target from where the arrow lodged, until it crumbles with a loud metallic sound.
"Now damn it, how should I continue my target practice," he muttered.

Buying:
Bladed Iron Longbow: It's like the Iron Longbow, but it's got blades on the tips! Great for ranged fighting, AND close-quarters! +4 Str when firing, +4 Str when striking with bow. 360 Yen (3x)
360 x 3 = 1080 yen
Upgrading all of the Bladed Iron Longbows (+6 Str ranged, +6 Str melee), two with powers as follows:
Bladed Iron Longbow (Steel):*UPGRADED ONCE* It's like the Iron Longbow, but it's got blades on the tips! Great for ranged fighting, AND close-quarters! +6 Str when firing, +6 Str when striking with bow. Power: Can pierce through any material with ease.
Bladed Iron Longbow (Gunpowder):*UPGRADED ONCE* It's like the Iron Longbow, but it's got blades on the tips! Great for ranged fighting, AND close-quarters! +6 Str when firing, +6 Str when striking with bow. Power: This power can be activated: when the user uses this weapon for attacks, it creates explosions upon impact, but the user takes 1/3 damage against his current Con. Can be deactivated, but it can't be reactivated for the rest of the thread.
800 x 3 + 1000 x 2 + 60 + 80 = 4540 + 1080 = 5620 yen

Demon's Howitzer: *UPGRADED ONCE* Two-hand. A small cannon that could be held using a rifle-like handle, and could be fired by pulling a trigger. The barrel of the cannon is decorated with figures of demons, and had a figurine of a demon near its mouth. The barrel also had sharp katana-like ridges that can cut through anything that was rammed upon by the cannon. It seems to not require the long period of reloading that typical cannons would. +12 Str, +3 Dex when firing, +11 Str when striking with the cannon.
to form:
Teppo Ishiyumi: *UPGRADED TWICE* Two-hand. On the surface this weapon was a very large straight-edged sword, with a long handle to leverage its length and weight. But the hollow spine of this sword could say otherwise: it could also be used as an artillery weapon, able to be loaded with ordinary arrows and had the same power as a cannon powered with gunpowder. It seems to not require the long period of reloading that typical gunpowder-based weapons would. Requires 15 Str, 20 Dex, and Marksmanship C to wield. +18 Str, +3 Dex when firing arrows, +17 Str when slashing with the weapon.

This peculiar weapon looks like a scorpion baring its claws towards its enemy, and had its tail pointing away from the claws, ready to strike anytime. The weapon could be wielded as a large bidentate spear with another spear head at its rear. But the true beauty of this weapon is that it could be used as a very powerful crossbow in which its arrows could behead a soldier from short distances, and powerful enough to travel hundreds of yards and still hit the mark. +12 Str when firing bolts, +12 Str when striking with the scorpion. Power: Can pierce through any material with ease. Power: This power can be activated: when the user uses this weapon for attacks, it creates explosions upon impact, but the user takes 1/3 damage against his current Con. Can be deactivated, but it can't be reactivated for the rest of the thread.

With:

The trouble with the bandits had not been finished yet at the Takeda border of the Totomi when Ryunosuke was informed about an Imagawa army marching towards one of their border villages. Shocked by the turn of events, Ryunosuke moved towards the village with a stash of rifles newly produced by his smithy to assist the villagers there in fighting them off.
Fortunately, by the time Ryunosuke was in the village, the enemy was still not yet in sight. He assembled every man able to fight within the village, 30 in all, armed them with the rifles, and taught them how to use the rifles. After three days, the Imagawa was detected to be 5 miles away from the village. Fortunately the villagers soon learned on how to use the rifles, and so he broke down the 30 villagers into 3 rows, and marched with them towards the entrance of the village. They then calmly waited for the enemy to come within their sight.
It would only take 2 hours before they could see the enemy, marching on as if they were not spied on, of if they did, they were too confident that they would attain their goal. Not wasting time in being detected, Ryunosuke immediately fired his howitzer towards the ground they stood on. The ground impact surprised the soldiers, and seeing the confusion written all over their faces, Ryunosuke signaled the villagers to fire.
The first row fired their rifles at the enemy, but even though some missed and most only hit the enemy's armor, it was enough for many of the soldiers to panic. The first row withdrew to give way to the second row, and before the second row fired their weapons, Ryunosuke fired his howitzer again, now towards the soldiers who seemed to catch wind of what's going on and tried to charge at the villagers. The second row fired their weapons, and a lot of the shots fired damaged the enemies' armor. The second row withdrew, and the third row had their rifles already aimed at the enemy, waiting for the signal to fire. Ryunosuke's howitzer again roared, and the shot fired hit again the ground on which the enemies stand, throwing them into greater disorder. The third row fired their weapons, and most of the shots fired injured the enemies. The third row then withdrew, revealing the first row with their rifles ready to take aim. Knowing that they would be wiped out before they reach the village, the enemies withdrew, and finally ran away, leaving their injured and dead.
When the attack was finally over, the villagers moved towards the injured enemy soldiers and nursed them before they were sent back off to their homes. The battle left three combatants dead, all at the side of the invaders. Eight soldiers who were left by the invaders were brutally injured, which were treated by the villagers before they were sent away. The battle went to their advantage, but there was no knowing whether the enemies would come back to attack the village again. And so Ryunosuke stayed within the village, training the villagers on how to use the rifles, until the fortnight had passed and he had to go back to the militia headquarters. At lest he was confident that the villagers had learned on how to defend themselves.

While he was busy arranging the reports that the militia passed on to him, he came across a particularly disturbing report. Word was that a man came through some important documents from the Amakusa headquarters, and somehow slipped through the heavily-guarded area back to a camp within Totomi allied with the Tokugawa. In extreme urgency, he himself darted towards the camp, assigning work for the other militia.
He reached the camp in the dead of night, and there were soldiers guarding the entrance of the camp. Surveying among the trees for the best spot to infiltrate the camp, he found a narrow alleyway that was only occasionally passed through by the patrols. He then threw a grappling hook towards the wooden walls of the camp, and then scaled the wall. With a quick drop, he found himself within the well-lit camp. Patrols were frequently scouring the area in twos, and so Ryunosuke thought that he would be discovered if he would not hide well. Starting at the tent near him, he drew a knife and made a slit on the tent to take a peek. He only saw sleeping soldiers within that tent. He then moved to the next tent, quickly stepping towards it so as to avoid the eyes of the patrols. Nothing there either but soldiers. He then moved on to the next tent, with the same results. After searching intently, there were no signs of the courier within the outer tents, only soldiers sleeping. He then quickly but stealthily moved on to the inner tents, quickly taking advantage of a patrol who just passed by there.
Reaching a tent, he quickly made a slit on it and took a peek. A lone man just slept there, but it doesn't seem to be the messenger. By the fabric on which he lay, Ryunosuke could surmise that he was the leader. He quickly moved away from that tent, knowing that the patrols were tightly guarding it. He moved towards another tent, hiding within its folds as a patrol came by, and when the patrol was gone, he quickly moved by the way which the patrol traversed, until he was without the sight of the leader's tent behind another tent. Not wasting time, he slitted the tent and peeked. There was a lone man within the tent, sleeping, but now it was evident, from the bamboo tube that was slung near his bed, that he was the courier. He then moved towards the entrance of the tent without being detected by the patrols, and went in. He then moved towrds the tube and opened it quietly without awaking the courier. He then took all of the contents of the tube, and replaced them with the failed calligraphy that he made some days ago. He then peeked through the entrance to make sure that no patrols would be seen from the tent, and then went out. He then moved swiftly towards the side of the tent, and then, after a patrol moved by and then out of sight, he moved towards the outer tents, and then, while there are no patrols in sight, he tossed his grappling hook towards the walls of the camp, and quickly climbed up and jumped away out of sight of the patrols.
