I have been roleplaying for 4 or 5 years now and I have spent the majority of that time doing T1 and a few other forms of rp fighting. I found this site through some searches on Google and thought it looked interesting. How active is this site and are there chances to fight some of the other characters here?

This site is still somewhat very active even though some of the admins were not visiting very much, and I think that some would be willing to RP fights with you.

What Ryu said, though it's mostly because our two Admins are currently away, so I'm pretty much the only staff member that comes on pretty regularly. There are many chances to fight some of the characters, if you want a pretty evenly matched fight, I have another character you can fight.

I might whip up a character here in the next couple of days.
So, in regards to fighting, what style is used by people here? T1, Old World, Multi-Para, Novella?

Not gonna lie, I had to actually look up what T1 was, because I had absolutely no idea what it was. But generally, most of the members unofficially use T1 style, since most of us used to be on what is called "XIN boards" which involved a lot of fighting threads, and we liked to be as detailed and clear as possible with our character's moves.

I looked through some of the information here and saw that you guys use a point based system here. That's new for me and while I'm not opposed to it, I don't have the patience for a long, drawn out, experience of "levelling up," so to speak. I have no problem with posting a lot, but I'm a reward-oriented person and I need to feel as though I'm doing everything for a purpose. So I'd like to maybe take on a quest of some kind and have my rewards be based upon my writing and how well my character acts.

You'll be rewarded for what you do, and that's the purpose of the stat-based system. You post a lot, you get the rewards for it. I posted the most of the PCs in the last activity spike and because of it, I ended up having the strongest character (relative to 1v1 standards, really. Not saying he could wipe out everyone.). You're welcome to do as many fights/spqs as you'd like, but take into account the staff lull at the moment, so Create-a-Quests won't move on too fast.
Posting a ton is encouraged, and that's the only real way you'll get any sort of exp boost quickly.
