"I'll fear a giant when I can meet one who can best me," Takehiro returned with a chuckle. He wasn't boasting intentionally, but he believed himself to be one of the strongest men in the country. A little bit of height wasn't something he'd fear, unless the person was stronger than him in a ratio proportionate to the height difference. A man like that could... move mountains!

Taking a bite of his fish, Takehiro would shrug. He couldn't properly assess the man, but from what he knew, he had a good sense of morals. "No one really gets a test run for something like leading a fief. I don't even know if I'm making the right choices. But, if people look at you with hope and gratitude rather than fear and hatred, you'll know you've done something right. If you ever get about trying the Daimyo game for yourself, that is," he would smile. Becoming a Daimyo was like a fad these days.

Description:
Said to be made by the Gods themselves, this mask grants the wearer powerful perception on the field of battle. It is very ornately embellished, though bears no similarities to any other Japanese masks, being flat and only having slits for the eyes.
Power: When the user closes their eyes, they lose all sense of what is happening directly around them. However, they gain the ability to perceive events happening all around the battlefield, and even telepathically issue commands to his soldiers. The more secure the user is, the less they see around them, but the more they see of the battlefield. When this power is in place, the user can not engage in any direct combat. They cannot hear or see anything happening around them, no matter how loud or close it is.

Upon entering the arena and spotting Yukimura, a grin formed on Takehiro's face. He was fighting so many people he knew, here. And if Yukimura thought he'd go easy because the two were friends of sorts, he could go ahead and speak to Shou about his shattered kneecap.

"Ah, Yukimura. Well, show me what you got, buddy."

The mercenary would pop his neck before sliding his left foot forward and turning his right foot outward, bending his knees only slightly. He would bob on his heels, keeping his shoulders steady and his arms way from himself, elbows bent and palms facing Yukimura. He was not going to strike first.

As soon as the first men started striking, it seemed a crowd began to form in one spot, much as he was hoping. With a grin, the man rose his crossbow and fired at the feet of the crowd, rather than any one person in particular. The capsules on his bolts would explode, releasing a powerful hallucinogenic gas that would affect everyone within forty yards from the point of impact. At the very least, he was certain this hallucinogen would affect Ryunosuke, Shou, Haji, Constantine, Haruyuki, Nanami Hideyasu, and Hidenori.

The Daimyo was certain no one in the group could move forty-one yards in half a second. And, regardless of how well they worked, he loaded two more of the hallucinogenic bolts.

Takehiro's small army of men would begin to rip the bandits behind him apart just as they slew the family, much before they could even reach the daimyo himself. Glaive in hand, he would charge into the fray of bandits and swing his blade around himself in a complete circle, looking to tear as many apart as he could. His fist would then fall to the ground, striking it and sending out a pull of darkness, bringing all bandits around him that he hadn't slew toward him. Dark spikes would then erupt to stab all of those bandits through their hearts.

Takehiro had been doing rounds in his villages, trying to make sure they were all being well-kept when the bandits struck. He was surprised, but he would not let the surprise overtake him, because that would cost the lives of the people.

"Men! To arms!" he shouted to the small army he always had with him, and the Totomi Militia. He would charge toward the largest group of bandits, firing two hallucinogenic bolts at them. Once they exploded, everyone within forty yards would be afflicted with horrid illusions. If he was successful, he would launch a dark bomb behind them, that would explode into blades of dark energy to rip them apart from the center!

I'll get on when I can, but expect minimal movement on Okehazama for now. I'll try to go to the library every so often to continue it, but if I can't move it along, it's halted.

Takehiro nodded as the man spoke, understanding completely. He would not ask for immediate allegiance because the Amakusa were a name not yet well-known throughout these lands, and pledging your service to a force you did not know the strength of was something Takehiro himself would not do. He expected a similar sense of reason from this man.

"Of course. Name your price."

Takehiro had enough saved from his years of mercenary work that he could keep the eastern half of Japan fed for a good year or two. Paying one man for work was not something that would be out of his budget. If he felt it was too much, after a month he would end the man's contract. If he wasn't up to par with his cost, of course.

I, too, am here for diplomatic reasons. I seek an alliance with the Oda." He figured that it was not random to bring up, considering Kenji's own reason for being here. The people of Totomi were currently caught in a battle that wasn't theirs, and it would certainly do to gain favor with one of the forces on either side.

Takehiro took a sip from his cup just as the food was brought over. Steamed... fish. Some kind of fish. "I was training with the Oda but a week ago as a mercenary for the battle to come. Though, now I offer them an army." A smiled crossed his lips as he took a bite from his food. "That sounds weird. "I offer them an army.""
