[Amakusa Takehiro]

The Hojo has launched a full-scale assault on the Yoritomo clan, looking to exterminate them before they can rise to power. He has sent his best to go and put an end to them, and make sure that none of them live to see the next day.
Location:
The Yoritomo village outside Hojo territory.

PCs: Takehiro, Hideyasu. NPCs: Takehiro's assault unit, Hideyasu's ninja squadron, the Yoritomo warriors.
Plot-Important: This is a big chunk of Takehiro's and Hideyasu's past, and helps shape who they are now.

[OoC: As this takes place in the past, both Takehiro and Hideyasu will be using their old armor from when they were in the same unit in the Hojo. Lock your BASE stats in your next post. These will be the items you use:

Takehiro:
Hojo Spear: Two-hand. This spear is crafted with the finest steel, and has a cloth with the Mon of the Hojo next to the blade. +14 Str
Power: Unbreakable.

Helmet of the Hojo General: This helmet provides full protection for the wearer's head without limiting their vision. It bears the Mon of the Hojo on its forehead. +3 Str +3 Con

Breastplate of the Hojo General: This tough breastplate bears the Mon of the Hojo on the front, and underneath it bears the kanji for "virtue." +3 Dex +3 Con

Hojo Wakizashi: Made of the toughest steel available, this wakizashi can cut clean through most anything, and is incredibly durable. +7 Str

Hojo Hidden Dagger: This wrist-mounted dagger is incredibly sharp and durable, and is meant for assassinations. +7 Str when stabbing.

Hideyasu and Takehiro would find themselves approaching the Yoritomo village, each leading a unit of thirty men. These were the best the Hojo had to offer, and their mission was to extinguish what life there was from the Yoritomo family.

The village was not even a mile across the valley, and the road would lead straight to it. So far, they suspected nothing.

"Alright, Hideyasu. The village is just ahead. You lead your ninjas around the back, I'll get their attention from here. Once they're focused on me, attack from the rear. We do this quick, we do this clean, and we don't let them get to their ships."

Without anymore words to his comrade, he would lead his troops into the Yoritomo village on their horses. Seven men on either side had bottles of sake with cloth in them, and torches in either hand. Once they were close enough to the village, they would light the cloths on fire and launch the sake-bombs into the huts, looking to catch them on fire and kill whoever was inside in a large explosion. Takehiro, himself, would hold his spear out in front of him and launch in through whoever he ended up riding by.

- Hideyasu merely nodded at Takehiro's words, and the ninja ran off, his men following behind him. He took no pleasure in exterminating an entire village like this, wiping a clan off of the face of the earth, but orders were orders. Circling around the back of the village, Hideyasu and his unit would lay in waiting for a distraction. As soon as the explosions set off, he and his unit came charging into the village, his blade drawn. He would slice through whoever he met without reserve, sticking to the shadows and blending where possible.

The sounds of the horses did draw a good amount of attention, and whoever wasn't paying attention would be once the fourteen sake-bombs exploded, the entire side of the village where Takehiro's unit struck being overcome with flames. From every hut, anywhere from three to five Yoritomo men would appear, each of them charging toward Takehiro, who managed to slay three before he and his men were tackled off their horses!

Hideyasu and his unit, due to Takehiro's distraction, would manage to take out several Yoritomo men without fail, though they now found twenty soldiers rushing at them!

As he hit the ground, Takehiro would thrust his spear through the neck of the man who tackled him! If successful, he would push the body off, before leaping to his feet and throwing his spear through another Yoritomo man's skull! He would go to retrieve it and help his men out, hoping Hideyasu's group was faring well.

- Hideyasu looked upon the enemies who were now aware of their presence, having dwindled a good number of enemies before they even caught wind of the ambush. There were many, but the enemy was still outnumbered.

- Hideyasu would swing his wakizashi at the first enemy to get close to him, horizontally through the waist. If this was successful, he would instantly move to the next target, slicing him clean in two. If any enemies took advantage of his swings to try and attack him with an opening, he would stab them with the hidden blade ejected from his wrist.

Takehiro quickly dispatched two men in no time, and his quick actions in aiding his men prevented them all from suffering any fatal injuries, as the Yoritomo men were overwhelmed. Takehiro's enemies would have all been slain, however, more reinforcements approached from all around the village!

Hideyasu cut one of the men in half, and his men's abilities to blend in with the shadows made them harder to track, and the Yoritomo men bewildered! One by one, they would all fall to the ninjas. An explosion from behind would knock the men toward the center of the village, where ten large men would rush the group, wielding large sickles!

"Form up, men! Do not let them separate us!"

Takehiro and his group would form a circle back-to-back, and when the Yoritomo men approached, they would all parry the blades and strike at their opponents' throats, looking to take them out quickly. The seven men in the center armed more sake bombs, and they would launch them overhead at the other huts closer to the coast.

- Hideyasu and his men would end up being pushed closer to the center of the village, and the ninja turned around to see what had caused this turn of events. Larger Yoritomo fighters had appeared, and it seemed the ambushers were ambushed.

"No matter. They die too."

- Ten of Hideyasu's men shadow meld where possible, closing in for the kill. They would aim at the legs and arms, planning on disabling the fighters. Another ten would move in for killing blows, Hideyasu himself among them, planning on slicing through the throats and chests of those he could cleave. All were invisible. Their enemies would be unaware of their own deaths coming straight for them.

Takehiro's men would parry and slay their foes successfully, but it would seem as though the waves of Yoritomo soldiers was without end! For every one who fell, two would spring up in his place, continuing to charge the Hojo soldiers relentlessly!

The bruisers would be slain effortlessly by Hideyasu and his band of ninja, though he would find his arms being restrained by chains! Thirty men approached from the rooftops, each armed with sickles!

Takehiro frowned as more men appeared from all around them, but at least the men weren't too strong. Keeping the same formation, the men would parry any incoming blows before striking for killing blows. The men in the center would throw sake-bombs behind the groups of enemies, looking to take them out without hurting their own people.

[Morei Hideyasu]

- Hideyasu's arms were halted by chains, but it wouldn't last for long, as his ninjas would waste no time in cutting through the chains binding their leader. If this went as planned, Hideyasu and his men quickly strike at the support for the buildings on which the enemies stood, bringing them tumbling down to ground level where they would be finished off by Hideyasu and his men.

Takehiro's group would prove successful, given their extensive training, and combat the massive Yoritomo numbers with very little resistance! The sake-bombs took out the majority of the men in the back, and they served for excellent distractions while the soldiers at the front slit the Yoritomo mens' necks and slew them!

The chain was cut in a mere moment, and the buildings would be brought to the ground and broken, the men at the top of them falling to the ground! Those who did not die would be slain by Hideyasu and his unit with no resistance!

A group of men broke out from a stables on horseback, retreating up the valley and away from the village! Blocking off Hideyasu and Takehiro's units from giving chase, a hundred men revealed themselves from the surrounding huts and charged the Hojo invaders!

If Takehiro took after the couriers, his men would be outnumbered. However, if he let the couriers reach their destination, the entirety of the Hojo men would be overrun by the Yoritomo reinforcements, and that was not a chance Takehiro was willing to take.

"Form up, men! Firm defense! I will return soon!"

The general would charge through the Yoritomo ranks, cleaving through as many of the soldiers as he could, taking as many spare weapons as possible, before hopping back onto his horse and charging after the couriers. Once they were within range, Takehiro would launch the spare weapons at the couriers' backs to knock them off their horses, if not kill them.

[Morei Hideyasu]

- Hideyasu spotted the couriers in an instant, and his ninja knew what to do. Hideyasu himself would remain visible, attempting to slice through the group the best he could, while his ninjas surrounded him invisibly, slaughtering any Yoritomo who neared him. They would be distracted by the visible ninja, while an unseen death would strike at them from elsewhere.

- Jumping onto a horse whenever possible, Hideyasu quickly took some shuriken from one of his ninja, giving chase as quick as he could, while his men would clean up. Once within throwing range, Hideyasu would throw those razor sharp weapons at the couriers on his side, planning on slaying them in an instant. If successful, he would return to help his men with the Yoritomo soldiers, who were still fighting an invisible threat.

The two would take out four of the couriers in no time, but the last one seemed to be riding a steed that was way too fast for either of theirs to catch! He rode out down the valley, quickly losing the two!

Out on the coast, a Hojo ship could be seen providing reinforcements. Before it could dock, however, holes would be shot in the sides and it would begin to sink, as three Yoritomo ships appeared from the horizon! It seemed the majority of the men were returning from work across the country!

"Fuck!" Takehiro cursed, turning his horse around and beckoning Hideyasu to do the same. "No point now. Help our guys!"

He, himself, would head over toward the docks and try to get to the ships, leaving the men in the village to Hideyasu. If the ships were too far for him to reach, Takehiro would steal a boat and ride out to one of the Yoritomo ships. That, or wait for them to get to the dock, considering they wouldn't fire on their own turf.

[Morei Hideyasu]

- Damn, one of the couriers got away. That could only prove to be a hindrance to the entire operation. Listening to Takehiro, Hideyasu would turn around, racing back to the village in order to support his men.

"Nekoya, you're with me."

- Hideyasu ordered one of his men, and the man obliged, pulling out his chain and sickle and running to aid Hideyasu as they charged the enemies in the village. They would slay any who came into range of their weapons, the rest of his unit cleaning up and attacking from the shadows.

Hideyasu's unit was able to slay a good deal of Yoritomo men, and Takehiro made it onto a Yoritomo ship! Before he could do much, however, the Hojo support ship was sunk! Hideyasu had another seventy men to deal with on land, while Takehiro had one-hundred-fifty to deal with on his ship!

Yoritomo Reinforcements In: 2 Rounds

"Come, men of Yoritomo! Feel the might of the Hojo!"

Takehiro, spear in hand, rushed toward the men on the ship, swinging it in a wide arc in front of himself. He aimed to take out as many as he could in the first swing, and would continue to strike as many as possible. He was confident he would not let their numbers overwhelm him.

[Morei Hideyasu]

"Tch... Kill them all! Leave none standing!"

- Hideyasu would order, and all of his men would go invisible once more. They would surround and strike out at the Yoritomo from the shadows, planning on slaying as many as they possibly could.

[Oda Nobunaga]

Takehiro would be able to take out about 15 of the soldiers, before they had him surrounded on all sides! They did not attack yet, however!

Hideyasu and the land forces would take out all the Yoritomo forces around them, before the second ship docked and the forces poured out, overwhelming the Hojo men!

Takehiro would charge into the fray, swinging his spear wildly around himself. Rotating his body in a circle, he would cut at the men's chests, before lowering his body and continuing the rotation to slice at their shins. He would continue to push the Yoritomo back and keep them on the defensive, despite the odds. He had experience as a soldier, the men he faced here were simple.

[Morei Hideyasu]

- Hideyasu grimaced, seeing the additional Yoritomo docking and approaching them. He wondered when there would be an end to them, but with as many men as he had... they only had to cut down two a piece, and that was easy.

- Following their same strategy, Hideyasu and his unit would blend into the shadows, dispersing as to not get overwhelmed before slicing and dicing at the Yoritomo from all sides, Hideyasu himself planning on killing at least a dozen on his own.
