When Ryunosuke heard the news about a local landlord setting up courses for tests of stealth, he wasted no time to go there. Apparently there was some reward waiting for those who finish either course, and he definitely wanted a challenge, and so he wore his darkest set of clothes, and, placing his pistol on his holster, he set his way towards the stealth training course.
As he walked towards the course, he saw two men guarding the entrance. Seeing those two, he quietly moved towards the east wall of the castle unnoticed. He then tied his gun to a rope that he had brought with him, he then threw the gun across the wall. Tugging it until the rope doesn't budge, he scaled the east wall, leading him to the inside yard of the castle.
When he went down the wall, he immediately noticed a guard standing there! Fortunately though, the guard did not heard anything. Not waiting until the guard discovered him, he used his gun to strike the nape of the guard, knocking him out. He was about to hide the body when another guard sprinted across the yard towards the fallen one.
"Damn it, I should have looked into my surroundings," he muttered as he saw the guard. He then hid behind a tree near the fallen guard, and then, as the other guard checked on the fallen guard, he climbed the tree, still hiding himself from the guard awake. Fortunately the guard didn't see him, and focused on the fallen one, Suddenly, from the tree, a noose wrapped over the neck of the guard, and then as the noose tighten up and the guard pulled into the tree, Ryunosuke fell down from the tree, holding the other side of the rope. The guard struggled to free himself from the noose, but Ryunosuke tugged tightly at his end of the rope, causing the guard to lose air and faint. Ryunosuke then untied the guard from his hanging on the tree, and then hid both bodies in the outhouse. But it did not end there, as the two men at the gate decided to walk into the castle.
As Ryunosuke hid beneath the bushes, he saw the two walk separate ways, one going into the castle, and one going to the outhouse. As the man who was about to go to the outhouse passed by the bush where Ryunosuke was hiding, Ryunosuke quickly chucked a rock towards his head, knocking the man out. He then followed the other man, and when he got the chance, he threw a noose towards him, and as he pulled the rope with a burst of strength, the man passed out. He then hid the two bodies in the same outhouse where he hid the others, and then closed the door and barred it from the outside.
"Now that was close," Ryunosuke muttered, wiping the sweat of anxiety off his forehead. He should be careful next time, as 6 people still remain in the castle.
As he traversed the east side of the castle, hiding beneath shrubbery most of the time, he saw the front of the castle, and, as he expected, there are four guards guarding each corner of the castle. However, one of the guards, the one at the front-right, took notice of the loss of the guards patrolling the castle, and left his post. Ryunosuke took notice of this movement, and, when he was far away from the other guards, he stalked towards him and whipped his pistol at his head, felling him. He then hid the body beneath the bushes, and then walked again towards the castle, now near the left end. Beneath the bushes at the left side of the castle, he then got a coin from his purse, a large gold one, and then rolled it over to the front of the castle. Seeing the gold coin, the guard at the front-left portion chased it, and when he was about to pick the coin from the ground, a noose came flying from behind him, and before he knew it, the noose landed on his shoulders, and then he was tackled from behind into the ground, tightening the noose into such degree that it choked the guard. After senseless kicking and clawing, the guard passed out. Ryunosuke then returned the coin into his purse, and dragged the guard behind the outhouse. He then returned from where he was hiding in the bushes at the left wing of the castle, where the guard from the rear-left wing was running down the hallway, apparently seeing that the guard at his front is gone. Ryunosuke quickly moved behind the guard and struck his head, the guard falling down unconscious. He then quickly hid the guard under the hallway and then moved stealthily towards the last guard outside the castle. Using again the noose, he quickly threw it at the guard, and pulled him to the ground, knocking him out.
After dragging the guard and hiding him under the hallway, Ryunosuke walked inside the castle. What he saw was a wide hallway with many rooms, and, seeing the two guards inside, he quickly hid himself in the room nearest to the entrance of the castle. While hiding in what seems to be the receiving area, he saw a guard about to go out of the castle. When the guard reached the room where Ryunosuke was hiding, Ryunosuke swooped downward behind the guard, gagging him in the process with the rope. When the guard was about to shout, Ryunosuke held both ends of the rope with his left hand, and while exerting a pull with his left hand, felling the guard, he struck the guard's nape with his gun in his right hand, knocking him out. He then threw the guard into a chest, and then placed weights on it. He then moved room through another room until he saw a man guarding a door from the paper doors from where he was hiding. The other door from where Ryunosuke was hiding was open, revealing a view of the rear-left corner of the castle. Apparently the guard noticed the loss of the guard who was stationed there, and went towards that corner, coming towards the room where Ryunosuke was hiding. One step into that room later, Ryunosuke could be found behind the guard, smacking the guard's head with the pistol. That seemed not to fell the guard, but even before he turned around or say a word, another smack from the pistol felled him down to the ground unconscious. Ryunosuke then hid the guard in another chest, locking it.
"At last this task is finished," Ryunosuke sighed as he went out of the castle, barring the gate from the inside as he left the castle grounds. He wondered what sort of reward will the landlord give him.

After that crash course on firing with a bow, now the militia commander summoned all of the militia again, including Ryunosuke, to the training grounds. Having taken his leave before, Ryunosuke still felt refreshed. It was time for another training in the marksmanship course, that being the usage of the rifle. Now Ryunosuke had much experience using a pistol in combat, but he had not learned to use a full-length rifle yet. A new drill commander had been selected for this training, and rifles were handed over to each member of the militia. And with that, the militia set out to a forest clearing for training.
Training dummies are erected on the other end of the clearing, while the militia formed lines at the front of the dummies, the nearest man being 100 yards away from each dummy. The militia would fire in serial fashion; with the one who had shot at the dummy will go at the back of his line after the shot. But when Ryunosuke was called, he was still wrestling with the ramrod. Apparently Ryunosuke did not know yet how to use the rod, as his pistol also had a mechanism that replaced the ramrod when he reloads it. It had taken some minutes before Ryunosuke finally aimed at the training dummy with the rifle ready. When he fired the rifle, the recoil made the rifle his shoulders, making him miss the mark. Cursing himself for that miss, Ryunosuke went back to his line for his second shot. On his second shot, Ryunosuke held the rifle steadily, such that even if the rifle recoils, he would not be hurt by the recoil. He fired the shot, and it hit the dummy’s head, but it would be a miss if his rifle swung too much. The third and fourth shots saw the outcomes nearing the center of the dummy’s head, and on the remaining rounds of shooting, the shots passed clean through the center of the dummy’s head.
Or another round of training, the drill commander wanted to test the accuracy of the militia towards a moving target by throwing bags of sand upward in the air. The militia again lined up for this task, but now there is only one line. When Ryunosuke’s turn was up, he aimed at the bag as it was thrown in the air. The shot was then fired, but the shot came too late for it to hit the bag, which landed on the ground with no holes. Dejected, Ryunosuke went back to his line and watched the others fire at the sand bags. Apparently those who waited for the bag to come under their aim were more successful than those who did not, and so Ryunosuke adopted that practice. He steadily aimed his rifle at the spot where he thought the bag would pass, and just before the bag passed through his aim, he fired the shot. The bag exploded, scattering dust on the ground. The tactic successful, Ryunosuke tried it again and again, each sand bag that he fired upon becomes either exploded or punctured. Very good, he thought. Now he had no qualms holding a longer firearm, now that he had used it satisfactorily.

Ryunosuke heaved a sigh of relief when he and the woman finished off all the knights. At last they were finished, they could get out pretty easily right now. And now, as the poison strikes again, he thought they should leave before any more monsters will spawn.
"Let's get out of here for now," Ryunosuke said, his left hand grasping his chest. "I would not want to risk fighting a darkness dragon in this situation." He then picked up another set of armor before going to the entrance.

As the knights failed to materialized their weapons, Ryunosuke felt a good victory. But as the poison again assailed him he groaned in pain as he knelt to the ground. This would go on for some time, but time is something that Ryunosuke didn't have. He then stared at the knights. There seemed to be four left, some headless, some not. He again aimed at the knights and fired at them as many times as possible with his two guns. He should not let these knights wreak havoc on their party.

Ryunosuke did not expect that coming. An explosion tripped him over after they had killed his opponent knight, and now a strange sickness afflicted him, beating the insides of his body senselessly. With a groan he picked up the armor and the weapon of the fallen knight, and as he was wearing them, another amount of balls of darkness appeared, spawning the knights that they had already beaten. What's worse, some more creatures and crawlers started spawning, attacking them on all sides. Without much delay, he used his guns to aim at the most serious enemies: the knights. He would fire as much ammunition as possible at the knights, their gauntlets as much as possible. He didn't want to risk being attacked by those weapons again.

"All right, you've got persistence, eh?" Ryunosuke muttered as he saw the knight charge. The weapon he wielded was lying down at the ground, the knight unable to use it. It seemed somewhat powerful, and Ryunosuke thought it would be better to shoot using that gun than what he currently had. Seeing the charging knight he would move rightwards, firing at the knight, until he had made an arc towards the dropped weapon, picking it up. He then would use the dropped weapon to fire at the knight, while moving away.

Now Ryunosuke had almost seen the end of his battle. His opponent knight had dropped his weapon to the ground, and it looks like he was weakening. Seeing the weapon fall down to the ground Ryunosuke thought it better to take the knight's weapon so that he will not have a chance to attack him. But as it was still dangerous to get near the knight, he walked cautiously to the knight shooting down the remaining pieces of his armor, but when he would again be fired upon by that weapon or other means he would move away again, shooting while dodging anything hurled by the knight.

"Whoa, did that knight became berserk?" Ryunosuke said as he watched the knight fire his weapon like crazy. The chest plate of the knight was gone, the few small remaining pieces of armor next. He would try to evade all of the shots fired at him, while moving away from Iemasa and Ryunosuke's enemy knight, and fire at his opponent's armor pieces every time that he could fire. "This must be finished quickly," he thought, while pondering of the fates of his other teammates, who suffered reverses while fighting the knights.

Ryunosuke just continued to move backwards and sidewards while he saw what was happening around him. Apparently the woman just crushed her opponent to the ground, breaking each and every armor, with each armor breaking a shriek of pin could be herd. And then, when Iemasa managed to remove the knight's helmet, it seemed to groan in pain. Oh so that was the key.
Ryunosuke then glanced back again at his opponent. It seemed that he pulled out his weapon, and that weapon's handicraft impressed him. It was like a fusion of a pistol and a wakizashi, with the wakizashi serving as the stock and handle of the pistol. But it was not time for admiring things, as the knight used the weapon to shoot him at the legs. Ryunosuke would try to evade the shots fired at him, while using his to crush more of his opponent's armor. Even if he would be incapacitated by this enemy, he would fire endlessly at the enemy, maybe until he could not fire his shots any longer.

As Ryunosuke became jubilant due to the victory now near, they were blasted each by one ball of darkness. As he recuperated from the blow, he saw one knight of darkness who was about to attack him
"Oh shoot, what would be next, a darkness dragon?" Ryunosuke muttered as he moved away from the knight, firing as many shots from his pistol that would hit the chest of the knight as possible while moving away.
"Take these, sucker!" he roared.

Ryunosuke heaved a sigh of relief as he managed to defeat all of his three opponents in no time. Now as the bravo named Maki tried to defeat his opponents by himself, Ryunosuke set his sight towards the chest, and the two that were near it.
"Can you remove that chest from there?" Ryunosuke asked. But he was again anxious, thinking that there were still many obstacles on the way. He then searched out for more creatures around the floor, walls and the ceiling. There might be more of them, and if that, it is his turn to protect Maki.

"...Oh shoot." Those were the only words said by Ryunosuke when he saw that they were attacked on all sides. He again readied his pistol, aiming at each creature. He should fire a number of shots to get rid of these creatures attacking him, or, if worse comes to worse, he would have to ram his pistol at the eye socket of one of the creatures before shooting it and another monster out of the way.

As Ryunosuke managed to blast the creature's head off with a shot from his pistol, he felt relieved. Now he may not search for that creature's weakness. The door ahead, with a slight glow, crumbled down, revealing the same treasure chest as the one they had. But Ryunosuke thought that it was far too easy for that. As the courier boy and the woman again went ahead to move the chest to the entrance, he looked around him. Once gain, two people were enough for the job, since in battle that two could become four people as there are two gunners behind them. He stayed in his position, ready to cover fire the two who went forward.

"Looks like our problem's gonna end here," Ryunosuke said, looking at the lone zombie swordsman at their front, when suddenly, due to a sudden shriek above them, he saw five creatures crawling up the walls, and they looked very creepy.
"Oh damn it!" he muttered as he aimed again his pistol, now at the head of the creature. He was unsure about this situation and just hoped a crushing blow to the head would finish each creature.

The door opened as the people made their way to it, and a gust of wind shot up from the inside. With the wind was the strong smell of decaying flesh and the screams of what should be a thousand souls trapped in the chamber. This was no joke: this chamber really killed a lot of people on the way.
"Damn it, this has to be the guards' garrison," Ryunosuke said, covering his nose and coughing. They had entered a dark room filled with decayed and decaying bodies. Some were even dangling from the ceiling. Suddenly their route of escape is barred by a wall of darkness, and candles all around the room lit up, showing that some of the bodies reanimate.
"Oh no, I hope this doesn't mean that we will kill off something that is already dead," Ryunosuke muttered as the zombies already had gotten up and charged at them. He loaded a ball larger than his original shot into his pistol and aimed at the necks of the zombies. He thought that decapitation is one option, and that shooting them at the head means nothing. He sought to decapitate one zombie with one shot of his weapon, and hoped that he would get as many shots as he could.

"Wait, wha..." he muttered as he and the other people were sucked again into the darkness that engulfed them at the entrance. Fortunately they ended up again at the entrance, and then two sets of doors appeared, at the middle and the right.
"Now I wonder what's in there," Ryunosuke thought as he gazed at the doors. He then heard the "courier boy" mutter about how to unlock the chest, and then he thought about thee doors again. "Maybe the answer lies there," he said, pointing at each of the doors. As he saw the other two walk towards the middle door, he just shrugged, "Whatever, as long as we're complete we would manage to get through any disaster. I'll follow you two." With that he also motioned for the middle door.

Ryunosuke and the other gunner had managed to kill off half of the birds before the bravo relentlessly struck down the remainder of the birds, which finished their first trouble. The first, that is. Unless they were able to get out of the castle premises will these random disasters continue. Ryunosuke then turned to the other side of the hall where the two managed to smuggle the chest out of the trap-ridden place and to the other gunman's hands.
As the other gunner complimented his capacity to shoot firearms, Ryunosuke complimented him in return, "And you have got a very keen eye to complement your very good concentration. My poor artillery doesn't even compare!" He grinned at the man while saying those words. And then he said to the bravo, "Hang on in there, we need you more before we get out of this place." He then looked around him. "Now how do we leave this place." He then will search for exits that they can pass to get out of this trap-infested hall.

Ryunosuke let out a triumphant grin as the metal ball plunged over 10 of the birds and he as well as the other gunman mnged to kill 6 more birds in total. With the number of birds decimated to 12, a number less than half of the original number of birds, it would be a short walk for them.
Seeing the two other people slide out the chest to their direction, Ryunosuke felt more elated. He might have been in a very competitive team, as what he did not expect as when he saw the other rifleman im his weapon at him and the others. And it seemed that the "pessimist" was in a mood to fire up, as he volunteered to do what Ryunosuke expected him to do: as the hulking strongman to shield the weak marksmen while they do the shots.
Following the bravo's suggestion, he aimed from under his arm, behind him. He then replied, "I would just hope you don't lower your arms too much as I don't want a misfire." He then calmly aimed from his position, aiming at the most number of birds possible, but taking care not to injure the person who vowed to protect him.

As Ryunosuke saw his shot only hit one of the birds, he was clearly frustrated. At this rate of killing birds, they would all be cut up before we finished all of them. But he did not really have a choice but to depend on his gun to kill the birds.
"If only I was a foot taller..." he muttered, when he heard the woman alert them about being hit by her weapon. As he looked above him, he saw the ball and chain directly above him.
With a forced exhalation, he would tumble over to another safe spot, and there he would resume sniping off the birds as of his original plan.

As he watched again the woman do her thing, Ryunosuke was impressed. "We would really be going somewhere!" was the joyful thought that was running on his mind when, he heard a door open from the ceiling directly above him and the other two who were left at the entrance. He gazed upward, and he saw a number of dark birds swarming towards them.
"Who would have thought...!" he muttered as he quickly crouched and took aim at the birds with his pistol. As much as possible, he would want to kill as many of these birds as possible with one shot, and as many shots of that kind as possible.

Ryunosuke just watched as the woman revealed most of the traps that her weapon could reach. Spikes were flying in the air, and the ball and chain smashed through the walls and the floors, revealing a lot of traps that were supposed to be their doom if they accidentally triggered it.
Taking note of the traps that were triggered by the woman's ball, he was about to walk forward to take note of the traps farther off, when the "courier boy" advanced, taking that role, and while finding triggers, threw some daggers on the floor and walls ahead to see if they triggered some traps. When he was finished, the woman also came forward, readying her ball and chin to smash out more traps ahead.
Two people are enough for that role, given the unsteady nature of the hall, which became even more unsteady due to the woman's actions. With the pessimist and the rifleman, he also stayed behind, seeking out triggers, and if he sees one very far ahead, he would alert the two who had advanced.

As Ryunosuke and the others walked into the castle, a combined force of wind and darkness sucked them into a hallway. The hallway was straight, and it led directly into a treasure chest, but Ryunosuke thought it was a far too easy victory. The ceiling, walls, and the floor are somewhat creaky, and the smell of rotten flesh gave it away that there are also many sorts of traps all around the way
"I would dare think that this hall killed too many greedy travelers on the way. I suggest we should search for some hidden traps, and disarm or detonate them safely."
There was that suggestion by the person who was called "courier boy" by another man, that they use a rope to go to the treasure, and that indeed was true due to the fragile nature of the floor. The woman heeded the "courier boy" by using her weapon to smash through the floor and walls to make a possible way for them to travel through the hall without walking down there. But Ryunosuke still felt something was off, and so he still looked out for hidden traps in the hall.

Ryunosuke, on hearing the sudden question about his age, became flushed. Of course with the facial features as his and his height, he would look like a 10-year-old child. He doesn't really know how to explain this situation to Hiroshi, as his circumstances didn't permit him to do so.

When Ryunosuke was asked about his age, he was truthful in his answer, and the leader was so shocked that he didn't see the leader again, except on some general call-to-arms. But the truth was the truth, and so Ryunosuke hoped it doesn't shock Hiroshi.
"I'm... seventeen."
