Shit he was fast. I barely had enough time to side step the attack. I didn't keep my left arm close enough to my body however, and it was cut just above the elbow. RYUUSHOUSEN! After the side step, I rotated my body in a full 360 degrees, and used the combined speed and momentum of the spin along with the strength of my own swing to hit at Yukimura's back if Yukimura had continued to charge past me, or his side if he had halted.

I kept my left hand on the sheath of my sword as I entered the castle. Doing this allowed me to easily shift to a battoujutsu stance if I needed to. I walked forward until I reached a three way split. I wondered which way to go as I turned my head slowly from the right to the left, fixating at the hall on my left. Something drew me to it and so I turned to my left and continued to walk through it, wondering what sort of perils lie ahead.

Seven left. I let out a breath. I was getting nervous, but I had already taken down more than half of them. As the group can running at me, I threw my hand up, grabbing a hold on the edge of a low roof. I quickly hoisted myself up onto the roof. I had to lose them. Luckily I had taken that training in stealth. Quickly, I ran across the roof and jumped onto another near by one, before jumping down and turning a corner. Hopefully that was enough to confuse the rogues on where I was. I would have to use hit and run, sneak attacks to get rid of the rest of these guys. I only hoped that they would split up and search for me.

I turned around to face the voice. Looking at the girl, I sighed and removed my hands from my sword and sheath. I wasn't sure if her scared act was just that, an act or if she was genuinely scared of me. None the less... if she did try to attack me, I would be able to catch her off guard with my hidden blade even if I couldn't reach my katana.
"No."
I started walking towards the entrance of the castle. I didn't care much for conversing with some strange girl who enjoyed watching people approach castles. I stopped at the foot of the stairs before looking up at the large doors of the castle. There was no going back now. I had to go forward. I couldn't stand not to go forward. I stepped up to the castle doors and threw them open with both hands.

[[OoC: Seiko first. PM me if you want to join.]]
I spurred my horse to go faster as we ran through the forest. I was a man on a mission. Rumors of this Numa Castle had reached me in my base village of operations. Great treasure was inside of the castle... and I would be the one to reach it. That treasure would come in handy to start my army. I had also heard stories that people who went through this castle had become immensely more powerful.
I slowed down as I reached the marshlands, careful not to get my horse stuck. It took us a while, but soon enough we approached the castle. As we did, I dismounted my horse and stroked it's mane softly, "Rest now partner. You did great." I turned back towards the castle, almost glaring at it. I took a step forward, placing my left hand on my sheath.
"Numa Castle. Quite a sight... wouldn't you say?"
I spoke to the other person who was present there. I had no idea if they were trying to sneak up on me or not. Or even who this person was. So I exercised caution, putting my right hand on my sword's hilt. I prepared myself for having to swing a battoujutsu if this person was really here for a fight.

I stumbled as my jump wasn't enough to catch the horse backed rider. I fell and rolled forward, the villagers all rushing past me. I got back up in time to watch the villagers charge and get slaughtered... only taking down one of the bandits. Quickly, I made my way back to the tavern. This time I rolled out an entire barrel of sake. I rolled it out to the center of the village. From there I took a long wire dipping it in the sake to make sure it was flammable, and hid it in one of the side alleys. I had to time this perfectly. I had to make them come to the barrel. I ran to the bandits stopping about 5 meters away from them. I grabbed the hilt of my sword but didn't draw it. Instead I glared them down and decided to provoke them.
"WHAT MONSTERS YOU ARE! Attacking helpless villagers! If you have the, courage then fight me, who already slaughtered half of your men! Battle me in the town's square!"
I ran back to the square hoping they'd give chase. I would quickly jump out to the side ducking into one of the alleys. Hopefully they wouldn't see me and continue into the square. If I saw them pass me, I would light a match and arm the fuse I had created. With any luck... this would take out most of them.

[[OoC: Stats for fight Strength: 15
Dexterity: 13
Constitution: 15 Wisdom: 9
Spirit: 10]]
I walked into the woodland area, stepping onto the dirt path. Forested areas like this were not my forte, but I would force myself to adjust to it. After all, if I didn't I would lose. And losing was not an option. I took my fighting stance as I sized up my opponent. I led with my left food sliding my right back. My left arm raised itself as though holding a shield and my right fist hung at chest level. I would wait for the fool who thought he would be able to match me to attack first.
"What kind of person bleaches his hair white? If you want to be a ghost that badly, I'll turn you into one."

Good, I took most of them out. The remaining two tried to attack me on horseback. As the man jumped down trying to stab me, I didn’t bother parrying or deflecting the blow. That would be far too hazardous. RYUUKANSEN! I would narrowly side step to the right, my left upper-arm receiving a shallow cut. I grimaced and put myself into a spin, grabbing my sheath as I did. I slashed at the bandit’s back with both my sword and sheath, using the force of the spin to supplement my attack.
If that attack succeeded in knocking out my foe, I would sheath my sword and place it back on my hip. From there, I would run at and then attempt to jump onto the horse that the other remaining bandit rode, from behind. If successful, I would attempt to stab the bandit in the back of the neck with the hidden blade mounted on my left wrist. If I felled my foe, I would grab the reins and turn to the villagers, unsheathing and raising my katana into the air.
“If you people have the mettle, then I would lead you to victory!”

Dammit… this village had been harboring me for a while now. And I was actually beginning to like these people. I had to stop these bandits somehow. Quickly I took bottles of sake from the tavern and ran out. I had stuffed the bottles with cloth and then struck a match. Lighting the cloth on fire, I threw two bottles at the bandits that attacked from the village’s entrance. I would stop these fools first. I pulled my katana out and pointed it at them. I had to get their attention.
“Hey asswipes. I’ll be your opponent.”

I smirked as I put down the board. I walked back around the front as well, putting some distance between Yukimura and myself. I stood out in the courtyard in front of the dojo. I placed my left hand on my sheath as I took my stance, placing my right foot forward and my left foot facing the side. I bent my knees, leaning forward slightly.
"Truth be told Sanada-San. I was looking forward to this."
I took the hilt of my sword and drew it out. I drew a line on the ground signifying that I was ready. Taking the hilt of my katana with both hands I held it with the blade aimed low, utilizing less energy. I had to get a feel of my opponent before I just started swinging. So I waited for Yukimura to attack.

Let’s go… you can do this. You know how to do this. I waited as a few enemies came running at me. Ryuukansen! Crouching low, I side stepped the first one still facing forward. Quickly I put my sword at about stomach level, I quickly slashed horizontally and put myself into a spin. With this technique, I slashed the two who were still charging at me across the stomach, and slashed across the one that passed me’s back. I aimed my sword down and looked at the next oncoming enemy. I wasn’t done yet.
I crouched low and darted forward. Ryuushousen! As I approached my enemy I jumped forward slashing upward with my sword’s sharp edge, placing my hand on the dull end of my blade, I slaced the man’s throat and chin vertically. I continued to jump higher into the air. This was it. Ryutsuisen! I grabbed the hilt of my blade with both hands, bringing it up over my head. I slashed down at my enemy’s head from above, bisecting the man once I finished. Quickly I sheathed my sword, returning to a battoujutsu stance. I unsheathed my sword with great force horizontally and combined it with the spin from the Ryuukansen, striking down another three. I turned to face the others, they seemed almost petrified by fear.
”These… these guys are crazy! First fire now this! SOMEONE GET THE BOSS!”

“PREPARE YOURSELF!”
I finished unsheathing my sword and jetted forward, holding my sheath in my left hand. I slashed forward, my sword meeting metal. I saw another sword coming directly at me. I thrust my sheath up blocking the attack. I pushed forward with my left hand, moving the man that held the katana that my sheath blocked into the man that was currently blocking my slash. The two stumbled into each other falling. Quickly, I slashed horizontally, pulling my arm across from the right. I rotated my body to push more force into the attack. The two enemies fell in agonizing pain. I stopped my rotation with my back facing the enemy and sheathed my sword.
“Not done yet…”
Quickly I spun around to face the enemy. As I spun around, I quickly pulled my sword free from my sheath. The sheath guided the attack and my battojutsu, while not amazing, slashed another man, thrusting him back, bleeding. I slashed the air to throw the blood off of the blood. I tucked my sheath into my belt quickly, and grabbed my sword with two hands as I waited for the next attack.
“How you doing over there Haji?!”

“Shut up and stay low then!”
I grabbed Haji’s head and pushed him down. I also crouched low and kept my eyes on the gang of idiots coming after us. I took in a deep breath and turned Haji. I had to tell him the rest of the plan before we attacked.
“After we drop the barrels, I’ll get their attention, I want you to outflank them and get them from behind. The roads narrow enough that a bunch won’t be able to attack us.”
I motioned with my fingers to tell him when I was going to pull the wire. Three… two… one… I pulled the wire and allowed the barrels to drop down on the gang, the fuses lit they’d explode on their way down. As they did, I jumped down from the side of the building and swung around in front of them, holding my katana up as I slowly began to unsheathe it.
“I heard you were looking for me.”

"I see a spear. An interesting weapon. I was under the assumption most men in this country used a katana."
I guess I had a couple misconceptions about Japan. Made sense... three months ago the only Japanese men I knew of were myself and Ryouji and we both used katana. I walked back over to the pile of wood and picked up another plank, hoisting it over my shoulder before walking over and preparing it for Sanada. I wondered... was there a prowess to spear over the katana? The spear had reach, but the katana had a larger striking area, allowing for larger wounds. I figured it was probably difficult to slash with one as well, at least in comparison to a sword.
"I wonder Sanada-San, which style is truly greater? The spear or the sword?"

I walked over and caught the barrels of sake that Haji brought to me. These would be perfect. As he brought them to me, I set them up on different rooftops, connecting them all with the wire and the and the wood. The wood was a stopper, it held the sake in places. A fuse was placed on each barrel such that when the wire was pulled the match would light the fuse. As the wires were pulled the wood blocks would move free of the barrels path down the curved roof tops.
"I'd say there's about a 75% chance of all of this blowing up in our faces. Literally."
I smirked a bit and stood as I walked over to the edge of the rooftop looking out to see if the enemy was coming. I turned back to speak to the kid.
"You still with me then Haji?!"
I forgot that in Japan it was considered rude to call someone by their first name without being close. Not to mention the complete lack of an honorific.

I snarled as I held my back against the tree as arrows rained down on the men. The cavalry stayed as far back as they could with their horses attempting to stay away from arrow shots. I looked at the leader of my squad. He stood there shaking. Like I could belittle him for it… I stood there shaking as well… I didn’t envy his position of leadership. I wasn’t sure I could do any better than him.
“You need to come up with something for us to do!”
”I… I… I don’t know…”
“God dammit… you men come with me!”
I sheathed my sword and crouched low as I started to move against the cover of trees. I looked around to pinpoint the location of the archers. We couldn’t just attack them head on… If we did, we’d be done. But the entire group couldn’t just flank them. We’d be spotted far too easily. Hmm… but maybe that could work.
“Alright men… here’s the plan…”
The horses were sent out. The men rode out onto the battlefield as the rest of the squad moved quickly. While the archers had their focus on the horses, we ran through the side of the field and out-flanked the archers. To their surprise, it was our entire squad that attacked the archers. I smirked seeing the shock on all of their faces.
Out on the battlefield, the horses continued to run across the battlefield as the “men” that were mounted on them fell to the ground. You see… the men that were falling to the ground were nothing more than the armor of my actually men filled with tree leaves and twigs. From a distance, it was enough for the archers to believe that it was the actual men charging out to battle. From there we had rubbed dirt against our bodies to blend in with the ground.
I unsheathed my katana, without my kimino and roared at the enemy as I charged them. The dirt served a secondary purpose as well. It was a form of war paint and intimidated the enemy as we charged them. I slashed three down, hitting them with the blunt ends of the sword and smacked the hilt against another’s head. Running at him, I jumped up and planted both of my feet onto their squad leader’s chest.
“Tell your group to stand down or else my men will keep attacking.”

What a farce this is. What need does a samurai have such deceit and deception. To fight my enemy without being seen? I scoffed at the thought of it. I had studied with the Grand Master of the Assassin Order for all of Germany himself, and yet I had a very tenuous grasp at the art of sneaking around. I only prayed that I would be able to recall my training and put an end to this quickly.
Quickly I moved through the castle remaining undetected. My katana was left at home and I moved in my tabi rather than my regular sandals. I saw the shadow of a guard approaching around the corner. This was just perfect for me. Quickly, I turned into a room. Finding it empty, I slid the door shut behind me. Then I waited. Closing my eyes, I allowed my ears to have the task of waiting for this solo enemy to come my way.
~He’s here.~
I slid the door open quickly grabbing the man, and pivoted on my foot slamming him to the ground and shutting the sliding door in one movement. Pulling my right fist back I slammed it into the man’s face. Pulling it back, I repeated the motion four more times until the man was unconscious. I took a moment to regain my composure and catch my breath.
“Sorry for being so rough with you… But I don’t have time for games.”
I uttered quietly under my breath. I stripped the man of his armor and adorned it onto myself. After about ten minutes I had finished tightening all of the straps. I tilted the helmet down a bit to cover my face. I had ripped part of my belt and fashioned it into a face mask to further hide my identity. There was one man down. Using his own tunic, I tied the man up hiding him in the room. This wasn’t enough… I had to move faster. Now that I had cover… that wouldn’t be a problem.
I started to walk through the halls looking for my next target. I had to find a lone soldier… perfect here’s one. I put my hand up in a motion to high-five the man as I walked past, while shouting a friendly hey. The soldier would respond with a friendly hello and high five me as we walked past each other. I would simply grab his wrist, twisting his arm behind his back. From there, I would wrap my other arm around his neck, flexing my muscle against his neck. I held him there until he fell unconscious, slowly moving down to my knees as to make a thud from the man’s body hitting the ground. “HEY! WHAT’S GOING ON?!”
Tch… Another one. I had to think fast.
“Sir! It’s the mercenary! He went down that way!”
I pointed down the hall. The guard immediately started running in the direction that I pointed to. As he was about to pass me, I slid my left arm out to knock him over. The man took quite a tumble, rolling forward a few times before he stopped on his back. The last thing he would see would be my frame as I came running at him. Jumping up, I stomped down onto the man’s stomach, knocking him out as well. That made three. Once more I tied up these men and hid their bodies.
I found two guards talking with each other down the hall. I approached them unassumingly; I put my hands up as if to sling them around their shoulders in friendship. Instead… I slammed their heads together. From there, I punched the one in the left with my right fist, planting it into his diaphragm. After that, I pulled my arm back and slammed my elbow into the man on the right’s diaphragm. This put my count at five.
I ran down the hall quickly, searching for another guard. And just then, I found another three. I stumbled… on purpose. I would trick these three into helping me.
“We need help down the hall! I found two of us collapsed!”
”What?! Show us!”
I led them back to the men, running. Once there we decided to regroup. The four of us picked up the two unconscious bodies and lifted them up. Then we brought the bodies to a room at my suggestion… the one that housed the other unconscious men. The three were shocked stun. I swung the unconscious man I held by the legs, smacking all three of them around. Quickly I darted between them, punching each in the throat. That made eight. I tied up the rest of the idiots and went back out on the hunt.
This time I took to the crawl space between the ceiling and the next floor. I had already gotten rid of the armor as it would have been far too heavy for the ceiling. From there, I heard the last two guards, worrying that they hadn’t heard from their team mates. I dropped down on them…. Literally jumping on their heads from above, I smashed them to the ground. Stomping my foot down on each of their stomachs for good measure, I shouted. Heh… I guess there was a good side to all of this sneaking around… something I didn’t understand back when I was training with the Assassins.
“I think I’m about done here. You guys going to bring me my money or what?”

"Yes of course."
I walked over to the pile of planks and picked one up before handing it up and over to Yukimura. Heh.... I guess it felt kind of good to do something with your hands besides just fight. I always thought that bonds were built on the battlefield. Perhaps they could be made in other ways?
"I practice the Hiten-Mitsurugi Ryu. In truth, I believe I may be the last practitioner of this ancient school of sword left in the Land of the Rising Sun. How about you, Sanada-San? What style do you practice? I believe I saw the head of a polearm earlier when I approached."
