Cause I Run This Village

Type of Quest: Battle against bandits.

Quest Info: A village has been raided by bandits the same time every year. The village doesn’t have the money to pay for mercenaries and lies at the edge of military borders, thus not within any factions district. The objective is to fight back the bandits and kill their leader.

Location: A small farming village right past the edge of Oda’s territory.

People Involved: Masahiro Yuy, the bandits.

Plot-Important: Not meant to change the plot of the board.

The men and women of the village barricaded themselves inside their homes, that same time of year coming. It was a time they all knew and loathed, and they had no means of protecting themselves. They just put every heavy thing they owned in front of their doors and hoped the men would just run through and leave.

A group of ten bandits rushed in the village entrance, and ten more at its "exit," one of the men from each group on horseback. Immediately, they would begin tearing through the homes indiscriminately.

If Masahiro was here to play hero, he would have a tough time.

Dammit… this village had been harboring me for a while now. And I was actually beginning to like these people. I had to stop these bandits somehow. Quickly I took bottles of sake from the tavern and ran out. I had stuffed the bottles with cloth and then struck a match. Lighting the cloth on fire, I threw two bottles at the bandits that attacked from the village’s entrance. I would stop these fools first. I pulled my katana out and pointed it at them. I had to get their attention.



“Hey asswipes. I’ll be your opponent.”

The bottles of alcohol would explode upon impact, immediately taking out four bandits each! The man on the horse managed to grab one of his friends and speed through the village, looking to take out the bastard with the clever attacks. One of the men jumped off the horse, swinging a spear, and looking to impale Masahiro through the chest!

Upon noticing the explosion, a few of the village men decided maybe they'd help out their savior, and took up arms, charging the bandits approaching from the exit!

Good, I took most of them out. The remaining two tried to attack me on horseback. As the man jumped down trying to stab me, I didn’t bother parrying or deflecting the blow. That would be far too hazardous. RYUUKANSEN! I would narrowly side step to the right, my left upper-arm receiving a shallow cut. I grimaced and put myself into a spin, grabbing my sheath as I did. I slashed at the bandit’s back with both my sword and sheath, using the force of the spin to supplement my attack.

If that attack succeeded in knocking out my foe, I would sheath my sword and place it back on my hip. From there, I would run at and then attempt to jump onto the horse that the other remaining bandit rode, from behind. If successful, I would attempt to stab the bandit in the back of the neck with the hidden blade mounted on my left wrist. If I felled my foe, I would grab the reins and turn to the villagers, unsheathing and raising my katana into the air.

“If you people have the mettle, then I would lead you to victory!”

Masahiro was not able to catch up to the horse, though he did take out the man who attacked him! The bandit he tried to take the horse from was now on the other end of town, he and the other ten bandits mopping up the few villagers who tried to fight! Thankfully they took out at least one of the men!

I stumbled as my jump wasn't enough to catch the horse backed rider. I fell and rolled forward, the villagers all rushing past me. I got back up in time to watch the villagers charge and get slaughtered... only taking down one of the bandits. Quickly, I made my way back to the tavern. This time I rolled out an entire barrel of sake. I rolled it out to the center of the village. From there I took a long wire dipping it in the sake to make sure it was flammable, and hid it in one of the side alleys. I had to time this perfectly. I had to make them come to the barrel. I ran to the bandits stopping about 5 meters away from them. I grabbed the hilt of my sword but didn't draw it. Instead I glared them down and decided to provoke them.

"WHAT MONSTERS YOU ARE! Attacking helpless villagers! If you have the, courage then fight me, who already slaughtered half of your men! Battle me in the town's square!"

I ran back to the square hoping they'd give chase. I would quickly jump out to the side ducking into one of the alleys. Hopefully they wouldn't see me and continue into the square. If I saw them pass me, I would light a match and arm the fuse I had created. With any luck... this would take out most of them.

Masahiro's distraction tactic worked, though only after the group of villager vigilantes was slain. The bandits would charge toward him in the village square, and his alcoholic explosive would ignite, blasting away everything in a large radius. Only a few of the bandits entered the radius, however, and those who didn't were now enraged at what the boy had pulled! Seven of the men charged him now, each with their katanas at the ready!

Seven left. I let out a breath. I was getting nervous, but I had already taken down more than half of them. As the group can running at me, I threw my hand up, grabbing a hold on the edge of a low roof. I quickly hoisted myself up onto the roof. I had to lose them. Luckily I had taken that training in stealth. Quickly, I ran across the roof and jumped onto another near by one, before jumping down and turning a corner. Hopefully that was enough to confuse the rogues on where I was. I would have to use hit and run, sneak attacks to get rid of the rest of these guys. I only hoped that they would split up and search for me.

As Masahiro disappeared over the roof, the bandits would shout, "DAMN IT! TWO GROUPS! FIND THE FUCKER! YAMATO, GET THE REST OF THE GUYS!"

Two groups of three men would swarm around the building Masahiro leaped over, and soon, they would be directly at his location, coming from both sides!

Shit... I guess this was it for me. I could hear them coming from both sides, this wasn't good. I guess this was the place where I would make my last stand. I crouched low and grabbed a hold of the hilt of my sword. Bishimonten... I pray for your divine power to help me strike down my foes. I waited for the enemy to charge at me, holding the hilt of my sword tightly, the blade still completely sheathed.

The bandits would swarm Masahiro now, each drawing their blades as they spotted him! The first from either group would charge at him, while the back two stayed behind! The two bandits would slice at his waist, looking to cleave his legs off!

The villagers watched from their huts, most too scared to do anything!

"HEY!" One of them cried, leaving their hut with a giant hammer in his hands. "Get out of our village!"

The two came charging at me. As I was already crouching, I would spring my knees up launching myself vertically into the air. Probably not the best move but I didn't have the space to dodge both attacks from the side like that. I unsheathed my sword and brought it above my head at the pinnacle of my jump. RYUUTSUISEN! I grabbed the hilt of my blade with both hands and slashed downward, hoping to smash the hard edge against the head of the one that came from my left. As I landed, I would quickly bend my knees and crouch again before pivoting to face the one that came from my right. RYUUSHOUSEN! I launched upward once more, this slashing my blade upwards from the ground. I aimed to slice the underside of the bandit's chin with my blade and launch myself into the air once more. RYUUTSUISEN! If the Ryuushousen wasn't enough to kill that bandit, I would slash downwards aiming to slash him across his head, using my downward momentum from the fall of the jump.

Masahiro successfully eliminated the two bandits, and they dropped like flies! Two of the four charged him once again, one taking him from behind, while the other looked to disembowel him!

Two other bandits would rush the villager who came to Masahiro's aid! One quickly fell as the man slammed his hammer into the side of the bandits head, and he tackled the other to the ground, breaking their neck in one swift motion! He would run over to help Masahiro!

I stepped in to block the vision of both men as they charged me. I hoped to block their view of each other so that they wouldn't be able to see what the other was doing. As they both approached me to attack, I would swivel out of the way at the last second. Just placing myself out of their attack. I hoped that they wouldn't be able to stop their attacks in time and finish each other off for me. Even if they didn't... they still had to deal with me. RYUUKANSEN! After I side-stepped the attack, I would hold my blade at hip level, turning into a spin and swinging the sword horizontally at the same time. Hopefully I would be able to slash both of them.

Masahiro successfully avoided the attacks, but the men ended up clashing swords! They pushed off each other, Masahiro managing to carve through and kill one, but the other rushed him and kicked him to the ground! He was about to stab him, when the villager's hammer crashed into his skull and killed him!

"On your feet, Ronin," the man spoke, offering Masahiro a helping hand. "We've still got work to do!"

12 attacking either side of the village, one in the center, breaking through homes.

"Thank you."

I took the man's hand and noticed the sounds of horses. Dammit the reinforcements had already arrived. My fist shook as I sheathed my katana. I ran towards the sound of the houses being destroyed. I jumped up onto a roof top and ran along them searching for the man destroying the houses. As I saw him leave one of the houses, I jumped down at him. I grabbed my sheath with my left hand and the hilt of my katana with my right. SOURYUUSEN! I pulled my katana out of my sheath with immense force, slashing at the enemy, aiming to hit his chest. As my right hand did that, my left hand dragged my sheath along the same path, diverging at the very end aiming to hit the man in his kidney with my sheath. This way even if the first attack was blocked, he'd be too focused on that to block the second attack.

Masahiro slashed the bandit chief's chest and struck him in the kidney, and he keeled over in pain! Meanwhile, his partner took out five bandits and crushed their skulls! He seemed to have one side of the village covered all by his lonesome, and if that wasn't enough, five more villagers left their homes, armed with various household items!

"Get out of our village!"
