(After A Matter of Pride (Plot details discussed)) Takehiro's most capable ninjas head north through Shinano, straight up to Hida, where the Miki are based. These ninja are looking for any and all information they can use to make the territory claim that will follow that much easier. This includes all of the following: Important faces, troop locations, numbers, possible resources, etc. ANYTHING of use. If it is possible they can assassinate the Miki Daimyo in this quest, they will. If they can assassinate any high-ranking officers, change any necessary information, etc., they will do so.

Hida, deep in Miki territory.

Plot-Important: As far as board-plot, this would heavily affect things like Takeda-Amakusa relations, and could potentially drive the Amakusa into becoming a more prominent faction. So, yes.

The Amakusa Spy Squad travel through Shinano with relative ease and enter Hida undetected. They would find themselves in quite a large and luscious forest. They would have to navigate through it to find the closest village. Signs of lumbering would be abundant through out the forest.

"Shi no Kage" would lead through group through the forest, as they would each leap from tree to tree. They would keep a reasonable distance from each other so they could spot more threats and things of note, and get to each other quickly should they run into any trouble. "Senso no Inu" would user her powerful sense of smell to locate any nearby people who were not her squad, while "Chi no Kaze" would use her powerful ears to pick up any threats before they made it to the squad. Their goal was to make it to the castle and infiltrate it, and they would remain hidden at all times.

Unfortunately there were too many sounds and smells in the immediate area and they were overwhelming Senso no Inu and Chi no Kaze. They would have to wait a few minutes to readjust to the forest before trying to locate distinct sounds and smells.

The unit was expecting as much, though they were highly-trained in their respective arts, and their senses were honed basically to perfection. Senso no Inu and Chi no Kaze would allow their senses to adjust to the forest before picking apart distinctive sounds and smells. They would block out those of the natural forest, of their comrades, of Inu's blades, and of anything that belonged without the hand of man having touched it.

Chi no Kaze would be able to pick up the far away sound of axes striking lumber a few miles away. Meanwhile, Sense no Inu would able to smell about a dozen different scents, coming from different men from the same direction as the axes.

Keeping to the trees, Senso no Inu and Chi no Kaze would lead the group toward the sound of the axes. They would get as close as they could to see if the men they discovered bore the Mon of the Miki, and if they found soldiers, would map out the best means of attack. The six would remain hidden.

The group would find themselves at a lumber yard with a river adjacent to it. The area immediately behind the lumber yard would be completely clear and devoid of trees. It seemed the workers, had begun lumbering further up and continued down this way. Much further down Pesuto no Kaze would be able to see small saplings starting to regrow, growing in size the further back they want. Guarding the yard would be a group of 10 soldiers, with roughly 20 workers inside the yard. The workers would be chopping up lumber and loading it aboard boats on the river.

The six would spread out so they formed a circle around the camp, so currently they would not act. Pesuto no Kaze and Shi no Kage would use their sight to find any hints as to a high-value target. Shi no Kage would turn off all her other senses while she searched, having impeccable vision. The two would hopefully be able to spot anything of interest, as their priority was not to take down a lumber camp.

As they continued to watch and search, the two would notice a boat coming from upstream. The boat carried more soldiers and lumberers. The boat would soon drop anchor and the soldiers and lumberers would disembark. As they disembarked, some soldiers and lumberers who had previously been working put down their tools. They would continue onto the ship. The ship then pulled anchor and turned itself around before heading back upstream. It appeared as if they were done their shift, and were heading back home.

Pesuto no Kaze and Shi no Kage would watch the ship to see just how far it went, and Pesuto would fall it if it seemed there was a need to. Meanwhile, the others would continue to search the camp for anyone of note.
