Takehiro whirled around to run and assist his teammates as they seemed to be swarmed with those damn zombie bastards. Before he could do anything, though, it seemed he had to face an entirely new opponent, an armless one which seemed to rip through some portal of complete darkness.
Cursing, Takehiro ripped his spear in front of him in another horizontal arc as the beasts charged, looking to knock them away from him and give himself a chance to think and consider his options against these monsters. He needed to measure their speed, and if he would even be able to hit them.
"DON'T LET YOURSELVES GET SURROUNDED!"

Takehiro cheered as the bastard hit the floor, and he ran up to his speer, ripping it from the thing's flesh. For good measure, he stepped on its face, juuust to make sure it was dead dead. He rolled his shoulders back a little, sighing, and he checked on Hiroshi. "You all good?" He turned, extending his question to Haji and Yukimura.
If his group said they were all okay, he'd start heading over to the treasure box. The exploding door didn't surprise him after this clusterfuck.

Takehiro shrugged again. Maybe it was that kind of loyalty that some people needed. If every soldier under a daimyo wanted to lead that daimyo's forces, there would be no grunts, no one to actually go out and fight the battles, perform the menial tasks.
"I would not be so sure. Perhaps my lack of a lord for so long has made me too ambitious. There are several sides to any dream, you must understand. Though, I'm sure you do. Perhaps it is your work with the Takeda that you were meant to do. Sure, it may sound trivial, but what would happen if the messages for back-up were never delivered? An entire force would be wiped out overnight."
Maybe he sounded like he was getting overly philosophical, but it was true, wasn't it?

Wasting absolutely no time, the mercenary flipped his spear around, holding it up like a javelin. He eyed the creature about to tackle Hiroshi and, just as soon as it jumped, he launched the spear forward, aiming to impale the bastard somewhere. Just in case his spear missed, the mercenary also charged forward as fast as he could, aiming to tackle the beast either out of the air, or off Hiroshi. If the tackle was necessary and successful, he would rain fists down on the beast's face!

Takehiro abruptly stood up at the mention of the ninth sword, which he figured was a euphemism for the guy's dick. Letting out an intimidating roar, the mercenary picked the guy up by his throat, spun around and whirled him at the crotch men like they were bowling pins. Bowling doesn't exist yet though.
"You all can take your silly business somewhere else!"
I can bet you a dollar you've never heard someone say "silly" as fierce as Takehiro just did.

Takehiro nodded. There would be so many pros to living a life of peace, even though it may not be something the mercenary himself could really bear. He was a fighter who would find no use in a land of peace, but with the role of Shogun, he would end up having to deal with assassinations and battles outside of Japan. If it ever got that far, he felt he could handle it.
"If I did not think I could rule justly, I would not have these dreams. I've served under many a cruel daimyo, some as a hired hand, others as a ranking officer in their forces. I like to think I could make living conditions in this country wonderful again, if I had that much power. But, I'm far from that, unfortunately."

Though, that thought was shoved out of the mercenary's brain, and he stretched a little, taking in the scenery.

"Well, that's not to say you should just drop your allegiances to the Takeda and come join a man with no army, friend, certainly," A chuckle would be stifled after a good few seconds. The guy would have to be an idiot to do that, and Takehiro didn't peg him for an idiot.

Maybe the man did have a point, but that was just assuming Takehiro didn't know what he was going for. You couldn't raise an army in the name of peace. It was contradictory. If you played your cards right though, anyone could rule the land.
"I understand how it sounds. "let's fight for peace!" Yeah, no, not what I'm getting at. Think about it, though - a single daimyo could raise an army powerful enough to crush those whose lands make up his borders. Instead of fight, they form an alliances, letting the daimyo keep all their land, but under a single banner. That army has now exponentially grown, and has already become a force to reckon with, and the cycle would just continue."
That was a large part of his plan, if he were to follow his dream. Occupy a territory, raise an army, and negotiate peace, surrender, or an alliance with the neighboring daimyo.

It only made sense to Takehiro. Even if men were loyal, there was no doubt at least an itch in the back of their mind that said "I want to lead." It didn't even need to be an entire faction, just a small unit of men, or an entire company. The mercenary himself had bigger dreams than both of those, however; dreams as ambitious of those of the Oda or Takeda. Though, he had not the means to pursue them.
"I feel like I could protect people. And even if I can't now, I can only get stronger from here. And, let's say I just get tired of fighting for coin - I don't agree with the ideals of any of the current daimyo, so would it not make sense to become one myself? Lead an army whose single goal is to put an end to the warfare?"

Takehiro cocked a brow, turning to face the girl again. That "true color" remark got his attention a little bit. "What, you got white hair or something?" His first logical guess, since he'd known Haji and Hideyasu. They were the first people he'd ever really met who had different hair colors that were natural. This girl and her pink hair, got his attention, sure, but the fact it wasn't natural meant it wasn't as big of a deal.
"I know a couple guys who do, too. Nothing too special about it, I'd say." He shrugged. What, were they more in tune with the spirits, or something like that? That what it was? Made sense. At the same time, though, it kind of didn't.

Coupling Takehiro's force behind his jump and the fact Ujiyasu had to bring his weapon around in a full circle to strike the mercenary, he would be able to dodge the attack with little effort. Tucking into a roll, Takehiro returned to his feet, readying his weapon and quickly putting some heat onto the bounty. He would thrust his spear toward him several times, aiming for his chest and stomach, looking to deal minimal damage with stabs, but keep him on the defensive.

He really did not dislike the Takeda. Yukimura was a good person, and this guy was as well. If only he fought for the same thing they did, maybe he would find himself aligned with them. But alas, it was not so likely.

Takehiro would follow Yukimura into the building, taking a seat happily, as the samurai gestured toward it. He wasn't about to complain, not when he was being treated to a free night. After giving for so long, it felt kind of nice to have someone perform a small act of kindness in his favor, for once. Even if the one doing it was someone Takehiro barely knew.
"I appreciate the hospitality, Yukimura." He dropped the honorific, though the respect with which he spoke the name was quite obvious. "It's not every day you meet a kind samurai on these roads."

The man pulled out some wine, and it was a gesture Takehiro did not dislike, that much was certain. Any wine was good wine, unless it was bad wine, but the wine from this region was generally pretty good. "And thank you for the drink, friend!" Takehiro heartily downed a good portion of the drink before handing it back to his new companion, clearly satisfied.
"I must say, you Takeda fellows sure know how to be friendly. If I had to pick a side, no doubt about it so far, 'tis likely I'd pick yours." But alas, it did not come to that.

Takehiro laughed as the man's blade fell into the sand. He clearly didn't know who he was up against, and how much of a disadvantage that would put him at, so he figured it'd only be fair to warn him. "I recommend you put that blade back in your hands, kid." He cracked his knuckles and slowly walked toward his opponent.
Every little gesture the boy would make, Takehiro would watch. Every little movement. And, once he was close enough, he would send a quick jab at the boy's throat. Pace yourself, pace your opponent, observe their speed. That was what Takehiro told himself.

He stepped back, swinging his spear in a wide arc overhead, looking to slam it into one of the creatures' sides, and then continue pushing, so that he get smack them both down to the ground. If successful, he'd jab his spear forward, clean through their necks.

Cursing under his breath, Takehiro rolled to the side as the katanas came down. He attempted to avoid getting impaled, 'cuz he liked living. If out of the way, he would put his hands on the ground behind his head and kick his legs upward, striking the guys' chins and flipping back to his feet. If successful, he would charge the guys and sent his fist toward their necks!

In two quick motions, Takehiro would whirl his spear in two circles, looking to cleave both of the downed zombie's heads off. Whether or not he succeeded, he would charge the nearest two zombies, sending explosive punches toward their faces.
