Once in a while, even the hardest working men in the land would favor a break, of sorts. Especially Takehiro, who'd spent the past few weeks doing nothing but claiming bounties and rebuilding villages. So, for him, it was amazingly nice to be able to just sit down and relax, and just enjoy what was going on around him. If it weren't for times like these, he was likely to implode.
It was a pretty cool afternoon in a small village between the territory of the Tokugawa and the Hojo. Many a people were gathered at the center of the village for what seemed to be a special occasion. A stage of sorts was erected, with men in masks seeming to prepare for a performance. Takehiro was certainly unsure of what it was to be like, but entertainment never hurt anyone. It could prove to be quite the spectacle!

Kurai Tenshei I love the dirty tricks and twisted games you play on me. She wasn't sure what it was about settings like this that drew her in and warranted her attention in the fashion that they did. But whatever it was, it was enough to send a chill down her spine as she weaved her way through the mass of bodies that had gathered here, ready to watch a little show and have a little fun. Alcohol being sloshed around as if it were nothing, laughing and joking among friends. Women drawing attention to themselves with every bat of their eyes, wanting men to pay just the right price for a little alone time.
It was hypnotic to the young woman, and yet more than that, it was exciting and left her frothing at the mouth with the limitless possibilities that it had to offer. So many people who she could potentially lure away and have her way with. So many who held things that she herself did not, things that she could steal and make her own. Well, lets just say that she was absolutely giddy with delight.
The somewhat traditional attire she wore remaining in tact for the time being, even though she wore pants and a much more flattering top underneath. Her Mother would be proud, at least until she realized that the only reason that Kurai was wearing something so traditional was to fit in. It was easier to fool people into thinking she was normal when she dressed like them, when she hid the weapons and put on that sickly sweet smile that so many had fallen for in the past.
Her little arms folded casually in front of her, she held the appearance of a normal woman, save for the color of her hair which always brought her to stand out more than any other woman around. Slowly, she would bypass those around her, working her way through the crowd in order to get a better look at the stage which had been erected. A bashful little bow of her head each time she bumped into somebody, only helping to further throw them off her true nature.

The mercenary found himself drawn further and further into the crowd, the longer the wait had been. He didn't look it, but he was likely far more interested in the goings-on of the little place than anyone who lived there, probably because he didn't live here. He moved closer to the stage, a grin drawing much more apparent on his face as he gazed upon it. He'd never seen a play before, so it could be very entertaining.
A few minutes of gazing were interrupted by a small woman who seemed to be making her way through the crowd as well. Normally, Takehiro would have paid her no mind, but there was one thing about her that was hard to ignore, and that was her hair. The woman's locks were pink, which wasn't exactly something anyone was used to. So, his gaze would be drawn to her, only subtly. At first, it was just a passing glance, though, as she drew nearer, the attention he paid her became more apparent.
"Wig or flowers?" he would ask once she was within earshot. Honest question. For all he knew, she could have been one of the actors.

Kurai Tenshei I love the dirty tricks and twisted games you play on me. It wasn't long before a voice interrupted her thoughts, blue eyes shifting toward a male who was in turn looking at her...or more to the point, her hair. A single brow arching, fighting not to let the demon show as she felt a tinge of disgust at the very idea of a wig. Did her hair look fake? Hardly! It was beautiful and if he could not see that then....
She smiled, forcing away the raging thoughts of anger and resentment as she turned to face him and offered a soft, somewhat nervous laugh. Her hand lifting upward, she captured a stray lock of hair between her delicate fingers and brought it around to examine it carefully. "Flowers. A gift from a friend." A lie, but one she delivered with absolute flawlessness.
The alchemist was a servant, just like everyone else who served her father, and nothing more. That, however, was not what anyone wanted to hear and the last thing she wanted to say. It would lead to questions of her family, of her Father and it would likely ruin her night entirely if some shred of her reputation had spread this far. "I was told it is very fitting." She released the lock of hair and returned her arm across her stomach with the other which had yet to move.

A close observation of her hair led him to believe it wasn't a wig, so maybe she wasn't lying. Though, were she offended, he would have been indifferent. Her hair was clearly different than everyone else's here, even given there were some people with silver hair. Those people, however, were said to be spiritually in-tune with the gods or something. So... pink was... odd.
"Well it certainly makes you stand out, that's for sure."
The man offered a slight grin, turning back to look at the stage. His spear would now be propped upon his shoulders, and he rested his forearms upon the handle. He didn't know a thing about who the girl was, just that she was small and "cute," so he didn't know how well it fit. If she was an odd soul, or something, then yeah, it was a great match. But he had no way of knowing that unless he knew who the girl happened to be.
"So, you're not one of the actors, then."

Kurai Tenshei I love the dirty tricks and twisted games you play on me. He bought the lie well enough, or at least she assumed that he did. Her hand softly caressing her arm beneath the sleeve of her kimono as she stood there, watching him and his weapon carefully. She knew what the mark of her silver hair meant to those around her, but then that was part of the reason for hiding it. She did not need them to already have some sort of idea of her soul without her first getting the chance to feel out their own. A thing she fancied herself for having a rather rare talent for doing.
True, it was not always spot on, but it was still close more often than not and it was always enough to give her some idea of what she was up against. Which, lets face it, was all she really needed to know. "My Father has always told me that I was born to stand out." She gave a slightly nervous laugh, ducking her head just a tad...expressing her somewhat shy, gentle nature.
When he mentioned her not being one of the actors, she would shake her head softly, returning her blue eyes to the man as he sat there, eyes fixated upon the stage. "Oh no, I am afraid not. I have never had much skill for acting." She nodded, reaching up as a lock of hair fell down over her face and sweeping it back over her ear. It as a lie,of course...at least the part about not being any good at acting. "I am simply here to enjoy like everyone else." She nodded, shifting softly within her spot to take a half step forward to avoid being run over by a drunken man dragging a laughing, drunken female with him toward one of the tables toward the front of the stage.

She didn't really seem to be doing a lot of standing out right now, so the mercenary just shrugged. All that stood out was her hair, but other than that, she seemed relatively normal. He wasn't gonna harp on her for that, though. Instead, he just smiled. "If you were born to blend in, that'd be a little sad. There'd be nothin' special about you. And with hair like that, blending in must be tough."
Everyone there seemed to be waiting intently for the show to begin. But, it was taking a long time to start, and there seemed to be a lot of technical difficulties coming along the actors' way, so the show was being postponed for a time.
"Figures something like this would be giving people a tough time... shame."

Kurai Tenshei I love the dirty tricks and twisted games you play on me. She would nod, allowing her head to drop just slightly once more as her fingers nervously toyed with a lock of hair that fell across her shoulder. She was not very keen on playing the innocent little woman card, but in a public setting such as this it served its purpose. "This is true. However, I feel that it is the true color of my hair which had always brought about much unwanted attention. Like this, people do not seek to harm me or to possess me quite as much." It was one of the few truths that she spoke. Ever since she could remember, people had either been fearful of her because of her hair and sought to kill her or they had revered her for it and attempted to in some way own her. It was not uncommon, to have silver or white hair, but there were those so steeped in faith and tradition that they would do anything to gain any sort of spiritual edge. Yet all those that had tried had fallen at her feet or those of her Father.
Her eyes once more shifting toward the man at the table, she would take a step forward in order to avoid being rude. She was conversing with him and so to continue doing so from a distance seemed rather crass...far outside of the image she was attempting to portray. "Yes, it is a shame. Though I do hope that they resolve their issues soon. I would very much hate to see the impatient resort to less savory means of entertainment." Actually, she would have loved it. She always enjoyed the men that got bored and thought they could grab and toy with any woman they chose. It gave her a thrill to watch them crumble before her. It gave her enjoyment to watch their pride deflate and their egos shatter. The sadistic demon inside purring with satisfaction as they realized they had attempted to force their touch upon a woman such as herself.

Takehiro cocked a brow, turning to face the girl again. That "true color" remark got his attention a little bit. "What, you got white hair or something?" His first logical guess, since he'd known Haji and Hideyasu. They were the first people he'd ever really met who had different hair colors that were natural. This girl and her pink hair, got his attention, sure, but the fact it wasn't natural meant it wasn't as big of a deal.
"I know a couple guys who do, too. Nothing too special about it, I'd say." He shrugged. What, were they more in tune with the spirits, or something like that? That what it was? Made sense. At the same time, though, it kind of didn't.
