Brandt Solveig
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Height: 6' 7
Weight: 256 lbs.
Eye Color: Pale green
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Appearance:
Brandt is a mammoth sized male, though not
ridiculously so for his lineage. Standing six foot, seven
inches and weighing about two-hundred and fifty-six pounds,
he's certainly a force to be reckoned with. His body id built
of rock solid muscle, but he remains lean enough that he
isn't encumbered by it.
His dark brown hair is usually chopped short too keep out of his eye sight on the battlefield. But the most significant feature would be the fact that nearly eighty percent of his body is covered by an assortment of scars. Brandt is also rarely seen outside of his battle attire, always remaining geared out of precaution.
Personality:
Brandt is a man of little words. Not because he doesn't like
to talk to people, or because he's shy. His native tongue is
western, and his understanding of the Asian language is still
developing. Also a hard life had led to his vocal chords to
be slightly damaged. He can still communicate, but his voice
is deep, rough and his accent doesn't help the situation
either.
If you manage to find him your companion on the battlefield,
you will know that you have a true warrior at your side. And
his enemies will feel his wrath. In battle he is ferocious
and relentless. Brandt is confident in his war-forged skill
set. And he has the mental strength to keep his head in the
game even when the odds are stacked against him.
Battle is also one of the easiest ways to befriend him. The
man respects strength and the art of war, thus feels he can
only truly know someone from within the depths of a show of
force. Once you've proven yourself to him, he is extremely
loyal and trustworthy with even the deadliest of secrets.
History:
{Sword..of..The House of Strength}
Originating from the house of Solveig, Brandt grew up in a harsh environment in the depths of Greenland. Having been born into a warrior clan with lineage tracing back toward the earliest days of the Viking Age, the child was battle hardened starting the day that he could properly walk.
By the age of ten the boy was a fierce warrior, dedicating his day in and out to fighting. And by the age of fourteen he was at the front lines with his brothers in arms, maiming and killing. Even though he was born into a violent society, his conscious had never truly faded.
Often horrible memories from his early childhood came back to haunt him. Especially when it came to some of the atrocities war had shown him. Such as the fact that war claims lives, even those not involved directly with the conflict.
Brandt's experiences Over the years had forged a top tiered warrior, who's potential had only just begun to burst fourth. He had quickly gained infamy for his ability to wage war. Some would simply refer to him as 'The Cadaverer', whom wield a great broadsword so large it could cleave through ten men in a single swipe.
However even the greatest of warriors must learn defeat. The night of his eighteenth birthday was also the night Brandt chose to make his stand. And he stood before the father of house Solveig himself. His own father to be exact.
The end of a celebratory feast had brought Brandt's father, Frey, to his resting quarters only to find hid son waiting for him. The night before had finally caused the young male to snap. The clan had raided a village and laid waste to the whole population. Brandt had witnessed his father slaughter a group of twelve children and their caretaker with a sadistic smile on his face.
It was the first time he had witnessed his father actually commit acts such as that. And even to someone such as him, whom had been desensitized to gore and violence since he was a toddler, it was too much for him to handle.
"I wondered when it would come to this.. My own son here to kill me and take over.. You don't have the stones, boy!"
His fathers words were spoken as the man glanced about his belongings. His brow would distort with anger as he came to the realization that his weapons were removed.
"Looking for.. this?"
Brandt continued to stare toward his father as his left hand grasped a large one handed war-hammer with an axe head on the opposing side. His father's pride and joy. With a swift heave the boy would send the weapon toward his father. The axe head splintered the wooden floor, lodging itself at Frey's feet.
As his father bent down to grasp at his weapon, Brandt would lift his own up over his head, grasping at the handle of his great sword and lifting it up and out of its sheath. Overhead the heavy blade would lift, dropping rapidly as gravity took hold.
Frey's reaction to danger only briefly delayed the inevitable, causing Brandt's blade to sever his right arm at mid forearm. His father screamed in agony before receiving and kick to the left side of his head and dropping him to the ground.
Brandt would then lift the blade up vertical. Giving his father one last glance before thrusting the blade forward, with his boot upon the edge as it dropped to sever his father at the waist as he lay upon the floor. The element of surprise had served his purpose, otherwise he would not have been so sure how that would have turned out.
Brandt knew he didn't have time to dwell upon what had just happened. He was to leave this place as quickly as he could. As he took to the exit, his sword swaying behind him as it rest upon his shoulder, his ears picked up the shuffling of feet.
Throwing his right shoulder up and then adjusting to thrust, Brandt would smash his sword through the door. It plunged right through the first guy and then through the second. They didn't even have time to scream.
Shifting the sword as he ran to let the corpses slide off, the young viking rushed fore the longboats. Most of the men were drunk from mead after the celebration, so getting a hold of one wasn't challenging. Onward he would sail..
Brandt would row south east, resting briefly in Iceland before heading to Ireland. After a short while it was on to the UK and so fourth. As the years passed he grew more battle hardened, having worked as a mercenary to feed himself and supply other basic needs. However the thrill of battle would ultimately lead him toward the raging east. As whispers of great conflict arose..

Primary
| Item Name: Amakusa Blade of Crushing Materials: Steel (2) Gunpowder (1) Stats: +5 Str Description: Two-hand. This incredibly large blade was forged by Takehiro's best smithy as a gift to Brandt, as he would begin training with the Daimyo. It is made of powerful tempered steel, and reinforced so that it could stand up to devastating blows from Takehiro himself. The blade itself is taller than the Nord, yet its size does not prove unwieldy, as it was designed with balance for the large man in mind. The edge of the blade is incredibly sharp, and it quickly forms outward to the flats of the blade so it may crush all it cannot pierce. There are also capsules along the back of the blade that store gunpowder. Power: Once per post, the wielder can turn the handle of the giant sword and ignite gunpowder capsules located on the back of it. This serves to give the wielder's attack a powerful burst of speed, as well as power from the momentum gained from firing off the capsules. The explosives can also be used when striking with the back of the blade, making the strike explosive.

Description: A massive, thick shield which is almost as tall as him. The other edges of the shields framework was sharpened as a blade would be. The shape almost that of a large crystal, both the top and bottom coming to a point. Two spikes rested above one near the top on the front of the shield, and near the bottom a bladed hook extended out. While it has handles to be used like a regular shield, Brandt normally has it strapped to his back. Brackets inset along with a slot cut near the top to allow him to rest his sword within it.
Power: Once per post, the user may activate the gunpower in the shield to act almost as a modern day claymore would act. The gunpower would explode sending a scattershot of metal balls in an outward cone whichever direction the front of the shield is facing. It can also be used to boost the user forward to add speed or momentum to an attack and to jump higher. Power Cost: ¥1,000 Total Item Cost: ¥2,220 |

Gauntlets | Reaper's Cross-Bow Gauntlet: A sturdy gauntlet made of ribbed steel layers, with iron braces inside for added support. Attached to the gauntlet itself is a repeating crossbow, which takes specially made wooden cartridges that hold 20 eight-inch barbed bolts. Through a mechanical switch, Brandt can control whether he shoots one bolt rapidly, or a burst of 5 with reduced accuracy. He would use the gunpowder to create some explosive-tipped bolts as well, though due to bring slightly thicker all around, he would only fit 10 in a cartridge. +9 Con
Power: Upon activation of the gloves power, Brandt would be able to magnitize metal objects. He can use it for both defensive and offensive purposes, to either deflect or redirect attacks, or to disarm opponents on the battlefield. It would also give him the ability to release objects at high speeds, creating something similar to a rail-gun effect.
