The power I seek, aye? Guess we shall see..
Brandt would stare toward the two other men rather blankly. He did not give them any words simply a nod from his head. The giant couldn't help but notice the massive swords strapped to one of the man's back. Brandt couldn't help but feel like he needed a bigger sword now.
Brandt would listen to the one named Haji as he spoke, referring to the depths of the water temple. The northlander could feel something as well, however he would not let it deter him from entering. The promise of strength was a pull he could not tear himself away from.
"If your fears eat at you, light one.. I shall go first? I cannot see how one who possesses light can be so afraid of the dark.."
The giant would snort slightly after he spoke to Haji and took a few steps forward as those pale green hues locked upon the entrance to the temple.

The similarities were striking, that was for sure. Maybe that had something more to say about these gods in which men worshipped. However it was not up to him to question things of that nature. Instead his attention focused upon the last thing which Yukimora spoke.
"As a warrior by heart, soul and blood.. I shall take you up on that test of might. Tis a shame we met in such a situation. I fear you will underestimate me as weak, having seen me in such a state.."
Brandt would let out a slight sigh. If there was one thing he hated about resting, it was the resting part. The giant knew he was losing valuable training time. A battle with someone like Yukimora could have proven to be a useful experience.
"I have a feeling this will be one of mqny meetings. The gods did not put you here for no reason.."

Yukimora.. I will remember that name..
It seemed to that this stranger had interests of his own, having posed a question about his own gods. It would take a few moments before Brandt figured out exactly how to translate his knowledge into japanese.
"Well, the highest group within the pantheon would be the Æser, a group of gods which exists of The Allfather Odin, the god of war.. His wife, the goddess Frigg. Thor, the god of thunder and strength. Baldr, the god of Light and Purity. And Tyr, whom some believe to be the actual father of the gods.."
Brandt himself would finish his skewer, and toss aside the stick. He didn't feel like going too much into depth. It wasn't as if he was trying to convert the man to paganism. He would stretch slightly, wincing at the realization he was just recovering from injuries.

Brandt's arrows would miss, and the giant's blade would fly over his opponent's head. However the giant would not catch sight of the man's next attack, for the giant would have continued swinging his sword around. Lucky for the giant, the projectiles would be deflected by that large shield on his back as he spun.
The giant had planned to keep spinning the sword in a 360, but as he had rotated fully back around he noted that Shou was no longer there. Those pale green hues would scan the area just in time to see Shou reappear. Brandt knew he had to clear the distance before his opponent realized what happened. Hunching forward and bracing himself, the giant would activate his shields special ability.
A massive explosion would rip from the backside and launch the behemoth forward toward Shou as he was attempting to re-arm himself. Swinging his sword around, the giant had become a propeller of destruction. However just as he neared Shou another explosion would sound out, this one coming from the back end of his sword blade, thus adding even more speed and momentum to his whirlwind.

Standing beside Takehiro, the stoic giant would scan the surroundings. Brandt had deemed it necessary to join the Daiymo in the field. While his teacher hoped for a peaceful resolution, one could find trouble easily out on the battlefield. He stood at the ready, arms resting at either side of his zanbato as he patiently awaited the meet.
Whatever happens, it is the will of the gods.. I shall keep close to Takehiro. I will prove to him my worth on the battlefield.

Heavy footsteps would signify that the giant was not far behind the Demon of Totomi. Thus far the man had found himself around Takehiro a lot in recent times. Of course it made sense, Brandt was after all learning from him.
His attention jumped to the skys though as he soon heard someone's screams from above. Brandt would watch as another flew in to catch him with wings of light. It seemed they knew Takehiro. They also seemed to be here for the same thing.
"What legends await, my friend?"

Thus far the skirmish was not weighing on Brandt's favor. The tide of battle was pulling against him, but there was no way that he would allow himself to submit to defeat. A volley of arrows were fired toward his small squad of remaining soldiers, and he roared out immediately.
"Shieldwall up! Do not let a single arrow through!"
Pulling his own shield to the center, his fellow soldiers would immediately intertwine their shields to form a dome of protection. As the barrage hit, it was like the continuous thunder of deadly rain. No arrow took a life, though some managed to crack and splinter shields. immediately more commands would sound out from the giant.
"Push forward! Slow, steady and strong!"
Pushing forward first, Brandt would lead his soldiers forward as they moved into another barrage of arrows. The Nord would encourage them to hold strong and continue pushing. Two more volleys would fall before they were close enough, many of the warriors shields littered with whole or broken arrows.
"After their next volley, Split in two! I will take them head on. KEEP THOSE SHIELDS AT YOUR SIDES AND GIVE THEN NO QUARTER!"
As soon as the next rain of arrows finished, every warrior of Brandts would roar out in unison as they split into two seperate groups. They would circle around to take the group at the sides. Brandt would rush forward only to drop his massive shield to the ground to brace it, while the shell side faced the enemy skirmishers. With a thunderous explosion would rip fourth from his shield, scattering metal balls in a large cone in front of him.
Most of the troops that didn't catch the explosion or get torn to bits from the shrapnel, would be quickly overrun at the sides as he shield warriors bashed and slashed away. Eventually the pings and pangs of warfare would settle to the sound of glorious war crys. The giant himself leading the victory cheer himself. It had been a grueling challenge, but his squad had overcome it in the end.

Blessed by the gods, he says? Maybe so.. But I wonder how their gods would fair against my own.. Allfather is one of the mightiest warriors ever to exist..
Brandt had found himself in thought after having heard 'The Raging Inferno's words. He often found himself trying to compare gods and their differences. He could not discount them as a sham, for they clearly had a hand in this land. Brandt just hoped that some day Odin would cast his might upon the Nord himself.
"I just find myself curious of your customs. I still have much to learn.. My people don't generally branch out from what we know.. Are weather is harsh ans the soil barely nourishing. Tis why we fight amongst ourselves, killing our young and old alike.. Just to survive."
The giant would finish his words by taking a large bite from the skewer his savior had prepared. Brandt certainly had ambitions of his own that he hoped to fulfill later on upon his return home. For now however, the Northlander had to become much stronger.
"I look to put a stop to it some day.. I see no reason why we cannot turn our attention toward learning from others and evolving with the rest of the world."

Brandt seemed to knock his opponent away with the sword, for he had received no incoming attack afterwards. And now it would seem to be Brandt's turn to take to the offensive. His gauntlet hand would lift and he would release a burst of five, eight inch barbed bolts from mounted crossbow.
The small cone of arrows were more or less used as a distraction to let him clear the distance and get close enough to attack. As soon as he had fired, the giant rushed forward through the dissipating darkness and toward Shou like a beast from the depths.
As he approached he would watch his opponents movements to the best of his ability and judge how to attack from there. If the male jumped moved backwards Brandt would rush in thrusting his sword. If he side stepped either way, the giant would rotate to match, swinging widely with quite the range behind his attacks.
Regardless of the outcome, this was sure to be an interesting spar.

Such a horrible sight to see.. Such a shame to know I once took part in these kinds of raids..
Those pale green eyes scanned about the village he was approaching. He had seen bellows of black smoke rising on the horizon and it had piqued the giant's curiosity. It seemed he had stumbled upon the remnants of some kind of attack. Smouldering remains of houses and other objects scattered around, dead livestock on top of it all.
The Nord could not simply pass by without lending a hand, his conscious wouldn't allow it. Approaching the first person he could find, the northlander inquired about what had happened. As he had expected, they were sneak attacked by a group of bandits. Leaving with his apologies, he would move on toward the center of the village.
His eyes would set upon one house, the remains of a family huddled near the ashe of their lost house. It seemed the attack had happened at least a day ago and they were still recovering. A lot of the debris was removed already and it seemed that they had begun to rebuild already. However it moved slow, as it was just a elderly man and his teenage son. Brandt would approach them with a solemn look upon his face.
"Can I assist you? I will gladly lend a hand.. This is probably tough for your family."
At first the man seemed shocked by hid appearance and approached. However he quickly accepted the help of such a sturdy man. While Brandt hadn't specialized in carpentry, he had often helped to make repairs around his old village in the north. Grabbing some extra tools, he would begin to help them finish the work.
Four moons would pass before Brandt would nail in the final wall section. The home had been rebuilt to it's former glory, if that was what you could call it. The peasants thanked him greatly for what he had done and had even offered him some coin as a token of their appreciation. However Brandt would decline it and leave.
He would spend another four moons in the village, helping as many as he could. In a way the giant had looked at it as if he was atoning for stuff like this that he had took part in. However it was time to move on, he was sure that Takehiro would be expecting him back for training. The Nord had been gone long enough.

"Allfather wills it. I will do my best.. I do not quite have the words to describe such a man. He surprised me like no other.."
Brandt would once again allow himself to ponder the day he had. What luck the gods had shown him this day. Brqndt would be well on the path toward a legendary warrior underneath the tutelage of one such as the Demon of Totomi.
"I am interested.. How did you end up meeting Takehiro?"
Brandt was tired, but he still had it in him to conversant for a short bit. The foreigner was curious to learn as much as he could about his new setting and the people that he would be learning from.

Brandt would have seen him throw the blade, he would note it not thrown directly toward him, thus Brandt figured it had to be a ploy. However, he planned to screw his plan up a bit. Brandts hands still grasped the handle of his blade, and the giant would activate the power of his gauntlet, his sword directing toward the one thrown.
This would cause Brandt's own sword to become a conduit for metal. Thus it was doubtful Shou's blade would return to him, instead stuck against the flat side of Brandt's own sword.
It was then he would hear the sound of something landing upon the ground. Brandt's vision would be shrouded in darkness before he even realized it. He almost panicked, but instead kept his head together. The nord still had ears and he could hear his opponent begin to moved.
The giant would kick off the ground, shuffling backwards as he rotated his Zanbato in the air and dropped it down in front of him, the backside facing forward. While he could not see, the giant could guess his opponent would come head on after such a dirty tactic. The viking's sword tip would sink a few inches into the earth before he would twist the handle.
The giant did not realized his opponent had dropped into a slide, but it really wouldn't matter regardless. An explosion would rip outward from the back side of Brandt's sword as Shou was sliding directly into it. Shou's sword would also be blasted away as well.

Brandt would not first answer eith words, instead grasping the handle of his Zanbato, and pulling it deftly from the brackets in his shield, to rest it upon his right shoulder. Pale green hues stared with a determination unlike any other.
"Then let us enjoy the symphony of steel together.."
The giant would then begin to make his way toward Shou. His pace was as if he had no rush to get this over with. He would stop around ten feet away from his new sparring partner. The man would be in range for strike if he wished, however he would extend the blade in front of him with both hands and wait to strike.
"I hope you to not fall as easily as the trees.."

Brandt's head certainly felt the force of the headbutt met straight on. The gash on his forehead letting lose more of that crimson life blood. But the look of pain wouldn't cross upon the Nord's face. Instead there was something of a sadistic smile. He was thoroughly enjoying this.
Brandt's knee wouldn't land as he wished, and instead he would feel a sharp strike to his ribcage. A grunt would escape his lips, and Brandt would allow his right hand to release its hold upon his own sword, the tip sinking into the earth behind him. His right hand dropped, and that was when he would activate the power of his glove.
Kenji would feel an incredible pull as Brandt would magnetized the blade of his nodachi to his glove. Brandt's grip with his right hand would only tighten upon Kenji's throat as he would flex and aim to literally toss the little man into the sky and separate him from his weapon.
If all went well, the nodachti would drop to the ground and Brandt would grasp the handle of his sword to swing it up and over, aimed to bat Kenji out of the sky with the flat of his massive sword.

Brandt would snort heavily as the last three coward away, dropping their crates and running off to live another day. Brandt did not feel the need to chase them down, after all that would leave the merchant unattended. He was lucky that man hadn't been killed in the skirmish as it was.
"Aye, that is was.. I am sorry if anything was stolen or damaged.. I did not expect the ambush. Forgive me."
The Nord would finish his sentence as he walked past all the men bleeding out on the ground, screaming in agony had they not bled out already. The giant would scan the ground as he passed by and begin recovering all the crates which had been removed from the cart. As he worked, his voice would sound out.
"If any of you rabble survive, let it be known.. Brandt Solvieg, The Sword of The House of Strength, will no longer stand for your actions against Totomi, or any region in Japan!"
Maybe it was just the adrenaline passing it's course, but the giant could not have helped himself. These bandits reminded him too much of home and the Nord had a new goal in mind. The northlander would take it into his own hands. Bandits of the land that did not know of him yet, would surly hear of the predator stalking them.

"Ahh, I see. I still have much to learn of your land. Of what I have seen, your land is far more fertile then where I come from.. Why do you not farm?"
Brandt would not second guess the man's story. After all, he did not know him and had no reason to be suspicious. The man was clearly kind enough to rescue him, when many others might have continued passing by. It seemed there were many kind people in this land. Far more then where he hailed from.
"I was actually just setting up to prepare the deer. I'm staying close by for the time being.. I guess I just got too comfortable."
Brandt hoped the wounds were truly superficial. The giant could not allow this to set him back with Takehiro's training. Brandt had found a new drive to push his power and skill to new heights, he did not have time for healing. The man before him though, threw off a similar aura. There was something mystical about him. He couldn't help but think back to his fading visions.
"How is it that you wield fire the way you do?"

Figures.. Takehiro really likes those weights.
The giant was as ready as he would ever be, having rehydrated thanks to Toshi's spheres of water. Some things these people could do seemed amazing sometimes. That was for sure. But now his mind would step upon the new task before him. Thankfully Brandt was not unfamiliar with this kind of thing either.
Takehiro himself had introduced the Nord to his own pair the day they had met. That would help a little bit but he doubted very much that this would be easy to complete. It was hard enough to simply walk with them, let alone climb walls. Guess it was a good thing he was so tall.
Brandt would strap the weights to his ankles as he had previously done, and then he would begin the course. The pace he chose wasn'tthe quickest, but the giant was looking toward the endgame. These weights drained stamina quickly, so he would be careful not to over work himself. After all, he would be carrying over twice his weight.
The first three walls would give the giant the least issues as he could step over them without much of an issue, however as they got taller he realized how much of a pain in the rear it would be. However the Nord would not give up. He would continue until he reached the middle wall.
Brandt knew this would be the hardest part, but he had the determination of the gods. His body was already sore, sweat drenched his clothes. The giant would bend at the knees and jump to grab the top of the wall. His fingers would lose grip however, the pull of the weight tearing the skin of his hands as it happened.
Swearing under his breath, he would attempt it again with injured hands. Roaring out as if in the heat of battle he would grab the wall and strain every muscle in his body as he lifted himself and the weights up. It was slow going and he nearly thought his arms would pull away from his torso. Bit they held as he managed to make it over the top and dropped with a mighty crash upon the earth.
The worst was done, but he still had the last half of the course to finish. The foreigner would revert to his previous tactics as he finished crawling over the last of them and made his way to the end. Dropping to bis knees, the giant would relish the rest as he awaited the next test, tearing cloth from his pants to wrap his torn hands.

"What is an 'Amaratsu'?"
Those pale green eye settled upon the stranger that had arrived to his little practice area. Maybe it had been the sword's wail which had gained attention. His question was an honest one. Brandt was still unsure of the gods people praised here, instead continuing to reply upon Odin's strength.
"They are trees.. Jürö is resilient. They will rise again."
The nord would study the man for a few moments, before he crouched to grab his tan tunic and pull it onto his form. Brandt did not know exactly what had irked the man nearby, but something in his tone told the giant that he was not happy with his actions here.
"The same could not be said about flesh and blood, such as you however.."
The giants sentence stalled briefly as he crouched down a second time and grasped the shield. Heaving it up and onto his shoulders, Brandt would stand once again and shift on his feet to face Shou once again.
"So you will take their place then, will you not?"

The sound of explosions could be heard were anyone near by. Brandt had taken it upon himself to get a little training of his own done this day. The large male had taken it upon himself to trek a short distance into the woods outside of a village he had been staying at temporarily.
What had once been a large thicket of growing saplings had been reduced to broken, crushed and smoldering pieces. The stood there, sweat beading upon his forehead. The sun glinted upon his slick skin, allowing his body to tell the tale of the warrior without words. Anyone who saw could tell he had experienced countless battles.
Brandt's chest would heave as he stared at the sword in his hands, extended in front of him. The back end of the blade was smoking, the back side almost a dull red glow. Takehiro's smithy had certainly crafted a wondrous sword. Glancing off toward his left, the man would eye his newest piece of work. A gigantic shield with similar attributes as the very sword he held.
Dropping his sword into the brackets in the Aegis of Vörn, the giant would grasp the large roped at his waist to tighten it as he caught his breath again. So far the work out was going well, but Brandt still couldn't help but feel disappointed.
"Baah.. I need live movement. This is useless."

"my name is Brandt Solvieg..
The large male would watch the other intently. Whom ever he was, he liked his privacy as much as Brandt. The giant himself usually hid behind such a cloak. Maybe there was more of a reason to it, but the nord did not feel the need to dig.
"Aye. That sword was a gift. It is quite the blade.."
Brandt would think back to his meeting with Takehiro once again, the man who had gifted it to him. Fortune shown upon the viking that day. He had gained an ally and a teacher all in one. The giant was just glad that the Demon of Totomi was not here to witness him in such a dreadful condition.
His mind soon wandered back to the man who saved him as he approached with some of the cooked meat. Reaching out he would take it with a forced nod, before his curiosity piqued again.
"So you just happened to be wandering by? Where are you heading, if I may ask.."

"Aye, you are right.. I will rest."
Brandt would follow behind Takehiro as he led him back to the tavern. He would watch a monetary exchange and then the Daiymo would point toward the nord. He assumed it was Takehiro's way of reserving a place for the giant to stay.
It had been quite the day. Brandt had met the strongest person he had ever encountered and now he would become his disciple, at least for the near future. Regardless, it seemed Brandt had just gained a valuable ally in the Demon of Totomi.
"Again, I thank you. And I look forward to our next battle.. Promise you I will be more of a challenge then."
