Yukimura was skilled, very much so, and I could tell with the finesse with which he wielded his weapon. Pushing me back, I would stumble a bit, straightening up to regain my balance as he went in for his next attack. Crap. My sakabato would come up, attempting to block both of his slashes, planting my feet firmly in the ground. If this was successful, we would be in a deadlock... which probably wasn't the best for me.

I rode as fast as I could on my demon chariot. Even if it caused a lot of eyes to stare, it was a lot faster than any horse I could get in such a hurry. I had received news of a large scale bandit attack on a village and that the village was overrun. What made it worse, is I knew that that was the village that Masahiro had been staying in.
"Damn it, I have to get there faster!"
We had gone off to go our own ways for a while, but never did I expect for him to meet with such a fate. I didn't even know if he was alive. If he was injured, it was because I wasn't there to watch his back. At least I would've been able to get him out of that situation, at least, that's what I was telling myself right now.
Arriving at the village, I leapt off of the chariot as it faded away into nothingness, landing on my feet and taking off into a sprint. The place was a huge mess, and there were a lot of bodies lining the floors, and a lot of injured people. I looked around frantically, not finding any sign of Masahiro anywhere.
"MASAHIRO-SAN! WHERE ARE YOU?!"
I ran deeper in, past everyone. I wanted to help all of them, but could I do anything at all? Right now, I had to find my friend. I had to make sure he was alive.
"You better not die..."

I spoke quietly, but was sure of my words. Yukimura was a dear friend, and anything that caused me to fight against him would surely kill me. This man too was with the Takeda, and I could see that they were full of people who did right.
"We'll only oppose each other if you ever stray from the right path, remember that, Yamabara-san." I turned to look at him. "And if I ever stray, I'd like you to take me out instead."

I watched as Ryunosuke took out the bandits who had jumped down from the second floor. His gunblade was rather handy, and I stared at the contraption. It was something I wasn't used to seeing. I've seen swords or guns, but both in one? Then again, I was flinging around light energy, so anything was possible.
Seeing one bandit trying to run up behind Ryunosuke as he had been paying attention to the bandits he dispatched, I swung my whip sword out and got the guy around the neck. "You shouldn't strike someone from behind..." I said as I started to pull the guy in. As he got nearer, I raised my fist. "It's just rude!" I would slam him down into the ground, knocking him out. Meanwhile, my doppleganger was practically break dancing while dispatching the enemies on the other side. He had a mind of his own, and it was strange.
"Well, it looks like we've nearly cleaned up here, Ichimura-san."

Knew about us two? So Takehiro really did figure it out? I stared at him, wondering why he chose now to bring it all up. Was he just messing with us? He was joking around back in Numa Castle, but Katsumi wasn't around to hear the jokes... and certainly, her sense of humor was practically non-existent.
I looked over to the new girl, Jina, as she spoke. "What are you talking about? Her name's Katsu-...Roshi..." I stopped halfway, correcting myself badly, forgetting about Katsumi's alias. Oh boy. I hoped she wouldn't chastise me about this, I sat in fear wondering if Takehiro would even pick up on that...
In the back, my doppleganger just fell to the floor upon being punched. He just stopped moving like he got knocked out. But it was weird because he couldn't feel any pain.

Toshiie was very skilled, and it was evident in the fact that he had completely laid me out. I coughed a bit, grunting after he had kicked me to the floor. The back of my neck ached, but luckily I had a lot of resistance. Gripping my sword and scrambling to my feet, I looked back at Toshiie.
"You are certainly very skilled, Maeda-sama. I pale in comparison..."
Conjoining my blades and extending their length, my hands tightened around the hilt, as I raised the weapon near my face. I had to show my power. I had to prove that I was worth something. I charged towards Toshiie, raising my weapon and swinging it vertically at him with all the force I could muster.

"Son of a..."
As the water demon pushed me back with its tidal wave and I struggled to find my bearings, my doppleganger would act. Using his whips, he would aim for my hand, wrapping it around my wrist as I held onto the whip tightly, and he would pull me out of the water. Sliding to my feet, he would jump into the air, creating a spear of light energy, tossing it at the monsters. He planned to impale both of them together, while at the same time, I channeled my light into both hands, raising them and attempting to erect a wall on either side of the creatures, bringing my hands in in an attempt to further smash them together.

Being sent back from the monster, I grimaced, looking up at the water monster. This really wasn't happening. What the hell was this? King of the Monsters?
My doppleganger produced both whip swords, while I pulled out one. Together, we swung them at the fire demon, planning on grabbing him and throwing him at the water monster. At the same time, my free hand channeled energy around the water monster, planning on trapping him in a dome, and hopefully sending him flying right back at the fire demon. It was a strain on my spirit, but I had to do it for these people. I vowed to protect them.
"GET THE HELL... OUT OF HERE!" I would shout, mustering every bit of energy that I could.

My eyes widened in shock as the water was ineffective, and the creature sent me flying back into a hut. Grunting and getting to my feet, I was glad my arms took no damage.
"EVERYONE! RETREAT! THIS IS ABOUT TO GET BAD!" I would shout at the top of my lungs, calling my doppleganger out. Together we charged at the fiery beast, blades drawn. He attempted to distract it from the front, aiming for its heart, while I circled around from behind, planning on decapitating it.
The growing water was worrying me, but I had to take this thing out now before it could harm anyone else.

(OOC: I don't know if it's just my tiredness or if I just read that wrong so forgive me if I did something different than intended.)
My eyes widened, it was a friggin' monster on fire! That was the source of the smoke! What the hell?! Did Yukimura do something weird again?!
Not wasting any time, I quickly turned and ran towards the center of the village. I ran to the large pool of water, and sent my light energy down as far as it could go. From there, I would create a dome of light around the water, lifting it and dragging it with me as I ran back towards the monster. With all of the force I could muster, I would throw that water-filled ball of light towards the creature.

Biting my lip, I went out into the cold again, making sure to drape a cloak over me before running out there. I ran around the village, asking people to house some of the less fortunate in their homes for the night, and offered payment for those who were less than cooperative. I would do this, continuing until everyone had a place to stay.
"What is that smoke...?" I looked up at it, gulping. This could not be good. And it really wasn't normal...

I woke up, noticing Katsumi was still asleep. Waking up to actually see her there was nice. I made sure to get out of bed quietly as to not wake her, but I was worried the weather outside would be far too noisy.
Looking outside, it was worse than I thought. The rain was pouring heavily, and it looked like it'd get much worse. I saw people out in the rain who had no cover, and I ran out to them despite the water pouring down. "What are you doing out here? You all need to get to cover, you'll get sick!"
I would shelter whoever I could fit into my home, using my light energy to spread warmth, keeping them out of the room with Katsumi. They needed to stay out of this rain, but the dust in the distance gave me a bad feeling.

Ryunosuke moved forward on time, and began to attack viciously just as I had hoped. Light Me was holding his own, for any strikes did not hinder him whatsoever, as he felt no pain. He struck down any bandits in reach while I rushed in and slashed at the legs of bandits further away from Ryunosuke. I didn't have his handy range as I had no gun, but my melee skills were more than a match for these bandits.
Causing some of them to fall to the ground in pain, I would knock their weapons away before turning around to slash at another bandit who had tried to come up behind me, striking his arm and disarming him before smashing my fist into his face. I turned again, channeling energy into my fist as I sent a wave of light out, smashing more bandits against the wall painfully. So far, so good.

I smiled as Yukimura spoke. We were both number one, huh? This guy was humble, that was for sure. Katsumi was the source of my own strength, my goals, my desires, my motivations. All of it came down to her. I was hopelessly in love with her, a fool in love. Maybe that's what I was. But there was a happiness there that nothing else could compare to. And Yukimura needed to find that too, someday. I was curious though.
"You ought to tell me about the girl you love someday, Sanada-san."
I spoke, getting up slowly and aching. I just pretending to pass out so he'd stop hitting me so much. And just in case Yukimura decided to wail on me again, my hands would come up. "And I surrender, by the way. You won this anyway, I'm no match for a fighter like you, Sanada-san."
I sat near him, rubbing my jaw. If I was a jerk, I'd have used the element of surprise to get the upper hand just now, but I wasn't. Yukimura was a good friend, and the fighter who truly deserved to go on.
"I wish I could be strong like you."

As the villagers aimed to attack my legs, I would jump, channeling light into my feet as I turned to kick the nearest villager. I channeled energy into both of my hands, and would simultaneously fire waves of light at the last two villagers. If this failed, my doppleganger was ready to fire blasts as well.

I would roar (thanks Yukimura), extending my arms to either side and sending a large wave of energy out to every side of me. Hopefully this would incapacitate some of the enemies, and if not, my light doppleganger would appear from within me, rushing to attack the villagers in the same manner that I was, using his own light fists to strike them directly.

One of the villagers began to rush at me, but 'Katsumi' had pushed me out of the way, taking the strike for me. My eyes widened as the blade sliced into her body, and an expression of shock was on my face as I visibly saw the soul leave her body.
"K-K-Kat...sumi..."
I fell to my knees. Even if she was a fake, seeing her die like this in front of me... A feeling of completely helplessness overcame me. This made me realize how easy it was for a life to be taken away just like that. If I ever lost the real Katsumi... the one I swore to protect with my very life...
"No... that isn't happening..."
I stood up to my feet, looking angrily at the one who cut Katsumi down. Even if she wasn't real... even if this was some test of the Gods... I would avenge her.
Charging light energy into my hand, I would shoot it at the villager in front of me. I planned not to kill these people, but to try and cleanse them instead. I would not resort to my blades unless I absolutely had to.

I gritted my teeth, and the hair on the back of my neck began to stand up. I looked around, noticing all of the people of this village were starting to stare at me, those black eyes, devoid of any light, just looking at me. And I began to feel weaker, my body felt heavier... what was going on...? Were these imposters? Or someone else in their bodies?

Yukimura countered me. AGAIN. My fist rocked with pain as he punched my fist. And while it was super cool, it left me open as his other fist came in. Yukimura's fist came in and struck me dead in the jaw, knocking me back onto the ground. Consciousness began to fade. Maybe I was just keeping my eyes shut, I don't know. I just didn't wanna get punched anymore.
"Sanada-san... you are... number one..." I said before I passed out. Totally not ripping off Vegeta.

My thoughts were cut off as Katsumi stopped my hand, my light energy wasn't seeping into her at all, it was being forced away!

I began to back away, ready to grab my weapon. "Who are you? What have you done to her?! What of the people of this village?!"

I took a step back in shock after seeing her eyes. No, not her too! What was going on here?!
"You normally call me Haji-kun... are you okay, Katsumi, truly?" I took a step towards her, placing a hand on her face like I normally would. This time, I was channeling light energy into it, trying to transfer some of that light over to her. Maybe that would clear up those dark eyes, if I could shine some light into her soul...

Yukimura stopped my attack yet again, this time a fist to the jaw. This sent my head into his elbow and knocked me back to the floor. I was really dazed by this point, and getting extremely dizzy. I think my nose was bleeding too. I couldn't tell right now. My hand came up to my head in pain.
"YOU'RE THE GUY THAT POKED AT GIANT BIRDS WITH A SPEAR WHEN YOU HAD A PERFECTLY GOOD WHIP SWORD! And... It's okay Sanada-san, I forgive you. Sorry I tried to send you out the window. Was the adrenaline and... I am sorry."
I would lay on the floor for a moment, catching my breath and rubbing my head. Then, after a short time had passed, I would get up and start swinging at Yukimura's head again. As much as I wanted to just make peace and walk away...

Spotting Katsumi, my spirits lifted, and I approached her. "K-Katsumi-chan... there you are." I looked at her, even though her back was turned to me right now. My heart was pounding, hopefully there wasn't something up with her too. I prayed that she was okay. But someone as astute as her would notice something being up... right?
"Katsumi, I... I'm wondering, are you okay? Have you noticed anything strange going on?"

I would attempt to parry Yukimura's punch, pushing his arm to the side as I attempted to move my body up in order to headbutt him this time. It wouldn't be the smartest move, and the backfire on me would also hurt like a bitch. Because nobody wins in a headbutt.
Regardless, I would still find time to shout during all of this.
"/MY/ BAD LUCK?! COMING FROM THE ONE WHO SET ALL OF THE TRAPS OFF AT NUMA?! MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE THE ONE TO BLACK OUT, YOU'RE AN ABUSIVE FRIEND!!"
