Hidenori is an exceptionally tall and well built man. He is considered quite dashing by many that he meets, and he's well aware of his looks himself. Unlike his brothers, he has long, flowing brown hair which he usually keeps tied up in a ponytail. However, he still has blue eyes, to show that he's not completely skipped over when it comes to the spirit that his generation possesses.
[[Personality]]
Hidenori is extremely carefree and is one of the happiest guys you will ever meet. Very few things exist that can drag this guy down. He is affable and loveable in love, war, and all aspects of life. He doesn't believe that one lives life unless they live it to the fullest, and is rarely seen without his smile. He loves to crack jokes to friend and foe alike, and speaks in a dialect that many might consider disrespectful, especially as he drops the honorific all the time. He also says very nonsensical things a lot of the time.
When he is serious, on very rare occasions, he drops the cheerful act and the beast inside of him awakens. He loves battle, and tries to repress that instinct as much as he can. But when pushed to this state, he will go at his opponent with reckless abandon and cares not for the damage that he deals to them. His blows will become more controlled as he learns to deal with this side of him better.
The cheerfulness is a means of him coping with his mother's death. The anger is what he built up for thinking that he could've prevented it from happening.
[[History]]
Fifteen years ago, Hidenori was living in a small village in Owari with his parents and his two brothers, the younger Hideyasu and the baby Haji. Despite his two younger brothers being born with an unusual hair color and the rest of the village ostracizing them, Hidenori loved both of them very dearly. He and Hideyasu would often play-fight, and he found himself taking care of little Haji a lot of the time. As his father was too busy always trying to suck up to the nobles, his mother was the only one trying to provide for the family, working day in and day out to get a bit of coin or some food. Hidenori would help her the best he could, being the eldest child. Most nights, it simply wasn't enough, but he was content with this small life of his.
Then came that fateful night, when Oda troops burst into his home. They were looking for his father, but he was absent. Seeing his wife, they smirked and figured they'd have a bit of fun with his family instead. Struggling as they might, Hidenori and Hideyasu were subdued by the men, but not before Hidenori was able to hide his brother Haji from sight. The men tried to rape his mother, tearing her clothing off, but when they began to harm her two sons, she fought back violently. Striking the soldiers and becoming too much of a problem for her, they slew her where she stood, stabbing her in the chest and leaving her to bleed all over the floor in front of Hidenori and Hideyasu. Both brothers screamed for their mother, and the Oda troops, having caused far too much commotion and noise than planned decided to book it before anyone else arrived, but wanted to try to silence the two children before they could speak. Out of fear and desperation, the two brothers fled home, running from Owari. Hidenori managed to outrun the troops, but not before being separated from his brother.
Unsure of where to go next, he found himself wandering. Tired, and hungry, he collapsed in a heap, thinking he was to die soon. He later awoke in a bed, and confused and scared, he attempted to leave, but a gentle hand held him back. The man who saved him introduced himself as Uesugi Kenshin, and told Hidenori he was safe now. Hidenori introduced himself and explained his circumstances, but Kenshin never batted an eye. He laid a reassuring hand on Hidenori's shoulder, telling him he would take him in and make him strong. Hidenori spent every day after that training his body and mind to serve the Uesugi. Fifteen years later, he now stands as one of Kenshin's bodyguards, ready and willing to lay his life down for his lord. He has not forgotten his vendetta against the Oda forces, and constantly blames himself for his mother's death. He hopes that Haji and Hideyasu are still alive and well. He now journeys to become stronger to prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again, and to better learn to protect Kenshin.
