"Forget it, Old Man! I refuse to listen to your nonsense anymore!" And with that, Reina was gone. She had nothing but her wineskin, her knapsack with small trinkets and old oil for the blade she had been given just a few short months ago and the Saitō Family Katana.
That was about a week ago. Today, Reina was exploring her local market. The market was teeming with men, insignificant, unpowered men. She didn't care about them. She was really interested in a man she could see from across the road, an expensive looking kimono and a tone of voice that reminded her of the owls she often heard at night. "WHO, WHO, WHO"
The woman she had been staying with for the past week had given her a key to the door, so long as she brought no men into the home. No problem, Reina hated men. She hated the way they smelled, the way they acted, and certainly, they way they [faded to black].
The man was older, probably somewhere in his 40's. She had left her katana at home, but was sure to wear her hidden dagger. Today was Reina's day off, so she decided to rid the world of another bastard of a man.
"WHO COULD POSSIBLY WANT TO BUY THESE SHIT-COLORED ROBES."
The poor merchant was taking in these rude man's words, sweat beading on his brow. As she approached the man, she could feel a pair of eyes watching her.

Watching from around a corner a young blonde with everything about him caught right between that of a lady and a man, smiled at the girl who seemed to have a great fire sparking in her eyes. It was not often that one would get the chance to witness a girl who was clearly ready to lop the limbs, maybe even the head, off of some random jerk in the market. An amused giggle escaped the spies lips as he watched the spectacle unfold. He certainly was not going to cut in and save the brute, but he would not favor her either. He certainly deserved whatever came to him anyways. He was not hiding, despite being out of sight for now. However he was not going to reveal himself. Rather, he hoped that she would sniff him out of his place and call him out on his peeping.

She had come close enough to the man to begin her routine in seducing the man, and then murdering him in private. She just couldn't shake that feeling though that someone was watching her. It was enough that she decided to back off, at least for the moment.
Reina took notice of exactly what the kimono looked like so she would be able to find the man again. He continued yelling at the poor merchant but she had become almost completely disinterested. She knew it, someone was watching her, she didn't know from where though.
As she crept around the market, she didn't see anyone until she was about to quit searching. That was when Reina noticed him. A blonde man who was hidden in the shadows. Without hesitating, Reina strode up to the blonde man who was watching her and continued until her body was almost touching his.
They were in the shadows so she wasn't afraid to get a little dirty. And by a little dirty, I mean bloody. Reina had her hidden blade pulled at the throat of the man, though to anyone else it would look like he was enjoying the time of a prostitute. "Why are you watching me? Be careful of your answer, foreign one." She smiled a maniac and gruesome smile.

He smiled a friendly smile at the girl and tucked a stray lock of gold behind a blood red camelia he wore on his head. This little trick of appearing to be enjoying a prostitute may have been successful....if his appatel was not swayed more towards the feminine side of his androgynous appearance. Now that she was closer it was apparent that he was looking much like a young girl in his sky blue kimono with the pink and red flowers, clearly meant to be worn by a female and thus making it even more difficult to discern his true gender. Even his voice came out sounding like a giggly girl's "Why I was simply enjoying the show!" the he/she chirped "After all, I expected you were about to slice down that man so intent on tormenting someone's business. Bit I suppose I was wrong, dear!" the hint of a high class french woman's dialect was the lacong to his voice and he tilted his head in order to see the girl clearer in the poor lighting.

"It's smart to watch your back, especially when it comes to murder."
She pulled the dagger away but still kept it at the ready. She wasn't ready to die today. Until she go tto know this person better, Reina wouldn't stash her weapon.
"How did you know what I was planning?" Her words slithered off of her tongue like a snake, a hint of spite and surprise clear in her tone. "How long have you been watching me?"
The woman stared at the person in front of her. "Don't play me for a fool either, woman with a man-snake. I've seen your kind before, pervert."

His smile twitched into a frown for just a brief moment at the 'man-snake' commentary. But it was a very brief moment and just that, a twitch. It wasn't an angry frown, nor was it an insulted smile. It was a genuinely sad smile that stayed in his eyes even after the smile returned and brightened his features once again. "Only a few moments. I wasn't here long." he admitted to her "But I knew you were up to something. The way your attention was on that area rather than your own tasks. Your walk. And your eyes, I could feel the fire all the way over here!" he giggled at that last part as though it was some private joke. "Besides, any person giving off an aura like your own probably has some sort of grudge. From the way you talk, i suppose that grudge is for men, right? Surely you wouldn't stand by and let a man like him push people around."

"You seriously think you understand?" Reina had no grudge against men. She had no grudge against people or things that have happened in her past. She didn't really care for all that drama that others constantly got themselves caught up in.
"I kill," she spoke softly, "because it's fun." She didn't really have much to say to the pervert-man. She didn't need (or want) to defend herself with words but just wanted to make sure he wouldn't bother her anymore. Truthfully, if they were in a more secluded place, he would dead. She was a bit irritated that this man had taken the liberty of watching her and now she hoped she didn't have a problem.
"Unfortunately for you, you have become less than fun. If you continue to be so, you may find yourself as my next kill. Understand?"
Reina took a few steps back, smiling widely. People would still think that there were friendly relations between these two people, even though Reina had just threatened to kill him.

He didn't seem taken aback at all by the threat nor by her claims of violence for fun. He just kept that bright smile on, the kind that didn't reach the man's eyes, and nodded carefully, working something out in his mind. "What an interesting thing. To kill for fun. No, I don't pretend to understand. Just a guess." He shrugs lightly. "How interesting that one should find killing fun. Though I suppose people DO make a sport of it, don't they? How intriguing! So what is your name, dear?" he asked as though relations between them truly were dandy and he was meeting a new friend. It wasn't flirtatious but more like a child on the playground. He truly was curious and very interested in this girl, but not in any ways that one might think a man would be. "Oh! I know. Let me guess! Is it Nana? Maybe Rika? Ryu? Rin! It must be Rin! What a fitting name for a girl with such a demeanor, don't you think? Is your name Rin?" He chirped and chattered on a bit about the name and its meanings when different kanji are used before stopping to eagerly await her response.

She took a few steps further back. This strange man was a bit too cheery for her liking. "Reina, Saitō Reina. I am from a family of ruthless killers. So I wouldn't fuck with me unless you plan to fuck me."
And with that, Reina turned and walked away. She was tired of trying to keep up with the crazy emotions of this man. If he followed her, she would continue walking until she could lead him to a quiet place where she could get rid of him. If he kept causing a commotion, she had other plans.
"You would do wise to leave me be."

He shrugged and left his spot in the dark after paying a painter and taking a still wet canvas from him. The painter had painted the girl and himself standing together in the dark, knife and all. He smiled at the handiwork and thanked him for staying so close by and for such a quick, accurate job. He tipped the man and left with the painting of his new 'friend'
