Appearance: Daisuke's facial features are rather effeminate, with no trace of stubble or blemishes, besides a small scar on the right side of his forehead. His hair goes to the top of his neck and seems rough but is actually painstakingly hacked into layers, a process which can take hours at a time. He has an athletic build and is rather fair-skinned.
Personality: At times Daisuke can seem lazy and irresponsible, but like many samurai he has a code of honor: to protect the weak and to cut down injustice whenever it strikes. But like most people he has his quirks, two of them being that he literally can't fight on an empty stomach and that he only uses his sword when there is no other option. He sees the war as a meaningless excuse to spill blood and a period in time when evil men prey upon those caught in the crossfire of the war. Those who have just met him see him as a jerk or an idiot, but those close to him know that even though he can be a real ass at times, he's still a good man.
History: Daisuke comes from a long line of samurai, but is the only one of them to be a ronin. His father, Nobuhiko, was a samurai for the Oda clan, until he was betrayed and left for dead by his friend, a fellow samurai named Kinugawa Retsudo. Nobuhiko left the life of a samurai and opened a dojo teaching his own signature style, Keikai-ken, the Vigilant Sword, which teaches that a sword is a tool that should be used to become a vigilant protector of the people. He taught this style to Daisuke when the latter was 5, and gave Daisuke a choice: Stay and take his fathers place as head of the dojo, or wander Japan as a ronin, using the Keikai-ken to protect the innocent. Either way, Nobuhiko would accept either choice, but Daisuke still chose to become a ronin, which, strangely, his father not only accepted, but approved, as more could be done in ones travels than in a school.
