The Fire Within [Maki|Musou]

[Kuroshi Maki]

As it seem to work for a short while, holding those beasts back. They started spitting those ice spikes again and one would find his mark on the weapon knocking it back. Even the fire was stomped out by them. Without the fire I would be defenseless against those things. But my body was getting warmer and warmer until I could not handle it anymore. I had to go out but how. At this moment I closed my eyes and the kids body would flash by. It was lifeless and burned.

My eyes would open with a roar heard in a long distance. My body changed the skin turned red and glow bright and the eyes started to glow. My hair turning white and glowing as well. I felt a burst of power and I felt the ability to use the fire. Blue fire would surround me and my fist would burn blue with fire. Voice turning dark.

" You will all die! "

Rushing at the monster avoiding those spikes I would slam burning fists into the first.

Blue flame engulfed fists slamming into the nearest ice creature, the creature would shriek in pain and try to slam its tail into Maki, but would melt faster than it could move. The other remaining ice creatures skittering around Maki, circling him like a hawk, six more would leap at him, firing ice spikes at him while literally trying to slam into him and crush him beneath their combined weight.

This new found power was incredible, if I could find a way to improve this I would truly be a god to be recon with. As I saw them surrounding me and jumping up the sky turned dark as they covered the sun. Being crushed wasn't something I would like. I jumped up and found a hole in between the six and was now above them. Being hit by some of the spikes creating some cuts didn't seem to bother me because they melted way before they could do any major damage.

As They hit the ground I would slam down a fist on the ground right after and create a fire ring on the ground hoping to set them all on fire or atleast burn there legs off.

The fire ring that sprang up after Maki slammed his fists onto the ground would melt the legs of the creatures, as they would screech in pain, and they would try to leap at him before their legs were completely melted away, but only a couple would manage to get close before completely melting away like the rest. Maki however, would feel spikes slam into him from behind, as more ice creatures would forgo firing ice spikes at him and just try to overpower him, while others would try to sink their fangs into him and rip him apart, in total, about ten creatures.

As I was able to melt them, I would feel spikes strike me in the back some would stick into the flesh as others would just scratch the back. The pain was there yet I didn't give in. I wasn't going to let the boy die in vain. I would spin around and power up. Fire would spin around me as a aura. Melting the spikes in my back and those that try to leap at me.

" You monsters Awaken the real Monster! "

I would rush forwards at those that were firing from a distance, covering the ground as fast as I could I would end up in the middle of them and would spin around with a sweep of my legs creating a fire whip hoping to strike them all.

Maki's fire whip would manage to strike quite a few of the ice creatures, shrieks of pain ringing out as they melted into puddles, but more would take their place. Some would slash at him with their ice spikes, leaving cuts in his arms, back, and chest, while others would lash out at his legs. Maki would notice however, that the numbers were slowly thinning out. There were still many creatures left, but there was not a giant swarm of them like before.

Does there even come a end to these guys? As my fire whip would take out a nice number it seems more would just pop up. The number did grow smaller but could I keep this up. Spikes would find there makes creating cuts all over my body. I could fee growing weaker but I must not show it to anyone. I promised her I would get back.. and the kid would not have died for nothing!

" Bring it on!! "

I roared as I rushed at a group of them fire circling around me taking away as muchts spikes as I could hoping not to get hit. When I get close I would shoot fire balls with punches and finish it of with a fire sweep. I had to take out larger numbers now or I would be losing this fight.

Maki would find his circle of fire would protect him from a majority of the ice spikes! A few would manage to hit him, but they would not cut too deep, as opposed to the clashes he sustained previously. His sweeping fireball punches would melt many of the ice creatures, shrieks of pain ringing out, and his fire sweep would melt another good portion too, and he would begin to see the numbers thin out considerably! There were still quite a few left though, but it was now at a manageable amount.

He would find a smaller amount of ice creatures dash towards him, some acting as decoys, while the others would move in to strike his legs, their spikes hitting the back of his legs, but not cutting deeply, as his fire simply melted their spikes before any serious damage could be inflicted.

I had to keep up the passe as I would see the numbers fall. A group came at me and they would distract me enough for the others to attack my legs and I could feel the spikes strike flesh but not deep enough for me to lose balance. My body did feel heavier as holding this power cost allot of energy to retain. I just had to keep it up abit longer. Breathing turned heavier as I spin around with a sweep, creating once more a whip of fire.

" Just a little more! "

I would jump away from them abit, before dropping onto the ground I would create two fire whips with a large size slamming them down in front of me trying to take down even more. Even this did take a toll on me as I would drop on a knee trying to catch my breath. Vision did start to blur abit.

Maki's duel wielding fire whips would take out even more of the ice creatures! He would see there were not many left, but the ice creatures could see he was getting tired, and would lash out with their ice spikes, slamming into Maki repeatedly, to knock him to the ground and slam down on him while he was down.

Not being able to react in time I got taken down by the burst of ice spikes.. As the beasts jumped up trying to crush me under their weight I would burst fire from my palms hoping to melt them before they could crush me. I was so close to my limit but I could not stop now.

" WHY DON'T YOU ALL DIE!!! "

As I yelled the fire burst would grow stronger of anger and hate put into it.

Maki's fire burst would successfully blow all the ice creatures that had dogpiled on top of him away and apart, melting them to nothing! There was only one group of ice creatures left, but this was a rather large group, at least twenty. But though they could see Maki was getting tired, they would not attack, instead skirting around him, their jaws snapping at him. They weren't going to try and attack him, not after seeing how many he had taken down. This was Maki's chance to take them out for good!

As I would get back on my feet, my legs where shaking and my left eye would close. Breathing turned heavy. Seeing all those around me it seems they were the last. Something did stop them from attacking and I guess it was fear that was holding them back. I had one shot and one shot only to finish this before this power would fade. Holding it up made me go past my limit and my body would soon collapse.

" Everybody take cover! "

I would yell at the villagers who would hide and I would start charging myself. A roar would leave my lips and a spark would come from my eyes.

" HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

I would put all I had in this last attack before I would probably be unable to stand up on my feet. Fire would raise around me spinning wildly as it became bigger and the heat would rise. The fire would shoot out in a large circle big enough to surround all of those beasts left and would melt them as soon as it would hit. Hoping all would work out.

My body turned back to normal as I fell down face first. I could not move anymore. My vision would blur.

The villagers would do as Maki commanded, and quickly scramble for cover! As Maki charged up for his final attack, the ice creatures would all leap at him simultaneously, their jaws snapping at him... only to be blown away by the large, wild fire tornado! They would melt almost instantly before even reaching the ground, and when the fire died down, and before Maki passed out face first into the snow, he would see a shining light surrounding the boy that had died, an almost God-like shine.

Around him, the temperature seemed to be rising quickly. It was no longer bone chillingly cold, and the snow seemed to stop falling. The blizzard and wind no longer raged and howled, and the villagers, after coming out from hiding, would whisper amongst themselves, but these were whispers of joy. Amidst the whispering, Maki, still face down, would hear a voice speaking directly to his consciousness.

"Well done, Maki. It seems I chose well."

Before I could pass out, I saw the weather change and the villagers coming out of hiding. What I did not understand was, the boy that was killed started to glow and came back to life. My vision started to blur and I could hear a voice speak inside my head about choosing well. Not soon after I would pass out and with that came a end to my struggle.

Although Maki had blacked out, that did not matter, as inside his collective conscious, he would see the God-like shine, before it took on the form of the boy that had died, albeit made of pure light. Even though his body was out cold, his collective conscious would still be able to hear and communicate with the voice that resonated in his mind.

"Do you know who I am Maki? In your world, you may know me as Kagutsuchi, the god of fire. I took on the appearance of this boy when I brought you to this world to test you. I believe you are worthy of my blessing and my power, Maki. Tell me, what would you do with this power? For what purpose do you want this strength?"

[Kuroshi Maki]

When I blacked out, I could still see the kid in front of me. And I could still hear him talk, He was a god of fire? He wanted to know what I would use the power for and that he granted it to me? All this was just to muchts and I had no Idea what was going on at this point but I had to answer but the boy came back to life claiming to be a God of Fire.

" I will use this power to kill those that killed my mother and protect the girl close to my heart. "

I didn't had more reasons at this point, but I would also use it to defend myself but this power would make me grow more into a Demon and with that I would reach my goal. After that I could finally life free again and be myself but for now I can't.

" I will shape into a Demon to take down the Demon's in my life. "

Continuing to remain in the guise of the young boy, Kagutsuchi would look down at Maki, a small smile on his face, somewhat pleased with his answer. Maki did not want his power simply for the sake of being strong or to rend those weaker than him asunder. He wanted the power to kill those that killed his mother, and protect the most important person to him, the girl close to his heart. Although Kagutsuchi could not agree with Maki's first reason, the fact Maki was more than just consumed with revenge, but wanted to protect the person closest to him, was acceptable for the God of Fire.

"Very well then. I shall lend you my power to aid you. You may bend the blue fires I control to your every whim, calling upon them when you see fit."

Maki would feel a raging heat taking a hold of his heart, power now surging through his body. He too had become Kagutsuchi's Chosen. Light began to envelope the Demon warrior, and he would slowly be transported back to his own world. It would seem like one big dream, but the feeling of power would feel very real.

"Perhaps one day, I will call upon you again... Until then, farewell, Demon warrior."
