Post by Yamabara Shou on Mar 3, 2014 16:57:38 GMT -7
(OOC: Changed up the situation making me the courier. As Brandon said it was okay, and it felt oh so right.)
Shou awoke darkness slowly lifting into dazzling light and pain. His legs felt heavy, his arm screamed at him in pain and he could barely see out of his right eye. He was cold, but not naked. Lucky for him, however the armour of the demon he had slowly come to rely on in a fight was elsewhere. As were obviously, his weapons. Shou forced himself to his feet, barely able to stand. One of his legs rattling as the chains around his ankle move with him.
“Well well… look who up. How does it feel you Takeda dog?” A soldier wearing Uesugi colours nonchalantly sat on a chair his feet propped up on a crate. Shou didn’t answer and instead checked on his left arm. He didn’t know much about medicine but he knew enough to be able to tell it was broken. He must have taken a blow to the head as well; the last thing he remembered was being on route to deliver a message.
“Oh I don’t know. How did it feel when you found out Lord Uesugi raped your mother like the dog she is.” Shou spat, literally doing so as he finished notice a little blood as he did. However the words had their intended effect. The double barrel of an insult, against his lord and mother, made the man draw his sword and approach him. There were no bars, as he was chained to the wall and the man quiet happily with a look that could kill came at him.
Against what were probably his orders, the man attacked him. Bring his sword down towards. Shou managed just about to side step the blade, grab the man’s wrist and with his good hand. Before the man could react Shou had him by the hair, and slammed his face into the wall, Shou was shackled to knocking him out cleanly. As quickly as he could Shou searched the man. Finding the keys to the chain, he let himself free before awkwardly stripping the other man and himself and exchanging their clothes. Chaining the guard up, and turning him so his head would be out of sight to anyone else who came into the room Shou, strapped on the guards weapon and put it away.
On unsteady feet, Shou left the building he had been keep in. Cradling his arm in the fold of the guard’s clothes, to hold his broken arm in a position that hurt less. Shou tried his best to make his shaky steps look like those of a soldier who had too much to drink. The ruse worked for a while, and Shou was able to slip past a few of the guard who had been nearby without them noticing who bad a state his was. Reaching another of the small building of the camp, Shou hid behind the wall. Resting his legs by leaning against it. It was hard to walk, let alone pretend to be a drunk. There was no way he was just running away either.
Suddenly a guard came round the corner, turned and looked at him in the face. “You’re no…” The guard started to say, but Shou had already pounced. Much like the guard inside he grabbed the man’s arm and pulled, but he didn’t stop. Shou spun the man and clamped a hand over his mouth before he could call for help. There was no way for him to draw the guard’s sword without letting go of the man and letting him shout. He had to take the man down quick and cleanly. Pushing a leg between the guard’s legs, he brought a knee up hard. The guard screamed wordless in to his hand, only a small murmur escaping. Turning on the spot in the moment of the guards distraction he slammed his head into the wall of the building he had been hiding next to. Still the man didn’t go down, but a second slam finished the job and the guard slumped to the ground.
Shou could hardly stand and move around, but he couldn’t leave the guard there alerting the camp to his escape. The one inside would probably get looked over by mistake, but out here that would not happen. Shou had to move him. Grabbing the knocked out guard by the arm Shou dragged him to the back of the building. Closing his right eye, which was blurring his vision before peaking round the corner. With no one ther Shou pulled the body inside as quickly as he could. The room was full of bed rolls, and Shou quickly pulled the man over to one and laid the sheet atop him, as if he was sleeping.
Heading back outside, Shou continued to do as he had been. Moving from building to building. Tent to tent. Resting where he could, until he felt he could continue to walk. Where guards could be avoided, Shou would do so. Waiting out of sight and letting the move on their way. However when they couldn’t be Shou forced himself back into the ruse of drunkenness. It was working; Shou could see a pen of horses up ahead if he could get to one. He be able to ride away, but how to do so without alerting the nearby guards.
Shou examine the area, his eye making the task much harder than it should have been. But he eventually noticed something that could cause at least one of the guards moving off. Two guards were by the horse, a crate between them and onto of it a bottle of sake. Sneaking closer around the back of some of the nearby tents, Shou picked up a stone from the ground. It took a long time to aim. With the eye he normally didn’t do so, but it was better than the blurred mess the other was in, and he couldn’t afford to miss. With a flick of his wrist and fingers, Shou let the small stone fly, catching the tip of the bottle and causing it to tip over.
Shou heard the curse from where he was hiding, as the bottle fell to the ground and shattered. The guard cursed again, heading off towards one of the buildings away from the Stables. Now alone Shou slowly creep as best he could behind the second guard, drawing the blade before he even got close. Behind the guard, Shou gritted his teeth together hard, as he forced his broken arm to do some work. He was going to hate himself for, but if he didn’t escape he was dead. Shou would clamp his bad hand over the man’s mouth and before the guy could struggle to knock the weakened arm away, bring the blade round and slit the man’s throat. Let the guy, and his broken arm drop. Shou quickly pulled open the crate, struggled to drop the man inside it, put the lid back on, before pushing the crate from where it was over the puddle of blood. Now that no one was near Shou quickly moved to the horse. Pulled himself atop one even though they were unsaddled and rode it away from the camp before the first guard came back and raised the alarm.

Post by Sanada Yukimura on Apr 12, 2014 14:10:52 GMT -7
After hearing of and receiving word that a courier in the Takeda faction had been kidnapped and taken into enemy custody by the Uesugi faction, Lord Shingen had commanded Yukimura to go and break into the Uesugi camp, get back their courier, and escape from the camp without the courier ending up furthered harmed. It sounded simple enough, except that he was only to engage in combat if necessary, and any bodies of guards he ended up having to kill or knocked out had to be hidden. In the long run, it was far easier to knock out two soldiers and steal their uniforms, that way, he could avoid drawing any attention to himself and the courier. Camped on top of a hill overlooking the camp, laying flat on his stomach, Yukimura had staked out the camp for about an hour, to get a sense of the patrol paths the guards he could see took. They weren't exactly predictable, but there was enough of a pattern that Yukimura had an idea of which two soldiers he could knock out without being spotted.
Wasting not a single moment, he would quickly hop to his feet and staying low to the ground, would quickly dart down the hill before taking up a hiding spot behind a fairly large tree. With his black cloak hiding his red armor from view, the shadows felt deeper, and though Yukimura felt, and still did, that Sasuke would've been the better choice for this retrieval mission, there also must've been a good reason why Lord Shingen entrusted Yukimura with this mission. Darting out from behind the tree, he would hide behind a nearby horse stable just as two soldiers passed by. Slowly edging his way around the horse stable, he would ambush the two soldiers, knocking them out quickly, and dragging their bodies to the side, would hide them in a nearby tent, but not before stealing their uniforms and tying them up with rope and gagging them. He'd then don one uniform himself, while storing the other in his makeshift bag fashioned from his cloak. Ducking out of the tent, making sure the kabuto he wore kept his face hidden in shadows, he would make his way through the camp while acting like he was on patrol. Thanks to his disguise, he would cover a large portion of the camp unhindered, and soon enough, he would come upon a tent smaller than the others, with a two soldiers stationed outside it, one on each side of the tent entrance. Moving towards the guards, they would look up at Yukimura, as one would let out a frustrated mixed with relief sigh.
"Finally you got here, you were supposed to relieve us ten minutes ago! Hey, where's Takizawa-san?"
"... He's on his way, he'll be here shortly. Sorry about that..."
"Ehh... Just don't let it happen again. Hey Morimoto-san, you alright? Your voice sounds different, you getting a cold or something?"
"... Maybe. It's why I took so long, I had stopped at the medical tent to get some medicine."
"Huh... Well, at least you can rest somewhat. That courier isn't going anywhere anytime fast, haha!"
Standing outside the tent and acting as a guard as the other two headed off, making their way back towards the middle of the camp, as soon as they had disappeared from view, once he was certain no one was around, Yukimura would duck into the tent, as he would immediately find the courier, who was sleeping restlessly in the corner of the tent, and Yukimura could see why the soldier said the courier wasn't going anywhere fast. He had a broken arm, one swollen eye that inhibited his vision, and he certainly couldn't walk without assistance. After gently rousing the courier, just as he was about to cry out in fear, Yukimura would place one finger to his lips, indicating for the courier to stay quiet, before revealing the Mon of the Takeda he wore underneath the Uesugi armor he had donned. Helping the courier to his feet, Yukimura would hand the spare uniform he had stolen to the courier and instruct him to quickly don it. Once the courier had, throwing some pillows onto the mattress and pulling the covers over, making it appear in the dark, the courier was asleep, after checking his features were hidden by the kabuto, especially the one swollen eye, Yukimura would pull the courier's good arm over his shoulders, and help him out of the tent. Spotting two soldiers on patrol heading towards them, though they hadn't noticed them yet, Yukimura would quickly pretend like he had stumbled out of a nearby tent, helping the courier walk, as the soldiers would spot them and run over.
"Hey, what happened!?"
"... We were ambushed by an enemy soldier trying to get the Takeda courier back just as we were about to head out for guard duty. He knocked me out immediately, and Takizawa-san managed to fight back, but he got beaten up pretty badly. He managed to get away before we came to, but Takizawa-san is in no condition to be guarding anyone, especially with that soldier still around. You two mind taking over our shift, while I help Takizawa-san to the medical tent?"
"Ah yeah, of course. Damn Takeda soldier, sneaking in here and knocking you guys around like a wooden dummy. We'll let Captain Suzuki know later."
As the two guards headed towards the tent housing the supposed still inside courier, Yukimura would begin to head in the direction of the medical tent, only to move in the direction of the camp entrance the moment the guards were out of sight. Moving slowly through the campsite, for the sake of the courier, making sure to stay hidden in the shadows and moving cautiously, because he didn't want to risk getting caught. Though it was agonizingly slow, eventually, Yukimura and the courier managed to get out unnoticed, and once they were far enough from the camp, summoning his demon chariot and helping the courier onto it, would take off back towards Kofu, to get medical attention for the courier as soon as possible.
