Takehiro would cheer at the new treasure chest, but he would open it cautiously. If this place was going to yell at him, how did he know it wasn't out to kill him? But, if it was safe, he would take that loot, put it on if he could, and then rush back to where he came from and proceed along the other path, since this one seemed to be a dead end!

Takehiro would sit in front of the boy, taking a small stool from the side of the building. Something about this kid... he seemed to hate just about everything. He had no desire to fight for anything but strength itself. He lacked motivation. He had no drive. And yet, when he fought, he would not give up. There was something redeemable inside of him.
"So I'm guessing you don't want a chance to grow stronger. You don't want a chance to avoid living a live like this at all, do you? That's a little confusing. Kid like you, you've got potential, and you're wasting away, fighting for your life in some rundown slum?"

Takehiro shrieked like a little girl, though he quickly felt woozy. If this maze was out to get him, it wasn't going to take him like this! He'd pull out one of those magical rice cakes and down that fucker, trying to get rid of the bleeding on his neck as soon as possible.
"DO YOUR WORST, YOU FUCKING WHORE!"
He would charge down the fork, making a left, glaive in his hands!

Takehiro fell to a knee, but would act as quickly as he could, considering their blows felt as if they only tickled. Gripping his glaive tightly, he would swing it in an arc, looking to take their legs out so they were no longer effective! From there, he would impale their heads one after another, tossing the second of the two through the portal, jumping after it, and landing on its stomach for good measure!

Takehiro cursed, his body slamming against the wall. Quickly as he could, he would push off it, taking his glaive in both hands and swinging it in a wide arc, looking to cleave the heads off the crawlers all in one single swing! If he missed any, he would step forward and slash in the opposite direction, for good measure!

Not very long ago, Takehiro had endured his trial with Izanami, and she bestowed upon him some sort of strange power that kept eating away at him. More than that, the things she did to him, the pain he felt, all of it was weighing him down and driving him mad. It was difficult not to think about it. Every life he'd ever taken. Every family he'd torn apart... he remembered them all, and heard their screams every moment of every day since then.
It was a dark night, and the mercenary found himself mindlessly wandering the roads of a large village. His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of loud screams, screams that weren't coming from his imagination. Almost immediately, he turned to them, running to find the source. What he found was a man in the process of trying to rape a woman. Upon seeing Takehiro, however, he stopped, terrified by this dark, red-eyed knight who seemed to have energy seeping off of him. But, the fact that he was even attempting this was enough to set him off.
"You fucking... ANIMAL!"
Tendrils of pure darkness shot out of the ground, wrapping around the man's limbs and lifting him into the air. He would scream in terror, though it was quickly interrupted as Takehiro used those tendrils to rip the man clean in half. The woman, the victim-to-be, screamed as well, running off through the village, waking everyone up to alert them of the monster nearby.

Takehiro cheered, adorning his new equipment and LOVING the new surge of power! He would take up his glaive, putting the ax at his waist, and proceed back down the other path, since this one seemed to be a dead end. He had no idea where the fuck he was going, but he'd keep going as long as he could without trouble, his glaive constantly at the ready!

Takehiro was SUPER excited it worked! He would reach down to pick up the ax the knight dropped, and would slam it down upon its tasset, and then upon each of the greaves. If he was successful, he was sure the knight would be "dead," at which point it would take anything he could off of it and he would turn to loot the chest behind him!
So much WORK!

As Ujiyasu fell back, Takehiro would suddenly get even more fierce. His attacks would continue, as fast as he could manage, mixing up where he would strike. He would try to get as many leg and core strikes as he could, looking to take the guy down from the sheer pain from how many cuts he would face. That, and Hiroshi would still have a huge opening to fire wherever he wanted.

Cursing, one of Takehiro's arms came up, and he tried to block the ax with his gauntlet! If successful, he would ram his fist into the knight's gauntlet several times, before moving up and trying to destroy its shoulders!

Takehiro would jump as the knight froze up, thrusting his spear inside its armor and looking to break it apart from the inside before ripping it off. If he was successful, he would whip the spear in front of him in a wide arc to slice through the gauntlets and make them useless!

Shit, the guy looked like he was in a LOT of pain. That what it felt like to have your knee broken? Takehiro quickly obliged, running up to Shou and decking him in the lower jaw as hard as he could, just to make sure he was out for the count.
If Shou was knocked out from there, Takehiro would rip the sleeves of his kimono off. He would use one to make a sling for Shou, and the other to help bandage his knee, after taking some wood from the nearby trees. He'd give him a splint after he was out, just to make sure he healed okay.
"Really sorry, man... I'll make you some rice cakes later."

Takehiro would pick up the broken blade, hearing the crowd chant and cry for the boy's death. They wanted him to die. They wanted Takehiro to spill his blood. So, he rose the blade above the boy's head and thrust it downward. The broken iron would strike through the sand, right next to the boy's face. Takehiro would take his arm and put it over his shoulder, helping him to his feet. He'd proven his point.
"If any of you want to hop in here and fight me, I'd like to see you chanting for the same thing."
If Maki didn't fight it, Takehiro would help him to safety - after grabbing his money. He would take the boy outside and set him against the wall.

Shou's fighting spirit was admirable, and his strike got Takehiro in the face, though the mercenary just took the pain, utilizing his advantage. It didn't feel entirely right, but he was going to show this man he wouldn't back down, and he would do what was necessary to win, if it meant forcing his opponent into submission.
Takehiro would apply all the force he could and snap Shou's leg at the knee, making his leg basically useless. From there, he would stand and back away, in case Shou felt like throwing some strikes out of anger.
"Think you can keep going after that?"

The boy's headbutt would hit, sending Takehiro's head back a little, but the force behind it wasn't too great, considering he just got his with the full force of a gun in his collarbone. Twice. He stumbled back a little, catching himself. A hand came up to his nose and he rubbed it, making a fake pouty face.
"Come on now.. headbutts? Man."
Takehiro didn't pay much attention as the guy stood to his feet. He would come looking to dish out another strike, but wouldn't get very far. Takehiro's palm would just come up and slap against the kid's head, pushing him to the side.
"I admire your spirit, kid... but you need to calm your shit."

Shou deserved a little more credit than Takehiro gave him for, but not too much more. He would jump and headbutt Takehiro, their faces connecting, but Takehiro's head was harder. And, he used Shou's momentum against him, turning and pulling his leg toward Takehiro's side. When they would land and hit the ground, Shou would be on his back, and Takehiro would already be recovering, his palm slamming into the man's solar plexus to knock the wind out of him and momentarily keep him from fighting back. Then, he would ram one palm into his knee, using the other to push on his heel. The direction of the force would put so much pressure on Shou's knee, it was likely to snap if Takehiro just went a little further. This would put a lot of heat on his opponent, but it was an attack he was willing to use.

Takehiro just continued to taunt him. He needed to realize his faults, because if he made a mistake like this in the future and there was no one around to save him, he would end up getting himself killed. No life was worth just throwing away like that. Unless you were a rapist and a cold-blooded killer, of course, but this was just a boy, and he was likely neither of those.
As the boy approached, Takehiro would step back. He was not an idiot. His hands rose up as Maki charged, and Takehiro would meet the charge as well, ramming his fists forward. If Maki got any of his hits in, he would be met with two explosive fists to the collarbone. Takehiro wasn't holding back.

Takehiro stood to his feet, groaning. He had to fight another one of those knight fuckers? This wasn't going to be very fun, but it looked like he had to. Quickly, he would swing his glaive at the fucker's head, looking to take the helmet clean off. With his swing, the blade would light on fire, and Takehiro's eyes widened. THAT WAS SO FUCKING COOL.
But yes, damage. BREAK ARMOR! BREAK IT!

Shou would grab Takehiro's arm, but given that Takehiro was faster than his opponent, it would mean he would have to turn quickly and overextend his arm, limiting the effectiveness of his reach, as well as where his leg would be effective. Takehiro's free arm would shoot out, blocking the knee by slamming his forearm atop Shou's thigh. From there, he would grab the underside of his opponent's knee, keeping the leg in check with his own. His preoccupied arm would flex, making what was in Shou's hand require a larger grip. Almost immediately after, he would loosen the muscle and rip his arm free before Shou's grip could tighten again, and he would sweep his free leg down to knock Shou's out from under him.
If that all went as planned, Takehiro would still have one of Shou's legs in his grip, which he would sort of use to manhandle his opponent. He would turn the leg so Shou would have to land on his front, then he would drop a knee into the center of Shou's back. From there, he would place one knee on Shou's free leg, while using both arms to tug the leg he held as far back as he could, putting a strain on the body.

Before Shou could roll away, Takehiro would have applied as much crushing force to his ribs as possible, either bruising or fracturing them, along with the dislocated shoulder Shou would now be handling. He would spit the dirt and blossoms out of his mouth, blocking Shou's counter, as it wouldn't have much force to it, given the position he was in.
"No hard feelings, man," he laughed, standing to his feet. He would give Shou next to no time to recover as he rushed the man, always staying on the side with his broken arm, so it would be harder for him to recover. Once within range, Takehiro would send a flurry of quick jab's at Shou's side, to put some pressure on and measure how he would counter.

Given that Takehiro had swatted the blade to the side the same moment he charged, it would do minimal damage to him. The blade cut against his shoulder as he delivered the punch, but it was nothing he couldn't handle. As the blood dripped down his shoulder, his fist would collide with the boy's stomach and, immediately after, he would follow up by bringing his other fist around and slamming it into the boy's cheek, while he seemed preoccupied with just holding his blade out.
