With the Uesugi forces being spared, Mikhael showed some signs of relief, though he was displeased with his lord having suffered a pointless injury. As the group marched onto the Imagawa main camp, he would do all he could to protect Hidenori, irony aside.
"The fates have willed it, my lord. Please, do not strain yourself."
Charging into the fray, Mikhael would be Hidenori's offense, using the power of his boots to intercept any attacks before they came his way. He would serve as a shield, more intent on protecting him than assisting the Oda. All he was concerned with now was making it out of here alive.

Mikhael quickly picked up the bodies of two Imagawa soldiers, in defense of his own life and his Lord's. Before he could do anything, however, Hidenori took an arrow, meant for Mikhael, which surprised the Russian greatly. "My Lord!" He cursed, turning to Yukimura. If the man continued his attack, he'd have an Imagawa body thrown at him. Same with Kenji, should the man continue his assault on the foreigner from the Date forces.

Mikhael's eyes were quickly directed to the man of light charging at him, and he utilized the power of his boots to act. As the being of light came close, Mikhael would see its attacks coming. He would step to its side as it struck, sending a hammer-fist down on its back, and it'd feel like it got hit twice.
"Lord Hidenori, are you sure we've picked the correct side?!"

Mikhael would have already been on the road to Shimotsuke with a group of about twenty men before the messenger approached, and as soon as he saw the frantic look on the man's face, he knew there was some sort of trouble. He needed very little direction once he was told "Shimotsuke village," and hoofed it all the way there, rather quickly. The trip would have takenless than a night, and when they arrived, he saw the village was in complete disarray... as was to be expected.
"My name is Mikhael, I hail from Echigo. I am here to offer my support, and I bring a small unit with me," he spoke to a woman who seemed to be in charge. However, he did not wait to be given orders, as he didn't work well taking orders in the slightest. He would sit at the edge of the village with his men, waiting for the enemy army to approach. They would be stationed along the road in hiding places, to jump out in a surprise attack, Mikhael himself standing at the front of the village and acting as its protector.
He did this a lot back home.

"Lord Hidenori," Mikhael began plainly, taking an Imagawa soldier by the throat. He targeted the man riding by on his horse (Masahiro), and threw the Imagawa soldier at him as he was close by, looking to get him off his horse. If successful, he would stomp on the man's wrist and throat.
"This battle is not ours. We come here with peace for the Imagawa the same day the Oda come to save their land. Surely, even with their size, the Imagawa's drunken state shall work against them." He sighed, shaking his head, ready to parry any blow that came within 10 feet of himself, and lay his life on the line for Lord Hidenori. "There is no fleeing this battle. We must take a side."

Alongside Hidenori would be another giant of a man, who would stand just before him as the men of Date seemed to appear. He made no menacing gestures, but did seem protective of his comrades.
"Seems we were not the only ones with the idea of coming to the Imagawa for assistance..."

As soon as the third trial began, Mikhael watched intently. That Hidenori was the first he saw make it through, and he was thoroughly excited. His enthusiasm may have poured over into Mikhael's own thought process, as he sought to get this over with quickly. He would wait his turn much like everyone else, only he did so anxiously, and eager.
As soon as it was Mikhael's turn, he made a mad dash toward Kanetsugu. Watching everyone else in their run, he memorized where the weight would fall, and he lowered his body just as it came. Crashing into him, the weight caused Mikhael to fall almost face-first to the floor, though he used his powerful legs to keep himself upright, moving forward but low. Seconds alone felt like hours under this incredible weight, and he was sweating bullets in no time. Though, he could not fail. He would not let himself fail here, not when he'd come so far already.
As the second wave came, Mikhael was pushed back, but not by much. Here, his size helped him, and he pushed through the wave almost easily, continuing his charge. The third wave came in not long after, however, and rammed into his sides, and he could not help but fall to the ground. It was as though he was being crushed, and even a man as large as himself would find difficulty wading through this without effort.
"/D... damn it...!/"
With a roar, he forced himself to his feet, feeling every muscle cry out for relief as he did. He was so close now, he couldn't let himself fall here. Using all of the strength he could muster, Mikhael would force himself past the "finish," and in doing so, he wanted to fall to the floor and rest. He chose to show no weakness, however, and forced himself into a standing position. His body ached uncontrollably and he was sweating like a pig, but he did it. He completed all of the trials so far.

The thought of "facing your demons" was something that made Mikhael raise an eyebrow. He wasn't entirely sure of the capabilities of the officers in this army, and yet, he saw another version of himself manifesting before his very eyes. He was admittedly taken aback, though he did not show it, not even for a second. The "him" he was looking at, it was not Mikhael of Echigo. This doppelganger was Mikhael Mihaelov, a lingering memory of the family Mikhael loved and left behind. And that almost made him sick.
"So this is what the Uesugi are capable of..." he began, sighing as he held his fists up in front of himself. The other him mirrored his movements, though he did so with a fervor he had not seen or felt in a long time. They charged each other, fists being sent forward with equal speed and strength, knuckles colliding with each other so that neither giant gained an advantage over each other. Betraying Mikhael's own demeanor, the shadow of himself spoke tauntingly. "/You are a cur! You betrayed your family like a dog! The Uesugi only accept you out of pity!/"
He halted for a moment from the sting of those words, just long enough for his shadow to get a powerful punch in on his cheek, causing him to stumble back just a little. His eyes seemed filled with anger, however, as that was all he needed to come to the realization that the man before him was not him. Never would he speak that way, and he knew himself and that he was no dog. He did what he did out of goodwill and kindness, not because he sought to fight family for the hell of it.
With a roar of might unmatched by any man or woman here, he charged his shadow, striking it in the trachea and slamming it into the floor. He sat atop it, pinning it, and unleashed a barrage of punches for its face over and over. "/Do not speak as if you are me! You know nothing of my pain, regardless of where you come from! If you were truly a phantasm of my own, you would know that my demons have drowned long ago!/"[/b] He shouted, almost betraying his own typical demeanor. And, with a single, final, heavy strike, he slammed both fists on top of the shadow and it dissipated beneath him.
Grunting, Mikhael stood to his feet. Now that he knew what the Uesugi were capable of, he held a sort of fear in his heart. Though, he felt like any who fell to their "demons" were not worthy warriors in the slightest. He'd spent years conquering his own, and he was not going back on that progress in a single moment.

[OoC: Doing all of 'em together, so bear with me here.]
As Lord Kenshin finished speaking, Mikhael stood to his feet in preparation. He took a spear in his hands, deciding it was better to block thrown weapons with one of those than his fists. His eyes fell to the man, Hidenori, as he comically proceeded through the trial, and he watched as the numbers dwindled like nothing. So few were capable of cutting through the trial it made Mikhael doubt himself for a moment, but he knew that he was more that competent enough.
Taking his stance, Mikhael would be one of the last to proceed, after many who failed before himself. Given he was so large and heavy, dodging would not be his ideal tactic. Instead, he held his spear firmly in his hands, ready for the attacks to come.
As the first blade flew through the air, Mikhael struck it down with the spear and it cut through the snow just before his feet. The blades whipped swiftly through the air, but he was always quick enough to strike them down and prevent them from actually reaching him. They began to grow in number and speed, as was expected, and he found it harder and harder to keep up, even his trained eye failing to match their speed at times. Though, he swung his spear around him wildly yet in a manner reformed enough he did not look a fool. By the end of the first trial, all of the weapons lay around him, in the snow.

Being a man of incredible physical stature, Mikhael wasn't exactly deterred by the physical exercise Lord Kenshin requested. While the push-ups and sit-ups required at the end did not seem like much, people failed to consider just how rough it was going to be simply running in this weather, and just how weak they'd be afterward. Mikhael was, however, accustomed to these types of exercises, and while he acknowledged it would be difficult, he was not at all going to be incapable of completing the task.
As soon as the laps began, Mikhael kept his pace steady and his strides naturally insanely long. At his regular jog, he was well at the front of the group, matching the speed of first-lap-sprinters, though without putting in nearly their effort. While the rain beat down on him and he pulled his feet through the mud, he kept his breath calm and motions consistent, minimizing the strain put on himself. And it showed. Not even two laps into the run, most of the soldiers would start to fall behind Mikhael, who was yet to show any signs of relenting.
About seven laps in, Mikhael was three laps ahead of everyone else, and he'd finally felt a strain in his legs. however, he pushed on through the laps, ignoring the pain and picking now to increase his speed to his fullest. Mud shot up in every direction with each step he took, and pulling his feet from the ground became much harder from the added weight in his feet. The rain felt even heavier now, his hair sticking to his face and falling in front of his eyes, hindering his vision. Though, by now, he'd had the course completely memorized, and any random obstacles thrown his way, he would already see coming. It wasn't too difficult, and in a total of three hours, Mikhael managed to complete all of the laps.
Finishing almost twice as fast as everyone else, Mikhael still neglected to spend time resting simply because he did not want to let his body cool down, and make the following exercises even harder after the fatigue. So, he fell to his arms, speeding through the push-ups with the best stature he could. they took very little time, about ten minutes total. From there, he set himself up for the sit-ups, powering through this rather quickly due to his incredible form.
In all, Mikhael took four hours, and as soon as he was done he changed his clothes and set himself up in the barracks to rest. He finally let his muscles cool down, and he was going to feel it in the morning.

Name: Mikhael, family name abandoned. Faction: Uesugi Ethnicity: Russian Age: 22 Gender: Male Height: 6'10'' Weight: 255 lbs Eye Color: Blue Hair Color: Blond Appearance: Mikhael is an incredibly large man. He stands at an impressive 6'10'' and has the build of a titan, his body basically being at its physical peak. Not a single muscle on his body stands undefined. He is also riddled with scars from battles he'd taken part in back home, and each one he considers both a reminder and a trophy. Personality: The man is, undoubtedly, a war-monger, though you wouldn't be able to tell that out of battle. During conflict, he becomes a war machine fueled by hate and rage. He goes for the kill more often than not, as battle is war is kill-or-be-killed. That said, he harbors a respect for the warriors he fights alongside and against, and tries to honor the memory of every man and woman he kills, and falls in battle at his side. Outside of combat, Mikhael is surprisingly kind and reserved. He will keep his distance, fearing social contact simply because it is not something he is personally accustomed to. He has high moral standards, seeing anyone who would harm innocents as the scum of the earth, and his own personal enemies. Mikhael finds worth in people through combat, seeing as his personal skills are so low. If he finds a skilled warrior, it's highly likely he'll hold them in high regard, regardless of whether or not they beat him. Any who defeat him in battle, he respects without question. History: Originally Mikhael Mihaelov, Mikhael was the son of a powerful figure in Russia during the beginning of the Sengoku period. The Mihaelov family was incredibly influential, and each member of the family was renowned for their prowess in battle, man or woman, young or old. They were each capable of single-handedly taking on battalions and coming out victorious, making them pivotal figures in the battles they participated in. Mikhael, unlike the others in his family, turned sword-for-hire, opting not to become involved with the politics of the country at the time. This was due to how he saw the wars affecting the people, and the role his family played in that. He could not agree with raising his blade in defense of the already rich and powerful, while stifling the freedoms of the less fortunate. So, taking the smallest gifts as payment - a meal, a bed for the night, a friendly conversation - the man left his family and took up arms in the defense of the less fortunate. Several battles occurred between Mikhael and his family, and more often than not, he pushed the great Mihaelov family back all on his own, earning him the title of God of War in his home country. However, after much conflict, Mikhael was eventually overcome, and lost everything he fought for. On top of this, he no longer had a home in Russia, so this pushed him to move further east, and escape the clutches of his family. Years of mercenary work eventually landed Mikhael in Echigo, where he continued as a mercenary for about six months. It didn't take long until he wound up involved in the battles of Kawanakajima, and, seeing the might of the Uesugi, he became intrigued with their leader Kenshin. Seeing the man in battle, how formidable he was, and yet also seeing how pure his intentions were, were what drew Mikhael to his army. A foreign officer in the ranks of the Uesugi, Mikhael now proudly fights in their battle alongside them.
