Sorry for the sudden disappearance, guys. Life has me swamped and it's difficult for me to find free time where I don't instantly knock out, haha. I just wanted to let y'all know that I haven't forgotten this place and hopefully I'll be back sometime next week when things slow down. Poops. Sorry to those I'm threading with. ):

She flinched- not because she was afraid, but because she was merely surprised at the sudden change. A warning would have been nice, but instead he just had to just show her first, and THEN warn her.
"You surprised me-- but no, what reason do I have to be afraid?" A gentle smile as she reached up with her free hand and pinched her superior's nose. "You are still the same. You would appear formidable to your opponents because they only know your exterior."
A pause.
"I do think that the change is very cool, Sanada-san."
It made his stories more believable.

"I would not have, either." She would have gone about it differently, probably because she was a woman and didn't have those weird demon powers that this man had. Any who would idly stand while a man was trying to take what was not rightfully his was just as bad as said man, in her opinion. "I'm sure you understand what the people will say. Tales change into something much larger in times like these. Word could spread that you aided a demon in his conquest." "I care little- if at all- what people say about and of me." Because Seiko knew who she was, and those closest to her knew who she was; and as long as there was no misunderstandings in her inner circle, she was more than fine. She grew up around careless voices- some whispers, and some outright rude and obnoxious. As a result, she grew tough skin. He probably didn't understand because he didn't react so harshly to her appearance; but to those who had never seen a white haired individual, let alone with red eyes always seemed to have some sort of new name for her- demon being one of them. "You're very good at self-condemnation." A random observational comment.

"Mm...I'll take these- oh-- do you have any acupuncture needles?"
She already had a basket full of items just in case the Inn didn't have what she needed. There would be no need for compensation because Seiko had to get these items anyway, and she never really took in the injured for money. She didn't really make a living off of anything- the other two she lived with, did.
"Oh- these will do," she uttered quietly after inspecting the points and lengths of the needles. She paid the appropriate amount before adding it to the basket, which had splinters, wraps, ointments, vials containing liquids and paste-- interesting items; necessary items.
OOC: I'll have Seiko appear in the next post.

She blinked. He completely disregarded her hair and skin color- that was pretty cool. Most people reacted negatively but he just treated her as if she were another random, normal- if not slightly odd- person. Seeing him approach the castle, Seiko followed suit after him but kept her distance, her trusty short spear in hand.
She was supposed to go back home, but watching another person enter the castle was too much of a temptation to not go in herself.

"...skeleton chariot rider? You always have the wildest stories." Despite Seiko's frequent travels, she lived a pretty sheltered life. Mostly because she always had her face in a book, trying to figure out the latest medicinal advances so that one day she might be useful to the Takeda faction; after all they've given her, it was a heavy burden on her heart. That, and it felt like it was the only connection she had to her parents, hence why everything- even her travels- pointed towards her purpose in becoming a better physician.
"I wouldn't let you walk alone. Let me just tell Minari so he doesn't think I went off on an adventure." She stood and scampered off. Minari, despite only being half a decade older, was like her father figure. He was still sleeping, which was typical.
"Let me help you up," she uttered while she walked back towards him, flanking him on the side where his hip wasn't injured.

"Numa Castle. Quite a sight... wouldn't you say?"
Seiko's eyes widened. She had hidden behind a large tree when she heard the steps of a stranger trekking through the marshlands. Seiko thought the place was a rather secluded area so she immediately thought she would be in danger, hence the reason she hid herself. She had asked Yuki to take her here when the two had time but curiosity got the best of her and she ended up coming alone. Probably not the best of ideas when she saw the wounds that resulted from his being at the castle, but she planned on just taking a little peek and then head back on a long journey back home!
She poked her head out first, wary of the sword at his side. But he had already seen her, so might as well make herself known.
"Yeah."
Pause.
"You're not going to hurt me, are you...?"

Fascinating. The dark matter that he could control was literally a part of him? What kind of magic was this...? And then she remembered Yukimura talking about a dark energy knight- similarly calling it a monster. Probably not the same person, but interesting that the two had similar characteristics.
There were lots of things that she could have said- but unfortunately they were all things she thought of after she had acted. So he brought up a very good question- why did she do what she did?
"Many reasons, I suppose- to protect the people from you and to protect you from the people. Or- realizing that I was afraid for you, and not of you. Maybe both."
Pause.
"What made you so angry?"

The first of the stars were evaded simply by chance to avoid one of the arrows, though didn't go unnoticed. It cut through several strands of her hair, causing the pupils of her eyes to narrow in recognition to what was being done. She wasn't so sure if she liked the difference in treatment now because it just meant more work for her. Physically, she was already at a disadvantage from the rest of the men.
The staff in her hand, she started to twirl with ease- as if she had done this many a times before, hoping that the stars would be deflected. Not much was done- some stars got passed, one even making a thin cut on her left cheek, while the others stuck to the wooden pole. The position of her hand on the pole switched, as if she were ready to throw it-- and she did. Straight into the direction where the stars were coming from, which is where Sasuke had been. It wouldn't be thrown hard enough for it to actually reach him, but she was hoping that he would be distracted long enough for her to make a mad dash to the finish, avoiding the arrows by moving in erratic patterns.
...
"Takeda army, form up! Well done everyone, you survived your first training day. But don't celebrate just yet. There will be more training days in the future, so prepared. But for now, you've earned your meal. Dismissed!"
She was exhausted. She was bleeding. She was tired. She wasn't hungry. So rather than going to grab her meal, she just wanted to find a place to nap. Ugh. First day of training sucked.

She stopped.
"...where is the Inn?"
She asked because she was going to send him back. She would buy the supplies herself and meet him and his friend there. Stupid boy didn't know the severity of his own injury and worried only about his friend's. Although externally it may have looked like a completely selfless act, Seiko couldn't help but think how incredibly selfish it was.
"Go. I'll see you there in a few minutes."

"You underestimate the gravity of a broken heart," a slight mutter and a 'tsk'.
"Your hip?! I only saw your arm!" Protest and a scold. Even though he was her superior, there were times like these when she just slipped with her words. Then again, he probably would want to see the official doctor of Takeda; Seiko was a physician but had little experience under her belt. The official physician, on the other hand, was old and wise- he had a white beard full of knowledge.
"You didn't. I saved you." Another joke because they both knew it was he that saved her, back when she was just 16, hair covered in black soot and ashes from the ruins of the home. Sometimes she wondered where she would be if Yukimura hadn't seen her; probably dead.

"You're only a monster if you behave like one."
His immediate reaction to the forming crowd, the protective demeanor-- she blinked when she was surrounded by darkness, her hand instinctively reaching out to hold onto him, almost as if she feared she would sink into them. But then another pulled outward from the man's body and she watched, speechless, as it ran off while the red-eyed man stood before her.
"Monsters do not protect, else you would be the nicest monster I know." She followed in the direction where he led. She wasn't familiar with the area and assumed because he was ushering, that he knew- then again, they could just be running in a random direction for the sake of getting away. She was starting to wish she had told Yukimura that she was leaving on one of her little mini-adventures in Japan. Hnn.
"What about your...doppleganger?" She didn't know what else to call it.

Ooh...kay. That was new.
The wooden poles were actually a pleasant surprise; it was a weapon that Seiko was familiar with- well, not a wooden pole, but it was more useful to her than arrows. When the first few poles landed in front of her, Seiko stopped; rather than immediately running around it, she pulled one from the ground before moving to the right, only to be stopped by another pole. Move to the left, pole. Without so much of a second thought, her lithe body successfully weaved between the center pole and the left one, and with each subsequent pole that flew towards her after would not stop her; instead, she would press on by spinning (much like in American football to avoid a tackle). If she could help it, she would use her own pole that she took and swing, to knock the pole further away before it was fully able to touch the ground. This was definitely a hindrance to her grand finale, but the fact that they whipped out something on her that they hadn't on the other men made her feel an odd sense of pride.

It was hard. She had seen men being killed before but never in such a manner as this; at first she thought he could have been demon possessed but after gauging his reaction to his own deed, it probably wasn't the case. Although she had helped him in leaving the scene, she had also helped herself; woman with white hair and unnatural eyes fleeing from the event alone would have triggered some unfortunate thoughts. But act out a play and maybe the focus of the situation would diffuse onto something else.
"Ironic because I could say the same to you," her voice murmured, not exactly intending for him to hear.
She wondered why she hadn't reacted so badly to witnessing a man being ripped in two. She was more horrified that she didn't exactly feel anything for the man despite him having lost a life; had she been desensitized from when she was a teenager, when she would aid her father in dissecting people after they had passed?
There was so much yet at the same time nothing to say. Here was a complete stranger before her and she had twisted her own fate with his by weaving herself into his life. Sounds pretty dramatic.
"You have a heavy burden."
She knew a thing or two about them, but she was not going to try and understand how he felt. Her heart went out to the people who were injured, but never did she think of injury in such a manner before. Her eyes flickered to the small dark energy that was behind him and stared at it, literally not knowing what else to do or say.
That is, until the shouts of people could be heard at a distance, growing louder by the second. They had followed the little trail of dark matter that he left with each step. What to do, what to do!

"I think I just heard the hearts a million girls break." She joked, but only partially. Girls these days were head over heels for soldier boys and Yukimura was one of the more popular bachelors. Because they were close not only in relation but also in age, many of her female companions would ask about him and if there was anything going on between them. Unfortunately, Seiko was so purpose driven in perfecting her practice in medicine that she had little thought for anything else- or anyone, for that matter.
"How's the pain??" She asked because she was genuinely curious. She can't practice medicine unless people are injured, but the less injured people are, the better.

Brows furrowed; cuts were only dangerous if they weren't treated correctly. The Inn probably did a fine enough job tending to them, but just in case she wanted to grab some ointment and needles to manipulate her flow of qi and alleviate pain.
"How deep is your stab wound?" She started walking down toward the marketplace, expecting him to follow.

But they wouldn't see Seiko coming out of the smoke in the direction they had perceived. Instead, she went backwards to collect more arrows, using their misconception of her re-appearance to her advantage. She didn't go back too far, she only needed two more which she had collected with ease before disappearing back into the smoke and coming out, making a straight dash to the finish line- a full out sprint.
There were only so many arrows Masayuki could aim at Seiko at a time; there were probably 2-3 seconds of leeway while he grabbed another arrow, aimed, and launched, which was plenty of time for Seiko to shift her attention back and forth between that and the explosive kunai. Because she was at an all out sprint, she was only assuming that the two above in the towers were likewise running to keep up, or at least stay ahead of her. So she stopped. There would be a couple missteps in her two superiors who were attempting to thwart her- perfect, because that gave her some time (not much) to actually follow the trajectory of one of the kunai, allowing her to do the same as before. Except the same tactic would not work twice, so rather than running through the smoke, she would be running outside it, hoping that their eyes were focused more in the covered area than on herself; if only she were wearing all white, how simple her task would be.
Though, an arrow came down and she could not avoid it, not entirely. It cut through the sleeve of her shirt and cut her skin, blood seeping through, but with the adrenaline pumping through her she barely even felt it. She switched the pace of her run multiple times at random; the thing about shooting arrows is that the offender needed to have an estimate on where their moving target would be in the future; he was a skilled archer, and no doubt if he wanted her dead she already would be. But knowing that their purpose was not to kill nor seriously injure was probably the greatest advantage one could have.

Likewise, she ran to the source of the scream, making it just in time to see the man being ripped apart. The woman screamed a second time and ran into Seiko's shoulder- no utter of apology, just a frantic desperation to get away from the man before her- the man who seemed to be opposite in appearance of Seiko. He was so dark and exuded a fearful aura that made her wish she was back at home and not wandering the streets of Japan. But they had one thing in similar; his red eyes, as unnatural as it appeared on him.
Did you hear those screams? I think it came from over there!
Make or break moment. She didn't know why she was still standing near the man who had just taken the life of another; didn't know why she didn't run away like the other woman despite the fact that, in a messed up way, this guy was her savior. But she knew if she didn't get out of there soon, she would be swept up as being a part of this incident because of her own uncanny appearance. It was a scandal she didn't need.
"Onii-sama, I want to go back home!" She said so loudly enough for the people that were starting to gather nearby to hear, voice laden with a wild sense of fake fear, as she reached forward, her small almost delicate hands tightly grasping around one wrist. She would tug and tug to get him moving in a separate direction, away from the forming crowd. Their attention was divided; some stared incredulously at the mangled body before them while others looked at the duo who couldn't possibly pass as siblings but actually might pull it off because of such the stark difference.
Why was she leaving with someone she was afraid of? Someone who could potentially rip her apart as easily as he did with the other man? Her eyes blinked furiously while her mind raced, not wholly sure who she was getting her life involved with. She would keep on walking, either until he forced her to let go or at least until she saw no more people- which was also probably a bad idea, but--
She glanced back at him, red eyes peeking beneath the snow white wisps of hair.
--she realized she was more afraid for him than she was of him, whatever that meant.

She let out a slow, disapproving sigh. The fact that he was stabbed and walking about was pretty high up on the list of things not to do when wounded via impalement. But if this was the condition he was in, she wondered what state his friend was in for him to be so concerned.
"How bad? Also stab wounds? Burns? Open cuts?"
Knowing that they were at the Inn made things easier; it meant that there would be supplies available on site if she needed anything.

When she finished tending to the acupuncture, she carefully wiped the medicinal paste off and replaced it with a fresh layer. Once completed, she felt herself relax; acupuncture always made her feel tense because she didn't want to stick a needle in the wrong area. Bah. She reached for a thin length of cloth, something that looked similar to a towel or a very thin blanket, and laid it atop the needles. He would have to stay put for the next hour and a half, which meant she would have to sit beside him to ensure that he didn't roll around.
She was going to get up and grab a fresh batch of tea but he had latched onto her. A small grin as she remembered his odd habits; it wasn't the first time he had been injured and she had tended to him, so the latching was something she had already known.
"Some things never change." She murmured quietly to herself, deciding to meditate while he slept. Once the hour and half passed, she would start pulling the needles out of him. Yoink!

(OOC: Oh! Is one not meant for slaying? LOL Sorry! My knowledge on swords = limited...or non-existent, I guess.)
She nodded her head. There weren't many female physicians, but it just so happened that Seiko was part of a generation that worked with needles and herbs. She didn't quite know how to perform surgery, but she had - unfortunately - amputated a limb or two in her line of work. A bloody mess, literally, but necessary, and excruciatingly painful. Numbing only went so far.
"I am. Please- I insist." Seeing his concern for his friend only made her desire to check up on her grow; and it would give her the chance to repay him for his kindness, which is something she rarely found in strangers. He said he had been injured as well, did he not?
"What kind of injuries do you two have?" Because she might have to buy some supplies before she heads over.

Seeing his head bob up and down, she got up to grab a pillow from a nearby drawer.
"Sleep- I'll wake you when I finish."
She would place his arm carefully onto her lab and, while he dozed off, she would start heating up the needles in the fire as a means to disinfect them. Fire was always a must have in her line of work. When one was too hot to touch, she would press the needle into his skin surrounding his wounds, pushing the sharp metal a quarter of an inch. There would be other parts of his body where acupuncture would be necessary just because that's how it works and I'm too lazy to do the research to know exactly why.

She poured a bit of tea into a cup and set it before him, allowing him to drink with his free hand if he so willed. She moved to the side where he was injured and gingerly ran her fingers over his injuries, brows furrowing as her mind raced at what would be the most beneficial way to tend to him. She got up without saying a word and went to fetch a basil of warm water and two jars of pre-made medicine, as well as an already lit candle.
She returned with the items as well as a small wash cloth to clean his wound. There were two ugly holes in his shoulder.
"How did this happen?" Quietly spoken. Once clean, she took a thin white strip of cloth and wrapped it once around both his injuries before spreading the paste-like medication on his wounds. The strips worked as strainers so that only the medicinal properties would pass through and not anything else, making it easier to clean.
She started unpacking the needles for acupuncture but briefly looked up at him to gauge how he was doing.

OOC: I wasn't sure how far I was supposed to go...so if there's something you don't agree with, you can just ignore it and GM it however haha and I'll just follow along.
Her turn.
She watched as each man before her attempted to do the same as the one before- merely to get through the obstacle course without getting hit. Seiko was, physically, at a slight disadvantage; the men that went before her were stronger than her and no doubt could endure longer than her in a fight. But Seiko had foresight; she had intelligence- might as well use that to her advantage.
Before it was her turn, she had been taking mental note of where the first arrow usually landed depending on where the first steps of the individual taking the course. That would be key in her fight to get through the course. No one had gotten through the obstacle course unscathed so Seiko didn't expect the same: her purpose was similar, but judging how none of the men were seriously injured, Seiko realized that those shooting the arrows and bombs weren't necessarily trying to seriously maim the men.
She didn't bother staying on the center stage for too long; as fast as she stepped on, she stepped off, following in the footsteps of one of the men in the beginning. Arrow shot before her, as predicted; she was low to the ground and hand swiped to pick up the arrow to use, twice, for one arrow in each hand-- and, to ensure that she wouldn't be following exactly in the steps of the ones that went before her, she switched it up. The beginning was easiest because there were only two towers shooting at her.
Seiko was completely immersed in the obstacle. The towers that the men were on were evenly spaced; timing was almost everything, especially when she was to transition from tower to tower; there would never be more than four towers attacking her at once. Bombs fell close to her feet which made her wonder if there was a deeper purpose to how they were attacking...there usually always was in trainings. The next bomb that fell, rather than avoiding it, Seiko would launch herself towards it and, holding one of the arrows by the point, would use it as a bat to have it explode in the air above and before her. It wasn't fair if it was only foggy on the ground, so why not create smoke up in the air too? Level out the playing field.
She wans't sure if that was even allowed, but whatevs!
