You will need higher Wis to keep track of higher Dex characters and all. For example, in my fight with Yukimura, Haji couldn't keep track of his movements so well and I had him take hits he could've done something about with his own Dex. If the Wis stat is neglected, ranged characters will have a really quick trigger finger and a lot of power behind their shots, but yes, they won't be able to keep track of their target so well. Marksmanship shows how much your hand can be steady, so you'd never miss. But I suppose it's assumed that if you're at S rank Marksmanship you'd have a lot of Wis anyway. Early proficiencies are easy to get, later ones are much harder.

Wis is for being perception in combat, yes, or your character's overall knowledge or battle experience. Ranged characters should also have a lot of Wis, this is true, but their primary stat is Dex.
Proficiencies are put into place so people can't say "My character is a master of stealth" or something right off of the bat. The SPQs that give proficiencies are the proof that your characters are at least proficient to that level that they earned. Anyone can write in their history that they're a master ninja, but we like having our characters prove that they can do it. Otherwise we'll have super fit master ninja swordsmen who can aim a gun no problem all over the place.
As for Leadership, I believe higher ranks give higher stats to your followers if you go up to A or S. We'll have to write up more details regarding them at some point. They were kind of put in on a whim.
We just started over a month ago so we have some kinks to work out.

I believe we're following how the Dex stat is usually utilized in many games. It has to do with speed, yes, but also handling of more advanced weaponry. In games like Dark Souls or many MMOs, Dex is usually the stat that ranged characters rely on. If we change it now, well... that just screws over a lot of the ranged characters that we have who pumped so much into Dexterity.
Wisdom is more of a mixture of Wis and Int from previous boards you've been on. Probably Charisma in there too.

"Hidenori, you idiot!"
- Hideyasu would rush in after his brother, cursing his stupidity. He had to back him up, or those balls and chains could do some serious damage to him. Deciding to take Naotora's other side, Hideyasu would come in, attempting to help his brother flank her and swing their weapons at her from either side. Unlike Hidenori, he'd attempt to dodge anything that would come at him.

Haha, it's good to get it all compiled in one thread though. Especially since not everyone reads bios from my experience.
For Hideyasu, it'd have to be Mitsunari Ishida from Sengoku BASARA (voiced by Troy Baker), who happens to be his play-by. I just can't picture anyone else doing his voice, so... www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIisrtfUyv0
17 more minutes of it, yaaay. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKLLGOpy1-M

- Hideyasu examined the shadow orbs carefully, blade at the ready, but he wasn't quick enough to stop the Crawler from jumping out and headbutting him. The ninja fell back in pain, grunting and gritting his teeth. He quickly blended into whatever shadows were immediately around him, moving to the side and bringing his blade up in an attempt to decapitate this beast. He would stay blended, moving and attempting to slash and stab at whatever he could, crawler or otherwise.

- Hideyasu sighed. Reuniting with his two brothers just in time for some crazed royal rumble? Of course this was a non-canon episode.
"The real reunion will happen someday."
- His hand on his katana, he approached their destination alongside the other three. Takehiro was there, meaning Hideyasu had to be at his very best for the entire battle if he even wanted to survive. He guessed it was a no holding back sort of ordeal.
"For now... I shall enjoy this."

(OOC: STR: 12 (13) | DEX: 13 (19) | CON: 8 (9) | WIS: 8 (10) | SPR: 10 (12) )
- Hideyasu looked up at Oda Nobunaga as he gave his speech, a look of disgust visible in the ninja's eyes. He hated the Oda with all of his being, and all he wanted was to lash out and cut the daimyo down where he stood. But even Hideyasu knew that would not possible, not intelligent to do. He wasn't here for the Oda, but rather...
"Haji..."
- He muttered under his breath. He knew that his little brother was participating in this battle. Takehiro and Haji were Hideyasu's reasons for being here, and even if his little brother did not know of his existence, Hideyasu swore that he would keep him safe, even from the shadows. And keeping his distance is exactly what he would do as he headed west, his sword sheathed, but he felt the time to use it would be very soon.

- Damn, one of the couriers got away. That could only prove to be a hindrance to the entire operation. Listening to Takehiro, Hideyasu would turn around, racing back to the village in order to support his men.
"Nekoya, you're with me."
- Hideyasu ordered one of his men, and the man obliged, pulling out his chain and sickle and running to aid Hideyasu as they charged the enemies in the village. They would slay any who came into range of their weapons, the rest of his unit cleaning up and attacking from the shadows.

"Don't play innocent, you dog! You killed my mother in Owari fifteen years ago! Stabbed her in the heart!"
- Hideyasu seethed with rage, wanting to cut down this man where he stood, but halted his blade when he heard someone else approaching the two of them, calling out to them. Turning his head, there was someone with their bow drawn, and his voice would come out, still a little angry.
"Who are you? And why do you know my name...?"
- His eyes would shift back and forth between the Oda soldier and the newcomer. Were the two of them in league? No, then this man would've known Hideyasu's name as well, wouldn't he? And he didn't even seem to acknowledge their presence...
Wait, did they say Haji earlier...?
- He would look back on the archer with curious eyes. Were they a friend of his little brother's? Takehiro had told Hideyasu of a companion that Haji traveled with, was this the one?
"I have questions for you... but that can wait until this man lies dead at my feet."
- He turned back to the Oda soldier, sword still pointing at him. The man had a rifle, and Hideyasu was in broad daylight, so the circumstances were disadvantageous to him. Regardless, he would let nothing hinder his vengeance.

- Hideyasu phased back into a visible existence, his jaw dropped at what had just transpired. The pirate girl had gone and completely blown all of the undead soldiers to pieces with two cannonballs! Looking at the girl with a new level of respect, mixed with slight fear, he was glad she was on his side, and hoped she'd never be an enemy to the Hojo.
I definitely need to get some of those... He eyed the cannons for a moment before proceeding forward, towards the chest. Constantine seemed like he would be the one to hold onto the chest, but that veil of darkness still surrounded the entrance.
"The entrance is still blocked off... keep your guard up. I don't think this is over."
- He'd keep his blade at the ready, positioning himself at the other side of Constantine. What would open the entrance back up? Was the chest the key? Or was there something more dangerous lurking about?

- Hideyasu stared at the man, now able to get a clear look at his face. His eyes widened and teeth gritted in anger, and his katana was drawn in an instant.
"It was you... you killed my mother fifteen years ago! I'd never forget that face!"
- He pointed his blade at the Oda officer, a killer intent in his eyes was growing violently, and for the first time in his life, Hideyasu planned to use that rage as a weapon. This man would die right here by his hand.

- Hideyasu's eyes widened. He was truly surprised. Takehiro was willing to raise his own banner in this land? Willing to oppose the Hojo and every other Daimyo in their struggle for power? And he wanted this assassin on his side. It was truly a heartfelt offer, even to one as cold as Hideyasu.
"... Perhaps if the time ever comes... You might find my blade in your service, Takehiro."
- It wouldn't be now, but he could see himself working for a higher purpose in the future. Living in the shadows and taking lives was all that he had ever known. Anything else seemed... scary, foreign to him.

(OOC: Tokugawa Iemasa first, then after his part is done, Shinomori Katsumi posts. This will kind of be a two part thread, but Iemasa's probably won't take long.)
- Hideyasu was trailing an Oda soldier, standing quite a distance away. Every time it looked like he would be discovered, he would slip behind a tree or blend in with other people as to not draw suspicion. It was the middle of the day, so the amount of people around wasn't a surprise.
- The man he was tailing, he looked just like the face Hideyasu remembered from his memories of that night fifteen years ago. He was possibly on the tail of his mother's killer, and he was going to exact vengeance this day if his mark was right. At the end of this road, a long bridge was coming up, with a river underneath. The amount of people in the area seemed to be dwindling, and Hideyasu was sure he'd end up confronting this man on that bridge.

- Hideyasu spotted the couriers in an instant, and his ninja knew what to do. Hideyasu himself would remain visible, attempting to slice through the group the best he could, while his ninjas surrounded him invisibly, slaughtering any Yoritomo who neared him. They would be distracted by the visible ninja, while an unseen death would strike at them from elsewhere.
- Jumping onto a horse whenever possible, Hideyasu quickly took some shuriken from one of his ninja, giving chase as quick as he could, while his men would clean up. Once within throwing range, Hideyasu would throw those razor sharp weapons at the couriers on his side, planning on slaying them in an instant. If successful, he would return to help his men with the Yoritomo soldiers, who were still fighting an invisible threat.

- Hideyasu's eyes widened a bit. Just drop the Hojo? Leave? Takehiro spoke like it was so easy, and perhaps it was to him, but...
"The Hojo took me in and raised me like their own... Could I really just..."
- To leave the life of an assassin behind. The prospect seemed promising, and yet, he knew he would be hunted down like he had been sent to kill Nekoya. A ninja with as much of a name as Hideyasu had may warrant the Fuuma being sent after him, and he knew he could never best Kotaro in battle, nor even dream of it. He was trapped.

"A saint? So he's much different than me..."
- Hideyasu looked to his hands, the hands that had taken so much blood. Together, he and Takehiro had wiped an entire clan from the face of the earth. An assault that helped to establish the Hojo as a dangerous power, one that could end your mere existence if you opposed them. But it left Hideyasu with bitter resentment towards himself. If Haji was walking a different path, one that was pure and good, then... he admired his little brother for that, a path he could never walk.
"Even you seem to have changed your ways. Did my brother influence that too?"

- Hideyasu would be surprised as he was suddenly pulled into the door with the rest of the group. The stench of death and blood would greet him, and while he was familiar with it, it was never something he really got used to. Climbing up to his feet afterwards, and being met with the shrieks of the dead, his eyes widened a bit. He had been an assassin most of his life, and his duty had always been to kill. Never in his line of work had he seen the dead come back to life like this, and he couldn't help but wonder if conventional means would even work here.
- Gritting his teeth, he would run along behind Nanami to get on the other side of her, making sure to provide protection for their ranged fighter. From this side, he would blend into whatever shadows he could find, and slice at the necks of any undead who strayed in their direction, planning to decapitate any and all of them.

- Hideyasu's arms were halted by chains, but it wouldn't last for long, as his ninjas would waste no time in cutting through the chains binding their leader. If this went as planned, Hideyasu and his men quickly strike at the support for the buildings on which the enemies stood, bringing them tumbling down to ground level where they would be finished off by Hideyasu and his men.

- Hideyasu and his men would end up being pushed closer to the center of the village, and the ninja turned around to see what had caused this turn of events. Larger Yoritomo fighters had appeared, and it seemed the ambushers were ambushed.
"No matter. They die too."
- Ten of Hideyasu's men shadow meld where possible, closing in for the kill. They would aim at the legs and arms, planning on disabling the fighters. Another ten would move in for killing blows, Hideyasu himself among them, planning on slicing through the throats and chests of those he could cleave. All were invisible. Their enemies would be unaware of their own deaths coming straight for them.

- Hideyasu looked upon the enemies who were now aware of their presence, having dwindled a good number of enemies before they even caught wind of the ambush. There were many, but the enemy was still outnumbered.
- Hideyasu would swing his wakizashi at the first enemy to get close to him, horizontally through the waist. If this was successful, he would instantly move to the next target, slicing him clean in two. If any enemies took advantage of his swings to try and attack him with an opening, he would stab them with the hidden blade ejected from his wrist.

- Hideyasu merely nodded at Takehiro's words, and the ninja ran off, his men following behind him. He took no pleasure in exterminating an entire village like this, wiping a clan off of the face of the earth, but orders were orders. Circling around the back of the village, Hideyasu and his unit would lay in waiting for a distraction. - Hideyasu took a glance at each of the three paths. There wasn't any indication about which door held what, but he wasn't exactly expecting any signs to point them to the treasure anyway. He had heard Constantine's and Shoji's suggestions, and wasn't really partial to either choice. If he wanted to add further conflict on which way to go, he could simply suggest the right path. But he wouldn't.
"Any is fine."
- All he had to do was keep himself and his comrades alive. That said, he wondered if there would be any resistance in this place to begin with.
