Seeing the wave of men running toward him Akataru licked his lips. While he might have been a bit worried about the fight he was more then ready to clash swords with his opponents. He stood completely still before raising his dual katana in front of him. As soon as the enemy line reached him he took a step forward and blocked to his right. While he hoped to block an attack it didn't really matter, if he blocked an attack or not he would still spin to his right and sent both of the blades in a downward slant from the top left to the bottom right. He was hoping that the simple yet effective strike would at least send one of the ronin into a defensive stance.
As Akataru sent both of his blades toward one of the ronin he let out a shallow chuckle. The young males lust to spill blood could be clearly felt in the air as he followed the spinning strike up with a more complex attack. He quickly pulled the blades away from each other and sent them back down in an 'X' shape as he went for a killing blow. Akataru would then return to a defensive stance to block any counter attacks the ronin would send at him. The sound of steel clashing could be heard through the battlefield as the two forces meant head on.

As he listened to the young general a wide grin formed on Akataru's face. However only the corners of his lips could be seen over the top of the metal piece that was positioned in front of his mouth.
"Don't worry about me. I don't plan on falling today, not to the likes of these fools."
Akataru then drew the dual katana that have represented his family for several generations. The blades had seen many of battles and today was just going to add another one. If Akataru would have had an alternate weapon he would have used it instead, seeing as the honorless foe did not deserve to witness the duo in action. However that was not the case and he had no other choice then to use them.
He quickly turned to Lord Iwasaki as he finished addressing Yori and listened to his offer. To Akataru's surprise the forces that he had been hoping for had been appointed to him. While it was a relief to have support in the battle deep down the young warrior was indeed nervous. Not only due to the fact that he was going up against a formidable opponent, but he couldn't stop thinking about the weight of the soldier's lives that now were in his hands. If they were to fail and the men were to die it would be because of his plan to lead the assault. One thing he was happy about though was his ability to hide his feelings from other. He quickly concealed his feelings as he bowed to Lord Iwasaki and his men.
"It is and honor to make you and you men's acquaintance Lord Iwasaki. I am proud to be able to offer my assistance and I am honored that you would entrust me with the remainder of your forces."
After Akataru finished thanking Lord Iwasaki he took a glance at f before watching Yukimura's men join the rest of the forces. The young Zeruko took a moment to gather himself and expel all of his negative tone from his voice as he now addressed the force as a whole.
"I'm glad that you men have continued to fight while so many have fallen. That ends now, right now we will be taking the fight back to the ronin and we are going to show them the strength of our army. Let's make sure that the lives lost today were not in vain. Let the heavens strengthen our wills and guide our blades to victory."
His speech was by no means professional and he stumbled over a couple of the words. Although he didn't speak like a leader would he spoke from the heart and told the men the truth. As soon as he finished his 'speech', if you could call it that, he immediately turned on his feet and started a well paced march toward the castle. He and the warriors under his command were now standing mere meters from the ronin as he hoped to stall as much as possible before beginning the fight. He also favored defending over charging. While the momentum would give the ronin the upper hand on the first strike he knew that such tactics caused forces to become clumsy.

(OOC: Going in head first!) [Note to Lord Takeda, While the training isn't up I'm putting this after the training, but before his enlistment/recruitment into the Takeda army.]
Str: 8 (15) Dex: 15 Con: 15 Wis: 10 Spr: 5
While Akataru technically wasn't in the Takeda army and wasn't even asking for payment he still thought it would be honorable to assist Lord Iwasaki. In fact the man had almost nothing to gain from helping the small-time Daimyo, but how could he stand by idly when their was a chance to show his prowess with his blade. He had just caught the news about an hour ago and hurried over to the grove where he saw the rather young Daimyo. Akataru could judge him though, he was still pretty young himself anyway. Reaching the grove the young warrior placed his hands on his knees and panted heavily. His muscles were still aching from the training and he felt like he could use a good rest, however there was no time to worry about his own needs when people were in need of help. Just catching the Takeda generals idea the man nodded in agreement. Adjusting the mask to his white Shinobi shozoku the rather tight mask while preforming the task of concealing his face it was rather tight due to the armor he wore over it. With the Shinobi shozoku on he also had metal shin guards, a breastplate, arm guards, and a metal guard in front of his mouth that only really covered his neck, chin, and his mouth.
"If you shall be favoring the stealthy route I shall lead a frontal assault. I might not be able to give you much support in a form of a body count, I could however give you the cover needed to infiltrate the castle."
The man's doubt in his skill shown ever so slightly through his tone as he gave his input. While he was fully aware that he couldn't cut through the opposition he new he could hold his own against one of the ronin...maybe even two if he focused solely on his defense. Even know he would appreciate the aid of troops or even a general he didn't ask for any.

Akataru had only been in the Kofu for a short while and he had already heard some interesting news about rebuilding some villages in Takeda territory. While it seemed like it would more then likely be dull it was something he could do to help out some of the locals. If the young male was lucky maybe he might even get some notice from some of the more 'important' people of Kofu. That was of no matter to the warrior as he continued to walk down the dirt trail he had been on for awhile. He was just beginning to doubt the directions he was given when he began to see the bright brown wooden walls of the huts.
As soon as the slim figured man stepped foot in the village their were several other people helping rebuild the village that approached him. The men told him he was to be transporting the materials. That was their fancy way of saying he would be their pack mule for the day. Shrugging his shoulders Akataru rushed over to a cart of lumber. Grabbing the wooden handles of the cart the young male gave a soft sigh before starting to walk toward a man who seemed to be working on the raw lumber. While the sun beating down on Akataru was extremely hot the constant breeze was enough to cool the air enough so the heat wasn't uncomfortable. Akataru's skinny body wasn't of much help seeing as he focused more on speed then strength, this made it a bit of a challenge to be hauling around the heavy carts of supplies. Dropping the cart off near the woodworker Akataru immediately let go of the handle and headed over to another cart.
The second cart was a good deal heavy since it was filled with metal ore instead of the lumber. Sighing once more Akataru heaved the worn wooden handles up a little above his waist and headed towards the blacksmith. The gentle wind shifted as Akataru began to pant and walk with the cart. Striking the hot metal of a blade the blacksmith's hammer let out a loud crack with every collision. Still pulling the heavy cart behind him Akataru pushed everything out of his mind as he focused all of his strength in his legs and arms. Heading up the hill the cart's wheels squealed as it reached the top. Akataru dropped the materials before looking toward the blacksmith. "Here is your supply." He told the man with a soft grin on his face, proud that he had gotten the cart to it's destination.
Akataru began to walk back to the center of the village as the blacksmith stared up to the sky. "You're late..." The heavy set man grunted, his eyes still focused on the white hot metal he was working on. "That's not my fault!" The rather thin warrior blurted out as he turned to face the blacksmith once more. He had gotten the cart to the hill hadn't he? If he new the man wasn't going to appreciate the help he wouldn't have delivered the ore. "Sort them..." The bulky man still held a calm tone as he brought his plunged the hot metal into water before placing it in a barrel of several already finished swords. The blacksmith grabbed yet another blazing hot blade and began to work on it as he waited for his 'helper' to sort the ores.
Akataru gritted his teeth and bit his tongue as he heard the man's order. Not wanting to start anything when he should be helping rebuild the village the man quickly grouped the ore into barrels around the blacksmith. While he didn't know much about ores he took his best guess, sorting them mostly by colors. Placing the last of the ores in a barrel Akataru hurried off before the man could observe his work.

While I'm waiting to finish the application tell me what you all think. While I had a lot of time to plan the history I still think it is lacking. Anyway bring the responses on and don't be scared to tell the truth...even if it harsh. LINK

Since I have nothing else to do I decided I would leave a little Greeting thread. Anyway I'm glad to find a decent site that is still up and running. Anyway I am a big fan and am planning on staying for a LONG time. I credit myself to be an okay rper and really enjoy character development more then anything and therefore enjoy playing out things over just telling about them. That said I was wondering where I would post request for some characters I would like to have for my character's development.

Name: Zeruko Akataru Faction: Takeda Ethnicity: Japanese Age: 18 Gender: Male Height: 5' 8" Weight: 120 pounds Eye Color: Icy Blue Hair Color: Black Appearance: Akataru is quite a small young male, only standing at 5'8" and weighing 120 pounds. He is also very slender and lean since he favors speed over strength. He had black spiky hair that reaches the nape of his neck and usually hangs below his ice blue eyes. Along with the rest of his young features he also has a flawless face, seeing as he hasn't seen battle his face along with the rest of his body hasn't been scarred by combat. Personality:[Aloof]: Akataru isn't a very friendly person. He usually likes to be alone and just have some quiet time to himself. However this doesn't mean that he doesn't enjoy having friends around him. He simply would much rather have some time to himself. [Arrogant]: The young warrior might be friendly and skilled, but he tends to let his ego run wild. He thinks of him rather highly and shows this in casual conversation and combat alike. This is the one thing that tends to hold him back quite often. Akataru isn't above arguing or insulting a higher ranked soldier. [Loyal]: While the young man is quite hard to befriend his friendships and bonds should not be taken lightly. He would give his life to anyone that he had grown attached to. It doesn't matter if he were to go against his commander he would stick up for his friends. Also he tends to side with the people he has had time to bond with in discussions. [Persistent]: If Akataru sets his mind to something he tries his hardest to do it. Being the task a challenging fight or a small errand he would see it through no matter what. This is one of the reasons that he has become the great swordsman that he is today. [Intelligent]: When it comes to strategizing or debate Akataru takes his time and thinks of every possible answer. He often waits until the last second to decide what to do so he can give as much thought to the situation as possible. History: Zeruko Akataru was born along with his twin sister, Zeruko Keiko, in Matsuyama Castle in the year 1542. He was born to an honorable Warrior, Zeruko Tataku. Being from Iyo, Shikoku his father had strong ties to the Chosokabe empire. Akataru's family had a rich history with Chosokabe's seeing as most of his ancestors served the empire. His father died at the age of 42 while in battle. As for his mother she died after giving birth to Akataru's youngest sibling, Nabuko. While the Zeruko clan has a strong bond with the Chosokabe clan they are not their strongest. Their relationships with the Date clan is even stronger. This alliance came from the several years that his family supported the Date clan before they moved to Shikoku. While Akataru doesn't know any of the Date clan directly he praises the clan and would refuse to fight against them just like he would the Chosokabe clan. Even know he doesn't know any of the Date clan they certainty would know him from his father. With these strong bond however the Zeruko clan has formed rivalries. These so called rivals are the Kadekun clan a clan that currently resides in Kansai. While the two clans hate each other their rivalry has been set aside since Akataru left Shikoku. Even know that the rivalry has been set aside it has not been forgotten and still burns red hot. Although Akataru is one of the most skilled swordsman of his clan still alive he is not the only one. He has four siblings two brothers named Nagenaga (22) and Nabuko (16), along with two sisters named Keiko (18, his twin) and Mitsuki (20). All of his siblings' whereabouts are unknown except Nabuko, his little brother. Nabuko currently lives in the province of Kai. While he knows where his brother lives they still do not have much contact. Akataru spent his early life training in the art of the sword. While he did other things such as helping his family with work around the house he would immediately go back to training after he finished. This lead to his father later paying one of his fellow swordsmen to train him. This continued until Akataru was sixteen after that he decided to leave Shikoku and move to Kai. Once he go to the province he spent a few years doing odd jobs to make yen. When he finally got bored of looking for these odd jobs he decided to join the Takeda. He hasn't seen battle yet, but he has shown promise and is hoping to see some action.
