"... Yes, but only because the ex-bandit leader had grown stronger in the period between then and now. But I had no intention of killing him, simply beating him in a fight. And I suspected as much, so you could understand my hesitation in telling you my full name. I am General Sanada Genjirou Yukimura, of Lord Takeda Shingen's faction. I did not know then you were well met with Takehiro-san back when I helped you, but regardless of if you were well acquainted with Takehiro-san and the ex-bandit chief under his command or not, I still would have saved you."
Lifting his right arm up, he would hold his right fist over his heart, in response to Brandt's salute to him, his expression just as set as hard as flint as Brandt's was. He required no thanks for his deed, for it was enough for him that Brandt would speak to Takehiro on the matter and help Yukimura achieve the redemption he sought.
"... You have my thanks [Br-Br-Brandt Solveig.]"
His face at first still as expressionless as before, a smile would then appear on his face, and it was clear that Yukimura had made a conscious effort to say Brandt's name as clear as he could in English.
"Here, your meat skewer is ready, straight from roasting over the fire. Careful, it is hot, but it will taste the best freshly cooked."
Handing over one of the skewers to Brandt, the other in his other hand, Yukimura would take a bite from his. Yukimura did not believe in luck, but he did believe in hope. And he also believed it had been the intention of the Gods for him to meet and save Brandt, so he could tread down the path of redemption he so desperately sought.
