Post by Tokugawa Iemasa on Mar 20, 2014 18:29:42 GMT -7
Due to the marriage between Azai Nagamasa and Lord Nobunaga's sister Oichi, the two factions had an alliance. Recently, Iemasa was sent by Lord Nobunaga to discuss details of the alliance with two of Azai's retainers, men referred to as Kuroyasha and Shiroyasha, the Shinrai brothers. Iemasa would be waiting at a tavern in Owari, seated at a table with three jugs of sake as an offering of goodwill. It was about time for the men to show up, and if they didn't, Iemasa was going to walk into Omi and pull the bastards over here himself.
Let's hope it didn't come to that.

Shinrai Sagi, otherwise known as the Shiroyasha, a strategist for the Azai, would be entering Owari discreetly alongside his brother Sakkaku. The two were given a place to meet an officer of the Oda, and so they would arrive exactly on time. Any later and they would seem unreliable, any earlier and they would seem overeager.
Entering the bar, Sagi's eyes would scan the room for the officer they were to meet. Tokugawa Iemasa was his name, and his description made it seem like he would stand out, and stand out he did. Sagi would seat himself at the table with the man, and Sagi would pull the hood he wore back from his head, revealing his white hair and blue eyes.
"Tokugawa Iemasa, I presume?"

Sakkaku walked alongside his brother as they entered the bar. He wasn't one to drink normally, but today they were here on official business. They were to help secure relations between the Azai and the Oda, and it seemed that Azai Nagamasa trusted the Shinrai brothers enough to give them the task of being his emissaries.
The man sat silently next to his twin brother, bringing his hood down and revealing his black hair and red eyes. No words needed to be said, not at this time.

Iemasa's eyes would fall onto the two men as they approached and took their seats, taking a moment to react as he observed them. White hair and blue eyes, black hair and red eyes... twin brothers, but completely opposite in that regard. It was strange to consider how that even worked, but it wasn't something he was going to spend all his time on.
"Lords Shinrai," he began, bowing his head. A jar of sake would be offered to the two men. "I trust your travel here has not been unpleasant?"
Starting off with pleasantries. Small talk. He didn't want to impose, of course.

Sagi smiled at the man for the offer, but shook his head. "I appreciate the gesture, but I must politely decline, Lord Iemasa." The jar of sake would slide toward the center of the table and away from himself. "Rare as it may be, my brother and myself are not sake men."
Sagi looked to his brother, a small amount of irritation in his eyes at the man's small talk. For the most part, however, he appeared calm. He just wanted to get to business.
"I am told we need to discuss certain specifics regarding the alliance between our forces."

Sakkaku gave a small smile, waving his hands. "Ahh, no. As my brother said, we are not drinkers."
He looked over to his brother, returning that same look, but only briefly. He looked back to Iemasa, crossing his hands on the table. His red hues examined the Oda officer curiously, wondering what kind of man he was. He seemed pleasant enough...
"We wish to be sure that the conditions are favorable on both ends, of course."

"Of course! Understandable," he replied, rather confused. Most people preferred sake in these lands. The Aai were... something else. But, they were here on business.
"We'd like to discuss the freedoms of moving through each others' territory, for starters."
He left it rather vague, he realized, but he was sure they'd understand why. He didn't want to divulge every detail if he was just going to get a "no".

Sagi's brow furrowed. The man was being extremely vague, though it definitely didn't seem like he was lying. Shiroyasha sighed, leaning toward the table and looking Iemasa in the eyes rather sternly.
"I trust you will not be stationing any troops within our territory, if this is to be considered. Only moving them through, yes? Because I can assure you, no one will trust having your men within our territory, battle-ready at a moment's notice, under the ruse of "peace.""

Sakkaku's eyes narrowed a bit, but he kept a friendly tone as he spoke.
"Indeed. As our Lord Nagamasa is married to Lady Oichi, it seems prudent to allow troops to pass through each others' lands... but as my brother said, we would not be content if the Oda were stationed in Omi. And just as fair, we would not station troops in Owari."
