Susano'o Trials (Katsumi)

[Shinomori Katsumi]

Damn! They steered out of the way. Katsumi grit her teeth and inhaled deeply, extending her arms and creating gusts to make the cannon balls veer off course. Some of them were really close calls. Too close for comfort.

"Ready the cannons!" exclaimed the woman.

They would fight fire with fire... and wind. Lots and lots of wind. Inhaling deeply, if the cannon fire wouldn't do any good, the woman would create whirlwinds which resulted in waterspouts, and have them crash into the other ships because fuck you, pirates! Dx

[Uesugi Kenshin]

Katsumi's Musou would prove useful in pushing the cannonballs away from the ship, while her own cannons would tear into the enemy ships while they were distracted by her use of wind! One of the ships began to sink, while the other one was in still in somewhat of a fighting condition!

She had to decide what to do quickly though, as another rogue wave was approaching from the left side!

Right now, they couldn't afford to attack the remaining ship, as there was another rogue wave. Using the wind, she maneuvered them again so that they were facing the wave, hoping that maybe they'd get lucky and the wave would demolish the pirate ship.

"Everyone hold on!"

Katsumi would manage to save the people on the ship, once more maneuvering to keep safe from the rogue wave! The wave would destroy the pirate ship, who would not be able to change course as fast as the wind wielding archer!

While a little beat up, there wasn't much left to hinder Katsumi!

She would again go towards where she believed the land to be. Kat was determined they would make it through this, whether it meant collapsing in exhaustion or not.

[Uesugi Kenshin]

The storm would seem to dissipate, and they would see land in the distance. The sun would shine through the storm, as if telling Katsumi she had succeeded. The men began to cheer, and Katsumi would find herself warped back into her own world, feeling much stronger than she did before. In addition, she would find a new ring on her finger.

Susano'o Trial IV
Shinomori Katsumi would once more be pulled into another realm. She'd wake up next to a fatally ill Haji, and if she checked around the village, she would see that everyone around was sick. They had been bitten by an extremely venomous snake, but no such antidote exists to remedy their ailment! It turns out there are giant snakes roaming about the village, large enough to swallow a person whole! Perhaps Katsumi, being the only one in good health, would be the key to saving everyone?

Task: You are tasked with slaying three giant snakes. They will appear when you least expect it, and will try to strike at you when your back is turned. While there is no set time limit, it is to be assumed that the faster you act, the less casualties there will be. The snakes will be considered to have stats 35 across all parameters, with 45 in Dexterity. You will not fail if bitten, but if you die, then you must repeat the entire trial. Good luck.

(OOC: Susano'o was the mythological slayer of Yamata-no-Orochi, who was a giant eight-headed snake. It's safe to assume he hates snakes, so yeah, haha.)

This entire situation was bad. Anxiety welled up within Katsumi upon waking up and finding Haji fatally ill. Upon searching his body, she found a bit that reminded her of a snake, but... it was much to large. When rushing out of their room to gather supplies to heal Haji, she found that Haji was not the only one. It seemed as though most if not all of the village was afflicted. After tending to Haji and getting an idea of what was going on from the mumbling of an afflicted villager, she left the building where Haji was and glared up at the sky, fists clenching at her side.

"Why are you doing this to me? This... it has gone too far," she hissed. To mess with Haji... it infuriated her. She didn't care about gaining more power. Not if it meant endangering her lover.

Katsumi leaped up with her wind onto the roofs of the buildings, searching for the creatures that hurt Haji and the others, bow and spirit at the ready. She wasn't going to let whatever it/they were finish the job or cause any further damage.

"Come out," she lowly growled, wind beginning to whirl around her quickly out of anger and in preparation, acting as a shield of sorts whilst she searched with her keen, dark eyes.

"Ka... Katsu.. mi-chan... be... be careful..." Haji would speak through pained breaths as Katsumi left their home. Whatever creature had done this had gotten the best of him, yet why wasn't she hurt?

As Katsumi climbed onto the rooftops to gain a better visibility, if she looked into the distance she could see something huge slithering into someone's home... it would soon be followed by the sounds of screams, crying for help.

Her eyes narrowed sharply at seeing a massive snake far off in the distance slithering into a home. Glancing from either side, Katsumi made her way over to it, jumping far each time, aided by the wind. The thing was huge and likely venomous so charging at it was unwise (and very unlike her in the first place.) Quietly Katsumi entered the building and she quickly wrapped a cloth around her whip sword, and lit it on fire after dousing it with liquor. Snakes hated fire, after all.

She would search for the snake and, if she found it, Katsumi would use the sword to whip/slash/burn (lol) the creature, shouting, "Get the hell away!"

Her plan was to get its attention and quickly exit the building, luring it out to the open, where she would have the advantage.

The snake would hear Katsumi coming, but it wouldn't strike out of fear of the fire she held. It backed away, whether out of fear or anger wasn't known, and hissed at her. As she exited the building, the snake would follow suit, lunging at her viciously! It planned to poison her as it did the rest of the villagers!

Good. It was following her. Upon exiting, she continued backing up until the snake began to slither out of the home. She brought her flaming whip sword to her hip, not needing it now, and she was safe since only towards the bottom was there fire. She needed both hands.

When it reared to lunge, a powerful gust of brought Katsumi swiftly upwards, and her body seemed to almost float, form as light as a feather. Dark hues narrowed sharply and the archer shot several times at the head of serpent. The gust brought her over to the roof of that house, and Katsumi lightly landed upon it, that is, if there were no enemies below on that particular surface.

The woman would be ready to move at a moment's notice.

Katsumi's arrows would pierce the serpent's head with enough force to slam it to the ground, it twitched, unable to move anymore. In height of its attack, it was left open to a killing blow from the archer!

If she listened closely, she'd be able to hear the sound of hissing, followed by another scream just under where she was standing! If Katsumi went to investigate, she'd find a person being swallowed whole by another snake!

"You won't be able to hurt anyone else now," murmured Katsumi as she killed the snake.

But there wasn't a moment to think or say much else, as there was hissing and screaming from below. So there were other serpents! Katsumi grit her teeth and dropped down from the roof, swinging inside through a window. The sounds came from down the hall and the woman sprinted towards it, skidding to a stop and kicking open a door.

Her dark eyes widened sharply upon catching sight of a snake swallowing a villager whole. They then narrowed sharply and Katsumi growled, rushing forward and removing her whip sword. Manipulating it to go into a hardened, blade form, Katsumi jumped up and swung down, hoping to sever the giant snake's head. The arrows could potentially hurt the woman inside, and cutting through its neck at this area would result in the villager being safe. At least, that was the hope.

"Let her go, you vile monster!" hissed Kat.

Haji was rubbing off on Kat after all.

The snake would be distracted by the villager that it was devouring, picking up on Katsumi at the last second, but would be unable to avoid her blade as it cut through the snake's neck, stopping the villager from melting to a disgusting pulp! The villager would crawl out of the snake, and there would be burn marks all over her body. It seemed the inside of the snake was very acidic, which made them even more deadly. The villager broke down crying in pain, but before Katsumi could do anything to try and help the villager out, the third snake would appear suddenly! It came as if out of nowhere, slamming its head into Katsumi and sending her through the side of the house, sending her outside! It planned to try and bite at her while she was down!

{Daw thank you. I can't... not be logical. It's so hard. xD Now if only I could get better at writing out fighting. ;-;}

The snake was distracted with eating, and her attack was successful. Fortunately the woman was safe, but there were burns all over her body, and Kat's eyes widened. What in the actual fuck?! As the woman cried, Katsumi inched forward, reaching her hand out. "Ma'm, let me-"

But she didn't get the chance to help with the wounds, because Kat was suddenly headbutted by another snake and flew out the window. "Umph!"] She encircled herself with wind, protecting herself from the wall of the other house. Of course, there would be at least bruises from that attack. She was hoping it wasn't any worse than that.

Slowly bringing herself to the wall, Katsumi's feet touched the exterior of the house and she used a strong gust of wind to almost jump really high in the air.

"I've had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane!" exclaimed the woman, removing her bow and readying herself to fire. If it appeared, she would shoot immediately.

Wait. What's a plane? Katsumi wasn't sure why she said that, but just kinda went with it.

(OOC: I'll do my best to help you with fighting. c: AND LOL THAT PLANE LINE.)

The snake was just as confused by Katsumi by whatever the hell a plane was, but as it appeared, it would avoid her arrows, slithering to the side! However, it didn't leap out at her, and instead, continued to travel along the village extremely quickly! It looked like it's new target was... her home! It was after the sick Haji!

It began to slither through house to house, making it difficult to strike as it wasn't in the open! And it was getting closer to her love!

Katsumi's brows furrowed. Why wasn't it attacking here? Why was the giant serpent slithering away? As she began to slowly fall back down, her dark eyes followed the path of the giant snake. Her eyes were searching for the answer, and after a few moments, her stomach knotted.

"N-No...!" she whispered. Katsumi felt sick. It was heading straight for where Haji and Kat were staying. The backs of her eyes prickled. She spat out, "F-Fuck you!"

She couldn't simply fire at the snake, as it went through household to household. But Katsumi used her musou to swiftly jump from house to house, ensuring she reached Haji's before it did. Landing on the inn, Katsumi used her musou to create a powerful whirlwind, ripping off pieces of the roofs and picking up whatever was on the ground or nearby, making the items go around and around at dangerous speeds. She was creating a barrier so that the snake would be unable to get inside and hurt her lover.

"You... aren't hurting Haji-kun!" shouted Katsumi, eyes narrowed sharply.

The barrier would work! The snake would look up at Katsumi, hissing angrily before retreating under another house. The sick Haji would look worse than before, not even acknowledging what was going on around him. His breathing was very heavy, and he was much more pale now. It seemed Katsumi didn't have much time until the poison claimed his life!

The whirlwind was tiring, but at least it worked! And that was all that mattered to her right now. But the giant snake retreated again, and Katsumi hissed in anger. She checked quickly on Haji and paled at seeing him in such a state. Tears brimmed in her eyes and Katsumi sniffled. "I... I promise I will p-protect you, Haji-kun. I'll... I'll ensure you make it through this. I... I p-promise."

Using a gust of wind to move objects to block off the entrances after resetting her blade on fire using the same strategy as before. Katsumi walked about warily, dark eyes warily searching her surroundings.

"Come out, you bastard!" she shouted. Normally, Kat wasn't one to talk much, but she was infuriated and didn't have much time left.
