Don't like any of the current factions? Tired of being a sword-for-hire? Want to make a difference in this world, and have people remember your name? Here is where you will find all of the information you need to know about raising your own banner!
REQUIREMENTS:
To raise your own banner, you must fulfill all of the following:
That simple!
RAISING YOUR ARMY:
From having your own faction, you get your own troops! Troops are gained solely based on the average of your base Strength and Wisdom. How this works will be shown below!
Say, for instance, we have someone looking to start a faction, and he has 30 base Strength and 20 base Wisdom. Take the average, so 30 + 20 = 50, 50/2 = 25 total for that.
For every one point in your average, you gain three average troops, and these troops have 10 in each stat category.
For every five points in your average, you gain one exceptional soldier, and these troops have 20 in each stat category.
For every ten points in your average, you gain one commander, and these troops have 30 in each stat category.
So, take into account the example we were using with our 25 average, we would have a total of:
This means for your average of 25, you have a total of 82 men in your army! Pretty neat, huh?
The size of your army is only affected by the top dogs in your faction. This means the Daimyo (you), your strategist/tactician if you have either, and any generals you may have, will add to your ranks using the same format. If you have three other people who hold high rank in your army, the four of you will add up your averages, and that will be how many troops you have. So if you've got four people with an average of 25, that's a total of 100! That's a LOT more troops right there, isn't it?
Training:
Once per month, you will be able to train your soldiers and improve their general stats! This will be done by doing a thread where you will actually train the soldiers. It will be a solo RP thread, unless you have other PCs in your faction. At which case, they will be doing the training with you, for the same goal.
Doing training will boost the stats of all of your soldiers in a specific category in your faction. To reiterate that, all of your normal troops will get a certain bonus, all of your exceptional troops will get a certain bonus, and all of your commanders will get a certain bonus, and this bonus will affect any troops you gain after the training has been done as well.
Put simply, say Nobunaga does a training thread. The reward for this is as follows:
The stats for Normal Troops bump up from all 10s to all 11s, and this applies to troops gained after training threads have been completed.
UNLESS YOU ARE IN YOUR OWN TERRITORY, YOU CANNOT CALL UPON YOUR ARMY IF YOU ARE NOT IN A MAJOR BATTLE. THE ONLY EXCEPTION TO THIS IS IF YOU HAVE A COMMANDER RANK SOLDIER WHO SERVES AS YOUR PERSONAL BODYGUARD.
Faction Bonuses:
Like every other faction, yours gains a bonus! It's a two-part bonus, consisting of anywhere from +3 to +5 stat points in the first half, and whatever special effect you want for the second half! These bonuses will need to be paid for, and the prices and information will be listed below!
Territory:
To establish yourself as a Daimyo, you must claim a territory. To do this, you must buy the land from another Daimyo, or take it by force or negotiation. Land will be expensive most of the time, and the prices will be listed in the Territories thread.
Territories will have a number of different bonuses you could utilize, depending on which one you get. They could give you money or materials such as steel, iron, gunpowder, etc., regularly. They may also require a fee for monthly upkeep. Pay attention when you go to claim your territory, and make sure it's one you want before you grab it!
If you wish to claim a territory as your own through purchase, post in your shop thread, and it'll be that simple! Just make sure you have enough money!
If you would like to claim a territory through battle or negotiation, fill out the form below and post in the Quests board. If you would take it by force, a member of staff will GM the battle for you, and, if you defeat the enemy Daimyo or the general they have stationed in that specific territory, it is yours to keep. If you are negotiating, a member of staff will GM whichever Daimyo you are looking to gain the territory of. You can use whatever means you wish, be it kindness or intimidation. If you succeed, it is yours. If not, battle will likely ensue.
BATTLE
As a Daimyo, you can do battle with other factions, be they player-run factions or GM-run factions for whatever reason. This may be acts of war or retaliation, or a means of obtaining more land. The faction who wins the battle takes the land the battle is in. If the winning faction is the one on the defensive, they keep their territory, and if it is the aggressor, they take it.
REQUIREMENTS:
To raise your own banner, you must fulfill all of the following:
- Have 30 BASE Strength or Wisdom(without items)
- Achieve a B Proficiency in Leadership
- Reach the rank of Samurai (150 Posts)

- The second half of your bonus will cost a flat 1500 yen, and can be a variety of things. It could be like the Oda's +12 Dex when wielding a rifle, the Takeda's +10 Con when mounted, or even the Hojo's ability to blend in with Shadows.
