Recently Lord Date decided to have his men partake in a tournament of sorts, and naturally, Keisuke jumped at the chance to improve his fighting skills. Everyone was expected to take part in it, and who could resist the chance to kick some ass and take names? Not to mention it could weed out who exactly was strong and who needed to step up their training. Both his arms resting on the pole of his giant war hammer that was draped over his shoulders, Keisuke would stick to the back of the group, but as one by one, many of the men had their asses handed to them, Keisuke decided it was time for him to take a crack at it. Stepping through the ring of people, he would enter into the ring, an easy-going smile on his face, despite seeing that his opponent was one of the larger, bulkier soldiers from another squad.
No matter, he wasn't frightened, and as he cracked his neck, the big man would charge at him, axe in hand, before bringing it down on Keisuke, aiming to hammer him into the ground with the flat side of the axe. Easily dodging the strike with little effort, as the man roared angrily and stomped towards him, Keisuke would slip to the side and end up behind the larger man and with an almighty swing, would slam the head of his hammer into the side of his head, not hard enough to injure him, but hard enough to knock him out. The larger man dropping like a sack of potatoes, after taking three grown men to drag him out of the ring, his next opponent, a taller, thinner man, who appeared light on his feet, stepped in, wielding a pair of kunai. As he would dart around the ring, he would manage to nimbly evade Keisuke's strikes, even forcing Keisuke to block his slashes with his hammer. But despite all his speed, Keisuke would out-smart him, and as the man came darting up from behind Keisuke, twirling his hammer in his hands, he would thrust his arms backwards, so the blunt end of the pole would slam into the man's stomach, knocking the wind out of him and causing him to grab at his stomach in pain as he fell to his knees.
Two down.
A third man would enter into the ring, roughly the same build and height as Keisuke, would swing the naginata he wielded at Keisuke, who would jump back to avoid the slice, as he swore a few strands of his hair was cut off. Now it was personal. As the man charged at Keisuke, thrusting his naginata rapidly to keep Keisuke on the defensive, he gradually grew tired of it, and would make his move. As the man went in for a fast thrust, Keisuke would quickly duck down and strafe to the side, before lashing out with a vicious kick to the man's side, sending him to the ground... hard. Instant knock out. And you thought Keisuke's hammer was ridiculous.
Three down.
Four more would enter soon after, but were no match for Keisuke, who quickly proved he was a force to be reckoned with. His string of victories only served to increase the support of his men, while lowering the confidence of those that thought him weak. Triumphant yet covered in bruises, he wasn't too badly hurt, another step was taken towards repaying Lord Date for his kindness.

"Are you sure warrior? We do not mind rebuilding our village ourselves."
"It is precisely why as a warrior of the Date faction, I cannot stand by and idly watch all of you rebuild your village, when it is our fault it was destroyed in the first place."
Holding a hand up as the village chief went to speak, Keisuke would motion to the men standing behind him to begin, as they would scatter to all corners of the village. Recently a civil war that had broken out had torn a nearby village apart, and as a part of Lord Date's faction, Keisuke felt it was only right that he go help rebuild this village, as the villagers were innocent bystanders caught up in the tides of war. With a small group of men at his back, Keisuke would make his way to the village, and offer what assistance he could to them. First things first, the huts needed to be rebuilt. Even if nothing else was done, at the very least, the villagers should have shelter for the night.
Though he was not the most muscular, he was surprisingly strong, and while the villagers chopped wood for the huts, he would lift the piles of wood and cart them to the huts that needed either repairing, or outright rebuilding. Much of the morning was taken up by this, and by the time the sun was high in the sky, signifying it was noon, though it was back-breaking and intensive work, a majority of the huts were back up and in better shape than before the civil war broke out. At least one good thing came out of this war. After taking a break to eat some lunch, Keisuke would rebuild the remaining huts, before moving on to re-plowing and re-plant the fields of crops that were damaged and trampled on. Concentrating deeply on the task, Keisuke may not be well-versed in the skills of a farmer, but the instructions given to him by the village farmers were simple and easy to follow. In no time flat, the field was plowed, and taking great care with the seeds, would go to plant them. Though the task was menial, almost boring, there was also something oddly satisfying about it. It was probably because with the fields ready for growing, these villagers wouldn't starve. They would survive.
After taking a small break, he would help with rebuilding the village gate, as it had been knocked down and broken in half from the soldiers marching through the village with little disregard to it. Placing the logs needed for the gate down on the ground, Keisuke would set out and work on carving out not only the name of the village on the top log of wood, he would also assemble the gate together, and with the assistance of the villagers, would raise it up, and hammer the top pole to the arch poles. Satisfied with his work, as the day came to an end, though he was exhausted and worn out from the long day's work, the villagers, in immense appreciation for his help, would provide meals and a bit of rest for him and his men, before they took their leave, returning back to their home.

Name: Ikeda Keisuke Faction: Date Ethnicity: Japanese Age: 24 Gender: Male Height: 6'2" Weight: 190 lbs Eye Color: Black Hair Color: Black Appearance: Keisuke is tall and well-built, though he is built more for speed and striking quickly than just pure power alone. Keisuke has toned pectoral muscles that lead down to his developed six-pack. His arms are toned and are more muscular than his legs, while his legs are toned and have a bit of muscle. Keisuke has medium length black hair that spikes slightly, and piercing black eyes. Personality: Keisuke is generally laid-back but can be hot-tempered at times. Although he gives off the impression of being irresponsible, Keisuke is in fact, resourceful and has a strong sense of justice. To repay Date Masamune for his kindness, Keisuke vowed to become strong and protect his Lord. Keisuke prefers using skill and logic to make up for not being academically gifted. He is generally idealistic, and tries to do what he believes is best. He is however, very straightforward with his thinking and capable of acknowledging his own mistakes. He will also go great lengths to help or protect his friends. History: Keisuke was born into a small village, his father the chief of the village and a powerful warrior, whose job was to protect the village and its people, while his mother stayed at home to take care of him. Under his father's supervision, Keisuke was trained in Kenjutsu, his father eager to see his surpass him in skill. Keisuke's ambition was to become stronger, not for the sake of being strong, but so he could use his strength to protect the people of his village and his parents. When Keisuke became a teenager, about fourteen, his father was away most of the time to fight in a civil war that erupted. Before his father left however, he told Keisuke to protect his mother at home and told him that he should always use his strength to protect the ones he loves. Days later however, three samurai from his father's army came back, seriously injured, one of them carrying the Mon of their family, that his father had been given from his father's father, Keisuke's grandfather, the former chief of the village before he had died when Keisuke was eight. As soon as Keisuke saw the Mon, he knew his father was gone, and was never coming back. His mother, at first, seemed to be her normal self, but in reality, she was falling apart with his father gone. One night, when Keisuke was sixteen and asleep, his mother slipped out, and disappeared. The next morning, the villagers found her body washed up on the shore, she had drowned. He took his mother's body and buried it on the hill overlooking the village, and also burying their family's Mon with his mother, since his father's body was never found. A few years later, the civil war had escalated, and one by one, villages were ravaged and left in ruins because of it, Keisuke's village included. With no one left to take care of him, Keisuke would've ended up becoming a thief, until he was found by Lord Date Masamune himself, who took on and single-handedly defeated a group of six thieves who tried to steal what little gold Keisuke had on him. Grateful to Lord Date for aiding him, Keisuke decided to repay him by voluntarily joining his faction, lending what skills he had to the One-Eyed Dragon.
