Gabriella would look back, and notice that the women she had been guarding was trying to escape however there was little reason to go after a single person and would let her. Hopefully the women was smart enough to just run away. Gabriella would instead ride to catch up with Maki and would follow his lead.
The day was starting to were how down, and she hoped that this battle would come to a close quickly. Maybe then she could get her hands on some of the drink the Imagawa had all got drunk off. If they were engaged on the way to cuting off the Imagawa, Gabriella would hold her shots, and only fire a targets that had manage to react and could possibly be about to strike out at one of the Totomi.

Gabriella arrived late to the field. Head spinning slightly for too much the night before. Finding out what was expect of them from another. She was actually glad at the moisture in the air. She was already dehydrated and while the water sapped heat from her, it revitalised her slightly at the same time. She lined up and started the run alongside the other men. It wasn't that she was a soldier that she had decided to take part. But that she didn't want to let the other men of the Totomi think that she was weak.
She pushed herself to run, she was slower then other she knew. She staggered, she panted and her head pounded worse then her arm, but she wouldn't let that stop her. Her kimono slowly getting soaked by the water in the air as she ran through it, plus sweat from forcing herself to do so. Eventually she reached the other side and started the run back. It was then, as the wetness of the air faded, a sapping feeling, like she was drying out. She glared at the Daimyo and Toshi. This weather was unnatural and one of them had to be to blame.
As the wet air turned moisture-less, she cursed once more. Her head pounding worse. She needed a drink badly, ad for once she meant just water. Not a drop of alcohol until her system could recover. Pushing herself on however, she hoped that once she finished one of the men leading the exercise would take pity on her. Crossing the line, she felt like a wreak. She wasn't build for this, she thought slowly letting herself sit down on the ground. She didn't care if her kimono got dirty for it, right now she didn't at least.

Gabriella noticed Maki break off from the attack on the tower and looked to see why. A patrol had come by and way trying to flee. "Crap." She muttered to herself. "Stay here" She growled down at Jina, before jumping back on top of her horse. Riding closer, she moved her horse so she could get a clear shot at the patrol. Before raising her gun, and shooting for the legs. She couldn't risk a man being able to run still if that shot wasn't a lethal one.

(OOC: sorry for the wait. Been busy the last few days.)
Gabriella weakly smiled as Maki told her that she was the most important person in his life. While telling her to note that the changes in the land would be down to he, while she remained with the Amakusa. "Thank you." She managed to force herself to say again. She knew that she was important to Maki, but to say she was the most important was unexpected.
"I will, I promise . Don't worry I'll keep it safe." She promised him. Not only would she keep it safe but treasure it like no other possession. "Just promise you'll keep yourself safe. Promise me you will come back." She told him. She knew that he had already implied it. But she needed to hear him promise it straight out for her peace of mind.

Gabriella saw as the combined forces of the Oda and Amakusa, ripped apart what was left of the Imagawa soldiers. Lowering her gun she would aim it down again at Jina. If they were moving on in order to take the tower, Gabriella would make sure she didn't escape. As it seemed the soldier were to involved in moving to take a nearby tower. Casually she would lean back into her horse. Watching Maki go to work. If she needed to step in again she would do so, for now she would watch over him, as he did for her.

Gabriella would listen, reassured by Maki explanation that he would still be watching over her. Letting Maki place the jade necklace over her head. He hadn't told her who the necklace belonged to, but Gabriella could make a reasonable assumption based on the sentiment. Her hand would reach up and carefully hold the necklace. Tear slowly falling out of her eyes, some being caught by Maki's hand on her cheek.
She said nothing, only stood there holding the necklace. She want to tell him no. To tell him that he shouldn't give her the necklace. That he should keep it. However she couldn't bring herself to do so. The gesture was too meaningful. Making her happy to the core. No one had given her anything but her father. And even that had been more of a gesture of throwing money at a disrupted child, then a healthfelt gift.
"Thank you."

Gabriella looked at Maki face suddenly at what he said, it took her by surprise. It had been because of Maki that she had left the Oda. Left her father behind, not that he was actually around much. And now Maki was just going to up and leave the Amakusa. She couldn't help being slightly annoyed, but the sentiment of what Maki said, was quite true.
"I'm...I'm not quite sure what to say." Gabriella said hesitantly. "I can't..can't keep moving and leaving groups behind after you. Lord Amakusa is fair, his people good. They don't judge me out of respect, to what there Lord agreed to when you joined." Gabriella said seemingly toar up between the two path in front of her.
"I will always be here. Wherever you go I will get guard so that I visit. And you better do so to." Her words were picking up speed and confident in what she was saying again. "Maybe one day, when the world is calmer. That when only those evil me you mention hide or run as they no longer rule the land. Then. Then I'd feel like I could leave these people behind in there safety to help you in your goals." She explained, knowing that while Maki would go after people in the wrong, war could bring greater death and destruction The crime did.

Gabriella was amused by the display of discussing tactic, with sake cups and jugs providing a visual aid. She wondered how many meeting about tactic for war had been made in the presents of large amounts of alcohol. Probably quite a few, which wasn't the smartest thing to do. She wondered how many of those meeting had actually lead to victory.
"Well as total a victory can be in war." Gabriella would reply with a smile. She doubt that any tactic or large numbers could lead to a victory with absolutely no losses on your side. That would be a total victory in her mind. Only diplomacy had the chance for a lossless win and even then it wasn't guaranteed.
"Well it has been a pleasure meeting you Chimosa-san. Though I should really go rest. Hit my arm harder then I thought I would today." Gabriella would say standing before giving Hake a bow. She would await Hake reply, before making a good attempt to not stagger as she left.

Gabriella didn't really agree with Maki, he didn't need the beast, but she understood. She admired that even knowing that it may not be the best for him, it could be used to help others. A figure of intimidation, much like the rumours that surrounded Lord Amakusa rise to power. If those rumour moved into legend there would be no one who would want to face the Totomi, and risk the ire of Takehiro and Maki.
"I won't tell another soul. You're willing to show me. That enough in my book." Gabriella would say, nodding at Maki. "Just don't be afraid to drag me off in to some secluded corner....if there is something you need to get off your chest that is." Gabriella would offer, the break permeated with a smirk.

Gabriella would circle round with her horse, firing at any one else who tried to flee the area. Walking past those she had already help dispatch. She was shocked to find someone among them still alive. Another women by the horse. It must have been the rider, that hand even got back up.
Pointing her gun down at the women, Gabriella was about to pull the trigger to finish them off but instead, would dismount and pin one of her arms to the floor with a foot. "Move and I will kill you." She would order, before pointing her gun back to the battle. To deal with anyone coming there way.

Gabriella couldn't help but be amused by Hake rolling the foreign word around. It was nice to here another soul using her language again. She hadn't since the last time she had seen her father. Before she had left and joined the Amakusa. She wondered how he was. Was he even still in the country or had he left on one of his ships once more.
"It did pay of I'll admit." Gabriella replied, thinking about what she would have done different because of the question. Well the alleys had been a way of funnelling the enemy but it wasn't good enough. "Maybe have both groups meet in the centre of town. Have the archers lay down in wait on the roofs, while the troops hide in a few of the buildings. Wait until your men had arrived and crush them on to founts by surprise. Well if the people lives had truly been at stake, wouldn't want to have disturbed them for just a training exercise." Gabriella would explain, gesturing with her cup and drinking between sentences.

Gabriella continued the hug, as Maki bared forth more emotion. It was slightly unsettling to see the strong man show such emotion. "Yes we're not alone." Gabriella would mutter into his shoulder before breaking the hug. "However I'm still going to help you." Gabriella said raising her voice from the muttering to be clearly heard. "You may be capable of pushing aside the desire of vengeance." She would start to explain. "Justice." She would finish not really explaining what she meant.
What she meant that while, Maki may grow from this not be ruled by anger any more or as much. Those...Those that delivered on to him such lost, such pain. They still deserved what came to them. It would not be a act of vengeance but one of justice. As long as the large man managed to keep it aside. To not make it his only driving force in life, she knew that it wasn't any more, then if the day came that he cut down those who had taken from him. Then a blight on the world that needed cutting aside, would be gone. "However it isn't just me that need your protection. The people of Totomi deserve it just as much for the kindness they have shown us. To prevent them from ever having to grow up in such pain you have felt." Gabriella would tell him. Looking over to where she had come from and the Totomi village in the far distance.

Gabriella like Hake style. Keeping the cups full at all times before raising a cup in toast. However Gabriella hadn't heard the word he ended his toast with before. assumed it had something to do with given them. "Indeed, Saúde." She said toasting in her native tongue. Raising her glass and knocking the drink back quickly. It seemed odd for her to toast with the word. It meant health, though she noticed not good health. Maybe the tradition people knew that drinking could probably be bad or good for the system of the body.
Gabriella listened as Hake mentioned about the logistics, of contacting him in the future for such a event. It was quite bad. If only she had some control over a 'courier' of some description in the area of Japan. Ahh well no matter. She leaned in concerned when Hake started coughing, but it was brushed aside by his next comment. "We've all done that before." She said with a laugh, leaning back once more.
"Well a split them into two teams on the main road, with some patrols on the outskirts of town. The gun shout was to put them on alert when we first saw the majority of your forces, before I could get a messenger down to them in order to reinforce us." Gabriella explained what she had done. "I am slightly surprise that you split your force three ways however, but impressed you managed to resist the main road until the fighting had really kicked off." She admired slightly. Splitting his forces with one of his groups so small could have lead to it being crushed quickly if she had been a better leader.

Seeing the emotion in Maki that was anger for once was odd. She had seen perhaps pleasure in death and a desire to be stronger, and obviously his protective streak for her. But nothing like what stood in front of her now. " Would she be proud of what I have become? " The question shook her. She didn't really know what to say. She didn't know his mother, but she doubted a mother could be proud of someone living purely for revenge. However he wasn't anymore. "In the past maybe not. But as you are now, she'd be smiling I'm sure." She said. She couldn't bring herself to lie and say that she would have always of been proud of him.
" I won't let them hurt you like they hurt her, Nobody will be able to hurt you anymore! " "And that why she would be. I am." Gabriella would say, before the first time in a long time doing something she probably should. Forcing every ounce of strength into her bad arm to move it fractionally so that rather then hang at her side is grip to Maki, as she pulled him into a hug. "Without you. I'd be wasting away. Surrounding by uncaring fool. What matters is that we stand side by side." She said, emotion mixing with pain and causing her to cry gently into the larger man shoulder. |

Gabriella listened to Hake story intently. Learning by adversity, not a bad way to learn something, except the baggage it could bring. Did make sense thought that she had lost. Hake obviously had more experience tactically from his story while she was just going off of instinct and book smarts. Drinking quickly, she accepted the drink when offered , but was then shocked at Hake's question about the man she had followed in to the Totomi's services. Pressing the sake cup to her lips but not drinking she momentarily thought about how to answer.
"Yes he is, strong to, but that wasn't why I followed. He...He was the first person who looked pass my issues, looked passed orders, but still...still want to protect me. In my mind, I've never met a kinder man. To me at least. Though I'd advise that if you ever met him you don't push that point. He can be extremely rough around the edges as it were."
Gabriella drained her drink, and poured another. The pair were quite quickly going through what they had, which was good in Gabriella mind. The happy dull feeling it brought blocking out her own pain. Smiling she leaned back where she sat. "Well down the line, if I plan anything like this again. I know who to look for." Gabriella mused aloud. |

Gabriella sat down and await the sake pouring them out the drinks before she got round to answering Hake. "Well it more unofficial then anything else. I joined the men here because of someone else that did. Really though I think it comes down to knowing the men." Gabriella replied carefully drinking her drink. "What motivate them and things like that." She continued putting her drink down, trying to stop herself from drinking to quickly and being rude to Hake. Even though the pain in her body cried out for more.
"Know what your men want, because when you lead them into a crisis that they don't agree with. Well there ain't going to fight as hard as they probably could." Gabriella said looking over to the door, imagining the men. "Well unless you are ruthless I guess. But Lord Amakusa isn't. Strong yes, possible willing to happily kill those who would the men here harm, but not ruthless to the men of Totomi." She said not knowing how much Hake knew about the Daimyo of these lands. "I'm more interested in where someone like you learned to lead. You don't often see travelling strategist really. I hadn't really expected someone to answer my notice for quite some time." She smiled as best she could at him. Before picking up her drink and continuing to drink it.

It had been a long day. Her arm ached, she hadn't been able to get her hand on a drink for the last few hours, and that wasn't helping things. However there was something else on her mind, that had prevented her from doing so. Maki was no where to be found in the village. It had taken time, asking around. No one knew where he had gone but, eventually she found someone who at least seen where he had been going. Getting her horse, she though briefly if she get someone to act as a guard while she tried to find him, but decided against it.
Riding out of town in the direction told, she managed to track him down. Standing looking away from where she was, some ways out of town. Dismounting she slowly approached him silently. Hoping to test him. See how alert he was, but however as she grew closer something seemed off about him. He didn't seem like normal. He was shaking slightly almost unnoticed, like he was laughing but silently.
Slowly she would walk out from behind him, and see his face as she did. See the fact that he was ever so gently crying. Gabriella blinked, expecting it to have been a trick of the light. The man in front of her, always seemed so strong and while not in control, he was normally filled with anger. "Maki what's wrong?" She asked gently concerned and confused, getting his attention. Carefully she reached up her arm, and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You can tell me." She said trying to reassure him.

Gabriella couldn't help cringing, not only as her name was once again slightly mispronounced, but it was mostly due to the sight of the dropped money. How could someone reactions not be good enough to catch a pouch, into not like she had been trying to make the man miss it. Letting money fall to the ground, could get it stolen. Well not here it wouldn't the people of Totomi were mostly up standing, Takehiro wouldn't have it differently.
"Certainly. I'm always up for a drink." Gabrella said with a laugh at the offer. "Though you may have notice that already." She said continuing to laugh. "I almost thought I was going to win for a while. But you out positioned me. Come on that drink sounds good." Gabriella would congratulating Hake in her own way, fore turning and leading the way back to the sake house.

Gabriella would watch as the brawl eventually came to a end in the favour of Hake side of the conflict. Gabriella would approach over. "Alright that's enough everyone. Go gather up the fallen and help them nurse of their coming headaches." Gabriella would order to the men, the battle was done and there was no reason not to order them any more.
Looking around, Gabriella would find where Hake was before approaching him. "Congrats Chimosa-san." She would say fumbling in her clothes for a pouch of coin. She would toss it towards the man. "There is a fair payment. You won you deserve it." She would tell him with a smile. Hoping that she could twist things when Takehiro heard about to make the men sound better at defending the town then they had been.

Gabriella would finish off tying her wound, looking up at the two other fighters seemingly getting read for more trouble. She personally would have like to escape, to have bit more of a break then she suspected they would get. However it seemed she was out voted as it were.
Ready once more, still slightly worried. She pulled her gun to the ready to continue fighting.

Much like Hake archers, with the immediate threat in front of the Gab's archers dropped bows and drew short sword in order to try and defend them selves. They would gold back the enemy between them and her soldier from along as they could before they felt. Hopefully managing to inflict some form of losses before they did fall.
However attacked from the inside and flanked on the outside Gabriella formation started to crumble, and the current battle turned more from military action, to that of a bar room brawl. Formations breaking down. THis was starting to reach it's conclusion it seemed. Gabriella men gripped weapons and pushed by desperation lashed out and attack, where they could a final stand against Hake forces.

Gabriella watched as Lord Amakusa and Maki moved to take on two of the enemy forces that seemed to have been doing better then other of the enemy had been. Glancing over the battlefield, and the wall that Takehiro had called. The where men staggered and sick. Among them was also a horse, and another women who had been thrown off it.
Aiming her Gabriella would open fire on those near the wall. She didn't know how long the wal would be able to remain cutting off the enemy from fleeing. However at any point someone mounted the horse, Gabriella would change her aim to fire at them, man or women. If the wall did dropped and someone was on horse back, they could possible get away to quickly.

Gabriella watched taking in the battle below. Hake men were going after the archers down there, as if nothing else would matter. Then a idea blossomed in her. A battlefield would always have losses, it was obvious. However a good starergist could decide what those losses would be, and what price the enemy would pay to inflict them. As HAke men would once again turn attempt to get at the archers through the men what gabreilla would shout next would probably take the man by surprise. "SIDE STEP LET THEM THROUGH." Gabriella would shout her order.
Down on the ground the men would obey. Avoiding Hake men as the pushed forward and tried to charge the archer, only for Gab's men to turn round as the charged passed and attack them in the back. Yes the archers were going to get hit before her men could do the damage but, the losses such a attack could inflict on Hake men to was staggering. Down on the ground out of a alley, archers appeared and fired on them. Gabriella didn't see it in time to pull one of the archers to the ground, diving for the floor, not knowing that the archers were not aiming at her.

Forcing herself to her feet was a struggle. The pain in her legs making it harder to do so. Reloading her gun once back on her feet. Breathing heavily due to the hurting legs, she wouldn't move to attack the remaining creature. Trusting the other two do so, in order to keep her gun loaded and read for if more appear. Looking down at her legs, she notice her clothes where slashed and slightly covered in blood from both the creatures, and where their claws had crushed her legs and cut them up. While it hurt, the bleeding wasn't as bad as it could have been. It was mostly in one place on her legs, and would be reasonably easy to treat once they had reached some form of safety. Bending down she would tear at the already slashed clothes with one arm. Awkwardly starting to tie her wounds close. Annoyed at the breeze of her now bare lower legs.

Gabriella watched as her men became surrounded. They had more blades and spears while she had more archers. But in the current position archers weren't as good as men with swords and shields would have been. However the men knew they were going to become surround so didn't get surprised by the fact. At this point things were going to be a slog out.
The men defending the archers, would get pushed on all sides, Hake's men trying to break through the lines. However as they tried, Gabriella's own men would attack back. A swordsman would step up, shield coming under and pushing a spear up wards, before swing a sword low at the legs of the swordsmen trying to guard him. When those men falter or tried to block, one of Gabs spearmen would stab out under the emeny spear to into the swordsmen as well, pushing them backwards into the spearmen they were meant to be protecting.
However, Hake men out numbered hers, and where Gab's men blocked other got through the gaps. Also a slew of arrow aimed at her archers flew passed, the line. 2 Archers got hit by arrows and went down. Gabriella pointed for her two archers to fire down at those men getting passed the defensive line before they could cause to much hassle, but not fast enough to stop another 3 of her men going down. The archer remaining in the circle also drew bows and fired at those breaching the line as quickly as the could, hoping to take down the enemy before they could be reached.
