My eyes widened as Katsumi practically exploded on the guy. She tore straight into him, and seeing her this angry was entirely new to me. This guy has pissed her off this much to where she just couldn't hold back and be her normal, calm self.
After she had stormed out, I got up quickly to follow her, but the man's response to it all stopped me dead in my tracks. I faced the exit, my back to the man, but the way he was just laughing it all off infuriated me. My fists clenched tightly, and I resisted the urge to draw my blade on him.
"Listen to me..." I began to speak quietly, trying to contain my disdain for the man. "If you ever make our decision to help you turn into a regret, or if I catch you harming another person... I won't hesitate to cut you down myself." If he ever touched Katsumi, I would kill him.
"It's the people like you that make this world so terrible, and make others afraid to live out their lives. Rest assured, the next time we meet, it won't be as friends."
Maybe if I had cut him down right now, it'd save us a lot of trouble later. But there was no honor in that. I would not stain my honor nor my soul for this man. It wasn't worth it. And with that, I left after Katsumi, trying to catch up to her and calm her down.

I would hear clicking and notice Takehiro got trapped because of the plate he stepped on.
"TAKEHIAWWWWFUCK." My speech would turn halfway after noticing all of the traps in the room tripled in speed! "SANADA-SAN! WHAT DID YOU DO?!" I shouted back towards the entrance, trying to steel my will to get through these traps. But THE GOD DAMN PATH WAS NEARLY COMPLETELY GONE NOW!
Gulping, I would duck, crawling along the floor and dragging the chest with me as the arrows whizzed above my head. I would continue this until I reached the ceiling trap, at which point I would lay on the ground and wait to get an opening. But three times the speed was friggin' scary. Taking a deep breath, I would dive for it the moment the trap hit the ground and began to move upwards, crawling as fast as my little body could take me and hopefully making it across. I would continue to crawl until I passed the rest of the arrows, and then stand when the coast was relatively clear, carefully walking the rest of the way and hoping I didn't fall or drop the chest, until I was back with the other two.
if this succeeded that'd be swell

"I.. I.. I.. I.. I mean.. that is.."
I began to stutter on my words as Takehiro began to shout about Katsumi really being a woman. Even more so with him randomly shoving the chest into my hands. I began to scoot back towards the others with the chest in my hands.
"Takehiro... are you sure you're not on opium again?" I would ask, attempting to change the subject. I'd feel like Katsumi would be pretty upset if I gave away her identity, even by accident.
I made sure to watch my movements carefully as I walked back towards the entrance, moving past any ceiling traps with proper timing or ducking below any arrows as I walked, chest in hand.

One bandit fell to the floor, my gauntlet had smashed his face in and knocked him unconscious. I spun my dual blade around in order to parry incoming attacks before I slashed in front of me, slashing the stomaches of nearby bandits, non-fatally at least. I made it a point to not kill if I could help it.
Detaching my blades, I would sheathe one, instead pulling out my whip sword. As good of a time as ever to test this beauty out. I swung it forward at the leg of a bandit, wrapping it around his leg before pulling and throwing him to the side at another bandit. I instantly turned the whip into sword mode and blocked another bandit strike, kicking the man in the stomach and knocking him back before backhanding him.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the kid from before, fighting off bandits and holding his own. But it seemed bandits were giving him trouble too. I wasn't going to let someone die if I could help it. Another bandit approached the kid from behind, and I would quickly swing my whip out, grabbing the guy's arm as he rose it. I would then tug on it, pulling the guy back towards me as I rushed forward, slamming my knee into his back and punching him in the face to knock him out. Retracting my whip, I would walk over and stand near the red headed kid, my own red eyes looking around at the numerous bandits.
"You look like you need some help."
Hopefully, he wouldn't be too weirded out by a demon lookalike. That said, his weapon was pretty fancy. I doubted he was a novice.

I crouched down to give myself some more balance as the area around me collapsed. I waited a while, getting the pattern of the ceiling spike trap and would move forward upon an opening, crawling fast. I would also move along the narrow path, staying behind Takehiro enough to where he'd have ample room in case he had to move backwards for any reason.
"I, uh... yeah, that'd be quite something... haha..." Boy, his jokes were scary close. Wonder what else he'd have to say.

Katsumi's embrace felt nice. And it made me feel more confident, and safer, despite all the death machines whirling around me.
I would halt as Takehiro asked his question randomly, one of the arrows whizzing right by my face (them close calls). "G-gay? What?" I was honestly confused about why he would ask such a question. I mean, Katsumi was a... ohhhhh. Takehiro didn't know her identity yet, I had forgotten all about that.
I continued to advance towards the chest as well, being very cautious and watching my steps carefully. "It's really not what you think, Takehiro."

"Ahh, crap..." I spoke as I noticed all of the traps come out. No way was it going to be easy, but I didn't expect this. This definitely wasn't going to be fun. Hearing Yukimura's suggestion, I stabbed my dual blade into the ground to keep it there, drawing only my whip sword from my back.
"I'll go."
I left it at that, just in case Katsumi volunteered to go because she was uninjured or something. I didn't want to risk her going through her, it was too dangerous. I began to walk down the pathway cautiously, avoiding the razor-bladed walls and the spike traps. I also would proceed past the arrows with caution, either crawling or waiting between volleys, before proceeding.
I didn't want to get skewered. Shish-kabob Haji did not sound appealing to me.

"Oh dear Izanagi, it is hot today."
Maybe I shouldn't have been taking that God's name in vain, seeing as I actually met the guy, but man, it was sweltering. The sun beat down on me viciously, and I began to wish that I hadn't gone wandering again and just sat around in a nice, shady place. Sweat dripped down my forehead, and I wiped it away with my kimono sleeve as I continued to walk. I ended up finding myself in a market. "Perfect, I could probably get something to quench my thirst there..."
I wandered through the marketplace, noticing it wasn't so bustling as I expected it to be. I looked around all confused, people were running away, why? I walked in the direction the people were running from, stopping when I overheard someone speaking to another man. "Bandits..."
Hands slipped into my kimono to retrieve my dark mask, and I placed it on my face. My skin instantly turned as black as darkness, and my eyes shined a bright red. I looked like a demon running through the marketplace, but I figured I would aid these people. I pulled my dual blades out, conjoining them at the hilts and keeping it to my side as I ran.

As Katsumi checked up on me, I merely smiled at her and told her I was fine. Once we were out of here, then I'd worry about tending to my wounds better.
The chamber pulled us in, unsurprisingly, and we found ourselves in a room with a single, straight path. The Daimyo's chest was already in plain sight. Obviously a trap. Since the other two had all the trap-checking covered, I merely held my conjoined blades at the ready. Curiously, I did poke at the floor before us with the tip of the blade mostly because I didn't want to feel left out. ;^;

I looked around for a moment, seeing the great Maeda Toshiie himself approach me and state that he'll be my partner. It couldn't have been me, had to have been talking to Katsuie or something, right? Wrong. He actually picked me, and I was more than overjoyed.
"I am honored, Maeda-sama!" I stated, drawing one of my swords and holding it up near my face, blade facing Toshiie. Taking a moment to observe his stance, I would charge forward, thrusting my blade straight towards his chest level.

"You have my thanks, Takehiro." I bowed my head politely as he handed out extra loot. Equipping it all, I felt like I could take a direct hit from a boulder and walk it off... not that I wanted to try that or anything. Checking the equipment I looted from the last enemy I ha slain, I frowned as I noticed the boot blade was gone. Regardless, I felt consideralby stronger than I had been when we had first arrived here. My leg still hurt, but the wrap was holding up fine for now.
"If we can expect further strength from the last chamber, I don't see why not... I pray we do not find ourselves in as much danger as before though."
It was a hopeless wish to have. I still felt terrible for holding everyone back in the last chamber. A mistake I hoped to correct later, if not now.

I booked it as fast as I could, the entrance being right in front of us. I didn't want to be a Haji pancake today. I would dive as I neared the entrance, just to leave in a dramatic fashion. My injured leg wouldn't agree with it, but it was worth it!

I cowered as Katsumi went off at Takehiro. Holy crap, was she scary at times. I was so glad she never directed any of that anger at me... at least, she hasn't yet. The day that comes, I'll have to dig a hole in the ground and bury myself in it because no where on earth would be safe. Yeah, I was scared of my girlfriend.
"Agreed. I'm glad that you're fine, Takehiro. Let's be off before we say anything else."
No sense in arguing here. I didn't want to die while Takehiro was aimlessly nice and Katsumi was super pissed. I followed along again, weapon at the ready, even though everything now just seemed to be traps...

More traps sprung up, and it totally wasn't my fault. It's like some kind of randomly generated luck device was controlling everything. Yeah, had to be.
I'd continue to run for my life, opting to stay quiet after Katsumi yelled at us both. i'm sorry bby </3 and continued to follow Yukimura until we ran to a familiar area, only to hear a familiar voice. Looking down the path, I would see Takehiro... even futher decked out in awesome gear and running along without a care in the world.

I'd shout, being sure to stay as close to the middle as possible as I ran behind him. The discs were like RAAAAH I'MMA CUT YOU and I was like AAAAH PLEASE DON'T HURT ME. Yukimura would take the right path, and I followed behind, spotting a treasure chest. I'd jumped up to it, kicking it open and instead of reaching down and grabbing the item, I'd use my fancy whip and grab the item with a loud WAPOW! Grabbing whatever treasure was hidden inside before following after the others. because carrying a chest would be much heavier

Luckily, we landed in a safe place. There wasn't a huge legion of Riders waiting for us or anything, and I took that as a good sign. As Katsumi jumped in after me, I would help her to her feet before following behind Yukimura, weapon held tightly just in case.
I only prayed we were going the right way.

I heard metal from behind me, and based on Yukimura's screams and his starting to run for his life, I realized something bad was happening, and I didn't even bother turning around to look at it as I ran for my life too. I was getting really sick of this place by this point, and I followed behind the others as fast as I could (because Katsumi is much faster) despite my bad leg. Going down the turns, a vortex would be before us.
"Because that's perfectly safe..." I muttered to myself as I ran and jumped straight through it.

Following behind Yukimura, I was lost in thought. I was worried about Takehiro, but... that guy and I flew into the sun together. He had to be okay, right? With that void behind us, there was no way I could back and help him anyway. As we reached the fork, I would turn and look back the way we came. My fist clenched tightly around my weapon, and I cursed myself for falling under that illusion. Maybe if I was stronger, he'd be here running with us...
"Damn it..."
I turned back around, following after Yukimura. I swore I would make it up to everyone somehow.

"S-Sanada-san..."
The sense of pain faded substantially as I awoke to the reality of the maze again. I didn't have much time to collect my thoughts, however, as soon Takehiro came along and just Sheep-Sheep catapulted threw me through a hole in the wall along with the other two. He declared that he wanted us to go, and I saw that Yukimura was holding the Daimyo's chest.
"Everyone... I apologize for my weakness..."
I gripped my weapon tightly, pushing myself back up to my feet. I was sweating profusely from the experience that I had just endured, but there was no time to take a break. As Yukimura took for running, I spoke to Katsumi.
"Katsumi... do you remember what happened when we got the first chest out? It pulled all of us out towards the entrance. If we get this one out, Takehiro will be safe. If we stay now, we're only hindering him."
It pained me to say it, but it was true. He would have to look out for all of us, protect us and that meant risking his neck to take a blow for us or something. We couldn't distract him. And if anyone was fine alone, it was the fabulous demon knight that stood between us and the enemies.
With a heavy heart, I stood and looked at Takehiro. "Don't die, Takehiro." I would wait for Katsumi to take off running first before I followed behind them. If Katsumi refused to listen still, I would grab her hand and run. We couldn't let Yukimura get lost in the maze, and possibly killed.

I began to scream as every limb snapped, with every single time the Rider stabbed me. He was torturing me, making sure he wasn't stabbing anywhere vital, the bastard... I stared up at him, contempt in my eyes. I wasn't going to die here, I couldn't. I couldn't let everyone down, and I couldn't leave her behind...
I continued to fight this illusion. That's what it was, right? So why did it hurt so much? My body would struggle the more I screamed. I was determined to break this, even if I felt like I couldn't move my body. It didn't matter how much pain I felt, or how much I bled. I wanted to beat this fucker into the ground.

The Rider slammed down on me, and it felt as if I was suffocating. The bastard whispered in my ear, and I gritted my teeth through sharp breaths. Was I really going to die in a place like this? Where were Katsumi, Yukimura, and Takehiro? Why was I unable to fight this on my own? Why was I so weak?
My eyes widened upon hearing Yukimura's voice. He was out there, somewhere, calling to me. An illusion? And he was right, I was supposed to get stronger for her... I grimaced, pushing myself upwards with the Rider on top of me. With a shout, I would swing my weapon at the Rider once more, attempting to dispel this illusion. I would fight it until my dying breath if need be.
please don't really kill me

It was as if I blinked and was suddenly on the ground, the Rider stood above me, seemingly mocking me. I mustered all the strength I could, stabbing my blade upwards at his skull, attempting to impale his head and take him out. I couldn't see my teammates, and I only hoped they were a safe distance away from me, if I was even able to move in the real world.
"I'm not going to die like this..."

Katsumi would approach me, holding much concern for me. The fact that she cared so much brought a smile to my face. "Ahh, Katsumi-chan... I am sorry for worrying you, but I am fine. I was just injured fighting that last creature is all."
I placed a hand on her shoulder to reassure her, as Takehiro went on to grab the Daimyo's chest. It meant we would soon be out of this forsaken place. But as I was about to pull my hand away, I suddenly began to feel really heavy, right as I heard that accursed neighing. I fell to one knee, my weapon in the ground holding me up right now.
"I... what's... going on...?"
Whatever it was, it was happening to Yukimura too, but not the others... could it have been something that attacked us before? I gritted my teeth, doing my best to follow the others as I looked down the path where Takehiro walked. "Katsumi... be careful, please..."
