I spoke as the men approached me, and as they neared, they would find my blades detach, slashing at either one of them with one blade each. No more hesitation. No more stopping myself. I couldn't help anyone if I doubted myself.

My attempts failed, and I instead received an elbow to the face. MORE FACE PAIN. BUT AT LEAST I SAVED GIRLFRIEND-CHAN.
Rearing back in pain with my hands over my face now, I looked over and saw my weapon nearby. I quickly went for it, and if I was successful, I would bring that blade to the rider's neck, attempting to decapitate him.

Something told me my light self was doing just fine, I could feel it. And I hoped that my faith in him was going to carry him to victory.
I saw six enemies approaching me, and I quickly spun my blade in front of me to parry any blows. Immediately afterwards, I would duck and sweep my blade in front of me at their legs, immediately following up with an upper sweep if I missed any of them, and then a slash to any of the bodies on the ground who weren't defeated yet.

The light me was there again! I stared in wonder as he appeared before me, readying his weapon as well. I realized now that my inner strength had manifested itself into a being that could help me save more than I physically could alone!
I nodded to myself, leaving this area to him. I felt he would be able to handle this well enough for me to save the women being pulled away, and I made a break for the women as the light version of me charged at the bandits, blade drawn and slashing at those who came near him.

I got kicked in the face before I could get behind the guy, and it really sucked when you couldn't get dazed to at least block out some of the pain. I looked over to see Yukimura get impaled, and my eyes widened. "SANADA-SAN!"
As the rider brought his hand up to extend his blade to stab Katsumi, I would jump up, going for that same hand, attempting to wrestle the blade from his hand before turning it around on him and stabbing his spinal cord from the front. I prayed I was successful. If I failed to get it from his hand, I would attempt to get distance from the rider before he stabbed me too.

I... did I travel back in time somehow? It looked as though the raid was just beginning, this meant I could save more people!
My blade would come down, slicing the ropes that the bandits used to lynch the women. I would step out, revealing my presence to the men. My hand came up, slipping the mask from my face, and my body turned to its normal color.
"Your opponent is me!"
I readied my weapon, conjoining the swords and facing the bandits down. I had used the mask as a means to hide myself, to hide my shame. It was time to stop hiding and face these battles myself.

I got punched in the face. "HA! I GOT--.." I got punched in the face again. IF YOUR OPPONENT HAS 1/2 DMG, JUST PUNCH HIM TWICE, RIGHT?! THIS GUY GOT IT.
I fell back, clutching my face through my mask, hoping my nose wasn't broken. Luckily, I wasn't dazed whatsoever, this mask was really something! While Yukimura was busy keeping Rider-sama distracted, I would run for our weapons, grabbing Yukimura's Spear of Much Stabbiness and aimed to impale the Rider from behind in the spine.

No matter how many we slew, more would just keep pouring in! Before I knew it, we were overrun, and I found a blade to my throat. No! No, it can't end like this! I thought as I felt the blade pierce my throat.
And then... I found myself at the shore again, as if nothing had ever happened. I looked around in a panic, checking my body and finding no injuries, and yet, my heart was racing like it was all very real. Looking behind me and seeing the village, I wasted no time in sprinting over there, wanting to see what was going on. Was it all a dream?

I'd shout, realizing the grave danger I was in. My arms quickly went up to block my face, my gauntlets would take the brunt of the damage for me. If this was successful, I would aid Yukimura and grab at the guy's arm, trying to hold it in place and slamming my fist down on the back of his elbow as hard as I could. If I could break it, that'd be sweet. If not, I was hoping Yukimura could at least wrestle the weapon away from him.

What...? Was that me? I saw myself striking the enemies down, and yet... it wasn't me. It was like when I felt utterly helpless, my spirit seemed to channel itself into its own being to attack!
I don't know what's going on, but... I gripped my blade and steeled myself to battle. As I charged forth at the nearest group of bandits, I saw some more near some other villagers, and I willed that other me to go help them. And it looked like he read my mind, as he charged straight for them, blade in hand and aiming to strike the bandits down! As he swung his sword aiming to slash at their chests and throats, my own blade would swing around, planning to cut down those in front of me.

My mental cheers turned to mental cries as the rider gracefully leaped off of his chariot in a badass fashion, and with little time to react, I would feel something strike my back, pain shooting throughout my body as it felt like it was on FIYAAAAAH!
"Argh... son of a..." Gritting my teeth and trying to endure the pain the best I can, I would turn around and thrust my blade at the rider, above where Yukimura slashed. I was certain that together, we could take this guy down.

"She was severely beaten and was covered in blood and cuts when I found her... by the time I had gotten to her, I was already stabbed and carried her all the way back to town... I haven't been allowed to see her too much."
It was at least a couple hours out of town, and it certainly wasn't easy. Collapsing outside the town, we were lucky to get picked up by the residents here as we both lost consciousness after our blood loss.
That said, I wasn't sure if Katsumi had received any deeper injuries like I had. I was out of the loop when I asked about her condition.

(OOC: The sakabato is a sword where the blade is reverse. The sharp edge faces the wielder, and the dull end faces the opponent. So that way you can defeat your opponent without killing them.)
"I... thank you very much, Tsukino-san!" I bowed again, extremely grateful that she was so adamant about going out of her way for us. I was certain we could work out payment further on, especially to compensate for any supplies she may have needed.
"Well, you see..." I moved my kimono down just a bit so she could see the wraps on my torso. "I was stabbed... I'm not actually meant to be out of bed, to be honest." I scratched my head as I spoke. "But she... she's far worse. Her entire body, and I..."
My voice trailed off, one of my fists clenching up as I kept recalling the bloodied state I found her in. I calmed down, looking back at Seiko. "It would mean the world to me if you saw her, Tsukino-san. She's staying at the inn."

"Really, Tsukino-san, you're a physician?" My eyes widened for a moment. It must have been some strange stroke of luck to come across her like this. The people at the inn, while helpful, probably weren't the best suited for things... But if Seiko could really be a help, then... would Katsumi let her help?
"I could not possibly ask you to go so far out of your way for people you do not even know." I bowed my head in respect, trying not to wince. "But... I am very worried for her safety..."
I wanted to jump at every chance I could to make sure Katsumi was okay. I had risked my life for her, nearly dying to get her back to the town, but upon waking up in that bed later, I realized it wasn't just as simple as getting her back. I did not know the extent of her condition. Or even if she would let someone else see her, as she was so secretive about her identity since she pretended to be a man... which I had realized I let slip.

Finally getting away from the wall, I soon learned that we would not be catching a break in this place. A MOTHERFUCKING DEATH CHARIOT FROM HELL WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!
"ARE YOU STILL HAPPY THAT WE STAYED, KATSUMI?!"
I would shout as I took a position opposite from Yukimura, grabbing my conjoined blade by one of the blades and swinging it to get more range as I aimed for the legs as well. Hopefully our combined attack would wipe out the legs from either side, and I would back away as needed, hoping I didn't get run the hell over.

I smiled behind my mask, but of course, Shou would be unable to see that. It seemed he was with who I considered the good guys. After having met Yukimura, who incidentally could look the same as me, I realized how good the Takeda truly were.
"I'm not aligned to anyone. However, I am a friend of the Takeda's. Sanada Yukimura and I are quite close."
I felt that saying his name out loud would show my words were true, if this man even knew who Yukimura was. He was with the Takeda, and Yukimura was one of its leaders, so I didn't see why not. Shou seemed alright in my book, and it seemed he would be an ally in the future.

I'd shout in terror as the wall behind us began to move. I would sprint as fast as I could move, my weapon held tightly at my side. I wasn't too worried about Katsumi as she was faster than us and would probably get out of here much sooner, but I would ensure she was in front of me regardless. Not that I had a choice.
As soon as possible, I would also dive out of the way to safety, not wanting to get made into a Haji sandwich today.

I saw her get smashed in the face with a log, and wanted to cry out her name. I forever vowed to hate logs from this point onward! I crawled forward as quick as I could, making sure that no spears or logs were going to hit me too, and got to her side.
"Katsumi? Are you okay?!" Granted, she was wearing some pretty heavy armor now, but it was a log...
After checking up on her, I would be sure to follow Yukimura, but ensuring I stayed close to Katsumi, weapon at the ready. I'mma cut you log bastards out of the air!

This man's desires were noble indeed. It seemed there were others who shared in my desires to create a land of peace. With so many like minds, one had to think that there was a peaceful resolution to things somewhere. So why were people so turned against each other?
"It seems that you and I are on the same page. I too desire a land at peace." The difference was, I currently fought for no banner. As time passed, I began to ponder Sanada Yukimura's proposal for me to join the Takeda, but I still hadn't provided him with an answer. I wanted to bring Katsumi with me.
"If you do not mind me asking, which banner do you fight under?" The perfect way to see if he was an ally or would become an enemy in the future. Nevertheless, I hoped never to fight him.

It was certainly common nowadays to find another wanderer. Many people weren't certain of who they wanted to ally themselves with. Most stayed with their lords who ruled over the land that they ruled over, but if I did that, then I'd be serving Oda Nobunaga himself. That definitely didn't sit well with me. He and I may have been born in the same place, but something about him made me oppose everything that he stood for.
"I came here with someone, but... we were injured. She's resting up at the inn still." I looked away as I remembered what happened to Katsumi just days before. My own weakness put her in that position. "So we're kind of stuck in this area for a while longer... what about you?"

There wasn't much one person could do alone, I began to realize that more and more. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't save everyone. I simply wasn't strong enough. I possessed the will, but it was worth nothing if I couldn't back it up.
As they rushed at me, my blades would conjoin once more, and I grabbed it by the blade, swinging it in front of me as they approached. Afterwards, I would bring it back and slash in at a lower arc before bringing it back up and spinning it around in front of me to parry any incoming attacks.

I placed a hand on my chin, as I pondered over what name I could possibly go by. While this man called me Shiro, it really didn't strike any sort of fear at all. It was also probably a name only he would call me by. But if it caught on, that'd be something. Regardless, I had plenty of time to think of a name. "Maybe someday, you'll learn my real name."
He seemed trustworthy enough. I just wondered who or what he aligned with, and if he was actually a friend or a foe in the long run. I looked at Shou, posing a question for him.
"Yamabara-san, you speak of becoming the best, but what is it that you wish to do?"

Damn it! I was too slow! I had no choice now but to run after the men, despite how far away they were. I would charge as quick as I could towards them, and if I managed to get close, I would slash at their horses' legs in an attempt to get them off of their mounts to even this out. Whether this was successful or not, I would slash at the ropes binding the women so they could get free.

Making sure the woman was okay was enough, I had no time to convince her that I was a friend. I quickly turned around, running to where I heard the screams. I quickly ran outside, bursting into the next home, swinging my weapon around in the same manner, planning on taking out any of my foes while they were distracted.
