What The Hell Did I Do?!

With both doppelgangers working together... sort of, they would manage to hold Taniguchi off long enough for Haji and his look-alike to put even more ground between them and the angry Daimyo, but they would only stop him for long... until he just barreled right through them. Now he was even more angrier from being hindered and would let out a loud roar of anger, far louder than Yukimura's roars. All four of them would feel the very ground beneath them quake from the roar.

"COPYING YOUR... I AM NOT! MORE LIKE YOU'RE COPYING ME! WHAT THE HECK IS YOUR NAME ANYWAYS? I BET IT'S SOMETHING RESEMBLING MY NAME, KAJI, LIKE HAJI OR SOMETHING! YOU'RE EVEN TAKING MY NAME AND CHANGING A LETTER, COPYCAT! ... GAH, THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR ARGUING, I GOT A PLAN! THERE'S A NEARBY BRIDGE NOT TOO FAR FROM US! IF WE CAN REACH THE OTHER SIDE AND CUT THE ROPES HOLDING THE BRIDGE UP, WE CAN GET AWAY FROM LORD TANIGUCHI, BUT WE HAVE TO MOVE FAST!"

The ground shook when Taniguchi roared. FROM A ROAR. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? RUN. EVEN FASTER. I WASN'T GOING TO DIE BECAUSE OF THIS! IF HE GRABBED ME, HE'D PROBABLY TEAR ME APART WITH THAT ROAR. WAS THAT ROAR HIS MUSOU?

"WHAT? ARE YOU MAKING FUN OF MY NAME? I HAPPEN TO LIKE HAJI! KAJI IS THE STUPID NAME! YOU'RE THE COPYCAT HERE, I WAS LIVING JUST FINE NOT KNOWING I HAD A CLONE UNTIL THIS ALL HAPPENED. WHATEVER, YOU'RE RIGHT. THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA. WE CAN ARGUE THIS OUT AFTER WE GET RID OF THIS ASSHOLE!"

I would sprint as fast as I could, following close behind Kaji. If this bridge plan worked, I hoped we would be okay, I needed a chance to breathe!

"THEN WHY WERE YOU EVEN IN OKI IN THE FIRST PLACE!? THIS ISN'T EXACTLY THE CAPITAL! DON'T TELL ME YOU THOUGHT GOING THROUGH HERE WAS THE FASTEST ROUTE HOME! THERE HAS TO BE OTHER ROUTES BAKA!!"

Kaji running even faster from Taniguchi's ground-shaking roar, despite being scared out of his wits, he still had the energy to continue arguing with Haji as they continued to be chased by the angry Daimyo. The Daimyo sure had a lot of stamina and rage to keep such a pace up, while poor Haji and Kaji only kept this pace up out of sheer fright and to save their own hides.

"YOU AND ME BOTH AHO! WHATEVER, NOW'S NOT THE TIME TO BE INSULTING EACH OTHER! WE CAN DO THAT WHEN WE'RE NOT RUNNING FOR OUR LIVES! THERE'S THE BRIDGE!"

Kaji sprinting just as fast as Haji, if not faster, behind them, Taniguchi would let out a roar before leaping up into the air and slamming his blade into the ground, would generate a shockwave that would send Kaji and Haji flying forwards. Landing on his front and sliding for a bit, Kaji would groan in pain as he pushed himself up, but on the bright side, they were closer to the bridge!

[Morei Haji]

"I WENT THROUGH HERE BECAUSE IT WAS THE FASTEST ROU-.... HEY! I'M NOT A BAKA! YOU'RE THE DUMBASS THAT STARTED THIS ENTIRE MESS!"

I heard a roar, and suddenly I was sent flying forward, the world shaking around me. I swear Taniguchi was the war god himself with how fearsome he was, and as I landed on the ground, I got up as quickly as I could, trying to not let the pain get to me as I ran for my life. This guy was scarier than Takehiro could ever be, and we had to get away from him fast!

If we got close enough and crossed the bridge, I would slash out at the ropes to ensure Taniguchi could not follow us, hoping Kaji would do the same on his side. We'd be safe if this worked, assuming Taniguchi couldn't jump unreasonably far or anything...

"AND YOU'RE THE IDIOT THAT DECIDED GOING THROUGH OKI WAS A BRILLIANT IDEA! SO DON'T CALL ME A DUMBASS, DUMBASS!"

Scrambling to his feet after being sent flying along with Haji, both of them would reach the bridge, Yoshiro hot on their trail. Mimicking Haji's action, Kaji would slash at the ropes on his side, the bridge collapsing behind them as they ran across it. Kaji leaping towards the cliff just as the bridge fell out from beneath them, hopefully Haji did the same thing, he would land with a dull thump on the ground. Behind them, Yoshiro would come skidding to a stop at the edge of the cliff, roaring angrily, because not only did both Haji and Kaji get away, but now a new bridge would have to be built.

"IF I EVER SEE THE BOTH OF YOU IN OKI AGAIN, YOU WILL REGRET TAKING EVEN ONE STEP INTO MY TERRITORY!"

[Morei Haji]

Falling to the ground with a sigh of relief, I watched the screaming Taniguchi. I was now a wanted man in Oki, all for something that I had no part of. Standing up to my feet, I would reach over and grab Kaji by the collar.

"Now that it's just us two... where the hell do you get off dragging me into this?! I just wanted to get home to my girlfriend! And now I'm a lot later because I was hiding and running for my life all day!"

Yeah. I was pissed.

Yanked by his collar by Haji after they managed to get away from Lord Taniguchi, Kaji would automatically punch Haji in the gut out of pure instinct, while his other arm would reach up to throw one of Haji's arms off.

"I dragged you into this!? I didn't ask you to travel through Oki to get home to your girlfriend! I didn't ask you to get caught up in this! Why the hell are you so far from home anyways!? Did you just decide to go on a journey this morning!? If you want to journey, pick a territory close to home you aho!"

Kaji beginning to wrestle with Haji, he would repeatedly slam his fist into Haji's gut, to knock the wind out of him and weaken his grip, before freeing himself from Haji's grip and bolting like the wind, running towards the nearby forest.

"NO ONE'S STOPPING YOU FROM GOING HOME NOW BAKA!"

[Morei Haji]

Kaji's fists would catch me off guard as he knocked the wind out of me, punching me repeatedly as I fell to the ground while he bolted off. The bastard, I was going to get him back for this.

"I'LL FIND YOU! AND THEN I'M GOING TO DRAG YOU BACK HERE AND MAKE YOU PAY FOR ALL OF THIS!"

I yelled at his retreating figure as I groaned on the ground. Rolling over onto my back, I sighed, glad I finally got away from it all. Maybe now I could finally get home to Katsumi.

"...and what the hell is an aho?"

[Takeda Shingen]

"YOU AND WHAT ARMY BAKA!? YOU AND YOUR DOPPELGANGER!? GOOD LUCK FINDING ME IN ALL OF NIPPON!"

Kaji would shout back over his shoulder, his figure steadily growing smaller and smaller, before finally disappearing into the nearby forest. Speaking of doppelgangers though...

"AHO MEANS IDIOT, IDIOT! AND IT'S INSULTING TO BE CALLED THAT IN THE CAPITAL!"

Haji would hear a voice shout out, as Kaji's doppelganger would go racing past him, Haji's own doppelganger hot on his heels. Kaji's doppelganger disappearing soon after as well, Haji's doppelganger would stop beside him, collapsing to the ground. Both of them could finally head home, but more importantly, back to Katsumi!

What The Hell Did I Do!?: Completed! Haji returns to Katsumi... mostly mentally intact.
